it started raining last night. i could feel it in my bones long before it started here. after 3 hours of sleep, it was still raining this morning. it is supposed to stop here soon. i'll believe that when i see it.
Ohio State whipped Purdue yesterday, 45-0.
the New York Rangers won last night at Detroit, 4-0.
the Dayton Flyers won yesterday at home against Northwestern, 71-66. not bad, considering they were down 13 points in the first half yesterday.
i did watch plenty of college football yesterday:
AEW Collision was good last night.
SNL was hilarious last night.
Manchester United won 3-0 this morning.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be the finale of The Penguin, Somebody Somewhere and Last Week Tonight.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:
so, i had wanted to get this blog done before Manchester United played this morning. in hindsight, i really wish i would have. unfortunately, i woke up a little later than i wanted and decided, let me actually enjoy breakfast instead of rushing through it. United pissed away chance after chance in the first half. thanks to a shitty penalty call in the second half, they lost to West Ham, 2-1. hard to blame this one on ETH, but i'm sure some will. not the way i wanted to start my Sunday.
the Yankees lost Game 2 last night of the World Series, 4-2, to the Dodgers. they are now down 2-0 in the series. the next 3 games are at Yankee Stadium. if the Yankees don't win Game 3, it will be more than likely a sweep.
Ohio State played like shit yesterday yet managed to beat Nebraska, 21-17. they play at Penn State next week.
the New York Rangers won last night at home over Anaheim, 2-1.
i did watch some college football yesterday:
AEW Collision was ok last night.
Austin City Limits was excellent last night.
El Clasico yesterday was nuts. Barcelona destroyed Real Madrid, 4-0, in Madrid.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Penguin, Somebody Somewhere and Last Week Tonight.
i will be watching NXT Halloween Havoc tonight on Peacock.
the New Orleans Saints play today at the Chargers.
the USWNT takes on Iceland today in another friendly.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.
best of luck to everyone gambling today.
i should be on here tomorrow before Game 3 of the World Series.

i got up this morning and made biscuits and gravy. i wanted to give mom a "treat" as she has had a busy week. plus, with the remodeling going on, she doesn't get to sleep as much as she would like to or need to. and then we started to watch the Manchester United game against Liverpool. let's just say, i was proud of myself for turning the game off when United got down 2-0. as i told my mother later this afternoon, i would like to think that is a sign of maturity. and i know i couldn't have taken much more of it, especially since United lost 7-0. that is beyond frustrating or embarrassing, etc. just fucking pathetic.
we went to Rite Aid this afternoon. i got my COVID updated booster shot finally. mom was getting that as well as starting her shingles vaccine. the pharmacist recently graduated from college, so you could tell he wasn't exactly comfortable at giving the shots just yet. and then i fucked with him when i told him mom was a former nurse. he got pretty fucking nervous then. but, we got the shots and some things we needed from Rite Aid. by the time we got back home, the guy that mom called to fix our mailbox was just finishing up. he was hoping mom was going to pay cash, but she wisely never has much cash here. so he took the check and i'm pretty sure he's going to get it cashed somewhere today.
the New York Rangers lost yesterday at Boston, 4-2.
here are your NBA highlights from yesterday:
Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Your Honor, The Last of Us and Last Week Tonight.
the New York Knicks play tonight at Boston.
other than Manchester United fucking up my soccer parlay bet today (Real Madrid didn't help me either) i have done pretty damn good today gambling. hopefully, tonight goes as well.

