humans suck...

before i get into my rant about why it should never take 30 fucking minutes to get through a bank drive-thru, a little poetry news to get to first.

i sent out 10 poems this morning; 5 each to Fourth & Sycamore and Duane's PoeTree. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:

and here are a couple of links to some poems you should be reading:
http://redeftreview.blogspot.com/2020/04/corona-afternoon-by-richard-martin.html
http://ryethewhiskeyreview.blogspot.com/2020/04/crave-by-susan-tepper.html

i went to the bank and sat in the line for the drive-thru for over 30 fucking minutes. most of the delay was due to one woman sending the tube back and forth four fucking times. i know humanity is mostly fucking stupid, but fuck me. after that fiasco, i had to go to Meijer to try to find some shit my mother wanted. of course, they were out of it. thankfully, i did find the shower spray refill i was looking for and some hand soap refill as well. and since i have been without sports for such a long time, i said fuck it and bought some baseball cards. the first pack i opened had the rookie cards of Bo Bichette and Gavin Lux in them. that should pay for both packs i bought plus some.

NXT was good last night.

AEW was good last night.

The Masked Singer was good last night.

both episodes of What We Do in the Shadows last night were fucking brilliant.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Sheldon, Will & Grace, Indebted, Better Things, Cake, Desus & Mero, Total Bellas and Shelter in Place w/Shane Smith. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i guess there is a chance for snow tomorrow. my mother told me that and i said i'm not leaving the house tomorrow, for anything. i'm sure she's going to ask me to go get something, probably just to fuck with me.

i do plan on releasing another SoundCloud recording in the morning tomorrow.

i will probably do the second blog in the afternoon sometime.

i hope everyone is well.

stay healthy...

Good Friday...

it got down into the 30's last night. good thing i turned the furnace back on in the afternoon or the damn thing would have run all night. i'm hoping the damn wind will die down here soon. that makes it feel even colder than what it is. so much for that early Spring.

mom had me go out and get Taco Bell for lunch today. she has talked about her sense of smell leaving the last few days. i asked her if she could actually taste the food. i'm hoping she is telling me the truth when she said yes as i know damn well the two likely signs of COVID-19 are losing your sense of smell and taste.

she's been on a cleaning rampage today. and of course, i will have to listen to her complain about being in pain all tonight. joy.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. if you are religious, don't go to church and hope your church is smart enough to know how to livestream the service. if you aren't religious, hope you enjoy the candy.

so i decided to do the shopping one day early...

i thought it would be less crowded at the stores. of course, i guess everyone else had the same damn thought. thankfully, i did find everything that mom had on the list for the most part.

i did take a shower yesterday and i felt a little better. of course, i then checked my email and had 3 poems rejected. Corey at Red Eft Review said that one of the poems came really close... too bad this isn't fucking horseshoes... oh well.

The Masked Singer was good last night.

NXT was really good last night.

AEW was excellent last night.

we had some really strong storms roll through here last night. i was amazed the power never went out and neither did the satellite.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Will & Grace, Indebted, Vice News Tonight, Better Things, Cake, Total Bellas, Desus & Mero and two episodes of Shelter in Place w/Shane Smith. i did watch NXT UK this afternoon. it was a look back on the past 3 years of matches. i'm assuming they never got the chance to film a ton of matches ahead of time to have new material during this lockdown.

i watched this woman try to pull a scam today at the grocery store. it was painfully obvious that she didn't know how to do it correctly. she was walking around looking for her cart and told one of the bag boys that it was right here and then wanted to see a manager. well, the manager happened to be the cashier of the checkout lane i was in. she looked at the woman's receipt and said this isn't even a Kroger receipt. i knew right then and there what trick she was trying to pull. i'm not sure why you would try to pass a Family Dollar receipt as one from Kroger, or why you would ask to speak to a manager when all you were trying to do was get some free food.

as i will say a million times, this is why i will probably never move from this state. the poems just write themselves.

i went to bed around 2 last night. i felt fucking refreshed when i woke up. i looked at the clock and it said 4:10. fuck me. i'm not sure why i even bother anymore.

i believe my sister is coming down on Easter Sunday. i got a nice ham for that dinner. she's happy since she thinks she will be taking some home with her.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'd love to say i'm going to sleep in and lounge around, etc. etc. but anyone who knows me knows that's not going to fucking happen.

until tomorrow kids...

the joy of finding toilet paper...

of course, it couldn't be the toilet paper i wanted, but shit, it will do. and mom got a bunch of wipes sent to the house today. so, we're set for the next month or so i think. i did get everything on the grocery list today. took going to 3 different stores to do it. i did get a good laugh when i was in Family Dollar. they were talking about the woman that was leaving the store when i was walking in. apparently, that was her third time in the store that day. mind you, this was before noon. she changed her clothes and came back twice. all for toilet paper and cleaning supplies. the joy of living in a town full of Republicans. everyone here is hoarding everything. fucking assholes.

