so, i got to bed around 5 this morning because my mother decided not to actually fall to sleep until 4:30 this morning. i woke up when the phone rang at 9:45 AM and she was already up, like she had a full night of rest. she had no clue what i was talking about. then, later this morning, she decided to be a little stubborn and try to move a plant in the kitchen. of course, she lost her balance and fell. i rushed in there from my bedroom and asked her why her rollator was 3 feet away from where she was on the ground. i checked her for a concussion and then helped her get back on her rollator, after she got the dirt up from the carpet. i really was hoping she was getting over this stubborn streak and knew she could ask for my help with anything. but, apparently she is unwilling to give that up. she set up her appointments for physical therapy before she fell. i'm trying to get her to understand she needs to have some protein with her breakfast each morning as the difference is striking when she doesn't. good times.
the USWNT defeated Mexico last night, 1-0.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
Miz & Mrs was hilarious last night.
so, i woke up this morning and saw that Manchester United was already up 3-0 against Liverpool in Thailand. i figured it was a dream. but, when i saw the video and saw that United won the game 4-0, i was pleasantly surprised. now, i know it's the preseason and nothing really counts right now, but still. i'll take a fucking win over Liverpool anytime, any day.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Deadliest Catch, Holey Moley and two episodes of What We Do in the Shadows.
the Yankees start a series tonight at home against the Reds. i'm not sure how much of the game i will watch since i have to watch the Reds broadcast of it.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
so, for most of yesterday, i was in my massage chair with ice on my back. i just love having a bad back in the summer.
the Yankees lost yesterday at Philadelphia, 8-7 in 10 innings. hopefully, they will win this afternoon.
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs yesterday:
ROH and MLW were both pretty good last night.
thankfully, Christian Eriksen didn't die yesterday after he collapsed at the Denmark vs. Finland game at the Euro 2020. i was really surprised when they started the game back up later in the day. i guess Christian face-timed with his teammates and wanted them to go play as he was feeling better. i doubt that he thought they would end up losing 1-0 to Finland. Belgium defeated Russia yesterday 3-0. this morning, England defeated Croatia, 1-0.

on the DVR tonight will be Axios, Last Week Tonight, Batwoman, The Chi, Black Monday, Flatbush Misdemeanors and Ziwe. i'll be watching WWE NXT Takeover: In Your House on Peacock for most of the evening.
i'm sure i'll watch some of the NHL and NBA playoffs today as well.
so, i got up early this morning, put the dishes away, watered the plants and decided to make the biscuits that had been in the fridge forever it seems like. i figured that would be something different for breakfast this morning. of course, because of the sodium in it, mom could have only one.
my sister made some steaks last night for dinner. they were pretty good. i'm not sure what time she is leaving today, but i imagine it will be soon.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday will be even better.
until tomorrow kids...

there is one reason why i will probably never move away from Ohio. there is just enough crazy people here to keep it fucking interesting. when i saw the news today of the meetings in Ohio from people from militias in Michigan to hatch a plan to kidnap the governor of Michigan, i chuckled.
the Yankees lost last night, 8-4. basically, Stanton is the only one really hitting at the moment. i'm not going to be shocked if tonight is the end of their season.
The Masked Singer was really good last night. mom's guess of The Giraffe was correct.
Big Brother was good last night. i fully expect Tyler to be evicted tonight.
NXT was excellent last night.
AEW was really fucking good last night.

other than watching some baseball tonight and a NFL game i couldn't give two shits about, i might do some poetry work.
that's all for me kids.
i hope this finds everyone well.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
i had to drive mom to her doctor's appointment today. this doctor's office is about 45 minutes away or so. it's south of where we live, in the part of the county where most of the yuppies and assholes live. and sure enough, the number of cars with motherfuckers looking at their phones... it drove me fucking insane. now, we left early enough to get there on time even with these assholes. mom doesn't do well in a car anymore. she really can't go without being in pain after 30 minutes. the appointment went well. the doctor prescribed a pill that should help her. it's the same thing i'm on for the pinched nerve in my neck. i'm guessing i'll be picking that up sometime in the next few days. after the appointment, we went to lunch at Rusty Bucket. mom loves the place and i have never had a bad meal there. after lunch, since the appointment went way later than mom thought it would, i knew the traffic was going to be shitty on the way home. i really don't complain until someone is doing something stupid. talking on the phone, that drives me nuts. but, what pisses me off more is when a motherfucker is going 30 in a 45. for the love of christ, get the fuck out of the way. and then when a guy cut me off without using his turn signal, i just looked at my mother and said, someone wants to die today. and honestly, i know there will come a day when i'm going to snap. the law of averages has deemed it so. so, please remember my finer moments on this earth when that day comes. not that there is an abundance of shit to draw from, but they do exist.
the New York Yankees lost yesterday to Detroit, 2-1. i was hoping the offense would wake the fuck up this afternoon in Baltimore. when i got home, the Yankees were losing 3-1. thank god, Gleyber Torres decided enough was enough. he had 4 hits today, including 2 home runs and the Yankees came from behind and won 8-4. all 8 runs the Yankees scored today were from home runs. it's always nice to ruin a team's home opener. and i can finally drink again. i'll have the videos of the Yankees winning tomorrow. they are off tomorrow and play again on the weekend.
the New York Rangers lost yesterday at home to Ottawa, 4-1. always good when you mail in a game against the worst team in the league. hopefully it improves the Rangers chances in the draft lottery.
NXT was really good last night.
NXT UK was really good as well.
What We Do in the Shadows was hilarious last night.
the series finale of You're The Worst was fucking perfect last night. as it was put in two reviews i read last night, this was the best show EVER to talk about depression in a real way. i'm going to miss the show dearly.

here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month.
i have absolutely no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i have to do the grocery shopping in the morning. i have to do it then because i have take mom to her accountant to do the taxes in the afternoon. i'm hoping that doesn't last for fucking ever like it normally does. if it gets done quick, i'll be back here to write the blog before NXT Takeover: New York happens tomorrow night. if that schedule doesn't work out, which i have my doubts because it's going to be raining and my arthritis will want to play... the blog won't happen until after wrestling tomorrow night. so, in all honesty, if you don't see me on here in the afternoon, expect the blog around 2 or 3 in the morning Friday night/Saturday morning. good times.
that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...
