holding off the inevitable, for now...

i wasn't looking forward to going to the doctor's office today. my blood pressure was elevated two weeks ago when i was there. if it was still elevated today, they were going to decide what drugs they were going to put me on. given my family history of high blood pressure, i figured i knew what was coming. amazingly, my blood pressure was down. at least enough that i might be able to avoid the inevitable for now. i don't see the doctor again until October. so, perhaps the rest of my summer will not be as heavy on my mind.

i went to the bank before the doctor's office. mom paid me back for what i have paid for the last couple of weeks. the damn line was almost out the door. that was a little strange. of course, there was only two people working at the time. you'd be amazed at how comfortable i am being the only white person in a place. definitely reminds me of my youth. that's probably why i still bank on the "black" side of the county.

i was flipping last night between NBA summer league and the home run derby. that was mostly through the commercials on Monday Night Raw. i had high hopes for Raw last night after the first segment. but when Roman Reigns won the first triple threat match of the night, my mood quickly soured. the show didn't get much better from there.

Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind made me laugh my ass off last night and definitely made me cry. Robin was a huge influence on how my brain works through comedy. i can remember being a kid and watching his HBO specials. i think i still have some on VHS tapes in the garage. and sadly, his suicide did not shock me. when they explained everything he had at the end of his life, i certainly understood why he did it. it doesn't change the pain though. but i don't think i'm selfish enough to want someone to keep on living while suffering. i did see how some people thought the documentary didn't go deep enough. i kind of disagree. when you see the end and how many people couldn't talk about his death. instead, they just cried... that should be plenty deep enough to know what the man was to everyone. if you love comedy or if you loved his acting, i highly recommend checking this out.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Jim Jefferies Show, Deadliest Catch and Fuck That's Delicious. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i might watch some of the MLB All-Star game tonight. might.

one thing i'd really love to do tonight is get some sleep. trying to catch someone living 6 hours ahead of you is certainly driving me fucking crazy. staying up to 3 in the morning hoping to talk to the woman you are madly in love with and not getting to is beyond frustrating at this point. and then there's the news she told me about the end of this month that i don't want to focus on but it's like a fucking nuclear weapon in the back of my mind. ain't love great?

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i know that's all for today as i have trash to go pickup here and next door.

the perfect way to start the weekend...

when Manchester United went down 1-0 today, i was not a happy camper. but, much like in the days of Sir Alex, that goal woke them the fuck up. from that point on, i thought United really outplayed Tottenham for most of the game. goals from Alexis and Ander Herrera gave United the 2-1 victory. that means next month they will be playing for a trophy. they will be in the FA Cup final against either Chelsea or Southampton. i don't think it matters who United faces, they are the better team. they will just need to prove it. May 19th can't get here soon enough.

the New York Yankees couldn't keep a lead last night and ended up losing 8-5. they figured something out overnight and defeated Toronto 9-1 this afternoon. they will have a chance to actually win a series tomorrow. hopefully they will do that.

VICE last night was very good.

NJPW was excellent last night.

Major League Wrestling was much better than i thought it was going to be last night. but, i'm going to love anything that has Pentagon Jr. in it.

Real Time with Bill Maher was great last night.

Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was very good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

i actually got out this morning and put out some bird food. the weather is supposedly going to get better in the next few days. of course, i've heard that shit before. as of right now, this is the coldest April in this area in recorded history.

i will probably watch some of the playoff games tonight, both basketball and hockey.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow in the morning. i definitely want to be on here before the Yankees play in the afternoon tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. i hope you were able to get out for Record Store Day. and i hope your evening is a good one.

my brain works in the most peculiar ways...

i wrote 8 poems this afternoon while sitting in the waiting room of the doctor's office. my mother always asks me how do i come up with what i write? i always just sort of shrug my shoulders and say it's the joy of being crazy. i'll probably type up the poems tonight sometime. i think i have a few winners in this batch.

i was not impressed with the selection show yesterday for the NCAA tournament. and i certainly wasn't thrilled with some of the teams that made the tournament. i honestly don't think Oklahoma, Syracuse or Arizona St. should be in it. of course, they are big schools, which the committee will always pick over the smaller schools with better records and better teams. it's a television show after all. they are thinking of getting people to watch, not what would make for a better tournament. mom got tickets to the First Four again. so i will be watching 4 games of college basketball in the next 2 days. more on that tomorrow.

WWE Fastlane was pretty good last night. i love that Asuka is going to face Charlotte at WrestleMania. i love that Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles is now official for WrestleMania. i didn't mind Randy Orton winning the US Championship last night. the main event last night was a bit of a clusterfuck at times, but it did tell the right story. here's hoping Kevin Owens gets to beat the shit out of Shane McMahon one day.

Our Cartoon President was hilarious last night.

Homeland was really good last night.

The Chi was fucking amazing last night. the season finale next week should be awesome.

Here and Now was excellent last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking hilarious as always last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Carolina. i'm expecting another loss.

i believe the New York Yankees play the Twins tonight. i might check out some of that.

i will be on here tomorrow hopefully long before Manchester United plays in the Champions League.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

well, the snow started earlier than expected...

i think it started snowing a good 2 hours before the weather assholes on television thought it was going to. i figure that will probably push us into the 6 to 8 inches of snow instead of 2 to 4. so, i think i made the right decision by not going to the basketball game tonight. now, i'm still debating if i should get the mail or just wait until tomorrow. of course, if we get 8 inches of snow, i might be waiting until Sunday. good times.

i wrote 8 poems last night. that brings my total for the month up to 11. i typed the poems up this afternoon. my printer went on strike for a portion of this afternoon. i laughed when i saw the troubleshooting step for me was to just wait. i waited a good 20 minutes and sure enough, the printer started working fine. crazy shit. i do like a few of the poems. i am planning another round of submissions around my birthday. i at least have 1 place in mind to send to for that. i'd love to get in the routine of sending to a place i have never sent to with each round of submissions, but i don't think that's going to happen.

The Big Bang Theory was really funny last night.

Young Sheldon reminded me that i never got into D&D when i was a child.

Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.

Will & Grace was fucking hilarious last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW and Treehouse Masters.

the Dayton Flyers play at home tonight against VCU. i'd love to see Dayton win as that would be the first time all season they have won 2 games in a row. the game is on ESPN2 tonight.

i figure the rest of the evening will be watching it snow and probably taking a shower.

i'm going to try to be on here before the New York Rangers play tomorrow afternoon against the Islanders.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully you're somewhere nice and warm, with a drink in your hand.
