in late July, i'm used to the air you can wear and breaking into a sweat walking down the driveway to get the paper. today, i was able to turn off the air conditioner, open some windows, actually do some work outside and not die of a heat stroke.
i took mom out shopping today. it had been months since we had been to Menards. she had some rebates to use and i had a list of shit we needed. we found most of what we were looking for. after that, we went to Waffle House. she needed a place where she could sit and relax for a bit.
i got the trash done before working on this.
the New York Yankees left a small village on base last night and lost at Minnesota, 8-6. hopefully, they will win tonight.
Divorce was good last night.
Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.
Monday Night Raw felt like something that was thrown together at the last minute. i hated that they barely showed any of the returning females on the show. at least the 24/7 shit was pretty funny. and having Bray Wyatt attack Mick Foley was very good.

it started to rain a little after 1 in the morning. it's still raining, 13 fucking hours later. my arthritis has been bouncing around just having a glorious time all damn day. needless to say, i won't be going to the basketball game tonight, especially since this rain is supposed to turn to snow sometime tonight. oh joy.
Smackdown was excellent last night. i can't wait for the Royal Rumble this Sunday.
205 Live was good last night.
Celebrity Big Brother last night was crazy.

the Dayton Flyers play George Mason tonight. i don't think the game is on television, unless i want to pay to see it. so, i'll probably just listen on the radio for most of it. i really do hope Dayton wins. if the weather would be better, i'd probably be there tonight.
i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before mom's physical therapy appointment.
the guy that's going to check the windows should be in here in a couple hours. most of the snow has melted from around the house.
hopefully, i will get some sleep tonight and get those damn poems out in the morning.

the grocery store was a fucking zoo this afternoon. and just my luck, my back was hurting and my blood sugar dropped while i was in the store. good times.
i guess the muse is spending her holiday weekend on the west coast and my sister will be on the east coast. it must be nice.
the New York Yankees lost last night to the Tigers, 8-7. they had the lead going into the 9th inning, but Betances spit the bit for the first time in a long time. of course, i'm not sure why he was pitching the 9th and Britton was pitching the 8th. oh well, they have no fucking chance to catch Boston now anyway. the Yankees did make a trade after the game, finally getting an outfielder. it should help. of course, should is a very fine line these days. hopefully the Yankees win tonight.
the New Orleans Saints won last night over the Rams, 28-0.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
Big Brother went exactly as i thought it would last night. Faysal was evicted and Scottie won the Battle Back competition. late last night, Tyler won HOH.
Snowfall was fucking great last night.

when Manchester United went down 1-0 today, i was not a happy camper. but, much like in the days of Sir Alex, that goal woke them the fuck up. from that point on, i thought United really outplayed Tottenham for most of the game. goals from Alexis and Ander Herrera gave United the 2-1 victory. that means next month they will be playing for a trophy. they will be in the FA Cup final against either Chelsea or Southampton. i don't think it matters who United faces, they are the better team. they will just need to prove it. May 19th can't get here soon enough.
the New York Yankees couldn't keep a lead last night and ended up losing 8-5. they figured something out overnight and defeated Toronto 9-1 this afternoon. they will have a chance to actually win a series tomorrow. hopefully they will do that.
VICE last night was very good.
NJPW was excellent last night.
Major League Wrestling was much better than i thought it was going to be last night. but, i'm going to love anything that has Pentagon Jr. in it.
Real Time with Bill Maher was great last night.

i will probably watch some of the playoff games tonight, both basketball and hockey.
i'll probably be on here tomorrow in the morning. i definitely want to be on here before the Yankees play in the afternoon tomorrow.

when it started snowing this afternoon, i basically threw hands up in the air and just said fuck it. i knew i was going to have to go drive in it to pick up some prescriptions. oh fucking joy.
we're under a damn freeze watch or warning or some shit until tomorrow night. i figure at this rate, summer will start sometime in August. who am i kidding, it's Ohio. it will probably be back to 70 by next week. this state is really fucking good at keeping everyone sick.
here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:
i did write 7 poems yesterday. i typed them up and really like them. i think i might send out a few poems next week.
the New York Yankees had both games of their doubleheader rained out yesterday. those games will be made up in June (hopefully). the Yankees start a series at home tonight against the Marlins.
Drop the Mic was pretty fucking funny last night.
the season finale of Here and Now was pretty crazy last night. the way the episode ended, i do hope there is a season 2.
Silicon Valley was funny last night.

