when it rains like it has for the last couple of days, i basically know i am not going to get any good sleep. so, i basically live off of the three hours at night, a few naps here and there, etc. last night, i tried to write some poems and have that make me sleepy. after i typed up the 4 i wrote, sleep really didn't come. joy.
here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:
the Yankees won last night at home against Arizona, 9-7. they start a series today at the Pirates.
Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage was pretty funny last night.
i did get my laundry started today. of course, my back has filed a protest, but when you run out of clean underwear...

so my potential fuck up with my gambling yesterday worked out for the most part for me. plus, i won $12 last night on the Powerball. that means i have won $20 on the last two drawings. that gives me enough to get tickets for the next drawing on Saturday out of my winnings. that's always the goal.
here are your videos for this day of national poetry month:
the New York Yankees won yesterday at Arizona, 6-5 in 11 innings. the fact that they went 6-1 on the road trip to start the season against two of the better teams in baseball, that gives me hope for a great season. they are off today and play tomorrow at home against Toronto.
the New York Rangers won last night at home against the Devils, 4-3. this game had a little of everything; a line brawl to start off and the Rangers 25th come from behind win this season.
AEW Dynamite was good last night.
The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.
American Horror Story was bat shit crazy last night.

here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:
the New York Yankees won last night over the Phillies, 8-1. hopefully, they will win again tonight.
UCONN won the national championship last night, 76-59, over San Diego State. i did win the few bets i put on the game, so that was a positive for a change.
i usually love the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania because it is usually full of surprises, etc. well, last night it wasn't that at all. and i started seeing the reports as to why. Vince McMahon couldn't keep his fucking hands off of it anymore and of course, inserted himself back into creative and royally fucked up everything. great.
The Voice was very good last night. i believe tonight is the last night of the battles.

i got to bed around 5 AM this morning. i was up and out of bed at 9 AM. my mother pretty much fell asleep at the same time i did. she got out of bed today at 4 PM. i would have to slip into a coma to ever sleep that long.
i went to the bank today. for some fucking reason, the bank i normally go to was closed. so, i had to drive a town over to go to that bank. that took way longer than it should have. after that, i drove back to Trotwood to go to Big Lots. i had a coupon to use. of course, they didn't have any baseball, football or basketball cards. i found the Jim Beam coffee i like. i also got a new mat for our front door. a couple of toys (Batman, Star Wars) and a better storage box for the cards. i was hoping it would come up to $40 so i could use the coupon i had. it was $33. fuck.
night 2 of WrestleMania was good last night. not as good as night 1, but i think it was better than what i was expecting. i'm hoping that Monday Night Raw tonight is fucking crazy.
the New York Rangers lost last night to the Flyers, 4-3 in a shootout. i'm happy they were able to at least get a fucking point out of the game.
Billions was good last night. the season finale is next week.
Super Pumped: The Battle for UBER was good last night. that season finale is next week as well.

Baylor whipped Houston in the earlier game to set up what will hopefully be a classic National Championship game on Monday night.
the New York Rangers pissed away two different leads last night and lost to Buffalo in the shootout, 3-2. that was a game they really needed the 2 points out of.
the Yankees defeated the Blue Jays 5-3 yesterday. they will go for the series win later today.

i have to admit, i am very curious what WrestleMania is going to look like this year. as far as i know, the matches have already been taped, but i have avoided any spoilers. i'm dying for any kind of sports at the moment, so even if it isn't great i'll probably still like it.

