one of those days where i wish i could have slept it away

it's amazing how nice it is to see the sun and some warmth after a month or so of nothing but clouds and rain. of course, a few more weeks of this and i'll be bitching about life as a fat person in the summer. good times.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

the one thing i have kept in mind while watching Vinyl on HBO this season, i knew the show was going to be over the top most of the time. that's exactly how the creative minds behind it are. so, i wanted to focus on the music more than anything. and the music never disappointed. that is why i really enjoyed the entire series, as well as the finale last night. the one thing i have always liked about the music from the early 70's, you could find a little bit of everything in everything. and most of it still resonates.

the season finale of Girls last night was great. i truly enjoyed the "reality" of it. when you hit your 30's, you don't have friends per se. you barely have pals. it's about finding yourself and trying to find the reality that works for you. the show i think finally found that this season.

House of Lies was pretty funny last night. the show hit a little close to home as i remember when i got fired over a sexual harassment claim. oh the memories.

Last Week Tonight was excellent as always last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Gotham. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw.

i listened to a hilarious podcast this morning from Sam & Cathy. be prepared to laugh your ass off.
you can check it out here: http://notsam.com/srshow/2016/4/18/sam-cathy-007-the-fb-episode

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll post the links below in the music section.

i think i know what poem i'm going to make into a YouTube video and i'm thinking i might do a medley of poems for Soundcloud. something like 3 short ones put together. of course, i could change my mind by tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

fast forward to summer

it hit 80 degrees here today. all we were missing was the humidity and today could have easily been mid August. not that i'm complaining. the house is open, the ceiling fan is on and i'm enjoying a victory beer. life can't be bad all the time, at least that's what they tell me.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

the New York Yankees finally got a hit with a runner in scoring position today. felt like it was the first time all season. they got some great pitching, a few big hits and avoided the sweep by defeating Seattle today 4-3. they are off tomorrow and start up a series against Oakland on Tuesday.

i really enjoyed ROH last night. hell, i enjoyed it so much i watched it again this afternoon.

i thought Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night. a few of the taped skits had me howling with laughter.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Vinyl, the season finale of Girls, House of Lies and Last Week Tonight.

if you are a fan of laughing and sexual innuendo, i highly recommend you check out the latest podcast from Sam Roberts' Show.
give it a listen by going here: http://notsam.com/srshow/2016/4/15/srshow-mary-jean-and-kenyon-phillips

i think i might have strained my Achilles today. not sure how the fuck i did it, but i was walking the kitchen and felt a good jolt of pain that nearly stopped me in my tracks. good times.

i believe my lazy ass needs to get some work done in the next week for National Poetry Month. i suppose i should actually do an audio recording and another YouTube video. so, if you happen to see either or both of those pop up in the next week, yours truly found some fucking inspiration.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday is even better.

will i ever see the sun again?

it has rained all day. and by all day, i mean it started raining at about 8 pm yesterday. so fucking glad i have arthritis now. good times.

i went to the doctor today to see how close i am to becoming a diabetic. lucky for me, i'm getting closer. so now i'm taking a pill twice a day and i go back in 3 months. good times.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

i heard back from The Literary Hatchet last night. they rejected the last 2 poems i had sent them. so that made 6 poems that got rejected yesterday. to make up for that, or just another act of defiance, i wrote 6 poems this afternoon. after typing them up, i really like 3 of them. of course, that usually means the other 3 will be the first to get published.

the New York Rangers will be facing Pittsburgh in the NHL playoffs for the 3rd straight year.

i finished in 3rd place in fantasy hockey this season. hopefully next year will be my year.

the Sunday night shows were hit and miss last night. Vinyl was excellent. i can't wait until the season finale next week. Girls was pretty funny. Togetherness felt like it was sort of just thrown together at the last minute so it could be the finale. the show deserved so much better. House of Lies was basically the same show it has been for every season it has been on the air. a few funny lines and some nudity. works for me. Dice was a complete turd. i can't imagine i'll watch another episode of that again. the season finale of Billions was excellent. and it certainly set things up for an interesting season 2. and finally, Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Gotham and The Voice, which is starting the live shows tonight. i will be watching Monday Night Raw.

i listened to Sam & Cathy today. it reinforced my thought that if i ever live in NYC, i won't bother with a car.

senseless...

i didn't sleep well at all last night. when i finally decided to get out of bed and go to the computer, i was totally fucking shocked to read the first thing i saw. when you see a guy you rooted for in college and the NFL is fucking dead at 34 because of road rage, it's fucking numbing to say the least. now as the story has grown, maybe it wasn't road rage after all. that makes it even more senseless. talk about a life cut way too fucking short. i feel for his kids and hopefully his wife wasn't shot too bad in the leg.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

i heard back from Hobo Camp Review on the poems i sent back in February. they have decided to pass.