i think i waited longer in line to get the prescriptions today than it took me to drive to the grocery store and back. that gives way too much time to think and people watch and come up with some pretty weird shit in my head. but, that should shed a little light how the poems get made. you're welcome.
hopefully it will be warmer when i have to drive mom to physical therapy tomorrow.
i'm going to try to get the blog done early tomorrow. i know mom will probably want to go out to eat after her appointment.

i feel bad for my mother. her first doctor's appointment went pretty good as she learned her insurance would cover another round of shots for her back. then, her next appointment was with the eye doctor. she now has cataracts in both eyes. she mentioned something about the steroid injections she gets for her back to the doctor and he then said well, now you know why your cataracts are so bad. so, as we were driving away, i told mom she has to really attack her physical therapy for her hip when she's getting the injections for her back so she won't need those injections again. she's hoping to put off the surgery for her cataracts until after she gets all 3 rounds of shots for her back. i swear, if it's not one thing, it's another. and now we get to see the surgeon that did her hip tomorrow. joy.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i thought the show had a pretty good flow for all 3 hours. i truly enjoyed Braun Strowman coming back to destroy Roman Reigns, after Samoa Joe destroyed him as well. plus, Big Cass turning on Enzo was excellent.

i did write 4 poems yesterday after i got done with the blog. i really like all 4 of them. i figure since i will have a few moments home alone while mom is in the hospital, i will definitely try to bust out a long ass writing session or two.

this blog was going to be mostly about the USA crushing Honduras last night until i got news early this afternoon that Archie Miller was leaving Dayton to take the Indiana job. i always knew this day was coming. i never gave much thought to who was going to be the next coach as i guess part of me never wanted Archie to leave. but, if i'm being honest, Indiana is one of those jobs that i can't argue with leaving Dayton for. now, it's all about who the next coach of Dayton will be and how many of the great recruiting class that is supposed to come to Dayton next season can that coach convince to stay. life as a college basketball fan that cares...
a 7 year contract worth $4 million a season will get anyone to leave Dayton. thanks for putting Dayton back on the national map coach. you will always be loved here.
now, i had a good feeling that the USA would win last night. i didn't expect a 6-0 ass whipping of Honduras that took the team from last place in the group to 4th. now, a win in Panama on Tuesday and it will be officially crisis averted.
NJPW was really good last night.

tonight is the beginning of the Copa America. Colombia vs. USA. i really want the boys to do well in this tournament but this opening game is a brutal one. honestly, if they can get a draw against Colombia i will be fucking thrilled. this is one of my favorite soccer tournaments. and considering this is the first time it is being played in the USA, it should be fun to watch. so most of my blog posts in the next month or so will be around soccer matches. considering the Euro 2016 starts soon as well, it's going to be a crazy time.
the New York Yankees actually won last night, 5-4. the bullpen tried its hardest to give the game away, but Detroit ran out of gas in the 9th. bases loaded and no outs and the Yankees only gave up one run. thank god. that victory beer tasted so good. the boys play in Baltimore tonight. hopefully the pitching will be good because the Orioles have been crushing the ball here lately.
WWE Smackdown was really good last night, much better than Raw was.
Lip Sync Battle was fucking hilarious last night.
i didn't watch much of the basketball game last night. i think Cleveland found out the hard way that playing in the Eastern Conference does not get them ready for the finals at all.

i'll probably be on here early tomorrow. i believe mom and i are going to knock out the grocery shopping later today, so hopefully i will be on here with good news from tonight.