Total Bellas was pretty good last night.

Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.

Indebted was funny last night.

our grass got cut today. it was nice enough out that i actually opened up the house a bit.

i managed to shave a bit and get the fucking hair off of my neck before i took a shower today. amazingly, i think the barber shop in town is still open. surprised no one has told the state about that.

Obi Toppin and Anthony Grant pulled off another double trophy take again. both won the Naismith Coach and Player of the Year.

i should be on here early tomorrow. it will definitely be before the first night of WrestleMania 36 starts.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully the weather is nice enough you can get outside for a bit and do something.

i know i said i was going to do a new SoundCloud recording today. sometimes life just gets in the fucking way of my creativity. that being said, since insomnia is running my life at the moment, expect something in the middle of the fucking night.

The Masked Singer was pretty good last night. i have known who the white tiger has been since the first episode of the season.

NXT was really good last night, especially the main event.

AEW was really good last night as well.

i did watch NXT UK this afternoon. it was really good.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Young Sheldon, Total Bellas, Cake, Better Things, Indebted, Desus & Mero and Vice News Tonight.

i'm not really looking forward to grocery shopping tomorrow. the weather is supposed to be pretty nice, which probably means more people than there should be will be out tomorrow. and i'm sure by the time i get to the store, the elderly will have ransacked the fucking place.

i've got 3 checks i need to write tonight to pay down some credit card bills and i know i need to get some writing done and some recording done.

so yeah, that's all for me kids.

i hope everyone is doing well and is staying as healthy as possible.

i'm used to the misery...

it's been raining on and off all day so far. the heavy shit is supposed to come tonight. i'm hoping it arrives long after all the shit i'm recording has been recorded to the DVR.

i took mom to pick up her taxes today. i asked her if she wanted to go grocery shopping after that. i was sort of shocked when she said yes. we got everything at the local grocery store. thank fucking god we still have toilet paper. there isn't a damn store around here that has any. when we came out of the store, the rain had started back up. joy.

NXT UK was really good last night.

it took 9 episodes, but Indebted was finally fucking hilarious last night.

Better Things was really good last night.

Cake was funny as always last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, High Maintenance and the season finale of The Trade. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

amazingly, it didn't rain today...

i say that because there is some rain on the way, at least that's what these old bones of mine are saying.

i had to drive mom to her bank today to deposit some checks. thankfully, they built a little satellite office one town over. so, now i won't have to drive her all the way out to the next damn county. after that, i had to drive her to her accountant so she could give him her tax info. she always likes getting them done as soon as possible. of course, she's been up the last 2 days going nuts over all the paperwork. joy.

after that, mom wanted to try the new Hardee's in town. i probably haven't ate at a Hardee's in over 20 years. we waited in the drive thru for over 20 minutes, mostly because the woman 2 cars in front of me must have ordered the whole damn menu. i swear she got 3 bags of food and 2 damn boxes. fuck me. all we got was two burgers and some onion rings. it was good, a little pricey, but good. at least there's another option in this town.

today was supposed to be opening day in MLB. i have no damn clue when sports will exist again in this country.

The Masked Singer was pretty good last night.

NXT was good last night.

AEW was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be 2 episodes of Indebted, Better Things and Cake. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i was pleasantly surprised when i woke up this morning and realized there was 2 new Nine Inch Nails albums released and they were FREE. Ghosts V and V1 are both excellent. available at https://nin.com

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done. i'm hoping i can get all of it done at the local grocery store, but i'm not counting on that.

welcome to the first weekend of Spring...

we got 2 inches of rain last night. it was in the 60's today but very windy. and of course, since it's Ohio, the temps are going to drop 40 fucking degrees by tomorrow. joy.

i did all of the grocery shopping today at the local grocery store. i was able to find most of what was on the list. it's a little more expensive than Kroger's, but at least i was able to find shit like bread, cheese, tissues, etc. i managed to keep it under $100, so i'm happy with that. i explained to mom last night that we might have to spend a bit more on shit during this pandemic. mostly because capitalism is as fucking evil as possible.

NXT UK was really good last night.

Will & Grace was hilarious last night.

Indebted was good last night.

Better Things was great last night.

