when Manchester United was up 2-0 at halftime yesterday, i felt pretty confident. when they were down 4-2 in extra time against Lyon (playing with 10 men), i felt horrible. then, Casemiro got fouled in the box. Bruno scored the penalty kick. then, Casemiro and Bruno made a great little passing play to Kobbie Mainoo to make it 4-4. one minute after that, Casemiro made the perfect pass to Harry Maguire to head in the winner. 3 goals in 7 minutes. holy shit. one of the craziest games i can remember. first European game to have 5 goals scored in extra time. United won 5-4 and 7-6 on aggregate. they advance to the semifinals of the Europa League.
a delightful trip into the dark mind of an evil genius or simply the musings of an asshole

no good deed...
so, i was trying to help mom outside water the plants she got and of course, the hose is warped or some shit. so, i tried to get the nozzle off and fucked up my hands royally. joy. i did get mom to her appointment today to get her back injection. hopefully, she will feel better for the next few weeks at least.

time to grow the playoff beard...
if all goes well, i won't be shaving again until sometime in June. now, i started doing this back in the 90's and got to see one glorious run to the Stanley Cup in 1994. the beard i can grow now is light years better than what i could grow back then. that is saying something since i have been shaving since the age of 12. so, i hope tonight the New York Rangers start the journey to winning another Stanley Cup.

i think some storms are supposed to roll in tomorrow, so i'm hoping today is nice and peaceful.

i suppose i just look a certain way
today was one of those days where it felt so good out that most people just wanted to be outside, not doing anything. i could tell this when i was at the bank and there were more customers than people working.
the New York Yankees won again last night, 7-4. that's 8 wins in a row, 7 straight at home. that ties the 1998 team's start at home. they are now entering holy shit numbers. they will go for number 9 in a row tonight against the White Sox.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. the ring collapsing in the main event was certainly a sight to behold.
The Voice was really good last night. the 6 performances i liked the best were the ones that moved on from Blake's and Alicia's teams. tonight will be Adam's and Gwen's teams performing.
i did listen to the latest Jim Norton & Sam Roberts podcast today. you can find that by going here:

enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Smackdown and Deadliest Catch. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the New York Rangers have a MUST WIN game tonight at home against Montreal. they can't afford to go down 3-1 in the series. all i really hope is that they play the entire game with a sense of urgency.
i saw last night that John Crosby is transferring from Dayton. i was a little shocked by the news as he was going to be the starting point guard next season. now, if the recruit they just let out of his commitment doesn't decide to go to Dayton after all, the Flyers will be without a point guard on their roster. that will take some creative shit from coach Grant to fix that in a hurry.
i'll be on here tomorrow after i take mom to her doctor's appointment. hopefully, we will find out when her hip replacement will be rescheduled for.
that's all for me kids.

one of those days where i wish i could have slept it away
for National Poetry Month, i give you:
the one thing i have kept in mind while watching Vinyl on HBO this season, i knew the show was going to be over the top most of the time. that's exactly how the creative minds behind it are. so, i wanted to focus on the music more than anything. and the music never disappointed. that is why i really enjoyed the entire series, as well as the finale last night. the one thing i have always liked about the music from the early 70's, you could find a little bit of everything in everything. and most of it still resonates.
the season finale of Girls last night was great. i truly enjoyed the "reality" of it. when you hit your 30's, you don't have friends per se. you barely have pals. it's about finding yourself and trying to find the reality that works for you. the show i think finally found that this season.
House of Lies was pretty funny last night. the show hit a little close to home as i remember when i got fired over a sexual harassment claim. oh the memories.
Last Week Tonight was excellent as always last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Gotham. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw.
i listened to a hilarious podcast this morning from Sam & Cathy. be prepared to laugh your ass off.
you can check it out here: http://notsam.com/srshow/2016/4/18/sam-cathy-007-the-fb-episode
i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll post the links below in the music section.
i think i know what poem i'm going to make into a YouTube video and i'm thinking i might do a medley of poems for Soundcloud. something like 3 short ones put together. of course, i could change my mind by tomorrow.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.
