up early for nothing...

so, i was under the impression that Orkin was going to be out here today and get up into the attic to see what the squirrels did now. when i went out to get the mail, i noticed the traps were in different places. so, i decided to go over to the side of the house where the squirrels had been getting in before. sure enough, there were two traps up on the roof. so, i told mom that Orkin had must have been here for those traps to get up on the roof. mind you, we haven't heard anything in the attic for almost 2 weeks now. part of me thinks Orkin doesn't want to get in the attic and see the damage because they will have to do the whole damn job over for free since there was a lifetime guarantee. so, after a few phone calls, my hunch was correct and i guess mom told them they have to get out here tomorrow. fun times.

i did watch some of both Game 7's yesterday in the NBA. i was pleasantly shocked that both road teams won. so, the conference finals are now set. Pacers at Celtics and Dallas at Minnesota.

there is a Game 7 tonight in the NHL. Edmonton at Vancouver. i am going to try to watch some of that.

the New York Yankees won yesterday at home to sweep the White Sox, 7-2. they start a series tonight at home against Seattle.

the finale of A Gentleman in Moscow was excellent last night.

The Chi was very good last night.

The Sympathizer was really good last night.

The Jinx Part 2 was crazy last night. the finale is next week.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT.

it felt like it was raining all the time yesterday...

and finally, at night, it did rain. it rained most of the night. i think i finally fell asleep around 4 when it finally stopped to mostly just a drizzle. on those days, my arthritis feels like an elephant has climbed on me for shits and giggles. fun times.

i did get up in time to see Manchester United win this morning. they won 1-0 at Bournemouth. add that with Liverpool dropping points this morning, United now only needs 1 point in their last two matches to officially qualify for the Champions League next season. and with the clean sheet today, David De Gea won the golden glove for the best keeper in the Premier League.

the New York Yankees won last night in Cincinnati, 6-2. hopefully, they will win again today.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night.

AEW Rampage was pretty good last night.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night.

the season finale of A Black Lady Sketch Show was fucking hilarious last night.

i will probably watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight.

i will most likely watch The Preakness Stakes today as well.

i definitely plan on watching Columbus vs. FC Cincinnati today in the MLS.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow, before the Yankees play before noon.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. thankfully, i think all the rain has moved out, so it should be nice and sunny here today.

so this is what it feels like to watch your soul die...

so, right as i was finishing up the blog yesterday, mom fell again. i told her that i was going to do her laundry after i got my blog done. being the stubborn person she is, she tried to get her clothes together and into where we have our washer and dryer. and of course, she knelt down to pick up something up and down she went. i was able to help her better this time, mostly because she did it in her bedroom and not her bathroom. i told her it wasn't wise to start a career as a stunt lady at her age. she has got some pretty nasty bruises. so now i get to end her nights by applying Aspercreme wherever it hurts. at least that shit works better than the pain pills do. fingers crossed, she has managed to not fall today. 3 times in a week is way too much for my liking.

the Yankees lost yesterday to Baltimore, 9-6. the injury bug snuck up again yesterday and the home plate umpire thought everyone was there to see him. a recipe for disaster every fucking time. they are back home tonight to start a series against the White Sox.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

NXT UK was pretty good last night.

the season finale of Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.

the series finale of The United States of Al was funny, although you could tell they had no clue they were going to be cancelled.

both episodes of the series finale of How We Roll were pretty good last night. with how that ended, i'm pretty sure they thought season 2 was coming as well.

Vice News Tonight had two great shows this week that showed just how fucking corrupt the Louisville, Kentucky police department is. of course, i'm pretty sure most police departments are like that.

the season finale of Atlanta was fucking amazing last night.

