it finally rained today. of course, it was really coming down while my mother was in her physical therapy appointment. not exactly fun driving home while arthritis is raging like a motherfucker. oh well. i did get 3 poems written while i was in the waiting room. i typed those up this afternoon. i should be sending some poems out this weekend most likely.

the New York Rangers lost last night at the Devils, 5-2. they play tonight at home against Boston.

AEW Dynamite was really good last night.

American Horror Story was great last night.

The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.

it was bound to end sometime...

i woke up with a terrible headache this morning. i'm not sure if it was the alcohol (not likely) or the massive cold front that moved through the area last night. plus, the clocks got moved forward a hour. anywho, i felt like something bad was going to happen today and sure enough...

i really wanted Manchester United to take the momentum they got in Paris and have it travel with them today when they faced Arsenal. sadly, it didn't. instead, United had the letdown that i feared was coming. they simply were not clinical in the final third of the pitch when they needed to be. add in some shitty officiating, and you have yourselves a 2-0 loss. not exactly how i wanted to start my Sunday. this will be a good test for Ole to see how the team responds from this.

the Dayton Flyers won last night at Duquesne, 78-67. they finished the regular season with a record of 21-10. that's 7 games better than last season. they are the 3 seed in the A10 Tournament, which means they won't play again until Friday night.

the New York Rangers scored 4 straight goals last night to defeat New Jersey, 4-2.

the New York Yankees won last night over Baltimore, 6-1. they have a split squad today playing against the Pirates and Tigers.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

ROH was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for the Queen of Soul, The Case Against Adnan Syed, the series finale of Crashing, High Maintenance, Last Week Tonight, Total Bellas, the season finale of Shameless, Black Monday and SMILF. i'll be watching WWE Fastlane for most of the evening on WWE Network.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow. mom has physical therapy at 4 in the afternoon, so i'll try to get the blog done before i take her. i also have some medications for me to pick up...

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

i suppose, since it's 4 in the afternoon now, i should think about eating lunch.

until tomorrow kids...

i think today took a few years off my life

the one thing i always wonder about, as we move closer to a cashless and automated society, what the fuck happens when the internet goes out? well, today was my day to figure that out when i was at the grocery store. the internet kept going in and out and was slow as fuck. of course, i had no clue this was going on as i was filling my cart up with everything that was on the scroll for a grocery list. i think i was in line for over 20 minutes before i could even get the shit out of the cart. now mind you, my left leg starts throbbing in pain after about 2 minutes of just standing. by the time i had put my credit card in and waited like a good boy, i wanted someone to just take a saw and cut the damn leg off. joy.

and then i got home to a insurance crisis with my mother. i guess our doctor and his other doctors in their practice quit right before Christmas. i think they are going with a new medical group. and i have no damn clue if my insurance or my mother's insurance will be accepted by them. apparently mom got a hold off whoever is in that group now at the old place and they explained to mom the mess they are in the process of cleaning up. now the crisis part is my mom's doctor never sent in the fucking paperwork for her disability claim. she got a letter in the mail today that if they don't have that paperwork by Jan. 7th, her claim will be denied. and then she has no fucking money coming in and has to start drawing from her retirement two years before she wanted to. if the people cleaning up the mess can't find the paperwork, mom is basically fucked. not exactly how i wanted to spend my afternoon.

Smackdown was really good last night.

205 Live was pretty good last night.

Drop the Mic was good last night but easily the weakest episode of the season so far.

i did watch a good portion of the USA vs. Denmark game last night in the World Juniors tournament. the USA's defense of their gold medal from last year got off to a great start. they destroyed Denmark last night, 9-0. they will play Slovakia tomorrow night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Treehouse Masters. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Washington. it would be nice to see the Rangers win tonight.

last night when i was doing the trash, i somehow managed to cut my middle finger on my left hand really good. it's not quite deep enough for stitches. but it's right in the spot where i hit it every fucking time i use the finger to type. my 40's have turned into a test to see just how much i enjoy the pain. great.

i'll be on here sometime tomorrow after mom and i go to Menards. they have some really great deals on stuff we use all the time (toilet paper, napkins, etc.). so, we might as well stock up and get some money back in the rebate offer. i think she also has some prescriptions that should be ready at the grocery store tomorrow. i figured they would have called as i was on my way home from there today. that would have been the cherry on top of this fucking day.
