old bones and snow, not a good mix

we got a few inches of snow overnight. i didn't think it was much until i saw that schools were closing. it has snowed on and off all day long. that is supposed to continue into tonight. i told mom with how she was feeling and how i was feeling, there's no point trying to go out today. the last thing i need is either of us falling and breaking something.

so that means i will be watching the Dayton Flyers on the television tonight. they play against Duquesne. Dayton is up to 19 in the AP poll. that is the highest Dayton has been in February since the 60's. hopefully they take care of business once again tonight.

the New York Rangers were without two of their best players last night. thankfully, they decided to not feel sorry for themselves. they were dominant for most of the 60 minutes last night against New Jersey, although the last few minutes were a little more scary than they should have been. goals from Klein and Miller and some huge saves from The King, the Rangers won 2-1.

The X-Files were pretty interesting last night. i'm interested to see where the show goes in the last few episodes.

Monday Night Raw was really good last night. they saved the Daniel Bryan retirement to the end. that was probably for the best. i loved that Dean Ambrose showed just how crazy he is by going after Brock Lesnar. plus, anytime Ziggler and Owens wrestles anymore, it's a classic. the Daniel Bryan ceremony was excellent. i teared up a few times as he was easily one of my favorite wrestlers of this generation. he will be missed, that's for sure.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Muppets and Total Divas.

i guess i should actually got out and get the paper and mail now. hopefully the driveway isn't icy.

sometime tonight i'm going to go through some poems and see where my next round of submissions are going to go to. i've got a couple of places in mind, including a few new ones.

that's all for me kids. i was busy on iTunes this morning, so you may see some songs that you wouldn't think i would listen to.

i hope this finds everyone warm and enjoying something. i'll let your imagination decide what you think i think that something is.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

i am spent

first off, this blog today is brought to you by DJ Swykert. check out all of his books at: http://magicmasterminds.com/djswykert/. he's currently looking for people to write reviews for his books. if you are interested, contact him.

just got done watching the Manchester United goalless draw against Chelsea. United was the better team, as the special one decided to play without a striker to give the false belief of how badly they need Wayne Rooney. and speaking of Wazza, he played awesome today.if the ref would have been smart enough to make the right call on the obvious handball by Chelsea in the box, i have no doubt that United would have won the game. but, 1 point is better than none. next up is Liverpool on Sunday.

the Yankees won a game they had to yesterday, in extra innings, 3-2. much better than getting swept. up to Toronto tonight for hopefully another sweep of the Blue Jays. Derek Jeter makes yet another return to the lineup tonight. god willing, he won't get injured again this season.

i did watch most of the VMA's last night. i felt good that i knew basically 90% of the people there, at least the names. as for the performances, none of them were really my cup of tea. i did enjoy most of them though for what they were; mindless music with hey, look at me, performances. i was very happy for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. i absolutely love that album.

The Newsroom was excellent once again. can't wait to see what happens in 2 weeks. Ray Donovan was too short but the killing at the end was a twist i didn't see coming until it happened. should be an interesting road for the show now. Total Divas made me laugh for all the wrong reasons. i suppose i really know too much of the inside shit of the world of pro wrestling to be able to take this show for what it is.

i love the dumb asses that only watch the CBS portion of Big Brother and think they are going to see someone big leave the house on Thursday. such fools.

i'm looking forward to Monday Night Raw this evening. i figure i'll flip between that and the Yankees game for most of the evening.

a big thank you to Janne Karlsson for the cartoons this morning. i will probably post another one this Friday.

the humidity is making another comeback. incredibly shitty sleeping weather. so, i figure until the storm comes through, i'll be dealing with insomnia. lovely.

that's all for today.

guess what... more rain

i was wondering when i woke up this morning at 7:30 after roughly 3 hours of sleep, why? then i looked outside and noticed the rain. ah, for most people rain helps people sleep. for me, it makes my back so damn tight that i can't sit still, or lay down or walk around. and people wonder why i openly talk about death and drugs.

the Yankees had a HUGE walk off win last night over Baltimore. i didn't think it was going to happen with all the chances they pissed away last night. Nova pitched better than i have ever seen him. a complete game, only a few hits allowed and he was throwing 96 in the 9th inning. they play again here in a few hours. hopefully they can keep the good streak going.

after that, i completely forgot that team USA was playing Guatemala in a friendly tune up for the Gold Cup. luckily i remembered before the start of it. USA with a huge win, 6-0. congrats to Landon Donovan on becoming the first American to score 50 international goals. i am looking forward to the start of the Gold Cup on Tuesday i believe.

so, with 2 victory beers in me, i decided to break out a new notebook and start some poems. i wrote 4 really good ones last night. i typed them up this morning. after the Yankee game this afternoon, i'm planning on going through all the poems and getting the next batch ready for submissions. that is if the rain doesn't stop. if it stops, i'll be outside trying to clean my truck up on the inside for the first time in EVER.

a big thank you to Frontier Communications for once again providing the slowest high speed internet on the face of the earth.

i've got a feeling this evening might be the night i break out the watercolors.

i did go to the Manchester United website yesterday and watched a bit of the David Moyes press conference. i did find it funny how Sir Alex told him the job was his. also, Wayne Rooney isn't for sale (so far) and i'm so happy that my second favorite player of all time, Ryan Giggs, has accepted the role of player-coach. to see a guy who started around the same time i started rooting for the team still going is amazing.

peace and chicken grease.

and the sun came out, brighter than usual

let me quickly recap last night before i get to the plethora of things going on this evening.

the Yankees forgot their bats last night as they only had 4 damn hits. Andy pitched well, but had 2 mistakes and was handed a tough luck loss, 3-0. they are back home tonight. i'm not sure how much i will watch as they fall about 4th or 5th on the pecking order for the evening.

