that was a strong cold front...

the wind was very ferocious last night. i was surprised the satellite only went out once.

the Dayton Flyers won last night at Florida Atlantic, 86-79. they play at Chattanooga on Saturday.

the First Four was pretty good last night. Mount St. Mary's beat American last night, 83-72. Xavier defeated Texas, 86-80.

The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.

Abbott Elementary was very good last night.

AEW Dynamite was ok last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Toronto.

the USMNT takes on Panama tonight in the semifinals of the Concacaf Nations League.

other than that, i'll be watching plenty of college basketball.

i have no idea when i will be on here tomorrow.

a busy day ahead...

so, i did get that poem that was swimming in my head written last night. honestly, might be one of the best ones i have written in years. of course, time will tell.

today is going to have a little bit of everything going on. playoffs, wrestling, college football, etc.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night.

AEW Rampage was ok last night.

Inside the NFL was good last night.

the New York Rangers lost last night at the Islanders, 5-2.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Collision, Saturday Night Live and Austin City Limits.

Ohio State plays at home today against Iowa.

WWE Bad Blood will be on today on Peacock.

i'm sure i will watch some college football today.

searching for the words...

how many fucking gray days is this winter going to be? fuck, i haven't seen the sun for days it feels like. mom did get her injection today. she was worried, since she was running behind, that we were going to be late. thankfully, i learned a long time ago how to draft behind semis on the highway. we got to the place 8 minutes before her appointment time. after she got her injection, she wanted a Frozen Coke from McDonalds. at least that line moved pretty fast.

i got home in time to watch some of the World Juniors. it was a very interesting day. Finland beat Slovakia in OT, 4-3. Czechia got a late goal to upset Canada, 3-2. Sweden defeated Switzerland in OT, 3-2. the USA whipped Latvia, 7-2. so, the semi-finals will be USA vs. Finland and Sweden vs. Czechia on Thursday. winners face each other in the gold medal match. losers face each other for the bronze. been a long damn time since Canada got knocked out this early.

Monday Night Raw was very good last night.

i did watch some of both college football games last night. the championship next Monday should be pretty interesting.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Inside the NFL, Name That Tune and Hard Knocks.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Carolina.

i did check out some of the Winter Classic yesterday. Seattle won 3-0.

here are your NBA highlights from last night.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done. i also need to go to the bank tomorrow.

i need to figure out what i'm going to make for dinner tonight.

well, here we go again...

the Yankees got rained out last night in Boston, yet again. so, there will be another doubleheader today. hopefully, they will win both games like the first two games of this series.

AEW Dynamite was really good last night.

Big Brother was pretty funny last night. i think Izzy will get evicted tonight. of course, you never know with this group.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother and NJPW.

the Vikings play at the Eagles tonight. i will probably watch some of that.

the weather is supposed to be really nice again today, so i am going to try to get outside and take care of the birds.

i had one of my usual bullshit internet greetings in the last few hours. had a woman say hello to me that claimed she was from Ohio but lives in Ghana now. there's the first red flag. the second one, she tells me all about herself and how she is a Christian. and then the third strike, sends me her picture and it is one of a porn star. it never fails. how i just love motherfuckers wasting my time.

i should be on here tomorrow after i take mom to Rite Aid.

breakfast at noon...

so, there was a bunch of shit that kept me up last night... i didn't fall asleep until 5 this morning. managed to finally get out of bed a little after 11. just enough rain and moisture last night that my arthritis was having a field trip. i hate eating breakfast at noon. it just drives home the fact i am already way behind on everything i need to do. i think that is what living 18 years on a farm taught me. there is always something to fucking do. and time waits for no one.

the New Orleans Saints won yesterday at Philadelphia, 20-10. of course, in the grand scheme of things it meant nothing as they were later eliminated from making the playoffs. oh well, at least they made the last week of the season interesting for the NFC. the Eagles still haven't clinched the top seed yet.

the New York Rangers won yesterday at Florida, 5-3. they play tomorrow at home against Carolina.