ROH was excellent last night. i could watch Dalton Castle wrestle for years and never get bored.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night. i did really appreciate at how dirty Russell Crowe was. i'll never think of duck vagina the same way.

congrats to North Dakota on winning the NCAA championship last night in college hockey. hard to believe it's been 16 years.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vinyl, Girls, the series finale of Togetherness, Last Week Tonight, House of Lies, Dice and the season finale of Billions.

the New York Yankees game tonight has been postponed due to the weather. who knew a night game in Detroit in early April might not be a good idea. they are off until Tuesday now. they will be in Toronto.

when i heard that Manchester United was stuck in traffic and the start of the game against Tottenham was being pushed back 30 minutes, i sort of chuckled. that sums up this season perfectly. i thought United played pretty well in the first half against a clearly better team. then for some fucking reason, LVG decided to take off a striker and replace him with Ashley Young, who would be playing out of position. genius move. sadly, United's best defender, who happens to be just 18 (that sums up everything wrong about this team) got injured and had to be subbed out of the game. less than 6 minutes later, Tottenham was up 3-0. this was a game i would have been happy with a draw. instead, it will be a week of when does old fuck face get sacked and who is replacing him. great. i think they have their FA Cup replay sometime this week. it's unlikely they will win at West Ham. if that turns out to be true, the stink of this season will only get worse.

so as you might imagine, this has been a shit day for me.

i hope your Sunday has been better than your Saturday. mine certainly hasn't.

i like nostalgia, just not as much as the next guy

before i go on my pro wrestling rant...

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

for the most part, i enjoyed WrestleMania 32. from seeing some of the legends actually get in the ring again, to seeing Shaq get in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, to Shane McMahon doing one of the craziest fucking things i've seen in years. what i don't like about the WWE is putting legends over at the expense of the youth. there is no fucking reason in the world for The Rock to be beating up Bray Wyatt. oh that's right, Vince had to remind us that Superman John Cena is once again back early from injury. god forbid you build new stars for the day that fucker finally dies off. i really enjoyed the match for the Women's Championship, although i thought Sasha Banks should have won. i don't get why Y2J defeated AJ Styles. i did enjoy Zack Ryder finally getting his WrestleMania moment by winning the ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship. now, he should lose it tonight on Monday Night Raw. usually, the Raw after Mania is the best one of the year. it sets a new tone, it usually produces a ton of surprises and the crowd is made up of a ton of people from foreign countries, so they hijack the show. usually a good time. all in all, i thought it was a good show, just way too fucking long. the pre-show started at 5 and the last match ended around 11:50. almost 7 hours of wrestling. i've been a fan nearly all my life and even i think that's a little much.

amazingly, i watched most of the Sunday night shows after Mania was over. the season finale of Shameless was a little more tame than i expected, although i really didn't see the junkie twist coming at the end. it certainly sets up a very interesting season next year, since that's the only way we'll ever know if Frank actually makes it out of the river or not. i watched Billions this afternoon. it was a good episode that certainly set up what should be a great season finale next week. Vinyl was really good. Girls was good. Togetherness was great. i'm still pissed that the series finale is next week. and Last Week Tonight was excellent once again:

the New York Yankees home opener today was rained out. so i guess it will be happening tomorrow afternoon. i guess i'll have a reason for afternoon naps once again.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice.

the New York Rangers play at Columbus tonight. a win means they will be in the playoffs. a loss and they will be playing themselves into the wildcard or golf by next week. i imagine i'll watch most of the game or flip back and forth between it and wrestling tonight.

Villanova plays North Carolina for the NCAA championship tonight. i picked North Carolina before the tournament began, so you know who i hope wins.

the weather has been pretty shitty around here. we got a little SNOW over the weekend and today's high temperature was 39. yeah, that sounds like Spring. i know rain must be coming, my arthritis is flaring up again.

i heard back from The Literary Hatchet yesterday on part of my poetry submission from February. they have rejected 3 of the 5 i sent. i'll assume the other 2 still have a chance.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

a national holiday for wrestling fans

today is the day that the 8 year old child dying inside of me gets to have some fun. WrestleMania. hard to believe this will be the 32nd one i have watched.

before we get to all that good stuff...

for National Poetry Month today i give you:

the New York Rangers lost their third game in a row last night, 4-3. exactly the way you want to be playing going towards the playoffs. now they will have to try to clinch in Columbus, a game i could have got tickets to earlier this season but i figured they would already be clinched by now. fuck me.