the New York Rangers can clinch a playoff spot tonight with a win in Carolina. hopefully Hank won't have to play on his head again to win there. or, they could just hope Winnipeg loses to Montreal tonight and back their way in. i'll take either.

the NFL Draft starts tonight. i'm mildly interested, mostly from a fantasy football standpoint. i'll be in and out of that for most of the night.

i believe the Big Bang Theory is new tonight. if that's the case, i'll be tuning in.

and finally, the fantasy hockey championship round i'm in is currently at 5-5. so, i'll be popping in and out of just about every hockey game going tonight.

do check out the poems i had published today at Zygote in My Coffee and The Camel Saloon. i really like both of them.

the poet of the day on my Google+ page is Ben John Smith. Ben is one crazy Australian who is an incredible writer. now, keep in mind, you pretty much have to be a fan of filth, sleaze, sex, drugs, horror, and death if you are really going to like his work. thankfully, i'm a fan of all those things. and another thing, the man sends some of the most interesting mail i have ever received from another poet. he's definitely one to not miss out on.

i had no clue my book was available on amazon.com until my mother just happened to mention it this morning. so, if you feel more comfortable purchasing it there, go right ahead. type in Sofisticated White Trash  in the amazon.com box on this blog and it will take you to the page. or, if you'd like to help a friend out, go to the podcast page at notsam.com  and use the amazon.com link from there. then you could get my book and help out Primetime Sam Roberts as well. 2 birds with one stone or a win win, whatever you feel more comfortable with.

until tomorrow, and hopefully i will have more good news to bring you.

recharged and ready to go

amazing what some decent sleep and a win from the New York Rangers actually does for me. i woke up this morning feeling refreshed for maybe the first time in 2 weeks.

i nearly drove myself insane last night as i was doing my best to watch every bit of the Rangers game, The Voice, and Monday Night Raw. i'll do a little recap on all 3, sorta.

as for the Rangers game, the boys scored 19 seconds in to break their scoring drought. of course, 1 minute later they gave the goal right back. i flip back later to see they are down 2-1. needless to say, i'm not pleased. then, i flip back later to see this beauty from Captain Cally.

the Rangers go on to win 4-2. below are the full game highlights

just love when the NHL trading deadline is the same time as the fantasy playoffs. seeing that one of my players got moved today, i can just imagine my stress level come tomorrow. fun.

as for Monday Night Raw, the parts i did catch i enjoyed for the most part. the ending, which saw CM Punk dress as a druid and beat up The Undertaker with the urn and then dump the ashes of Paul Bearer on him was just pure fucking brilliance. it's clear that this match is more anticipated than any other match on the card. i can't wait until Wrestlemania.

yesterday, i completely forgot to give you my thoughts on ROH TV over the weekend. i love the way they are rolling out the back story on SCUM vs. ROH. and personally, i don't think you can go wrong when you have Steve Corino being the mouthpiece of the angle. also, the slow tease of what Kevin Steen wants to say is perfect. i really enjoyed the episode, even if i stayed up 2 hours later to watch it because of the Ten Commandments movie.

as for The Voice. it was good as usual. a few of the voices stuck out to me. but, most of what i think makes this show better than all the other ones is the interaction between the coaches. that's really the reason i love the show, other than the fact i am addicted to music.

the poet of the day on my Google+ page is William Taylor Jr. if you haven't heard of him before, i urge you to go seek his work out and enjoy. one of the best poets going today.

i have a pesky raccoon that is getting into my bird feeders. i'm not a big fan of killing animals. but i'm not against others doing it. we've got some natural type sprays that are supposed to keep them away, but i guess they are too old now to be effective. if i get any photos of the little fucker in action, i'll be sure to post them.

none of my sports teams play tonight. i started watching a little bit of PSG vs. Barcelona in Champions League play, but, with no Manchester United involved anymore, the luster of the matches are gone for me. i'll catch the highlights later tonight i suppose. i believe i will catch up on some sleep, watch another episode of The Voice, take a shower and perhaps do a little writing this evening.

or, do none of the above and just turn on the History Channel and fall in and out of sleep. time will only tell i suppose.

a little bit of everything

went to the doctor's office this morning to get some more blood drawn. i'm supposed to call tomorrow to get the results. i don't see that happening as i really don't give a shit one way or the other.

had to drive my mom around today as something is up with her left eye. i figure this will end up being my "job" before too long. and considering how much she has to go around this state, i better get used to her vehicle pretty damn quick.

check out Leah Angstman's review of ZYX #63 here: http://allthethingsleahshouldntsay.blogspot.com/2013/03/today-in-mail-zyx-63.html

i heard from my publisher today. it looks like Sofisticated White Trash has been delayed yet again. hopefully it will arrive in April.

and with all the poetry happenings today, i sat down and wrote 3 poems. not bad for having absolutely nothing going on in my head that i had to write about. 1 of them i really like. got a place in mind that i will be sending these 3 to, probably later on next month.

big tv night tonight. all going on at roughly the same time or running into each other, New York Rangers vs. Philadelphia Flyers, New York Yankees spring training game, The Voice, USA vs. Mexico in World Cup Qualifying. another night where i need that Elvis wall of televisions. and hopefully 2 victory beers before i call it a night.

i enjoyed the return of The Voice last night. it's one of the few reality shows that i actually enjoy.

as for Monday Night Raw, any show that ends with John Cena writhing in pain gets a big thumbs up from me. not that i actually watched much of it last night. anytime The Voice was in a commercial so was Raw. that got a little annoying after awhile.

good luck to the Dayton Flyers Women's team tonight against Kentucky. it would be nice to see them make it to the Sweet 16 this season. they certainly deserve it.

until tomorrow or whenever i post again...