George & Tammy was really good last night. the season finale is next week.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw.

so, the betting yesterday didn't go so well for me. my 49ers parlay almost hit, but the Raiders ended up tying the game near the end, which made it impossible for the 49ers to win by more than 6.5 points. i then took a flyer on a free bet on the Buffalo Sabres. they lost to Ottawa, 3-1. so, in my final bets of the night, i took an easy gamble on the Bengals tonight that they won't be shutout. and i felt a little frisky so i took Brentford to beat Liverpool today. and HOLY SHIT, they defeated them 3-1. i took Brentford at +450, so my free $25 bet paid out $112.50. so, i feel much better now.

i did listen to episode 428 of Notsam Wrestling today. you can hear that by going here:

team USA plays Germany today at the World Juniors. hopefully the boys will win and advance.

i do have the Winter Classic on right now. Bruins vs. Penguins from Fenway Park.

the New York Knicks play today at home against Phoenix.

here are your NBA highlights from yesterday:

i'm sure i will watch some college football games at some point today. and i will probably watch some of the game tonight between the Bills and Bengals.

not sure when i will be on here tomorrow. i know at some point i will probably be going to the bank and probably Rite Aid to pick up a prescription. at least there shouldn't be the clusterfuck with my health insurance this year.

i hope everyone had a great weekend and a great start to 2023.

i guess i have some time to catch up on movies...

i finally got to see Once Upon A Time.. In Hollywood this afternoon. i enjoyed it. it dragged in a few spots, but most of the movie was really good.

Monday Night Raw was good last night. hard to fucking believe WrestleMania is this weekend.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

The Voice was really good last night.

The Plot Against America was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be WWE Backstage, Dark Side of the Ring and The Scheme.

i still have trash to pick up here and next door, so that's all for me today kids.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm hoping i will have a trip to the bank tomorrow to deposit a check, but i'm not counting on it. i do need to go to the drugstore tomorrow to see if i can find some toilet paper. that will be fun.

i heard some report was released today or something...

i avoided all the news this morning about the Mueller report. i mean, what the fuck is the commotion about? we all know Trump is a fucking liar and a criminal. everyone he employs has to follow the company line because he always wanted to be a mob boss. all the report does is kick the ball over to Congress, where the Democrats almost still believe in law and order while the Republicans understand money is what runs this country and they can never have enough of it. if you truly would like to fix this country, go back about 50 years and get all the money out of politics. but since that can't happen, we're fucked. everyone knows it. so as my mother said about sometimes having to eat a shit sandwich... smile and enjoy it.

the New York Yankees came from behind to beat Boston last night, 5-3. they start a 4 game series at home against the Royals tonight. hopefully, they can start putting some wins together and get on a roll.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

NXT was pretty good last night.

Dark Side of the Ring was excellent last night.

What We Do in the Shadows was hilarious last night.

here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

enjoy some music:

i do plan on watching plenty of the NHL and NBA playoffs tonight.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store. that should be interesting given the weather and the scroll of food to get for Easter.

congratulations to my sister on her new job.

it's supposed to rain cats and dogs tonight, so i'm not expecting a good night of sleep. should make for a fun Friday.

a great way to start the weekend

i'm a pretty intense guy when it comes to the things i love. i'm one of those assholes who wears his passions on his sleeves and has no problem being "that" guy. while watching Dayton play at Rhode Island last night, i thought of the number of times that shit state school had destroyed a Dayton could have been great season and wondered if Dayton had it in them to return the favor. it was a miracle Dayton was only down by 6 at halftime. they couldn't put the damn ball in the ocean if they tried. and then they played the second half 5 on 8 as Rhode Island was shooting free throws for the last 13 minutes of the game. amazingly, Dayton is full of guys this year that don't give two shits about all the obstacles in front of them. Xeyrius Williams hit two gigantic 3's in the last 30 seconds to give Dayton the win, 75-74. oh, i enjoyed the fuck out of that victory.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

NJPW was excellent last night. i don't think i could ever get tired of watching Will Ospreay wrestle.

Real Time with Bill Maher last night was great. it also showed why Piers Morgan is still a cunt.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Colorado. with a win they will complete a sweep of the 4 game homestand.