i had to drive mom to her doctor's appointment today. this doctor's office is about 45 minutes away or so. it's south of where we live, in the part of the county where most of the yuppies and assholes live. and sure enough, the number of cars with motherfuckers looking at their phones... it drove me fucking insane. now, we left early enough to get there on time even with these assholes. mom doesn't do well in a car anymore. she really can't go without being in pain after 30 minutes. the appointment went well. the doctor prescribed a pill that should help her. it's the same thing i'm on for the pinched nerve in my neck. i'm guessing i'll be picking that up sometime in the next few days. after the appointment, we went to lunch at Rusty Bucket. mom loves the place and i have never had a bad meal there. after lunch, since the appointment went way later than mom thought it would, i knew the traffic was going to be shitty on the way home. i really don't complain until someone is doing something stupid. talking on the phone, that drives me nuts. but, what pisses me off more is when a motherfucker is going 30 in a 45. for the love of christ, get the fuck out of the way. and then when a guy cut me off without using his turn signal, i just looked at my mother and said, someone wants to die today. and honestly, i know there will come a day when i'm going to snap. the law of averages has deemed it so. so, please remember my finer moments on this earth when that day comes. not that there is an abundance of shit to draw from, but they do exist.
the New York Yankees lost yesterday to Detroit, 2-1. i was hoping the offense would wake the fuck up this afternoon in Baltimore. when i got home, the Yankees were losing 3-1. thank god, Gleyber Torres decided enough was enough. he had 4 hits today, including 2 home runs and the Yankees came from behind and won 8-4. all 8 runs the Yankees scored today were from home runs. it's always nice to ruin a team's home opener. and i can finally drink again. i'll have the videos of the Yankees winning tomorrow. they are off tomorrow and play again on the weekend.
the New York Rangers lost yesterday at home to Ottawa, 4-1. always good when you mail in a game against the worst team in the league. hopefully it improves the Rangers chances in the draft lottery.
NXT was really good last night.
NXT UK was really good as well.
What We Do in the Shadows was hilarious last night.
the series finale of You're The Worst was fucking perfect last night. as it was put in two reviews i read last night, this was the best show EVER to talk about depression in a real way. i'm going to miss the show dearly.

i have absolutely no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i have to do the grocery shopping in the morning. i have to do it then because i have take mom to her accountant to do the taxes in the afternoon. i'm hoping that doesn't last for fucking ever like it normally does. if it gets done quick, i'll be back here to write the blog before NXT Takeover: New York happens tomorrow night. if that schedule doesn't work out, which i have my doubts because it's going to be raining and my arthritis will want to play... the blog won't happen until after wrestling tomorrow night. so, in all honesty, if you don't see me on here in the afternoon, expect the blog around 2 or 3 in the morning Friday night/Saturday morning. good times.

we ended up with 4.6 inches of rain yesterday and a tornado warning as well. i believe there was one just a few miles south of us. good times.
here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:
i was a little surprised the New York Yankees got their game in yesterday. it was pretty much raining the entire game. the Yankees bullpen once again shit away a lead, but thankfully the offense picked them up today. mainly, Didi did. the Yankees shortstop had an amazing game with 8 RBI in the 11-4 win.
The Voice was really good last night.
Smackdown was excellent last night.
205 Live was very good last night.
The Chris Gethard Show last night was fucking great.
The Jim Jefferies Show was excellent last night.
Deadliest Catch was pretty good last night. this season should be great as usual.
the New York Rangers lost last night 5-2. thankfully, i didn't watch any of the game.

i'll miss part of the Yankees game today as it will be going on while i'm at the doctor's office. i shouldn't be there long as it's just an appointment to check my A1C and maybe change some prescriptions around.

the way this season has gone for Manchester United, drawing 1-1 with Everton at home is no fucking shock. to say that United hit the crossbar two times is no fucking shock. to say the linesman completely got wrong an offside call that cost United a goal is no fucking shock. thank god Everton was stupid enough to give away a penalty late so Zlatan Ibrahimovic could even the score. considering a win could have put United just 2 points behind the top 4, this one is going to burn for the rest of the fucking season.
mom has an appointment with the guy doing her hip replacement in a couple of weeks so they can start the whole damn process over again. hopefully the cellulitis will be gone by then.
i made a deposit at the bank today and then went to Burger King to try their new chicken sandwich. it's better than the original but nowhere close to as good as the commercial makes it seem. don't bother with it.
Monday Night Raw was great last night. i absolutely love that The Revival is now on the main roster. plus, i love that Finn Balor is back as well. Kurt Angle is the new GM, so that should be awesome. plus, next week is the roster shakeup, so that should be really interesting.
The Voice was pretty good last night. i didn't agree with all the decisions, but there is enough talent to make the live shows amazing.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Smackdown. i'll watch 205 Live on WWE Network tonight.
the New York Yankees play tonight at that dump in Tampa Bay. i wouldn't mind them getting a win as i really could use a drink.
hopefully i will write a few poems in the next few days and get my next round of submissions out. i have a couple places in mind that i need to send to.
i didn't watch any of the game last night between North Carolina and Gonzaga. from what i heard, it sounded like a game where the officials ruined it. imagine that.

