got my new glasses...

so, i did make it to the eye doctor today to pick up my new glasses and sunglasses. the glasses fit way better than my previous pair. also, i am blind as fuck. hopefully, i will try out the sunglasses soon. it has been cloudy as fuck here today.

the Yankees lost last night at home to Baltimore, 9-7. i really hope they win tonight as my fucking stress level is slowly killing me.

AEW Dynamite was good last night.

Big Brother was good last night. i think Leah will be evicted tonight and i really hope Angela goes with the surprise double eviction.

The Masked Singer was crazy as usual.

both episodes of Grotesquerie were excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, The Old Man and NJPW.

i will probably watch some of the NFL game tonight between the Giants and Cowboys.

i will be on here tomorrow after i get back from my doctor's appointment.

best of luck to everyone gambling tonight.

i also hope everyone is paying attention to the hurricane:

the art of holding a shit for 25 minutes...

so, i was sitting in the waiting area while mom was getting the injection for her back. i felt some gas coming on and knew it wasn't going to be one of those farts where you can get away with in public. i started to think about baseball or whatever to not concentrate on the building pressure. mom got done and i got her into the Highlander and thought i was doing pretty good. i had to shift a few times while i was driving. she wanted a Frozen Coke from McDonald's so i went there. thankfully, there was no line. 5 minutes later i was pulling into the driveway. now, i have learned over the years to not panic and rush in these situations. take your time and rush when it is is necessary. i made it to the toilet after i put mom's rollator away in the garage. thankfully, it all made it into the toilet. holy fuck. i'm surprised i didn't break the fucking thing. 20 minutes later, i was taking a nap. what a day.

Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace today 3-0 in the Carabao Cup. that was a pleasure to watch. what a change. the teams will play again on Saturday in the Premier League.

the Yankees won yesterday against Arizona, 6-4. that was the final home game of the season. they start a series tonight at Toronto. they need to win 3 of the last 6 to finish over .500 for the 31st season in a row.

The Voice was really good last night.

Monday Night Raw was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, the season finale of Deadliest Catch, Inside the NFL, two episodes of Welcome to Wrexham, Name That Tune and The Voice.

Jade Cargill has signed with WWE. i'm very happy about that.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get all the grocery shopping done.

i think it is supposed to rain tomorrow. i know we need it but i am going to be in pain, that's for sure.

nothing like getting woke up by a telemarketer...

i know i don't sleep well, but i did enough yesterday that i was hoping to really get some sleep. between the cooking, vacuuming the house, and doing a ton of dishes, i was hoping for something close to what a normal human gets for sleep. so, roughly 4 1/2 hours into my sleep, the fucking phone rings. the phone said spam risk. fuck me. and of course, i couldn't get back to sleep. oh well.

the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday at Carolina, 22-14. too many fucking turnovers once again. they play next week in London against the Vikings.

the Yankees won last night against the Red Sox, 2-0. the game only went 6 innings before the rain came. of course, due up next for the Yankees was Aaron Judge. but since both teams had to be in different cities today, there was no reason to wait 3 or 4 hours for the rain to end. Judge is still at 60 HR but he is back in the lead for batting average. so, the triple crown watch is back on. the Yankees play tonight at Toronto. if the Yankees win any game in this series, they will clinch the division.

the season finale of Big Brother was good last night. Monte won the final HOH and decided to take Taylor to the end with him. big mistake as Turner ended up being Monte's only vote by the jury. Taylor gave one of the best speeches EVER on Big Brother and won 8-1 with the jury vote. she also won the favorite houseguest. first time that double win has happened. so, she ended up winning $775,000 and a cruise for two.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as always.

the season finale of City on a Hill was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

stealing three points...