Manchester United played one of their best first halves i have seen them play this season today against Watford. chance after chance and finally a goal from Juan Mata. they sat back more in the second half but were able to get a goal from Anthony Martial on a wonderful counterattack. job done, 2-0 win. all 3 points. exactly what they needed.

i will be on here probably tomorrow morning. Sunday is going to be a giant clusterfuck between the Sunday night shows, the Grammy Awards and the Elimination Chamber ppv. a good night to have insomnia i guess.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

leave it up to the rain...

when i was watching tv last night and these flood warnings started popping up, i was like what the fuck... i went to look outside and nothing was going on. well, when i woke up at 7 this morning and every part of my body was stiff (sick minds), i knew it had to have rained overnight. sure enough, everything outside looked that extra deep shade of green when something in the summer becomes waterlogged. hopefully the sun comes out at some point today, mostly because i'd like to know if the cheap ass solar lights we got yesterday actually work or not.

outside of the sadness from last night's Yankees game (click here for the report on a fan falling to his death), i was very happy to see Severino pitch so well once again. he's definitely turning into a pitcher the team can rely on down the stretch. the offense provided just enough and the bullpen shut the door late. 3-1 win to stay 1 1/2 games behind Toronto in the division. they go for the sweep this afternoon.

ROH was excellent last night. i know it really was as i was tired as fuck and it kept me up for the entire hour. i especially liked Cheeseburger winning and the main event was great. next week should be even better.

alright kids, time for some music:

and now some of this and that:

Manchester United plays Swansea today. seeing that they lost to them twice last season, hopefully today is a bit of revenge.

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Ray Donovan, Masters of Sex and The Strain.

i might watch a bit of the New Orleans Saints today. i'm not a big fan of the NFL preseason, but since my fantasy draft is fast approaching, i need to watch in case of injuries.

other than that, today will be mostly soccer, resting, helping around the house and hopefully enjoying multiple victory beers.

i hope everyone is having a great weekend. plenty of time left to save it in case yesterday was one for the shitter. besides, a good Sunday usually involves getting drunk and pissing off someone. at least that's how i remember my 20's.

creativity strikes me right between the eyes

in my sophisticated white trash upbringing, one of the phrases i would always hear about would be about a wild hair getting up your ass. i suppose, you could say that happened to me today. i turned on some music, poured myself a glass of lemonade and went to an extremely dark place in my head. 20 minutes later i had 6 poems written. i haven't typed any up yet, just in case something else pops into my head. but, after reading a few of them, i think i may have some really great shit on my hands. now there's a visual. hopefully i bang out a few more of them by the weekend.

the New York Yankees pissed away a 6-2 lead last night to lose 8-6 in extra innings. they play again tonight in Washington to hopefully split the series. there's little to no chance i'll watch any of the game.

The Voice went exactly as i expected it to last night. i even got the order of the top 4 correct this year. i really wanted Meghan to win, but i know that the housewives look at Sawyer as fresh meat. i might like him more once his voice gets a little bass in it.

Deadliest Catch last night was great and sad at the same time. heroin addiction is one of the worst things on earth. and to see it played out like that on television was pretty riveting and sad.

David Letterman had a fucking great show last night. first, you can never have a better guest than Bill Murray:

and then end it with something magical and strange:

i can't wait to see what happens tonight on the final show. i'm sure i will laugh as much as i cry. i've been a Letterman fan since i stayed up WAY past my bed time to watch him when i was like 7 or 8 years old. that's over 30 years. and i know some of my crazy sense of humor comes from Dave. hopefully the final show tonight is a classic.

tonight is a true clusterfuck for me on television. all at the same time: New York Rangers play Game 3 down in Tampa, a new episode of Lucha Underground (thank god i have a DVR now) AND NXT: Takeover Unstoppable on the WWE Network. i will probably have to watch wrestling later in the night due to the hockey. of course, if the Rangers play like shit once again and take stupid penalty after stupid penalty, i'll gladly switch over to the wrestling.

speaking of wrestling, i urge everyone to check out this podcast when you get a chance:
listen on iTunes, Stitcher, the RSS you can find on the right hand side of this blog, or at notsam.com. it is a fascinating interview with my favorite wrestler of the last decade.

here's some comedy for you on a fucking gloomy day:

and in case if that wasn't enough videos for you:

the Sacramento Kings will be picking 6th in the NBA Draft this year. at least they didn't get shifted down like most years. and this is going to be a deep draft. they should be able to get someone that will help immediately at number 6.

that's all for me today. i don't think the sun has come out at all today. good times.

one of those days where all people suck

before i get to another wonderful rant...

welcome to the 16th day of National Poetry Month. we are back to me being lazy and just posting three random YouTube videos. enjoy:

i went over to the farm today to get done what mom didn't want to do yesterday. some fucking genius locked both locks to the door that i have only the key for the deadbolt. just what i needed. my blood pressure flying through the roof and my anger to the point where killing anything would be justified in my mind. i'm going to head back over and try the other doors with mom's keys after she gets done with her work call.

my sister decided to go see my father. i haven't heard how that adventure went. i decided doing my laundry was more important.