Saturday Night Live had a few funny moments last night, but not enough to make it a good show. i love a dirty joke but the joke has to be funny, not just dirty. maybe someone should explain that theory to the writers.

i did finish watching Trainwreck this afternoon. i thought it was very funny in some parts and some parts just dragged on for me. i did think John Cena was pretty funny in it. i'm happy though that i didn't rush out to see it in the theaters, it wasn't that good.

the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony last night was great. The Fabulous Freebirds stole the show, like i figured they would. i suppose the biggest news from the event was Sting announcing his retirement. of course, i'll believe that when i never see him wrestle again.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vinyl, Girls, Togetherness, Last Week Tonight, Billions and the season finale of Shameless.

i will be watching WrestleMania 32 for most, if not all, of the evening. i'm really hope the show is as good as the NXT event was. if it is, this will go down as one of the best Manias ever. i'm really looking forward to see what kind of chaos Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar can cause. the ladder match that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are in should be great. the triple threat women's match should steal the show. and anytime there is a Hell in a Cell match, there is bound to be something totally fucking crazy happen. plus, it's a long ass show, so there is plenty of time for the crazy shit.

Manchester United defeated Everton today 1-0. Martial scored in the second half and the boys got another clean sheet at home. the win puts them just 1 point out of the top 4. amazingly, they still have a chance at the Champions League. i will enjoy a victory beer tonight while watching wrestling.

i have my Dean Ambrose shirt on and my New Day socks on, so i'm ready for some wrestling.

i did listen to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this morning. he had a great interview with one of my favorites, Bray Wyatt.
you can find the podcast by going here: http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2016/4/3/wrestlemania-32-special-with-bray-wyatt

i wish the weather would make up its mind

we had some pretty strong storms roll through here last night. thankfully, my sister had already made the drive back home and none of the shit i put up this weekend got knocked down. sadly, it's back to being fucking cold again.

the New York Rangers lost in OT last night to the fucking Penguins. they wasted 2 goals from Eric Staal in the 3-2 loss. i figure if they end up playing them in the playoffs again, it will be another string of long, long nights.

my fantasy hockey miracle never came and i got routed 8-2. i'm now in the 3rd place game. this will be my worst finish in 5 years, when i finished 6th. i'm not a happy camper.

the storms knocked out the satellite last night for a few minutes. that screwed up my DVR a little. it just meant i had to stay up later to see everything.

Vinyl was great last night. Girls was pretty funny. Togetherness was hilarious. i'm pretty pissed that they are cancelling the show after this season. Shameless was fucking brilliant and should have another holy shit season ending episode next week. Billions was really good last night.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Gotham. i will be watching Monday Night Raw and some shit on WWE Network tonight as this is the start of WrestleMania week.

thankfully, North Carolina won last night, so my main NCAA bracket is still alive.

too busy trying to climb down from my own cross

my relationship with religion anymore doesn't exist. i think i have reached that stage in life where i've simply gone through too much shit to actually believe a higher power truly loves me. now, maybe that will change or maybe i will just get more bitter with age. i have no clue. i live each day for what it is, nothing more. the future to me at this moment is merely a concept, nothing i can wrap my arms around and embrace as something i can look forward to.

as you might imagine, i was busy writing this morning. the brain is in full flow at the moment. i wrote 3 poems this morning and typed them up as well. 2 of them are holy shit good. once i hear back from the queries i sent out this morning, i will get the next round of submissions ready.

the miracle i needed in fantasy hockey last night didn't happen. so, i'm 99% sure i will lose in the first round of the playoffs for the first time in 5 years later on tonight. good times.

with the Kansas loss last night, i only have 1 team left in my main bracket. come on North Carolina.