so i got up at 6 this morning, to make sure i was up to see Manchester United. by the end of their match with Brighton, i'm pretty sure i had used every cuss word ever invented in the history of man. United won 3-2. Brighton hit the post or crossbar 5 different times in the game. and the game winner for United basically came after the game was over. totally fucking crazy. but, i'll gladly take the three points United didn't deserve. the funny thing is, they have to play Brighton again on Wednesday in the League Cup. oh boy.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

Room 104 was very good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

the Yankees lost to the Marlins last night, 4-3 in 10 innings. with the win and the Phillies loss, the Marlins are in the playoffs. the Yankees have basically stopped giving a shit once they clinched a playoff spot. i guess they figure they will just flip the switch when the playoffs start. i can't imagine that working out well. hopefully, they will win the game this afternoon.

i have no patience for incompetence...

it's always the little things that people do that drive me fucking crazy at times. for instance, my doctor's appointment today was to get my third shot for my Hepatitis B vaccine. i told 3 different people about it and they all marked it down, but who was the one who didn't... the nurse practitioner. so when the woman came in to give me my flu shot, i told her i was supposed to also get the Hep B shot and she looked at me like i had three heads. she then got into my file and sure enough i was right (imagine that) and she then had to go find the one that had to enter it to sign off on it. this was supposed to be a 30 minute appointment today. i was in the place for over 60 minutes. i get to have an EMG so we can finally figure out where the pinched nerve is. i also have to get 2 x-rays of my spine done. joy.

i raced home because mom wanted to get her haircut today. we went. i'm not thrilled with my results, but i also don't really give two shits how i look anymore. mom for some reason wanted Wendy's after that. there's one on the way home from the strip mall we got our haircuts at, so we got food there and brought it home.

i'm running on roughly 4 hours of sleep at the moment. i stayed up late to finish that country music documentary on PBS. i watched all 8 episodes. it was worth my time.

the New York Yankees lost last night down in Tampa, 4-0. they only had 1 hit in the game. they are off tonight and start the final series of the regular season against the Texas Rangers tomorrow night.

NXT and NXT UK were both really fucking good last night.

the season finale of Big Brother went as i expected. Michie won 6-3 over Holly. i thought it was a little shitty, but i did laugh, when they told Michie right before he won how America viewed him as a racist and a woman hater for his actions this season.

American Horror Story was excellent last night.

Cake was fucking great last night. i think i am really going to enjoy this show.

The Masked Singer was really good last night. i went 1 for 2 on my guesses.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Young Sheldon, The Unicorn, Perfect Harmony and Mr Inbetween.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against the Flyers. i'll probably get to watch the highlights at some point tonight.

i'll probably watch a little of the NFL game tonight between the Eagles and Packers.

i did listen to episode 257 of Notsam Wrestling this afternoon. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2019/9/26/notsam-wrestling-257-hornswoggle

i'll be on here tomorrow after i get done at the grocery store. i'm planning on spending my morning getting the x-rays done at the very least. i believe the EMG has to be scheduled. of course, all i can think is more money i don't have being spent on this shit.

that's all for me kids. hopefully tomorrow i'll be in a better mood.

i've been up since 5 this morning

i remember why i always hated getting up early in the morning. 1) i don't like people 2) there's even more shitty drivers at that hour 3) it completely throws off the body clock of a nocturnal poet.

i got mom to her appointment this morning early. i think the doctor understood mom's situation completely when he said it definitely sounded like she's being jerked around by the system. i'm hoping his report will back the first doctor that mom went to that said she is incapable of working anymore. this doctor also said he will gladly talk to the lawyer and tell him his opinion. mom has another appointment tomorrow. thankfully, this one has nothing to do with her disability claims.

we went to Waffle House this morning for breakfast. of course, it was gloomy and rainy all morning. joy.

the New York Yankees won last night 9-2. hopefully, they will win again tonight down in that dump in Tampa. the Yankees magic number to clinch home field in the wild card game against Oakland is 2.

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was hilarious last night.

The Voice was pretty good last night.

Mayans M.C. was really good last night.