Lucha Underground was excellent once again last night. here are some highlights:

NXT was good but a little short last night. the main event though was very good and entertaining:

the NHL playoffs got off to a very entertaining start. hopefully the New York Rangers will have an easier time with it tonight against Pittsburgh. i have the Rangers winning in 5 games. hopefully i'm wrong and they do it in four.

the Yankees lost another series last night- 7-5. sadly, the oldest guy on the team is the only one really hitting at the moment. plus, since the starters can't go very long it seems, the bullpen is getting used way too much this early. thankfully, they are off tonight. they start a series in that dump in Tampa on Friday.

i did watch most of the team USA friendly with Mexico last night. the field was absolutely horrendous. but, i did enjoy another dos a cero classic. here are the goals:

at least i got to enjoy one victory beer last night.

tonight on the DVR will be The Big Bang Theory, The Comedians and Louie. i will hopefully watch all those after a Rangers victory tonight.

that's all for me today. there's another storm rolling in, so my body is aching like a motherfucker. enjoy the visual.

hope this finds everyone naked and wondering why the magic markers are where they are.

running on empty

i think i may have got around 4 or 5 hours sleep tops for the entire weekend. so, instead of being smart and sleeping this dreary Monday away, i'm up and writing a blog entry. got the Dan Patrick Show on the television and they are taking off the rest of the corn at the moment. hopefully they get it all off before it SNOWS later today.

i had a mixed day yesterday fantasy football wise. i'm somehow losing by 11 to a team that has 1 win this season (not very fucking happy about that) and i'm up by almost 90 points in the other one. guess which one i think i have a good chance of winning...

the New York Rangers played an interesting game last night. i was in and out of it because of all of the other stuff i was watching at the same time. thankfully, they won. here are the highlights:

my Sunday morning started off with Manchester United playing their best game of the season beating Arsenal 1-0. i always love when RvP sticks it to his old team. plus, now they are only 5 points back and sitting in 5th place in the league. below is the only goal of the game. kudos to whomever posted this on the net.

the Sunday night shows were excellent last night. Boardwalk Empire continues to be one of the best shows on. Eastbound and Down was fucking hilarious. can't wait to the series finale next week. Homeland was great as well. and Masters of Sex had another very strong episode. Total Divas was pretty damn funny. i love the behind the scenes shit, especially in the world of pro wrestling.

hopefully my day today consists of a long nap, some writing, and then my night in front of the television. Monday Night Raw, The Voice, and a Monday Night Football game that i unfortunately have to pay attention to. and i really don't want to.

if i do get lucky enough to write a few poems today, i'll type them up today as well. i don't see me going outside much given the cold blast getting ready to hit here.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. happy Veteran's Day here in the states. happy Monday to the rest of the world.

the dog days of summer are finally here

nothing like walking out this morning and it's in the mid 80's with the humidity so thick you could wear it. finally, the summer in Ohio i always remember. a thunderstorm is possible every other 10 minutes and the patience of everyone is absolutely gone.

and speaking of rain, it hasn't rained here in 11 days or so. the crops still look amazing, but i wouldn't mind a few sprinkles here soon.

the Yankees got a well pitched game from Phil Hughes last night (shockingly) and got a walk off single from Jayson Nix (first of his career) to sweep the doubleheader 3-2. they are getting a spot start from Adam Warren tonight so i'm hoping the bats decide to help the kid out and score more than 5 runs.

i watched most of the Chelsea game this afternoon. i would have loved to see them stumble, but of course they didn't. it sets up a huge game Monday afternoon at Manchester United. that will be a juicy one for a home opener.