Cake was awesome last night.

i'm hoping to get some writing done this weekend. i don't think i'm dealing with writer's block or fucking apathy, i just know i haven't had any ideas come to me and light a damn fire here recently. i'm really hoping that changes this weekend.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow.

and now, the monsoon...

we had a little over an inch of rain yesterday. we're supposed to get closer to 2 inches of rain today. joy.

i was hoping to get all my running around done before the rain started, but of course that didn't happen.

i made it to the bank and made my deposit. and then i went to get my sunglasses. they called this morning and acted like they had been there for months. i bitched the lady out and told her i called last month and was told they weren't there. so, i went and got them today since the office is going to be closed for the next 2 weeks. i waited in the waiting room for 30 minutes before i got to go in and get the sunglasses. by the time i got out, it had started raining. joy. i had to go to the grocery store to pick up my medications. that was another 30 minutes out of my life i'll never get back. after that, mom wanted me to go get lunch in town. thankfully, all the drive-thrus are still open.

i swear, it's always fucking something...

i'm pretty much over my sinus infection. i have had to take medicine only once today. that's a good sign.

The Masked Singer was good last night. sadly, the satellite fucked up and i lost 7 minutes of everything i was recording. thankfully, i didn't miss much of anything.

NXT was more of a clip show last night. it was a pretty good buildup for the next Takeover.

AEW was really fucking good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Will & Grace, Indebted, Better Things and Cake. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i'm not sure if i'm going grocery shopping tomorrow or not. fuck, i'm not sure any of the stores around here have shit anymore.

once the rain finally gets done it's supposed to get cold again. oh yeah, happy first day of Spring.

that's all for me kids. i need to go ice down a bad back.

karma never loses...

so when the news broke last night that one of the players on the Utah Jazz had the coronavirus, i knew it was a game changer. basketball is such a sport that this kind of shit can easily be given to anyone close, either on the court, in the stands, etc. the NBA had no choice but to suspend its season and i knew that would start the snowball downhill. now, when i found out the player on the Jazz was fucking around with his teammates, touching their shit, making fun of it, i just shook my head. karma never loses. too many fucking idiots will never learn that.

then the conference tournaments in college basketball started cancelling their games. and i knew my worst nightmare wasn't far away. March Madness isn't happening this year. as a Dayton Flyers fan, given the season they have had, 29-2, 18-0 in conference, probably going to be a #1 seed for the first time in school history. etc. etc. etc. i feel so sad for the players, the coaching staff, everyone involved. this season was a fucking dream. and this ending is only a reminder that there is no such thing as a happy ending.

i did hear from the NCAA today. my refund should appear on my credit card in the next 30 business days.

the New York Rangers lost in OT last night in Colorado, 3-2. that put them just two points out of a playoff spot. of course, the NHL followed the NBA's lead and suspended its season this morning.

the MLB is pushing back the start of the regular season 2 weeks.

i think the XFL is done, MLS suspended their season for 30 days, and now i'm just waiting to see if/when WrestleMania will get postponed.

this virus is like a punch to the dick to all my sports. fuck me.

Manchester United won today in the Europa League 5-0 over in an empty stadium in Austria. i watched on a feed out of the Middle East. i'm really happy with the victory as they now can play the kids in the second leg at home.

The Masked Singer was crazy last night.

NXT was excellent last night.

AEW was really good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Sheldon, the season finale of The Unicorn, Will & Grace, Indebted, Better Things, Cake and Desus & Mero.

i watched NXT UK this afternoon, it was really good.

i imagine i will be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done. given the hysteria and panic the asshole that runs this shit show has placed upon this new dystopian society, i can't wait for the fucking circus tomorrow.

that's all for me kids. we've got rain in the area and my bones are like a fucking heroin addict in need of a fix at the moment.

never been so happy to be wrong...

the Dayton Flyers went into Rhode Island last night and whipped the shit out of them on their senior night. Dayton won 84-57. i was laughing my ass off for most of the game, especially knowing that Rhode Island needed to win the game if they really wanted any chance of going to the NCAA Tournament. Dayton plays this Saturday at home for their senior night against George Washington. if they win, they will go 18-0 in the A10 and finish 29-2 for the regular season. what a time to be fucking alive.

NXT was really good last night.

Miz & Mrs was fucking hilarious last night.

AEW was fucking great last night.

The Masked Singer was good last night.

Vice News Tonight was excellent. i'm so happy the show is back on television again.

enjoy some music:

mom's doctor's appointment went well today. i didn't get the chance to write any poems, as she wanted me to go back with her. after her appointment, she had to get some bloodwork done. that went pretty quick. after that, we went to lunch at Perkins. i had a 20% off coupon that i remembered to bring with me.

Manchester United defeated Derby County 3-0 today in the FA Cup. they are now in the quarterfinals. next up this weekend will be the Manchester Derby.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Washington. i'm hoping the boys can get a win tonight, but i'm not holding my breath.