ROH was great last night. i really like where they are going at the moment.

the New York Rangers beat Montreal last night 5-2. hopefully they have the good mojo going at the moment as they will play against Pittsburgh tonight. that could be a little preview of the first round of the playoffs as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vinyl. Girls, Togetherness, Shameless and Billions.

i will probably watch some of the college basketball games tonight while watching the hockey game.

we ordered a couple pizzas last night and of course got the wrong order. the place that my sister likes is too far away to go back, so we just ate it. i'm paying for all the green olives this morning. good times.

i guess my love for electronic music is now full blown with my Soundcloud account. i've really come across some interesting people in just a few days.

i might air out the house today while everyone is next door. it's supposed to be really nice.

that's all for me kids. i hope your Easter Sunday is better than your Saturday was.

paint the town red

when i sat down to watch the Manchester derby yesterday, i feared the worst. thankfully, it turns out i had nothing to worry about. boy wonder Marcus Rashford to the rescue once again.
now United is just 1 point behind Shitty and West Ham for a place in the Champions League. just when i think they are shit, they pull me back again.

what was really funny was seeing a prick in the grocery store with a Shitty jersey on. i laughed my ass off right in front of his face. such a beautiful day.

the only thing that was nearly as good as that win was how Xavier lost to Wisconsin later that night. that helped me get all 16 games correct for the second round. thank god for round by round brackets. i only had 11 out of 16 in my main one i did before the tournament.

the grocery store was ok. way too many people for my liking, especially children. sadly, no poems.

the Sunday night shows were excellent last night. Vinyl got a little more racy, which is fine by me. Girls was pretty damn funny. Togetherness had one of the great baby shit scenes i can remember. Shameless was brilliant as always. Billions keeps getting better and better. and finally, Last Week Tonight continues to be one of the best damn things around.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Gotham and The Voice.

i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening. it's in Philadelphia, so it should be a crazy night of wrestling.

the New York Rangers are back at home tonight against Florida. hopefully they win, but most teams struggle on that first game back from a west coast road trip. they really need the points.

i went to the bank today to deposit another check. it figures, anytime i'm there and there is a line, there's only one person working, today, fully staffed and no line.

i have to drive mom to a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so i'm not sure when i'll be on here. she's trying to figure out why she's had a headache for years now and why is none of this shit she's going through considered a disability. so, tomorrow should be a fun one.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

the first day of Spring, a good hard frost...

nothing like walking out to get the paper on the first day of Spring and being able to see your breath. good times.

seeing that mom wants to go to the grocery store today, i figured i better get this out of the way now.

i still am not able to see this blog post once it is published. but, i have heard from people saying that they can, so i'll keep the blog where it is for now. although, i am looking at other options.

the New York Rangers played like shit for most of the game yesterday. they are pissing away a chance for home ice for the playoffs. if they continue to play like shit, they could be kissing away the playoffs. that's how coaches get fired. they next play Monday at home against Florida.

ROH was excellent last night. i really enjoyed the main event.

Austin City Limits was excellent as well last night.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vinyl, Girls, Togetherness, Shameless, Billions and Last Week Tonight.

Manchester United plays today at Manchester Shitty. i will bleed red until the day i die, but i don't have a good feeling about this one. i'd love to be wrong.

that game will pretty much determine how my Sunday is going to go.

hopefully the grocery store will be interesting today. i'd love to have something to write about when i get back home.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday is even better.

what to do when you're at the kitchen table and you hear the tornado sirens going off...

so i was driving mom home from a doctor's appointment this afternoon and it was raining pretty hard. as we were listening to the radio, they broke in to say there was a tornado warning for where we live. now, i have been one of those guys that has been fascinated with weather since i was a child. so, i did what i thought was best; drive to where the tornado warning was. as we got closer, i looked for anything that looked like a funnel cloud. since i didn't see anything and mom wanted something for lunch, i went to Arby's. after we got the food, we headed home. by this time, the warning had been cancelled. so we sat down to eat lunch. as we were eating, the tornado sirens went off. we both sort of just looked at each other and then kept eating. i guess mom has the same attitude about death that i do. if it's my time, it's my time, fuck it. a couple hours later i started to see video from about a mile or two from here of a funnel cloud that took off a roof and destroyed a barn. that's the closest i've been to one in about a decade. so, just another average Monday.

the rain has been pretty constant since yesterday afternoon. it rained a little on the drive up to Columbus for the hockey game yesterday. but it must have rained for the entire game as my arthritis was fucking killing me. the game was pretty boring as Tampa was killing Columbus for most of it. i did enjoy the Columbus fans getting all over Tampa's goalie for diving, and on the refs for taking away a goal that should have counted. Tampa won 4-0.