Mr Inbetween was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lucha Underground, the season finale of Big Brother, Mr. Mercedes, American Horror Story and Total Divas. i'll watch 205 Live, NXT and the Mae Young Classic sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against the Islanders. this is the next to last pre-season game. thank god the regular season will be starting soon.

i should probably go take a damn nap. it's cooled off enough that i opened up the windows again. perhaps that will do the trick for me.

all rise

the New York Yankees whipped the Royals yesterday 11-3. more importantly, Aaron Judge hit 2 more home runs to give him 50 on the season. that sets the major league record for rookies. the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Tampa. they basically need 1 more win to have home field advantage in the wild card game.

the New York Rangers won last night in OT over Philadelphia 3-2. all 3 wins at home this preseason have been in OT. if that trend keeps up in the regular season, i will surely have a heart attack. they finish the preseason tonight at Philadelphia.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty funny last night.

Young Sheldon was good last night, although it did seem like most of the funny shit was shown in the previews. i'm hoping the next episodes are better.

The Vietnam War was very good last night. it's painfully obvious to see the comparisons between Nixon and Trump. i believe tonight's episode will deal with what happened at Kent State.

The Voice last night was good. i'm going to enjoy Jennifer Hudson this season. these were some of my favorites from last night. hopefully there will be more tonight.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Jim Jefferies Show, American Horror Story, The Vietnam War and The Voice. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i finally got a nice long hot shower in today. i definitely needed one.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in the Champions League.

i never knew the crack of dawn was so painful

at least i got somewhere near 5 hours of sleep before i woke up at 5:30 this morning. i know mom wanted to leave around 6 or so. what i didn't know was that there was rain in the area. so, to say i was dragging with arthritis gnawing at me would be an understatement. but, we made it to the place on time. the MRI went well. the results should be known by tomorrow.

while in the waiting area, i wrote 8 poems. i typed them up once we got back home. thankfully, i had most of them typed up before it started pouring. i really liked a few of the poems.

the New York Yankees at least scored yesterday. and they even took the lead in the 9th. but, when you overuse your bullpen all season long, it will come back to haunt you at the end. and sure enough... the Yankees lost yesterday 4-3. they will try to avoid the four game sweep later tonight. thankfully, this season will be over soon.

WWE Clash of Champions last night was almost just a longer version of Monday Night Raw. a few of the matches were really good, but nothing jumped out as holy shit, that was great. i'm sure tonight will just be more of the same.

the season finale of Power was fucking great. they have done a fabulous job each season with the finale. i can't wait to see what happens in 2017. the season finale of Ballers was hilarious. The Strain was great as usual last night. Masters of Sex was really good. and finally, Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual:

i'm trailing in both of my fantasy league games. i really need Drew Brees to have a monster night tonight for me to even really have a chance.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Gotham and The Big Bang Theory. i will be flipping between Monday Night Raw and the New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons tonight. and hopefully avoiding the fucking debate completely.

finally, the weather actually is starting to feel like fall. there is actually some crisp to the wind. i was able to finally turn off the air conditioning and open some windows.

if i'm not too exhausted tomorrow, i will be sending out some poems.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

top of the league

when i saw the weather forecast last night i wasn't pleased. i knew with the rain and clouds moving in, my body would be aching. so i said fuck it and stayed up late last night doing some poetry work. i figured out 2 other places to send to so whenever i send these poems out, it's going to be a massive submission. since mom will be gone, i'm thinking i'm going to dust off one of my classic late Sunday night/Monday morning poetry sessions. if i get in the right mood, i might even crank out a new YouTube video.

i downloaded the new Run The Jewels album this morning. it was FREE. i thought the remixes with cat sounds was going to be dumb, but honestly, it's fucking brilliant. i'll put the link to it down in the music section.