there's nothing quite like waking up from a dream where your high school girlfriend tells you that all your books have been stolen. i got the part where she would be in the dream as i scanned about 10 photos for her from high school a few hours before i went to sleep. but the books part had me completely fucking baffled at 6 in the morning. although, i did check the bookcase just to be sure.
and if you would like to see what i looked like in high school, feel free:
time has truly beaten the shit out of me. as for her, not so much. she's still beautiful.
the heating and air guys came out today to clean out the air ducts. you could tell an immediate difference when they got done. hopefully it will help this summer.
and after a quick lunch, mom and i went to Menards. i figured it would be better to do that today than tomorrow. i truly expect things to be a clusterfuck the closer we get to the 4th of July. we did find some things that i think will work in the house. plus, my aunt was a little jealous of the solar lights we have over here, so i picked out a ridiculous purple one for her. but, i also know that i will have some things to put together this holiday weekend. good times.
enjoy a quick musical break as i go get some water:
the New York Yankees won yesterday, 3-1. at least they avoided the sweep. they are off tonight and start a series with Tampa at home tomorrow.
NXT was pretty good last night. i agreed with some reviews that the matches could have been better, but i'm not going to bitch about it much. i did watch the main event from ROH again. i could watch AJ Styles and Adam Cole wrestle each other everyday of the year. they have great chemistry with each other. Lucha Underground was excellent last night. i really can't wait for the Ultimate Lucha coming in August. enjoy some highlights from last night:
here is some funny shit:
all i really plan on watching tonight is Big Brother. i'm pretty sure Jace will be the one evicted tonight. although, i wouldn't mind him not going and watching a few house guests go bat shit crazy.
i did happen to listen to the new Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this morning. definitely worth your time:
you can find it at notsam.com, iTunes, Stitcher and on the right hand side of this blog.
i know i will be driving mom to the grocery store in the morning tomorrow. i guess i'll be checking out the elderly while i'm there. i can just imagine those poems. i figure i will be back on here sometime before the Yankees play tomorrow.
congrats to Marty St. Louis on his NHL career. i would have loved to see him go out as a winner with the Rangers, but he had a hall of fame career nonetheless. here's a video i saw today of him that made me smile:

today has been damn near perfect. mid 70's with just a little breeze and not much humidity. the kind of day you open the windows, turn on a ceiling fan and go to sleep for a few hours. which is exactly what i did.
i did manage to type up the 3 poems last night, before midnight. i really like these 3. i'll probably be working up another batch to send out before the end of the month.
the New York Rangers play Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals tonight. if they can win tonight, they will take complete control of the series. and it would also put them 1 win from the Stanley Cup finals. i've kind of got that good anxiety in my stomach at the moment. i will be in full throat and i am completely rested for the game.
i guess at some point tonight i will flip over and see what the Yankees are doing against the White Sox. their best pitcher came off the disabled list for the start tonight. hopefully he is rusty. if he isn't, the way the Yankees are hitting at the moment, this game could get ugly. and fast.
all in all, i just want to be drinking 2 victory beers before i go to bed tonight.
chances are i will be mowing the grass tomorrow, as long as the weather and my health all cooperate with each other. i'm sure mom would like it done for the holiday weekend.
that's pretty much it for me today. got some new songs i found on iTunes that some of you might notice down in the music section. my tastes are getting more varied, which is truly fucking bizarre.

i got up this morning at 4:45, roughly 3 hours after drinking this liquid that is supposed to help you sleep longer. lets just say it didn't quite work. i went upstairs to try to stretch out and really loosen my body up, and then pain decided it wanted to play. my left arm started to spasm and really get painful. on the scale of 1 to 10, it was somewhere around 8 or so. and of course, we have no pain pills, so all i'm left with is lotions, ice bags, and alcohol. the way the weather is here lately, i'd be better off just sticking my left arm in one of the snow drifts out here. if this pain continues... we're supposed to get 6 inches of snow this weekend.
i'm not exactly thrilled with the forecast as my mom needs to drive to Columbus on Sunday, right in the middle of the snowstorm. not good. plus, Sunday is the day the trash goes down to the end of the lane. i don't think that's going to happen which basically means the next time i take it down i will be taking down a month's worth of trash. yikes.
the windchill was -20 when i went out to feed the cats today. let's just say i was less than thrilled when i had snow blowing into my face as i was trying to open a gate to get to the barn. good times. the wind is hopefully going to stop before the snow hits. if we get that kind of wind along with a few inches of snow, it will be blizzard time. and all i can think about is shoveling sidewalks with one arm.
sorry for being so short today, but that's about all the typing i can do without feeling the need to cut my arm off.
hope everyone has a great weekend. please send some positive vibes my way or cash. that works as well.
be well. stay warm. and unless i kill myself in the snow tomorrow, i'll be on here before Dayton plays in the afternoon up in Rhode Island.