for the most part, i enjoyed WrestleMania 32. from seeing some of the legends actually get in the ring again, to seeing Shaq get in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, to Shane McMahon doing one of the craziest fucking things i've seen in years. what i don't like about the WWE is putting legends over at the expense of the youth. there is no fucking reason in the world for The Rock to be beating up Bray Wyatt. oh that's right, Vince had to remind us that Superman John Cena is once again back early from injury. god forbid you build new stars for the day that fucker finally dies off. i really enjoyed the match for the Women's Championship, although i thought Sasha Banks should have won. i don't get why Y2J defeated AJ Styles. i did enjoy Zack Ryder finally getting his WrestleMania moment by winning the ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship. now, he should lose it tonight on Monday Night Raw. usually, the Raw after Mania is the best one of the year. it sets a new tone, it usually produces a ton of surprises and the crowd is made up of a ton of people from foreign countries, so they hijack the show. usually a good time. all in all, i thought it was a good show, just way too fucking long. the pre-show started at 5 and the last match ended around 11:50. almost 7 hours of wrestling. i've been a fan nearly all my life and even i think that's a little much.
amazingly, i watched most of the Sunday night shows after Mania was over. the season finale of Shameless was a little more tame than i expected, although i really didn't see the junkie twist coming at the end. it certainly sets up a very interesting season next year, since that's the only way we'll ever know if Frank actually makes it out of the river or not. i watched Billions this afternoon. it was a good episode that certainly set up what should be a great season finale next week. Vinyl was really good. Girls was good. Togetherness was great. i'm still pissed that the series finale is next week. and Last Week Tonight was excellent once again:
the New York Yankees home opener today was rained out. so i guess it will be happening tomorrow afternoon. i guess i'll have a reason for afternoon naps once again.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice.
the New York Rangers play at Columbus tonight. a win means they will be in the playoffs. a loss and they will be playing themselves into the wildcard or golf by next week. i imagine i'll watch most of the game or flip back and forth between it and wrestling tonight.
Villanova plays North Carolina for the NCAA championship tonight. i picked North Carolina before the tournament began, so you know who i hope wins.
the weather has been pretty shitty around here. we got a little SNOW over the weekend and today's high temperature was 39. yeah, that sounds like Spring. i know rain must be coming, my arthritis is flaring up again.
i heard back from The Literary Hatchet yesterday on part of my poetry submission from February. they have rejected 3 of the 5 i sent. i'll assume the other 2 still have a chance.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

before we get to the state of my right ankle, welcome to the 4th day of National Poetry Month. today, i want to shine a little light on Chiron Review.
Chiron Review is one of the best poetry magazines to EVER come around. i highly urge all of you to go to the site, http://www.chironreview.com/, check out the current issues, BUY some back issues and really dig your teeth into one of the finest zines around.
so i got the x-ray results for my right ankle this morning. no fracture. but, a couple of spots showing bone spurs. fucking lovely. so, it all now comes down to pain tolerance or surgery. as i told a friend earlier that suggested i have the surgery... i have no idea how to live without pain in my life. so, as usual, i'll simply find the pleasure in the pain and march on. with a limp.
my sister and i started putting up some of the things in my room; posters, awards, shelves, etc. my mother looked at it and asked when i was going to grow up? i laughed and said i've been avoiding it for 39 years, why the fuck am i going to stop now. i found a nice little spot for the artwork i bought from Mr. Brainwash. i'll get some pics up when this all gets done.
i went over to the farm this morning to help load up a bunch of shit that needed to be taken to the county dump. i was a little surprised when my mother and sister took be back to the house and basically let me off the hook for the rest of the day. that did give me a chance to rest my ankle and catch up on some of the pro wrestling on the DVR.
it also gave me the chance to catch the second half of the Manchester United game. it wasn't exactly pretty but i'll gladly take the 3 points in the 3-1 win over Aston Villa. plus, the goal from Wayne Rooney was spectacular. here are some highlights from the game:
the Final Four starts tonight. i figure i'll watch most of that. the New York Rangers also play tonight. i'll have an eye on that as well. also, Saturday Night Live is new and the episode of Austin City Limits looks to be a good one. i guess the DVR is going to be busy tonight.
hard to imagine that the baseball season starts tomorrow night. i have no clue how the New York Yankees are going to do this season. but, i imagine if they miss the playoffs for the 3rd straight season, heads are going to fucking roll.
that's all for me today. i've got some icing to do and a nap to take. hope everyone is having a great weekend.