this doesn't happen that much to me anymore (thankfully) but there is a point where my pain in my bad back just becomes too fucking much. and what happens is i usually have to spend most of the day in my massage chair with ice on it and i am fucking useless. now, being my mother's caretaker means useless isn't allowed, which i do understand. so, i don't get to spend as much time in the chair as i would love to, but that's called fucking life. today my bad back has decided it wanted to win. and it has.
the Yankees lost yesterday at Toronto, 10-9. they blew an 8-3 lead. oh well. they will hopefully start a new winning streak tonight at that dump down in Tampa.
i did catch a couple MLS games yesterday.
i also watched some golf yesterday.
VICE was very interesting last night.
The Man Who Fell To Earth was excellent last night.
Flatbush Misdemeanors was pretty funny last night.
Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw, Miz & Mrs and Don't Forget the Lyrics.
Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. i'm sure the Lightning are hoping home ice makes a difference for them.
i did listen to episode 400 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can hear that by going here:
i didn't get anything written yesterday. another joy of back pain. my tomorrow is going to be a bit crazy. so, i'm thinking i will get some poems out either late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, before i do the grocery shopping.
i have to take mom to get her injection tomorrow. i'm really hoping this takes and eliminates most of her pain. if not, i get the feeling things are going to get very expensive. and then later in the day, i have a doctor's appointment. hopefully my A1C has gone down. so, i will most likely do the blog in the window between appointments or after my doctor's appointment.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i always love waking up at 4 in the morning after going to bed at 2. i tossed and turned until 7:30 came around. i watered the tomatoes, put some dishes away and made some coffee. yesterday felt like a Sunday to me. i can't wait to see what today feels like.
the Yankees won last night, 7-5 in 10 innings, over the White Sox. hopefully, they will win the series this afternoon.
the New Orleans Saints lost to Baltimore last night, 17-14. considering the Saints had 6 turnovers and 10 penalties, they were lucky the game was even that close.
i found out late last night that Fez of Ron and Fez fame died. just 57 years old. thanks for all the fucking laughs over the years Fez.
i did watch plenty of soccer yesterday, some summer league NBA and some baseball as well.

i'm sure i'll watch plenty of soccer today and whatever else i can find.
i took a couple of pretty good naps yesterday afternoon. the house got up to 79 degrees with the AC off. i was probably like a cat yesterday, fell asleep in the sun.

so, for the last few days, when my body gets a large dose of pain, my reaction has been to go to sleep. not by choice mind you. it's kind of like the old Jason Isbell line about fading to black. not exactly how i would love to feel these days, but i know what the alternative is...
i did send out 13 poems today. 3 to The Beatnik Cowboy and 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash and Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication). when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
Young Sheldon was good last night.
B Positive was very funny last night.
Clarice was excellent last night.
both episodes of Cake were weird as fuck last night.
Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.
the New York Rangers had their asses handed to them last night, losing to Boston, 4-0.

the New York Yankees won today over the Tigers, 4-2.
i think mom and i are going to try to make some fish tacos tonight. it should be interesting.
i've been casually watching some college basketball the last few days. i have no dog in the fights, so i really don't give a shit. and given all the teams that have had to withdraw from the conference tournaments because of COVID, i'm not sure how the fuck they are going to pull off March Madness.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i always wanted to like this day. be in one of those relationships that felt like two people that were always meant to be together and are thriving with each other. sadly, at 45, i have never been in one of those. i thought i was in one of those a couple times in the moment, but, hindsight, being that evil fucker it is, has proven me wrong. so, the highlight of my day is either going to be the NXT show tonight or watching it fucking snow all night and all the way into Tuesday. good times.
i got up this morning in time to watch Manchester United play. hell, i was still making my coffee when West Brom scored less than 2 minutes into the fucking game. Bruno got that goal back right before halftime. sadly, that is how the game would end, 1-1. yet another two fucking points dropped. i'm fucking tired of United playing down to these shitty teams. it's painfully obvious, they need a new captain, some fresh blood that will kill someone to win a game, and a desire transplant for 85% of the fucking team.
ROH was very good last night.
Austin City Limits had an old show with Allen Toussaint on last night. it was excellent.
Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Axios, the finale of The Lady and the Dale, Last Week Tonight, Shameless, the finale of Your Honor, Desus & Mero, Batwoman and The Luminaries. i'll be watching NXT Takeover: Vengeance Day tonight on WWE Network.
here are your links for this day of Black History Month:
i guess the snow is supposed to start late tonight and last into Tuesday. they have already issued a winter storm warning here. the "experts" believe we will get anywhere from 5 to 8 inches of snow. oh joy.
i will probably watch a little of the Daytona 500 before i start watching wrestling tonight.