NJPW was good last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage, Real Time with Bill Maher, Pause with Sam Jay and George Carlin's American Dream, Part 1. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

the New York Rangers play Game 2 tonight at Carolina. i'm really hoping the Rangers play 60 minutes tonight and win.

i did get some baseball cards while i was at Rite Aid last night. $11 for 2 boxes. there was about $30 total of worth between both of them combined. not bad.

the Yankees game just got rained out. so, they will be playing a doubleheader on Sunday now against the White Sox.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm about halfway done my with my laundry and i still have 1 load of mom's to do. and at some point tonight, i need to cook dinner and do the dishes.

mom and i had an interesting conversation last night. she believes her sudden turn in shitty health is due to that certain someone and i not getting along any more. i told mom that i was preached to my entire life that choices have consequences. and now that she made her choice, mom doesn't want her to face any consequences. if i had known that all of this, choices and consequences, was hypocritical bullshit, just imagine where i would be now. i understand that no one gives two shits about anything i have missed out on to help my stepfather or my mother as they got older in life. that certain someone has made it painfully clear, that since i don't make money and make a positive contribution to the world, i don't get to have a say or rights or anything in this world. i would like to think differently, but society reaffirms her beliefs more often than mine.

i told my mother i don't want to see her die like this. no matter what the fuck she thinks, i am trying to give her the best quality of life i can. so yeah, nothing but fun as usual going on here.

i just had a load in the dryer get done, so that's all for me kids...

Corey Kluber...

so, when i saw the Yankees score last night, i think it was around the 5th inning, i noticed that Texas hadn't got a hit yet. i told mom that we might be turning over to the game soon. she asked why and i told her Corey Kluber was tossing a no-no. i watched the last 9 outs of the game. i was so fucking thrilled when he got that final out. that was the Yankees first no hitter this century. the last one they had was when David Cone threw a perfect game back in 1999. now, the last 3 times the Yankees have thrown a no hitter or perfect game in a season, they went on to win the World Series that year. i wouldn't mind if that happened again. the Yankees won last night, 2-0. they go for the series win this afternoon.

i did watch a good portion of the Lakers vs. Warriors game last night. that was easily the best of the play in games so far.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night.

The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.

AEW was excellent last night.

i did hear back from Punk Noir Magazine on my recent poetry submission. they rejected the poems i sent but did ask me to send to them again sometime. i really want to be published by them, so it's back to the drawing board.

i was going to do my laundry today, but i don't think my back can take that right now.

i get the feeling i'm going to be in my massage chair most of the day, watching sports and getting up for new ice packs out of the freezer. good times.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

at least it stopped raining long enough to...

thankfully, the rain that was supposed to come overnight never did. it was much colder today, but at least i was able to get everything i needed to do done. the grocery store got a little pricey today as i had to get mom some Zyrtec. that put me well over $100. i did finally get to go to the bank and deposit the two checks i had. i also filled up the Highlander today. always good when you can get gas for .87 cents a gallon.

The Voice was good last night. i wasn't shocked that Todd won. he certainly was though.

the season finale of Dark Side of the Ring last night was excellent. i cried for most of it as Owen Hart was one my favorites.

WWE Backstage was pretty good last night.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

The Masked Singer last night was the best of performances from this season. the season finale is tonight.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NXT, AEW, the season finale of The Masked Singer and What We Do in the Shadows.

the rain is supposed to be back in the area after midnight. so, that basically means i won't sleep for shit tonight.

i do plan on doing my laundry tomorrow. so, i'll probably be on here after that.

mom had me order Pizza Hut last night. i find it funny that she got all that damn meat from Omaha Steaks and now she can't decide what she wants. you know, funny in the why the fuck did you waste that money kind of way.

i didn't get my new hummingbird feeder yet. i figure with all this damn rain, not reason to rush to get one just yet.

until tomorrow kids...

stay healthy.

creativity strikes me right between the eyes

in my sophisticated white trash upbringing, one of the phrases i would always hear about would be about a wild hair getting up your ass. i suppose, you could say that happened to me today. i turned on some music, poured myself a glass of lemonade and went to an extremely dark place in my head. 20 minutes later i had 6 poems written. i haven't typed any up yet, just in case something else pops into my head. but, after reading a few of them, i think i may have some really great shit on my hands. now there's a visual. hopefully i bang out a few more of them by the weekend.

the New York Yankees pissed away a 6-2 lead last night to lose 8-6 in extra innings. they play again tonight in Washington to hopefully split the series. there's little to no chance i'll watch any of the game.