last night was a prime example of when you listen to your gut, you soon realize that your gut has shit for brains.
i had a good feeling about the New York Rangers. they lose 7-4. The King gets pulled, the team stages a comeback only to choke like a fucking dog in the end. Game 6 will be Thursday back at MSG. they better win it there as i want no part of a Game 7 in Montreal. i'm waiting to hear about any possible suspensions from last night. i'm willing to bet there will be at least one, perhaps two.
the Yankees only managed to get 5 hits and they lost 6-0. they need the injured players to get better SOON.
and team USA struggled for most of its match against Azerbaijan. they won 2-0 but when you struggle against the 85th best team in the world, how the fuck are you going to have any success in the group of death...(Ghana, Portugal, Germany)? easy answer, you won't. they have 2 more friendlies before the World Cup. i'm really hoping they play much, MUCH better in those 2 games.
i also realized last night that i totally missed the two episodes of Louie on Monday night. and i'm way too lazy and broke to find them online or pay for them, so i guess i'm going to have to pull a mini-marathon next Monday night. this is why i need a damn DVR.
i'm planning on watching The Normal Heart this evening. i'll end up missing a few innings of the Yankees game, but honestly, what am i really missing there.
i suppose i will also be watching some playoff basketball and hockey tonight as well.
it's supposed to storm here tonight. of course, it was supposed to do that the last few nights and we haven't got a drop. the crops need some damn rain. what little is coming up is all from the snow in the winter. i'd like to end this month with at least more than a few drops of rain.
i got my mother's birthday gift today on Amazon.com. hopefully she will love it. i got some shit for myself as well. had to get to $35 for the free shipping. thank god i love cheap music.
saw today that Maya Angelou died. as did Malcolm Glazer. he happens to own Manchester United. i can't even begin to fathom who will be the third member of the group.
that's all for me today. i've been listening to classical music for the last 17 hours (off and on). most people that know me know i only listen to classical music when i'm angry. congrats if you just connected the dots.

another day of editing and doing some laundry. you wouldn't think that would involve much stress. you'd be wrong. i might have some more news on that later. maybe not.
i did go to the Dayton Flyers game last night. amazing what a few hard practices, a huge slice of humble pie and a change in the starting lineup will do for a team. a nice 6 point come from behind win last night that i totally didn't expect. even though Las Vegas had them as 4 1/2 point favorites. felt bad for my mom sitting there with all the noise. she's having some problems with her hearing here recently. praying that it's not the worse case scenario, but none of us will know until later this month. the next game is this Saturday at 11 AM against Temple. not exactly thrilled to be going to a game that early, but, that's the joy of ESPNU.
i only got to watch the first half of the USA vs. Honduras World Cup Qualifier yesterday. i'm pretty disappointed they lost and now have put themselves in a pretty bad spot. a must win game before they travel to Mexico. they better be going there with 3 points in the bank or any chance of getting in the World Cup would be in serious jeopardy.
quick update on the editing job. it appears i have been fired. good to know the rest of my month is now free. i do wish you the best with the book Debbie. it will be good no matter which unlucky soul gets to edit it.
unseasonably warm here today. up around 50 or so. that would be nice if i didn't have about 3 inches of mud to trudge through to feed the cats. speaking of weather, best of luck to all my friends in the northeast. hopefully the storm won't be as bad as they are thinking it will be.
quick poetry update: my poem "the lost art", which was supposed to be included in Zygote #140 will be appearing in issue #141 due to some technical difficulties. i'll post a link when that gets published in March or somewhere around there.
i'm planning on watching the New York Rangers play tonight, around the usual Thursday night programming. hopefully i won't be bored with the hockey team as much as i was the other day. of course, until they fix their special teams, it will simply be a repeat of the same old shit from the end of last year. score first and hang on for dear life.
hope this finds everyone well. a special thanks to Primetime Sam Roberts for the multiple mentions of me and this blog in his podcast #42. you can find out more about the podcast and his other radio shows by going to http://www.notsam.com/.