i took a shower last night at two in the morning. i really needed one, and i was hoping i could get the water warm enough to dull the ache in my bones last night. thankfully, i did get it warm enough that i did feel a little less pain. of course, i didn't get to sleep until almost 5 and i was up this morning at 8:45. good times.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.
i will probably watch most of both NFL playoff games today. first game is the Rams vs. Packers and then the Ravens vs. Bills. hopefully, both games will be good.
i'm sure i'll watch some college basketball today and maybe even get some more damn sleep.
i will hopefully be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays at Liverpool.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against the Islanders. they can't play any worse than they did in the previous game, so i'm hoping to see a victory, let alone, a much better effort.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday. we started the day off with a little snow and ice. thankfully, it has warmed up a little.

i was born in 1976. so, growing up in the 80's and being a big basketball fan, i watched the Big East conference religiously. so, when i woke up this morning and saw that John Thompson, the legendary coach from Georgetown had died, i was crushed. when i played basketball in junior high, those Georgetown teams and the way they played defense was one of the models we used for our team. we never lost a game by the way. yet another damn death in the last few days. rest in peace coach.
WWE Payback was excellent last night. many title changes and over at 9:30 in the evening. fucking perfect.
Big Brother was good last night.
Lovecraft Country was great last night.
The Vow was very good last night.
Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.
Love Fraud was pretty good last night.
We Hunt Together was good last night.
the Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday against the Mets, both in extra innings. the first game was totally fucking unexpected, as the Yankees were down 7-2 going into the bottom of the 7th. amazingly, they tied the game and won it in the 8th, 8-7. Deivi Garcia made his MLB debut in Game 2 and didn't disappoint. i'm really hoping the Yankees keep him in the rotation. Gary Sanchez hit a pinch hit grand slam in the 8th inning last night and the Yankees won 5-2. they take that 3 game winning streak into a series tonight at home against Tampa. hopefully, they keep it going.

ROH was pretty good last night.
the Yankees whipped the Red Sox again last night, 11-5. Clint Frazier has been playing his ass off sent he got called back to the team. of course, there just had to be another injury last night. DJ LeMahieu sprained his thumb and went on the injured list this morning. hopefully, the Yankees will win again tonight.
my sister stayed here longer than i expected yesterday.
i did watch some of the Columbus Blue Jackets last night. they lost to the Lightning, 3-2.

my mother has this evil passive/aggressive side to her and it tends to always show up when she isn't feeling good. now, i know i'm supposed to just let that kind of shit roll off my back, but given that 99.9% of the time i'm breathing i'm in some sort of pain, it doesn't always work out that way. last night was the perfect example. i forgot to do something for her earlier in the day, you know, because god forbid i can't be perfect. so, last night she gave me this woe is me speech and how i forgot, etc. so, i spent the first few hours of 2020 thinking about my failures as a son, a man, and then wondering what way i am going to choose to die. the rest of the world gets fireworks, kisses and i get to choose between a gun, a rope or a bottle. i was told as a child life would never be fair. the powers that be never told me how unfair it would actually be. i got roughly 4 hours of sleep, only after watching some porn. i get the feeling 2020 is going to be the year my depravity breaks me. joy.
the New York Rangers got down 6-0 last night at Edmonton. i didn't bother watching after that. i was pleasantly surprised that they lost 7-5. one day they might actually realize you can't dig yourself that large of a hole and get out of it.
WWE Backstage was pretty good last night.

Manchester United plays later this afternoon at Arsenal. i'd love for them to get another victory today.
i'll probably watch some of the Winter Classic today. Dallas is taking on Nashville outdoors.
i'll probably watch some of the bowl games today for sure. although, i must admit, college football is dead to me now that Ohio State is out.
i'll probably be on here tomorrow in the morning. i know i have some bills that need to get out tomorrow and the trash as well. i'd love to be on here before the USA takes Finland at the World Juniors.
i hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve. at the very least, i hope yours was better than mine.
