still have miles to go...

there's an old guy that lives a couple doors down. the last two mornings i have gone out to get the paper, he's been sitting in a lawn chair underneath a tree in his front yard, asleep. when i wrote last year that i was moving into a glorified retirement community, i wasn't bullshitting. now all i'm missing is seeing someone walk around in black socks and flip flops.

Copa America Update:
Colombia defeated USA last night 1-0. the boys had chances to score but weren't clinical. Colombia basically had 2 chances all game and went 50%. Jurgen's lack of urgency making changes in the second half pissed me off. i wish he would have given Darlington Nagbe the entire second half to play. i get the feeling they might have actually scored. but, the goal was to make the final 4, so they did that. i wonder if the goal would have been to win... Chile vs. Argentina tonight in the final. Argentina has been told if they don't win, don't bother to come home. so, a part of me really hopes Chile wins.

Euro 2016 Update:
Wales defeated Northern Ireland 1-0 yesterday. a shitty way to lose on an own goal. Portugal and Croatia did a great job of putting me to sleep for most of the game. Portugal scored in the 117th minute to win 1-0. i felt bad for Croatia as they had so many chances to score. this morning, France came from behind to defeat Ireland 2-1. 2 second half goals from Antoine Griezmann were the difference. later today, Germany takes on Slovakia and Hungary plays Belgium.

the New York Yankees come from behind again yesterday to beat the Twins, 2-1. they will go for the sweep this afternoon.

ROH was 60 minutes dedicated to the Women of Honor last night. i certainly was not disappointed.

i also watched a little boxing last night and Big Brother After Dark. the boxing was really good and, let's just say, i got some good sleep in after that.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Silicon Valley, Veep, Last Week Tonight, Ray Donovan and Roadies.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade this morning. i'll put the links down in the music section.

i listened to the latest Sam Roberts' Show podcast this morning. you can find it by going here:
http://notsam.com/srshow/2016/6/25/srshow-brexit

overall, i think the New York Rangers did a pretty good job with the limited amount of draft picks they had yesterday. i think they got a few decent prospects for the future. i love taking guys who are slighted because of their height. plus, taking a chance on a kid who has talent but hasn't put it together yet is always a good bet to take on. what i was confused about was the lack of trades on their part. it makes me think that maybe the Rangers think way too highly of their own players. if they seriously want to rebuild the team and not piss away the best years left of The King, they might want to swallow their pride and accept reality.

that's all for me today kids. i hope your Sunday is better than your Saturday was.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a fun little trip to nostalgia

Monday Night Raw was good last night. it wasn't good for the reasons i was hoping for, instead it was good for a few shocking surprises. first off, one of my favorite tag teams of all time:
i could live with Jon Stewart's reason for turning heel, he didn't want Cena to tie Ric Flair's World Championship number. trust me, none of us want Cena to hit that mark. so, in true John Cena fashion, this is how he shows the kids how to deal with your problems:
and people wonder why i don't like this fucking hypocrite.

i thought the rest of the show was pretty good but the ending had a true HOLY SHIT moment that the wrestling fan from my youth truly loved:
all in all, not a bad show. that was a fun little wrestling weekend.

the New York Yankees won last night, 1-0. they got some great pitching and were fortunate to have the right hitter up when the bases were loaded in the bottom of the 9th. they are now tied for first place in the division. they play again tonight against Houston's best pitcher. could be a long one.

got some great music for FREE today on NoiseTrade. i will include the link below in the music section.

and speaking of music:

most of the late night shows are in reruns this week, so instead of focusing on humor, i will do a hodgepodge of random shit i like:
i'm pretty sure that is an accurate portrayal of my childhood.

tonight on the DVR will be the season finale of WWE Tough Enough, Total Divas, Tyrant and Hard Knocks. hopefully i will be enjoying those with a victory beer.

i will most likely be on here tomorrow after the Manchester United game in Belgium. i'm hoping i will be in a great mood as this is their chance to make the group stage of the Champions League.

hope everyone is in high spirits. or maybe just high. i had an odd thought while i was taking a shower today. just thank god that i really don't have any desire to do heroin. at least not now.