so i was up before the crack of dawn this morning. had plenty of things i wanted to get done before Manchester United played. the trash is down at the road, the toilets are clean, the animals are fed, and the water filter in the cellar has been changed. not bad for 3 hours of sleep.
Manchester United played Tottenham to a 2-2 draw this morning. i wasn't thrilled with the first goal United gave up. but, the second was a absolute beauty. just tip your hat there. i was very pleased that Wayne Rooney was able to equalize both times United fell behind. take the point and move on. especially when you are on the road facing a good club.
Ohio State beat Michigan yesterday 42-41. the defense stunk but the running game of the offense absolutely emasculated Michigan's defense. i completely understand why the Michigan coach went for 2 instead of going to overtime. he didn't want to see his sorry ass defense embarrassed anymore. and given that later in the day Auburn upset Alabama on one of the craziest fucking endings i have ever seen in college football, Ohio State should be in position to play for a national championship this season. just need to beat Michigan State in the Big 10 title game.of course, the national media doesn't want it to play out like that... but if you ever want to see the NCAA go away forever, keep an undefeated Ohio State team out of playing for a national championship. heads will roll.
the New York Rangers played a surprisingly strong game and beat Vancouver 5-2 yesterday. i was so damn happy for Chris Kreider to get his first career hat trick against the coach that was too fucking stubborn to play him last season. highlights below:
ROH was excellent last night. Steve Corino had me laughing all throughout the broadcast with his commentary. and the match between Cole and Jacobs was top notch. as was the match between Richards and Strong.
here in a bit i will be sitting my ass in front of the big screen and watching football for the rest of the day. i have so many guys playing tomorrow night that i'm not too stressed about what happens today in fantasy football. now, mind you, i'll still bitch up a storm if my players aren't doing anything, but nothing will be decided until the Monday night game is over.
if i am somehow still awake this evening, i will be watching Homeland, Masters of Sex, and Total Divas. and probably a bit of the Sunday night game as well. my opponents this week have players in that game. fun.
no sight of my cat Irvine Welsh this morning, so i am now placing her on the dead list. i haven't seen her in a month. she was the cat who last had kittens, so i'm guessing she died either by the claws of another animal or simply ran away to get away from those kittens. only one kitten survived, so i hope that one does good as a loner.
on a positive note, it has warmed up a bit here. might even hit the 40's all day long. holy shit after a week in the 20's.
hope this finds everyone well. i do hope you survived the huge shopping weekend and don't fall for the cyber Monday scams. and always know that if you'd like to buy anything off of my Amazon.com wish list, you are more than welcome to do so. i am not too proud to beg.
if you didn't see, please check out the new poem that was published today in the previous post. it is one that i am pretty proud of. not sure where it came from or who i was thinking of when i wrote it, but it did come out a winner.
enough of my rambling. i have sports to watch.