NJPW was excellent last night. i am even more tempted now to get their streaming service.

the New York Yankees spit the bit last night and lost 5-2. they had plenty of chances but hit into a double play every fucking time they had a chance to score runs. it's painfully obvious with the pitching in tatters and the offense more cold than hot down the stretch, there will be no long playoff run this season. hell, i'm still not convinced they are going to make it to the playoffs to begin with. they play again this afternoon. i won't be watching.

time for some music kids, enjoy:

and now some of this and that:

i got up this morning and much to my delight, Manchester Shitty lost 4-1. that meant if United could win, they would go to the top of the league. of course, i had to drive mom to get her rental car at the same time the game started. i recorded it and basically fast forwarded most of the game when i got back home. thank god, Wayne Rooney finally ended his goal scoring drought. the other goals were scored by Memphis and Juan Mata. the 3-0 win over Sunderland puts Manchester United at the top of the Premier League. i'm not sure how many times i'm going to be able to say that this season, so i'm going to enjoy that victory beer.

Ohio State plays Western Michigan this afternoon. god willing, the offense actually starts to click this week. but if i could give the offensive coordinator a bit of advice... RUN THE FUCKING BALL...

i have that Global Citizen Festival set to record today while i'm watching sports. mostly i want to see Pearl Jam play. i figure i will flip over to it at times today. on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

that's pretty much all for me today. i hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. enjoy some sun, some drinks, some lines of whatever and whatever the fuck else your heart desires.

RE2PECT

it takes a night like last night to remind me why i loved baseball as a child and why i love being a fan of the New York Yankees even more. there is no soul on earth who could have scripted last night and not be laughed at in every inner circle jerk in Hollywood. Derek Jeter's final home game will be remembered by every Yankee fan for the rest of their lives. the big hit in the first inning. the constant chants. the horrific blown save that set up one of the most dramatic moments in a meaningless game in baseball history. and yes, i was in tears by the end of it.
easily, the best win of the season. they play again tonight in Boston. i couldn't give a shit if Jeter plays or if they win. last night will be what everyone remembers.

needless to say, since god is obviously a Yankees fan
(photo courtesy of Judy G. on Google+)

and there was no rain after every forecast on earth said there would be, i didn't watch any other sports last night. i was a little surprised with the blowout in the NFL. i didn't see that coming at all. thankfully, neither of my opponents this week had any New York Giants on their fantasy teams.

today has been a pretty long day for me. got my blood drawn at the doctor's office. i'll find out early next week if anything is going on with it. i also got a flu shot. i figured since i'm going to be around more people with having the hockey season tickets, i better be the responsible adult for once in my life. after all that, nothing quite like eating cheeseburgers before noon since you haven't eaten anything in over 12 hours. mom had another doctor's appointment to go to, so guess where i ended up going. at least the chairs in the waiting room were somewhat comfortable.

when we got home, the cats were giving me that WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN look. i laughed and took my time getting their food and water ready. after feeding them, i got some money together and went to the bank to make a deposit. always fun trying to get there while trying to avoid school bus routes. the lady that took my deposit did make me laugh. she wanted to let me know that i have qualified for a new Chase credit card. i bet i have. i haven't had a paying job in 12 years. sure, why wouldn't i get another credit card.

tonight will be a little baseball and then The Knick on Cinemax. i finally fucking remembered it. hopefully it is a great episode.

i'll most likely be on here tomorrow after the Manchester United game. i would say earlier but tomorrow is derby day in the Premier League and my ass will be glued to the television. of course, if i do what i did today and get up way before the sun does... fuck it, i'll be on here sometime tomorrow. not like anyone is waiting with baited breath...

a thank you to the nurse who took my blood today. it was obvious you were flirting with me, asking about my hair color. i figured i did good when i told her she didn't need any for hers when she complained about her grays coming in. i'm curious to see where the sex dream goes tonight. she did tie me off and put a needle in me, so i'm guessing there is going to be some pain involved.