and on that mysterious note, i bid everyone a fond adieu

highlights of a dreary day

well, it looks like the farm sale is going to get done about 5 days earlier than we thought it would. of course, mom now has to juggle her schedule big time. but, i think both of us will be beyond fucking relieved when all of this is over. hopefully the next auction in 2 days brings a little more money in. that also means in 2 days i will be without a vehicle. good times. of course, if i get more money than i thought for the truck, i will be thrilled.

the Yankees pissed away a strong start from Adam Warren yesterday and the bats were very silent as they lost to Oakland 3-0. it won't get easier tonight in Seattle when they face one of the best pitchers in baseball, King Felix. joy.

the Elimination Chamber ppv last night on the WWE Network was good. the match between John Cena and Kevin Owens will probably be the match of the year. needless to say, i felt like a kid again when Owens beat Cena clean. i give credit to Cena for allowing himself to lose that way. and i do hope everyone that didn't know Kevin Owens before knows just how damn good of a wrestler he really is. sadly, they put that match on in the middle of the show and it was so damn good it killed the next 2 matches easily. the main event between Ambrose and Rollins had way too much of a Dusty Rhodes finish to it. (only die hard wrestling fans will understand that last sentence). i am looking forward to seeing what happens tonight on Monday Night Raw. Cena and Owens will face each other again in 2 weeks. i highly doubt Owens will get to win that one. of course, i'd love to be wrong and see Cena passing the torch to Kevin one day. here's what Kevin said after the match last night:

the Sunday night shows were excellent. Nurse Jackie was pretty fucking deep out of nowhere last night. cancer has a way of doing that. Happyish was great. Silicon Valley was fucking hilarious. Veep was great as usual. i caught up with Penny Dreadful this afternoon. another amazing episode. this one was full of poetry, so i really liked it. and finally, Last Week Tonight once again hit one out of the park:

i got some music on NoiseTrade today. i HIGHLY recommend you check out the link to the EP from The Temperance Movement. it is fucking great. links will be below in the music section.

i think it has been drizzling all day long. sadly, i'm getting used to the nagging pain.

that's pretty much all for me. i've got some magazines to catch up on and dinner to think about. i hope everyone had a great weekend.

finally, some good weather...

judging from the forecast, the weather looks fucking amazing for the next few days. we're even supposed to get into the 80's before too long. of course, not being on the farm anymore, the only time i truly give a shit about the weather is if it's going to rain. this is a house of misery when it rains. arthritis truly fucking sucks.

found out this morning that my father's funeral is going to be on Tuesday. of course, not sure of what time. it's going to be a graveside service, so now i have to figure out if i need to see the body before it goes in the ground. i imagine if there would be something in the paper about his death, i wouldn't need to. so, i guess i'll know by tomorrow if i truly need to see it or not. i doubt i will go to the reception afterwards. i really don't think i'm going to be in the mood for that. especially since it's going to be put on by the people who got to see my father's good side, whatever the fuck that was.

the New York Yankees won last night, 3-2. the difference in the game was a home run from A-Rod. it tied him with Willie Mays for 4th all-time with 660 home runs. it was also the first pinch hit home run of his career. that's one way to silence the boos. they play again this afternoon.

the New Orleans Saints took 2 more defenders last night and, supposedly, the QB of the future. i like the defensive guys. i think they could have got the QB in a later round. but, if he ends up being the replacement for Brees and is really good, great move. the NFL Draft finishes up today.

i did watch VICE last night. another great episode. i suppose i could always go to China someday. (if you saw the episode, you know exactly what i'm talking about.)

here's something that made me laugh last night and cry a little at the same time:
i literally grew up with this show, from NBC to CBS. thankfully, with the DVR now, i can save the final episodes to watch over and over again.

today is truly going to be crazy. now, if my teams all do what i want them to do, it will be nice to have 3 victory beers today. it will be hard to follow everything given that Manchester United, the New York Rangers and the Yankees are all playing at the same time. i get the feeling that the remote is going to get a workout today. i'm not buying the boxing match tonight. i'll get the results online. $100 is way too fucking much.

on top of all that, there's a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight as well as another new episode of ROH. as i have always said, i'll sleep when i'm dead.

today is the last open house out at the farm. hard to believe that auction is happening in 4 damn days. hopefully, it sells for the right price.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone has a great weekend. only fuck the ones that cough and remember to suck all the marrow out of life.