after the game, we went out to eat. i wanted to see some of the Selection Sunday show, mostly to see where the Dayton Flyers would be going. we got a table in time to see most of the show. now, i had no clue at this point that the bracket had already been leaked online. so i was pretty nervous when Dayton was one of the last teams announced. Dayton got a 7 seed and plays against Syracuse in St. Louis on Friday. they beat Syracuse a couple of years ago on their way to the Elite 8, so i'm guessing Syracuse might want some revenge. if Dayton can get past them, they will most likely play Michigan State. fuck me. if they somehow pull off the miracle and reach the Sweet 16, i have no fucking clue how they keep Archie Miller as their coach. he's young and obviously a fucking miracle worker. this is the first time Dayton has made the tournament in 3 straight seasons since the late 60's.

it rained the entire drive home. mom wasn't feeling good at all. she told me that the hockey game was just too much for her anymore and she won't be getting those tickets again next year. this makes me wonder how she'll be when we're supposed to go to Cleveland to see the New York Yankees play in July.

i caught up on all the Sunday shows when we got back home. Vinyl was really good this week. Girls was very good, great ending. Togetherness was great once again. Shameless was brilliant as always. Billions had a perfect ending this week. that show is sneaky great. and Last Week Tonight was awesome as usual.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Gotham and an interview with Dan Patrick. i will be watching Monday Night Raw.

thankfully, i didn't watch much of the New York Rangers yesterday. they lost to Pittsburgh 5-3. talk about a wasted weekend.

i did see that Manchester United scored a late goal to get a 1-1 draw with West Ham. this means they have to play the game again, this time at West Ham. if United can somehow win that game (not likely), they will play Everton in the FA Cup semifinals.

a big thank you to Juan Pablo Montoya for winning yesterday so i could actually have a victory beer.

i have spent most of today filling out brackets at various websites for March Madness. most of them i have either North Carolina, Kansas or Michigan State winning it all. it would not surprise me at all if someone else wins it this season.

i did listen to the latest Sam & Cathy podcast today. brought back some memories of the farm:

i wasn't using that hour anyway

i made sure to set the clocks correctly before i went to bed last night. i figure it's not too big of a deal, that hour of sleep you supposedly lose i haven't used in 40 years of life.

i thought Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night. i did enjoy Ariana Grande getting the word shit by the censors.

WWE Roadblock was ok last night. the only thing that truly saved it from being a disappointment in my mind was the main event. Dean Ambrose vs. HHH was truly great. the false finishes and the excellent storytelling... you can tell this was a match between two guys that really love pro wrestling. the rest of the card had its moments, but plenty of fluff that was just pointless.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vinyl, Girls, Togetherness, Last Week Tonight, Shameless and Billions.

Manchester United faces West Ham today in the FA Cup. this is one of the last chances United will have to get a title this season. i really hope they play with some urgency today.

the New York Rangers play Pittsburgh today in a game they really need to win. if they want to have home ice in the first round of the playoffs, they have to win these games. i'll hopefully get to see some of it at my sister's house.

mom and i are going up to Columbus to see the Blue Jackets take on Tampa Bay. i have a few players in the game on my fantasy hockey team. this is the last day of the regular season in fantasy hockey. i'll be the 4th seed in the playoffs. i'm pretty sure i'll be facing the guy who is going to finish 20 games ahead of me, so i'm going to have my work cut out for me.

i really hope the Dayton Flyers get a good seed today when the selection committee announces the pairings. i've seen the "experts" have them anywhere from a 6 to an 8 seed. i also hope there will be some good teams come to Dayton for the First Four. i'm really going to be interested to see how mom does with these games coming up. if she doesn't do well, i can't imagine us having sports tickets much longer.

the thunderstorms are supposed to start here shortly, so i think this will be all for me today. my arthritis is raging at the moment. can't wait to make that drive to Columbus in the rain. good times.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

you ever wake up wishing for a lobotomy?

i woke up this morning with a headache straight from hell. the shitty thing was it went straight down into my neck, where my nerves are all fucked up. good times. it took probably 4 or 5 hours for the headache to go away. just the way i wanted to start a Monday.

the New York Rangers lost yesterday 6-4. they were down 3-0 in the blink of a fucking eye it seemed. sadly, they worked to get all the way back in the game, only to lose it late in the 3rd period to the fucking Islanders. the only positive from yesterday was Eric Staal finally scored for the Rangers. other than that, burn the fucking tape.

that loss put me into a pretty shitty mood. i was hoping for the Sunday night shows to lift me up. thankfully, they did.