i was maybe 10 minutes into watching the New York Rangers last night when the damn power went out. it was raining out so i figured some old fucker around here took a turn too fast and hit a pole or some water shorted out some lines or something. 2nd time in 2 weeks now. and it was right as i was thinking about what to have for dinner. needless to say, Doritos won out after the power went out.
so once the power came back on, the Rangers were up 4-1. to say i was shocked would be an understatement. here are the highlights:
what a great victory. hopefully they can keep the good vibes going as they play in Columbus tonight. i'd love to be at the game but the beauty of being poor is you learn to go without at times. i'll be watching.
also tonight is The Big Bang Theory and the first live eliminations on The Voice. all 4 teams get cut from 5 to 3 tonight. here is who i think will make it tonight: Team Adam: Will, James, and Tessanne, Team Blake: Cole, Nic, and Ray, Team Ceelo: Amber, Kat, and Caroline, Team Xtina: Olivia, Matthew, and Jacquie. that's certainly not the 12 i would have picked, just whom i believe will get chosen by the fans. if i go 12 for 12, i may play the lottery this weekend.
also, tonight are some really good college football games. and a stinky NFL game that i unfortunately need to keep an eye on as i have a player going tonight. always good to get the jump in fantasy football. of course, it helps if that jump is significant. if it isn't, i'll be kicking myself as i have the guy rated right behind him at his position on my bench. fingers crossed.
i did manage to write 5 poems today. i kind of flipped the script a tad bit today, and wrote in complete silence. i usually prefer to have some form of chaos around me. when i type them up later tonight or tomorrow morning, i'll let you know how this little experiment makes out.
and finally today, i found some kick ass new (at least new to me) music at Noise Trade. you'll see that listed down below. i HIGHLY recommend downloading it for FREE.*
that is all for me. a big hello to the new subscribers. if you enjoy my ramblings or any of the content on the right hand side of the page, please feel free to tell everyone you know.
be well. take it easy. and only fuck the ones that cough.
i was up at 6 this morning. amazingly it was 42 degrees outside. i didn't turn on the heat last night, so the house was a comfortable 67. i believe my sister is reading this and saying something along the lines of that being cold as fuck.
Manchester United won this morning 2-0. considering they played the entire second half up a man, i would have liked to seen 4 or 5 goals. but, i'll gladly take the win. RVP and Rooney with the goals. starts off a huge week with Champions League play coming and the huge stage of next weekend against Manchester City.
the Yankees dug themselves a big hole last night. they came out of it and then their depleted bullpen put them right back in it. 8-4 loss on a night where all the teams around them in the standings won. 2 games out now, needing to pass Cleveland and Tampa to make a playoff spot. i'll watch a little of the game this afternoon, probably with one eye closed.
a big day of sports ahead. soccer for the next few hours. a huge (at least the way it has been hyped) game between Texas A&M and Alabama, and Ohio State is on the west coast for a game this evening. all of that, some ROH late tonight and perhaps a little writing and beer drinking in between.
i now need to go feed the cats and see how the young ones survived the cold. i believe we are down to only 1 new kitten now. this is why i refuse to name them until they survive a winter out here.
hope everyone has a good day. i do hope to have some poetry news to pass along tomorrow.
it's been raining here all day long. more of a persistent drizzle, which is not actually bad, as it seems like it's really going into the ground pretty good. should make for a decent start to the planting season at least. of course, the fun stuff is supposed to be coming tonight. i'm not a big fan of night storms, especially ones that have the potential to be damaging. could be a restless night ahead for me.
what the rain has really done, along with the heat of the last couple of days, is make the farm much greener. which says to me, fuck, i've got grass to mow here soon.
the poet of the day on my Google+ page is Doug Draime. Doug is one of my favorite poets around. i urge all of you to check out his work. a quick search on Google should give you plenty to read.
the Yankees game last night was rained out. i have no clue if they will actually get tonight's game in or not. seeing that this is their only trip into Cleveland this season, i hope they get this one in. it's bad enough they will have to use an off day to go back there to make up last night's game.
seeing that the Yankees weren't playing, i was able to give my full attention to the New York Rangers last night. a better defensive effort, even though they gave up 2 damn goals to a guy on my opponents fantasy team for the second game in a row, resulting in a 3-2 shootout win. highlights below:
i really enjoyed the victory beer after that game. 2 HUGE points. they now get a couple of days to rest up for a Saturday night match with the Islanders. that should be a nice bloodbath.
other than a little baseball tonight, i might check out a little college hockey. the frozen four starts tonight. that is of course if the power stays on and the Directv doesn't go out. it has a tendency to go nuts in the really bad storms. and judging from the radar, this one could be a bad one.
if i see any spectacular damage come morning, i will try to get some pictures. i'm hoping there won't be any.
first off, a thank you to all of you who commented on my first video. i have 2 more i need to post and will do that sometime later today. i did all of these as more of a fuck it, just do it, kind of thing than anything else. i figure i'm 37, what the fuck am i waiting for? i have no clue where all of this will end up, just hoping to enjoy the ride.
i didn't get to go to the Dayton Flyers game last night. my mother had her knee appointment changed (oh how i love insurance companies) and made it home too late for us to get to the game. not a big deal as it was on television. her verdict on her knee, drum roll please, no torn ligaments. thankfully. BUT, arthritis and 2 huge bone spurs. so, sometime this summer, she gets to go through knee replacement. FUN.
as for the game, this was exactly what Dayton needed. a complete and total beat down. they absolutely destroyed Fordham by 45 points. it was pretty nice to watch as i really didn't need to yell and scream that much. i think the only lead the other team had was 3-0. hopefully, the game on the weekend is similar.
i also got to watch the New York Rangers finally get a win. a fantastic game to watch. god, i missed hockey. a hat trick for Gaborik (which really helps my fantasy team) with the 3rd goal coming as the overtime winner. another big one coming tonight vs. Philly. hopefully the dominance from last season continues.
got a nice letter yesterday from Lee Thorn. he's started publishing people on his blog. i will be sending him some work in the next few weeks. you can find the blog here: http://thornblog.net/Index.html
check back here later for the videos. i actually make an appearance in these.