the pure misery of the rain

welcome to the second day of National Poetry Month, where the rain has decided to just leave me in complete misery. before i get to that rant, here's your gift for today. i stumbled upon a video on YouTube today and figured i would share. enjoy:

also, in a little poetry news from my world, i sent 5 poems today to 48th Street Press for the broadside project. when i hear back from Chris i'll pass along the verdict.

now, my rant. we're currently in a weather cycle where it is just line after line of rain and thunderstorms. when i was a kid, i loved this shit. now, racked with arthritis and an ankle that is seemingly wanting to jump off of my body at any second, this is pure fucking misery. i lay in bed and i ache. i look at porn and i ache. i do some reading, watch tv, whatever, the pain never leaves. i can see why people do the hard shit. if i knew i could do some heroin and i wouldn't die or get addicted, i'd be the first in line. fuck.

the New York Rangers play tonight in Minnesota. yet another team fighting for a playoff spot out west. if the Rangers get a win tonight, they win their division. so, i'm really hoping they get that out of the way tonight. that means they would be the 1 or 2 seed in the Eastern conference. but, this is not the time to start thinking about the playoffs. all on my mind is how much i need a victory beer.

i did see a few things last night on the talk shows that really made me laugh. enjoy:

on the DVR tonight will be The Big Bang Theory and a new lip sync battle show. i figured that would give me something mindless to laugh at.

that's all for today. i'm going to go try to crawl into a ball and either put the covers over me or try to suck my own dick. either way, i figure i'll roll the wrong way and break my neck. enjoy the visual my friends.

hope this finds everyone dry. maybe even enjoying some fucking sunshine, whatever the hell that is. i did do a little shopping today online. free shit from Amazon.com and a new wrestling t-shirt from the WWE. not bad getting close to 15 things for around $20 total. i'm amazed i've waited this long to start using the Amazon gift cards i got for Christmas and my birthday. April is some fucking record for me. of course, maybe it's the lack of space i have now for anything.

anywho, until tomorrow you unlucky souls...

one crisis averted

our water problems here on the farm are over (knock on wood). turns out it wasn't the well that was fucked up, it was our holding tank. the bladder inside of it had ruptured. thankfully, the guys at Complete Plumbing got it fixed and did it in a timely manner. they finished up just about as i was getting done with mowing the grass. i really appreciate that, as i desperately needed a shower after mowing weeds for 4 hours. i really recommend that company if you have any plumbing problems. they are really good people and do really good work, 24/7.

thankfully, the weather really helped me yesterday while mowing. it was a little cloudy, a bit of a breeze, and no humidity. that made it really easy to get it done quickly. the backyard looks completely different.

i was a bit skeptical when i saw U2 released their new album today for FREE on iTunes. of course, i downloaded it. it's actually not bad. 4 of the songs i would say are really damn good. now, i don't know if they are going to go into the all-time best from the band, only time will tell that. but i definitely think it is worth a listen.

Monday Night Raw last night was excellent. i could have done without the Jerry Springer shit, but to see Y2J go off from the top of the cage last night was one of those truly HOLY SHIT moments. and then to see Seth Rollins do it as well 3 hours later... that was great. if John Cena ever had the guts to go heel, i would actually like to see him with Paul Heyman. that could be one of those odd pairings that actually could work. of course it will never happen...

the Yankees play tonight. i'm not yet sure if i'm going to bother to watch. although, i will drink if they win.

Big Brother is on tonight as well. of course, due to the new gimmick in the show, nothing that happens tonight means anything. of course, the house guests don't know that.

other than that stuff tonight, i suppose i'll be flipping around the channels. would be a good night to get some sleep i suppose.

i lost both of my fantasy football matches yesterday. not exactly how i wanted to start the season. i've put in some waiver claims to hopefully have a better week 2. i did go 11-5 in picking games, so that's not bad.

while i should have been doing my laundry, i watched some EURO 2016 qualifying today and the USA basketball game. we're supposed to get some nasty storms tomorrow, so i guess laundry is going to have to wait for now. i'm still good on underwear, so... (try getting that visual out of your mind)

hopefully the storms hold off long enough for me to get some poems out tomorrow. i have 30 ready to go. that should be a good start to the month.

that's all for me today. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
