so damn hot...

the heat today was oppressive for sure. it was classic Ohio in the summer, but it felt like an August heat. the air you can wear. and it was like that from the moment i woke up. of course, i didn't fall asleep to almost 5 in the fucking morning. i was hoping i would get some poems written but that never happened last night. one thing that happens to me in the summer is i have so much other shit i am interested in, the poet in me tends to get lost in the shuffle. every once in a while, i have to blow up that fucker's ego and just go for it. of course, i would love to not have to jump through any fucking hoops. but that utopia has always been foreign to me.

so, the doctor's appointment went well yesterday. my weight was down. my A1C was down. my blood pressure was perfect. hell, the appointment was shorter than the drive there. i will have to do some bloodwork and a urine sample before my next appointment. that is in September.

the baseball cards from Repacked Wax yesterday were excellent. i spent a little under $40 on the 10 packs. there was close to $80 worth of cards in them. that is why i keep buying from them. the best card in the packs was a 1973 Topps Tom Seaver.

the Yankees lost last night down at that dump in Tampa, 5-4. hopefully, they will win the series tonight.

i did watch some of the NHL awards last night. Igor Shesterkin won the Vezina trophy. i have a feeling it won't be the last time he wins it.

NXT was pretty good last night.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

Holey Moley was crazy as usual last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and AEW Dynamite.

Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight.

the grocery shopping went pretty well today. i was able to keep the bill under $100 at Kroger today. that was a minor miracle.

mom's injection worked for the most part. she knows it can't take away all the pain, but it has taken away a good portion of it.

she is going to try to go to physical therapy tomorrow. so, i'm going to try to get the blog done in the morning so i won't be trying to squeeze it in tomorrow night.

there are storms all around us but no rain here as i am writing this. but my arthritis doesn't know that. fuck me.

until tomorrow kids...

muggier than two rats fucking in a wool sock

holy fucking hell, it was muggy today. i swear i nearly choked on the air when i went outside this afternoon to go to the grocery store. of course, my back was shitty all morning as well. good times.

i did get everything on the grocery list today. i amazingly found some football and hockey cards at Meijer today. those were a bit pricey but i did get some really good rookie cards.

the Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday, 5-3 and 2-0. that puts them in a playoff position for the first time in months. and it also means Boston is behind them for the first time since April. hopefully, they will finish off the sweep tonight.

NXT was really good last night. i can't wait for Takeover 36 this Sunday.

Hard Knocks was excellent last night.

Deadliest Catch was good last night.

so mom's doctor's appointment went well yesterday, other than the 30 damn minutes where they forgot we were in the room waiting for them to tell us she could leave. she can get the injections again and they gave her a pain and muscle relaxer to take. i got that at the pharmacy today. i'm really hoping it works for her.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, AEW and Big Brother.

so, mom wanted to go to Waffle House after her appointment yesterday. i went online and figured out what she could have that would fit into her sodium allowance. so, we went to the Waffle House in town and it was closed. i swear, that has to be the sign of a town dying. we got some food from McDonald's instead.

i should be on here sometime tomorrow in the early afternoon.

well, the pen still works...

i wrote 5 poems last night. i have been so completely uninspired these days in regards to my poetry. but, thankfully, the pen still works. i wrote what i believe to be 5 pretty good poems. i did a little work this morning until my back tapped out. i know where my next 16 poems are going. that will hopefully happen tomorrow or Saturday.

i got out this morning and filled the bird feeders. the weather is supposed to be pretty good the next couple of days.

the Yankees got an amazing game from Gerrit Cole last night. 8 innings pitched, 12 strikeouts, no walks and 4 hits. the Yankees won last night over Tampa, 1-0. that was the first series they have won against Tampa since god knows when. they go for the sweep tonight.

AEW was really good last night.

The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night. i got my guess of the Russian Dolls exactly correct.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, the season finale of Young Sheldon, the season finale of B Positive, The United States of Al, Clarice, Dark Side of the Ring and Dark Side of Football. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on Peacock.

i hope Manchester United beats the shit out of Liverpool today. that should start in a hour or so, all depending on the protests.

i should be on here tomorrow after i take mom to a doctor's appointment. i think she's supposed to have a nurse come out here tonight to check her out. i'm not thrilled that it is supposed to happen at 10 PM.

that's all for me kids.

happy earth day...

when i used to live on the farm, i would always try to do something outdoors on earth day. now that i live or better yet, am trapped in suburbia, today has been laundry day. good times.

your poet of the day for this day of National Poetry Month is John Grey. i believe John and i have been published in the same places for over 20 years now.