that's all for me today. hope everyone has a great weekend. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

at least they can't disappoint me any more this season

i didn't watch much of the Yankees last night as i saw they were already losing by the time i turned on the game. then i had the joy of flipping back to the game when Tampa blew the game wide open. so, that's that. for the 2nd time in 19 years, the Yankees won't be in the playoffs. unlike many Yankees fans today, i remember a good portion of the 19 years before this run. this will be a crazy offseason for the team. and if this season is any indication, i expect full blown fucking chaos. i might tune in tonight for a little bit, mostly because it will be the last time Mo is a member of the team in that stadium.

i'm pretty happy that the New York Rangers finally signed Derek Stepan. now, hopefully the team can get going and start the season off good. considering they are on the road for the first 2 weeks or so, they will need every point possible.

The Bridge last night was a bit disappointing. a slow burn that never really went anywhere. teaches me for believing the damn previews. hopefully the finale next week blows me away.

not sure what i'll be watching this evening as it all depends on when i get back from the airport. hopefully it's in time to watch The Big Bang Theory and then some NFL. i've got some guys playing tonight, so i'll probably torture myself and watch.

i did write 3 poems last night. i typed them up earlier today and think they are pretty good. i hope to write a few more before the month ends.

that's pretty much all for now. i'll be sitting here taking a nap waiting for the phone to ring.

be well.

the haps

this blog post is brought to you by The Sam Roberts Show Online #30. you can find the podcast on Itunes, Stitcher, or http://notsam.com/podcast.html. i highly recommend this episode. i also highly recommend Sam's YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/notsam. find out what all the buzz is about.

great job by the Yankees last night pissing away a chance to extend their lead on Baltimore. tough on Phil Hughes that his manager can't decide to go by the book or his gut and more times than not makes a fucking mess where it's not needed. doesn't help when the bullpen has a brain fart on top of things. fucking lovely.

my mother and sister should be coming home today from their southern vacation. can't wait to tell my mother all the things i decided to not bother her with on vacation. that should be fun.

i'm interested to see if Manchester United actually give a shit in their match today against Newcastle in the Capital One Cup.

that match starts in a little bit, so i'm out of here.

what to do when the day starts with death

i must have been 9 or 10 years old at the time. i was playing with my best friend in the woods across from his house. we came across a trash bag that had a stench that was unbelievable. we went and got his father to open the bag. he did. inside was a dead dog. stuffed in the bag to die we all thought. that stench has stayed with me ever since.

fast forward to today. i go out to feed the cats. i open the side door to the barn most of them stay in. as soon as i opened the door i smelled that smell. i looked around and sure enough, there was my cat T.S. Eliot deader than dead. i last saw him 2 weeks ago and he was looking ragged but i thought nothing of it. he certainly wasn't the same after he lost his war with Neal Cassady over who was going to be the dominant male in the group. i shall raise a glass to you tonight my lost friend. hope you are in a better place, where ever the fuck that may be.

now for the cherry on top

i'm talking about 5 hours of mowing grass in 90 degrees with never being quite sure if i had mowed that part before or not. it was better the more weeds i saw. easier on my eyes. first time i have mowed since June. amazing how much dirt i was wearing at the end of the five hours. too fucking dry out here. chance of rain later in the week. not sure how many times i have been bullshitted by mother nature on that one this summer.

so tonight i plan on catching the rest of the Yankees game, a little Deadliest Catch (behind the scenes, i love that shit) and then Hard Knocks on HBO starts this evening. just about anything HBO Sports does is worth your time. and i'm hoping to avoid the sun shits and bad sleep this evening.

i'm hoping any betting people took my advice on the men's Olympic soccer. i said Brazil and Mexico would play in the final. and they are. don't ask me who wins, but if you like a future bet, that will be the final of the next World Cup as well. nothing like making a prediction a few years ahead of time.

music today:

only what was playing in my head while i was out mowing the grass/weeds. thank heavens i have listened to just about everything in the last 36 years. plenty to choose from.