Hard Knocks last night was great. the highlight of the rookie show was from a guy who went to the high school i went to. i laughed my ass off. they definitely are going to have some tough cuts to make this season.

the usual Wednesday night television is on tap for tonight. a little Big Brother, even though i pretty much know everything that is going to happen. Duck Dynasty is quickly becoming my guilty little pleasure. and of course, the best show on tv, The Bridge. i really hope it's as great as the last 15 minutes were last week.

got a few ideas for the 3 poems i need to write for the artist in Sweden. he also wants me to look for some unpublished short poems. that ought to be a fun journey into failure. might be a late night coming one of these next few days.

i had this song blasting in my head while i was cleaning the toilets this afternoon. i don't know why.

that's all for today.

after the storms and the heat wave

a massive cold front moved through here yesterday. we had a few storms out here at the farm. enough that the satellite kept going in and out. a perfect time for me to catch up on my sleep. i must have slept for a few hours. we got mostly rain during that time, no damage that i could see. i spent the rest of yesterday mostly watching soccer, Gold Cup, MLS, Mexican First Division, etc, etc.

amazingly, the Yankees played a good game yesterday and won 5-2. figures, since i wasn't able to watch it. i did see the highlights, which included this amazing double play
they play tonight to try to win the series. i'll watch a little of it. if they keep winning without me watching my superstitious ass will have to abide. of course, by the time my Sunday night shows are over they might still be playing.

another great episode of ROH last night. it certainly did the trick to make me want to see what happens next week.

i was really hoping the cold front was going to break all this fucking humidity we have here. but, it has stalled and now the air is thicker than shit outside. it was like wearing a sweater when i went out to feed the cats this morning. so, another day inside i suppose.

i'm really looking forward to seeing team USA play today in Gold Cup action. i would love to see them extend the longest winning streak in national team history. i feel pretty good that they will be able to do so. i believe the game is on FOX today.

tonight will be the usual viewing of Big Brother, The Newsroom and Ray Donovan. hopefully all 3 are good.

since i have really caught up on my sleep now, i figure i will be up late tonight. i'm hoping to maybe crank out a few poems.

hope everyone is having a good weekend.

where nostalgia meets apathy

this weekend has been misery for a ginger with sensitive skin. i'm not a real big fan of heat and humidity. i decided to do mother nature a solid yesterday and mow the grass after 5 pm. i was pretty pleased i was able to get it done before the sun went down. now, hopefully mother nature returns the favor and gives us a little rain in one of the next 5 days we have a chance.

after my shower last night i settled down to eat some pizza and watch some hockey. quite frankly, neither one of them excited me much. i was happy to see Boston lose though.

a quick hello to the muse, i do hope your allergies subside and life gets a little easier for you this evening. best of luck finding some new music.

the Yankees had a chance today to win the series against Tampa. and seeing that it was Old Timers' Day, i was feeling pretty good. of course, the offense the Yankees had found in the previous 2 wins didn't show up today. hell, i think the old timers had more offense actually. but, that's Yankee baseball in 2013, where nostalgia meets apathy. a day off tomorrow before a series with Texas.

i did watch a good bit of soccer this weekend. the Confederations Cup is down to a pretty good final four. Brazil vs. Uruguay and Italy vs. Spain. that will be some must see television coming up in a few days.

not exactly sure what i'll be watching tonight other than Veep. i suppose i might watch the guy trying to walk across the Grand Canyon, or i just might go write instead. not sure.

i do hope everyone has had a great weekend.

doom and gloom on a Sunday morning

it's supposed to rain on and off all day long. one of those morning where my back is really tight. one of those mornings where you hope a few victory beers gets you through the day.

the New York Rangers finished off their regular season yesterday with a tidy 4-0 win over the Devils. with that win and some help, they ended up 6th in the conference and will play Washington in the playoffs for the 4th time in the last 5 years. just a bit of hatred has built up between the two teams. should be interesting to say the least. highlights from yesterday below:

the New York Yankees won again yesterday with a growing theme for this season. fall behind early, come all the way back, hold on for dear life. a nail biting 5-4 win. it was nice to see Travis Hafner actually play against a lefty for a change, and holy shit, drives in 4 of the 5 runs. rocket science. they go for the sweep later today.

Manchester United plays at Arsenal here in a little bit. i'm interested to see how interested the team actually is, considering the title is already won. not that i want them to win any less. today marks the return of RvP to his old stomping grounds. that could get ugly.

the poet of the day on my Google+ page is David Chorlton. i've been published with David numerous times and have always enjoyed his work. find some for yourself and enjoy.

i imagine the rest of my day will consist of some NBA playoffs, some sleep, the Sunday night shows, getting off my lazy ass to get the trash out, feed the cats and birds in the rain, and eventually do the dishes. fun.