AEW was very good last night.

there was a double elimination on The Masked Singer last night. i didn't get either correct.

the season finale of Snowfall was fucking great last night.

the Yankees lost to the Braves last night, 4-1. they are off to their worst start since 1991. oh boy. they start a series tonight in Cleveland.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Sheldon, B Positive, Desus & Mero, Cake, The United States of Al and Dark Side of the Ring: Confidential. i watched NXT UK this afternoon. it was very good.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Philadelphia. hopefully, they will win.

i found out that one of the hockey cards i got yesterday is going for $12 these days. that made me happy.

if the plans don't change, i believe i will be taking mom to get a haircut tomorrow. i will be getting mine cut as well.

mom told me yesterday that the nurse that was here last thought she heard some water in mom's lungs. so, that could be reason why i didn't sleep for shit last night.

i should be on here in the afternoon tomorrow. my last load of laundry just got done in the dryer, so that is all for me kids.

let's see how i do on 3 hours of sleep...

when i saw that the low was going to be 76 last night, i knew i wasn't going to have a chance in hell of getting any good sleep. sure enough, i got roughly 3 hours of sleep before i got up this morning to watch Manchester United play.

Manchester United won 1-0 over Inter Milan this morning over in Singapore. Mason Greenwood, who is all of 17 years old, scored the game winner. i really liked how United pressed in the game, always seemed to be on the front foot. if that is how they intend to play this season, i will be a happy man.

i had to take mom to the drugstore this morning. and then she wanted me to take her to get breakfast at McDonald's. it's hotter than fuck outside already.

the New York Yankees defeated Colorado last night, 8-2. hopefully, the train keeps rolling on this afternoon.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

the season finale of Los Espookys was pretty good last night.

Shangri-La was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and ROH.

i will probably watch plenty of baseball and soccer today while napping as much as possible in my massage chair.

it currently feels like 97 outside. the feels like temperature is supposed to get up to 110 today. joy.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow, before the Yankees play and before the baseball hall of fame ceremonies.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

until tomorrow kids...

while i should have been asleep...

i mailed out 9 poems this morning. as in morning, i mean having a creative outburst around 3 in the morning. i sent 4 to Hobo Camp Review and 5 to The Writing Disorder. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

the New York Yankees won last night over Toronto, 4-3. they hit 4 solo home runs, which set the new MLB record for consecutive games with a home run. hopefully, they will get the sweep this afternoon.

in Gold Cup action last night, Jamaica and Curacao finished 1-1 and Honduras knocked out El Salvador 4-0. tonight, Trinidad & Tobago take on Guyana and Panama and the USA will face each other to see who wins the group. the winner takes on Curacao in the start of the knockout rounds.

the Women's World Cup has reached the final 8. tomorrow, Norway takes on England. on Friday, France plays the USA. and on Saturday, Italy plays the Netherlands and Germany takes on Sweden.

Smackdown was pretty good last night, as was 205 Live.

Deadliest Catch was crazy last night.

Songland was very good last night.

Big Brother was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, True Justice: Bryan Stevenson's Fight For Equality, Big Brother and two episodes of The Wrestlers. i'll watch NXT and NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i forgot how backwards the city i live in is on my drive to the post office this morning. nothing quite like seeing someone proudly putting up their confederate flag. the ignorance in this town makes no fucking sense to me.

i go to the doctor tomorrow afternoon. i'm sure i will be told i need to go back on the one medication or be given a new medication as my blood sugar numbers have completely gone to shit. i will probably be back on here after that tomorrow. joy.

the feels like temperature was already to 90 before noon today. so yeah, i'll most likely be indoors for most of the rest of the day.

until tomorrow kids...

the end of 2018

it's rather appropriate that it has been raining all fucking day today. last i checked, we were at 1.7 inches of rain. i won't be shocked if there is another inch or so by the time i check again.

i'm not really going to miss 2018. while it was probably my best year for writing and getting published... i'll remember the year more for two of my best friends ever deciding they would rather be cunts than continue to be friends with me. that has brought on a little more of an introspective look at myself and my piss poor job at seeing these things coming. i do plan on some changes in 2019. more on that tomorrow.

Manchester United continued their great play under their new manager, defeating Bournemouth 4-1 yesterday. i absolutely love the way Paul Pogba is playing now.

the New Orleans Saints were rather uninspired yesterday and it showed. they lost to Carolina 33-14. now, the season they won the Super Bowl, they lost to Dallas, Tampa and Carolina that year. those are the same 3 teams they lost to this season as well. could just be a coincidence but i'd love for that to be a sign. the Saints are the 1 seed in the NFC and won't play again until Jan. 13th.

Ray Donovan was really good last night.

the finale of Escape at Dannemora was excellent last night. i do feel like the show is going to win some awards for sure.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i will watch most or at least some of Monday Night Raw tonight.

the New York Rangers play tonight in St. Louis. maybe the boys will surprise me again tonight.

team USA plays Finland tonight at the World Juniors. i'll probably be watching that as the ball drops tonight. i'd love to see the USA win. i'll probably watch some of Canada vs. Russia before the USA game as well.

so mom had me go to the grocery store to get her pills today. i couldn't believe how fucking long the line was for prescriptions. and after standing in line for almost a hour, i couldn't believe i hadn't made it up to the counter. thankfully, all her pills were ready and i was able to get out of there before my blood sugar really dropped. of course, i also had to pick up lunch, so there's nothing like a late lunch around 4 PM.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. it will probably be long before Ohio State plays in the Rose Bowl.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. if you are partying tonight, stay safe. i hope the weather is better wherever you are. and i wish all of you a healthy and happy 2019.
