sometimes the pain gets to be so much...

 so, after i did the dishes at 3 in the morning... i woke up from a nap while watching AEW... the rain was just enough last night to get my arthritis going to the point where the pain just shut my body off. between the pain, alcohol, etc. i was either in a deep sleep or partially dead. now, it was only for 45 minutes, but it certainly felt longer.

i did watch Pat McAfee's special on YouTube last night. i laughed my ass off that the person who won $2 million last night was wearing an Eagles jersey in Pittsburgh.

Manchester United plays today in the Europa League. i might get back in time from mom's physical therapy to see some of the second half.

i got a letter in the mail today saying the Medicaid had denied my Rybelsus prescription. so, i go from an 8.4 to 6.0 on my A1C and i'm showing no progress on the drug. i know the government doesn't want to pay for shit, at least have the dignity to tell me you'd rather see me die than actually live better through science.

i will hopefully get some poems written today while i am in the waiting room when mom is doing her physical therapy.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

grocery shopping went ok yesterday. i at least got done before the rain started.

 so, i had to go to the bank today and to Kroger to get my pills. the bank took forever. i think they had one woman working the inside and drive-thru. so, by the time i left there and got to Kroger, the pharmacy was on their lunch break. so, i decided i might as well try to remember what was on the grocery list and get it done while they were on break. i got everything i could remember (it was all but 2 items that i forgot) and then got it line at the pharmacy. checkout for the groceries was very interesting. the register wasn't taking off the right amounts on certain things. i will give the lady running it credit, she was on it. thankfully, what i got cost less than $100, and that includes my pills. 

the New York Rangers won last night at home against Nashville, 4-0. they play tonight at home against the Islanders. the Rangers are 2 points out of a playoff spot.

both episodes of The Americas last night were excellent.

well, the squirrels are back...

 mom had Orkin come out here today and sure enough, all the stuff they did didn't keep the squirrels out of the attic. so, now they have a trap set up to catch them and a special door on the roof where they were getting in. i guess, once they come out, they can't get back in. at least, in theory. the guy from Orkin was really surprised since the insulation they put in the attic is supposed to be very harmful for the squirrels. at least mom hasn't paid for any of this yet. so, yeah, that was my morning.

i did happen to write 3 more poems last night. i think i am slowly getting back into a groove. now, if i can double those numbers of 7 new poems into 15 or more by next week, i will be happy.

one of my favorite days of the year...

 today is the day i always love. that is because, tonight will be the Royal Rumble. outside of WrestleMania, this is my favorite WWE event. i'm hoping there will be plenty of surprises and that the card will be even better than it is on paper. and given the latest round of Vince McMahon bullshit, i'm hoping everything goes so well they can forget that that fuck exists anymore. thank god he's no longer associated with the company.  it is nice and cold here this morning. got into the 20's overnight. of course, for the time of year it is, it is supposed to be getting colder.

the New York Rangers won yesterday in Philadelphia, 3-1. they play today at home against Boston.

so, today is the big game between Ohio State and that up north. Ohio State must win because they have lost the last two games in this rivalry and i don't think Ryan Day survives a third straight one. the school up north has to win if they don't want anyone with a brain to know that the last 2 victories were due to the cheating scandal. as usual, i will be rooting for Ohio State. if they win, i will be beyond happy for the rest of the day. if they lose, i will basically shut down and be pissed. at least until wrestling tonight.

the art of holding a shit for 25 minutes...

 so, i was sitting in the waiting area while mom was getting the injection for her back. i felt some gas coming on and knew it wasn't going to be one of those farts where you can get away with in public. i started to think about baseball or whatever to not concentrate on the building pressure. mom got done and i got her into the Highlander and thought i was doing pretty good. i had to shift a few times while i was driving. she wanted a Frozen Coke from McDonald's so i went there. thankfully, there was no line. 5 minutes later i was pulling into the driveway. now, i have learned over the years to not panic and rush in these situations. take your time and rush when it is is necessary. i made it to the toilet after i put mom's rollator away in the garage. thankfully, it all made it into the toilet. holy fuck. i'm surprised i didn't break the fucking thing. 20 minutes later, i was taking a nap. what a day.

Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace today 3-0 in the Carabao Cup. that was a pleasure to watch. what a change. the teams will play again on Saturday in the Premier League.

the Yankees won yesterday against Arizona, 6-4. that was the final home game of the season. they start a series tonight at Toronto. they need to win 3 of the last 6 to finish over .500 for the 31st season in a row.

what a night

 so, i was hoping that SummerSlam was going to be good last night. it wasn't. it was great. you definitely could feel how HHH is going to do things differently than Vince did. and honestly, right from the start of the show, the pacing was better and the oh shit moments were amazing.

the Yankees won yesterday over the Royals, 8-2. Aaron Judge hit another home run. he now has 200 for his career. he's the second fastest to get to that mark in MLB history. he also set the Yankee record for most home runs before August. when you are doing stuff that Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle did, you are having an unreal season. hopefully, the Yankees will get the sweep this afternoon.

the Red Scare lost yesterday in the TBT semifinals. it looked like they ran out of gas in the end.

well, at least it finally stopped raining...

 thankfully, we didn't have much flooding around where i live. some of the fields had some standing water, but not as bad as i was thinking it was going to be. i'm sure we had a couple of inches of rain. i tried to outlast the thunderstorm last night, hoping i would sleep better. no luck there, as usual.

ok, let me get the shitty Manchester United game out of the way. they lost to City, 4-1. honestly, i thought when Sancho tied the game at 1, it was going to be a real good derby match. well, let's just say United showed absolutely no fucking heart, passion, or desire after City went up 2-1. honestly, i turned the second half off for most of it and just listened to music. my fear has always been that United, once Sir Alex left, would become one of those clubs where you could always think about the glory days but never get to fucking live them again. and fuck me, this is one where i desperately want to be wrong.

time for a drug habit...

 so, my sister got here last night and mom sent her to get some food. i put my phone down over by my chair and turned around and my mother had fallen again. she doesn't know what happened, so now i'm wondering if she's having blackouts. and of course, my brain immediately jumped to she has a tumor or something in her brain that is causing this shit. now, the more likely scenario is she tripped over her shoes or the side of her chair as she was getting to her walker. i swear, i am going to handcuff that fucking thing to her so she always has it near her. after i got her up, i told her, and you wonder why i'm going to be an addict soon.