The Voice went exactly as i expected it to last night. i even got the order of the top 4 correct this year. i really wanted Meghan to win, but i know that the housewives look at Sawyer as fresh meat. i might like him more once his voice gets a little bass in it.

Deadliest Catch last night was great and sad at the same time. heroin addiction is one of the worst things on earth. and to see it played out like that on television was pretty riveting and sad.

David Letterman had a fucking great show last night. first, you can never have a better guest than Bill Murray:

and then end it with something magical and strange:

i can't wait to see what happens tonight on the final show. i'm sure i will laugh as much as i cry. i've been a Letterman fan since i stayed up WAY past my bed time to watch him when i was like 7 or 8 years old. that's over 30 years. and i know some of my crazy sense of humor comes from Dave. hopefully the final show tonight is a classic.

tonight is a true clusterfuck for me on television. all at the same time: New York Rangers play Game 3 down in Tampa, a new episode of Lucha Underground (thank god i have a DVR now) AND NXT: Takeover Unstoppable on the WWE Network. i will probably have to watch wrestling later in the night due to the hockey. of course, if the Rangers play like shit once again and take stupid penalty after stupid penalty, i'll gladly switch over to the wrestling.

speaking of wrestling, i urge everyone to check out this podcast when you get a chance:
listen on iTunes, Stitcher, the RSS you can find on the right hand side of this blog, or at notsam.com. it is a fascinating interview with my favorite wrestler of the last decade.

here's some comedy for you on a fucking gloomy day:

and in case if that wasn't enough videos for you:

the Sacramento Kings will be picking 6th in the NBA Draft this year. at least they didn't get shifted down like most years. and this is going to be a deep draft. they should be able to get someone that will help immediately at number 6.

that's all for me today. i don't think the sun has come out at all today. good times.

trying my best to escape the heat

the heat index is supposed to be in the low 90's today. so much for spring. i actually turned on the air conditioning last night when the house was damn near 80 degrees and outside was like 74. hopefully the cats are smart enough to drink the water and enjoy the shade.

the Yankees got rained out yesterday, so that opened up my schedule a bit. they start a series in Baltimore tonight. the rain out allowed them to change around their pitching for the series. hopefully it works.

Manchester United played a very exciting (if you enjoy 10 goals being scored) match yesterday against West Brom. a 5-5 draw. i would have loved the game if a late winner would have come in Fergie time. that would have been a great way to go out. but alas, the greatest manager in the history of sports steps aside. so now the silly season can begin. i will be interested to see who David Moyes targets to be on the team next season. hopefully it's mostly midfielders and defenders. if those spots get better quickly, i don't think Moyes has to worry about letting the fans down anytime soon.

the New York Rangers had their asses handed to them yesterday in a 5-2 loss to go down 2-0 to Boston. how a 2-2 game became me being completely fucking silent by the end of it was miserable to say the least. as much as i hope the MSG crowd gets them going, the cynic in me is winning. game 3 is a MUST WIN game to say the least.

i did enjoy Nurse Jackie and Veep last night. i'm trying to give Family Tree a chance but i found myself watching tornado news instead. not a good sign.

my writing session went pretty good last night. i wrote 5 poems. first time writing in almost a month. i typed them up earlier this afternoon and really believe i have a few gems in the mix now. i will try to get a few submissions out later this week.

judging from the reports i read last night and this morning, i guess i will be paying a little more attention to Monday Night Raw this evening. i'm really happy that The Shield all have titles now. definitely a step in the right direction. now, get a healthy CM Punk back and you'll have my undivided attention.

The Voice is back on tonight. i'm sure my mom will have it on in the other room. so, i will get to work on my hearing tonight. if something excites the ears, i'll flip to it. if not, looks like i'll be watching YouTube in the morning.

i'll spend the rest of my time trying to escape the heat. and it's not even the hell months out here on the farm. i've got floors to sweep, toilets to clean, and a cooling shower to take. i might even figure out what poems are going where. all depends on how long this impending nap lasts.