so, today started off well enough. last night i got the 2 poems accepted. Dayton whipped Boston College in basketball in a holy shit, did we really make over 60% of our shots for the entire game. i was glad to have seen it as that might be the only way i would ever believe it happened. they play Auburn tomorrow to try to come home 3-1 on the season. they should be able to get it done. another name to remember, Dyshawn Pierre. if this kid ever reaches his full potential, look out.
so this morning i'm up early to watch some soccer to prepare myself for Manchester United this afternoon. lackluster would be too kind of a word to describe the game. listless might be a better fit. frankly, i should have known this shit filled game was coming as soon as i knew Wayne Rooney wasn't playing. so much for first place.
after that shitty experience, here came Ohio State. i figured the game would be tough, all the road games are. especially at Wisconsin. in a game that maybe set back offense 100 years, Ohio State wins in overtime 21-14. they totally didn't deserve to be anywhere near winning this game. i hope they know if they play like that next week, there will be 100,000 fans looking for... use your imagination as it will be Michigan week.
i still had the victory beer. didn't taste as good as it should have. oh well, some more football this evening. maybe i'll get a head start on picking up the trash as i have a morning full of fantasy football shit ahead of me. if my old ass can stay awake, i'll try to catch the new Saturday Night Live tonight and some ROH as well.
hope everyone has a good rest of the weekend.
peace and chicken grease.

a nice southern breeze taking the temps into the mid 60's. some sunshine and some college basketball. i couldn't ask for more.
went to UD Arena to see the Dayton Flyers open up the season for real. a sluggish game with plenty of hope. when your best player doesn't score in the first half and you are up by 7, i always think that means you have a team with great depth. and when that best player finishes the game with 12 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds and you know he played like shit for most of the game, you can smile. this team has plenty of good parts. but relying on freshmen the way they have to, this season will have plenty of warts as well. a win by 13 is a nice way to get the season going.
then, a little bite to eat and a trip to the grocery store. wasn't nearly as bad as i thought it would be. seeing that Ohio State is off this week, i kind of figured everyone would be at the store instead of in front of a television. it was packed but i managed it. when i'm calm i have a real fuck off look to me, so i'm usually left alone. makes it easier for my mother to get through the aisles, i know that much.
got home to see that Manchester United won 3-2. the usual, go down 2-0. enter the Mexican God, Chicharito, and just like that, 3-2. i learned a long time ago, this team has a will that can't be extinguished. no matter the players, the conditions, or the odds, drama is never far away. been a fan since the early 90's. they probably have taken a few years off my life, but it's been enjoyable.
then, enter chaos into college football as Alabama loses at home. down goes the number 1 team in the land. i smell a god conspiracy going on to make sure Notre Dame plays for the national championship. just sayin'.
and since the NHL can't decide if it wants to be relevant or not, this Saturday night will be spent with a beer, some more football, waiting for Saturday Night Live. i'd much rather be watching Canadians fighting, just sayin'.

by the way, as some of you may have noticed, not that any of you should really care, a part of my soul got robbed last night and i'm now on google+. the world has officially started to end. you're welcome.