Vinyl was pretty good. once again, the music was great. Girls was pretty fucking funny. Togetherness was great. it is probably the show with the closest thing to reality of what relationships are like. Shameless was awesome, as usual. Billions was really good this week, especially with another little plot twist. Last Week Tonight was once again fucking brilliant.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Gotham. i will be watching Monday Night Raw and some stuff on WWE Network most of the night.

i did a little poetry work this morning. i think i have my next round of submissions planned. of course, if i happen to write some more before the end of the week, all of this is subject to change.

i did listen to Sam Roberts latest podcast this morning, his new one with Cathy Kelley. it's a really good listen, check it out.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i think i will be mom's chauffeur most of the day. between meetings and physical therapy and then she somehow thinks she's also going to be able to work tomorrow (i doubt it)...  i get the feeling this is when i get to be the asshole and tell her no.

it's in the 60's here today. i figure i might as well go out and feed the birds.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i wish that feeling could last forever

i'm a very superstitious person. it's not to the point where it controls every action of my day, but it does exist. i didn't put on the stuff i normally wear to the basketball games yesterday. 2 losses in a row at home was enough. i also changed up the music i listen to before the game. gone was the hard rock and metal and hello to EDM. in that process i happened to notice that they were opening the doors 30 minutes earlier than usual, which meant mom and i had to leave right then and there. thankfully, the music stations and the traffic lights all were in my favor. when "Thunderstruck" started to play, it was like i was in a zone or something. we made it down to the arena about 15 minutes faster than we normally do. i was very happy to see a couple hundred students outside waiting to get in.

the atmosphere at UD Arena last night was electric. the game, was not. two great defensive teams basically trading body shots all night long. the sorry ass officials didn't help matters. 3 guys calling 3 different games. i put most of the blame on the A10 conference. why assign shitty officials to what is basically your regular season championship game? the whole game felt like it was going to come down to the last possession. when Scoochie Smith tied the game at 55, i thought he left a little too much time on the clock. thankfully, VCU missed 2 shots before the buzzer and it was off to overtime.

thank god March is becoming the time of year where Scoochie puts on his cape. big shot after big shot in OT. sadly, VCU was hitting shots as well. neither team could hit free throws worth a shit in the game or overtime, so after VCU went 1 for 2 at the line, Dayton had the ball trailing by one with time running down. everyone in the building thought Scoochie would take the shot. insert Kyle Davis. he's probably my favorite player on this team because he plays defense and is not afraid to take a big fucking shot when he needs to. Kyle drove to the bucket and made an incredible layup (where was the fucking foul call) to give Dayton the lead. VCU got a timeout with 1.1 seconds left. i was fearing a backdoor play but they instead ran a double screen that got their best shooter a wide open three. thank god he airballed it and the celebration began. Dayton hasn't won a piece of a regular season title in well over a decade. way too fucking long. what i really loved was Archie Miller (i'm not sure how much longer he'll be the coach at Dayton, he's too good for us) had the boys cut down the net. that was a wonderful sight to see. now it's onto Brooklyn and hopefully winning the conference tournament as the #1 seed and getting the automatic bid into the big dance.

it was pretty late when we got to Waffle House. there was only two people when we got there. abut 20 minutes later, the place was packed. mom said i must be popular. i laughed, knowing that's not possible. it's the joy of living in a town where everything is closed by midnight.

after Waffle House, it was time to go home and enjoy a lovely victory beer. i did that while watching Saturday Night Live and ROH.

Saturday Night Live had a few moments but the show for the most part was forgettable.

ROH was pretty good, as usual. anytime i get to see Dalton Castle wrestle, i'm going to enjoy it.

i got up today in a great mood. about 26 minutes into the Manchester United game, that all changed. i'm not exactly sure what the fuck Juan Mata was thinking. he already had one yellow card from a stupid play. 2 minutes later he does a completely reckless challenge that rightfully earned his second yellow. United played better actually once he was off the pitch. but, they eventually cracked in the second half and gave up a goal. today is one of those wasted fucking opportunities that normally keep you from reaching your goal. i guess we'll know in a few weeks if that is the case.

the New York Rangers play the fucking Islanders later today. hopefully they get a win. that would help change my mood.

that's pretty much all for me today kids. i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday is even better.
