welcome to National Poetry Month...

come every April here on the blog, i try to do a little something special for National Poetry Month. but, since the apocalypse is upon us and i'm not really in the mood, don't expect anything magnificent this year. i'm sure i'll post some videos, maybe even do a few myself. i know i am planning on doing some recording this month. hopefully, i will do some writing and get some shit published as well. with that being said, here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:

i did go to the bank today. i could tell i was out of it. couldn't figure out how to open the tube in the drive thru and i fucking forgot to sign the check. i guess 3 hours of sleep isn't going to cut it anymore. after that, i went to the drugstore. of course, no fucking toilet paper at all to be found. i wasn't in the mood for a search today, so after i got what was on the list, i went home. i think i might have got about 30 minutes of sleep this afternoon. that will have to do.

Dark Side of the Ring and After Dark last night were both brilliant. the topic last night of the show was New Jack. New Jack was probably the craziest wrestler i've ever seen in my life.

WWE Backstage was good last night.

The Scheme was really good last night. it really showed how naive the NCAA and FBI are about money in college basketball.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Masked Singer, AEW and NXT.

hopefully, i will have a new recording posted by tomorrow on SoundCloud. i have about six poems i'd like to do this month.

amazingly, i haven't had a drop of alcohol in weeks. god i can't wait for sports to come back.

the other thing about April 1st, it is the anniversary of my baptism. i don't think anything can describe my relationship with god better than being baptized on April Fool's Day.

here are some links to poems you should read...

stay healthy kids...

the joy of a bad back and snow...

i was really hoping to go to the basketball game today. that was my plan when i fell asleep last night. i woke up this morning with a back aching and new snow coming down. i haven't been able to get my back loose yet, and right now is when i would be leaving for the game. oh well. it is on television. hopefully, Dayton will continue their winning streak.

the grocery store yesterday was a bit of a zoo. but, it looks like i got the shopping done yesterday the only time this weekend it won't be snowing or raining.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

High Maintenance was great last night.

the New York Rangers didn't show up last night until 3 minutes left in the game. they lost to Buffalo, 3-2.

the USWNT defeated Mexico last night, 4-0 to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics. they will face Canada next to see who wins the tournament.

The Shop was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Saturday Night Live.

i'm sure i'll watch plenty of college basketball this afternoon.

eventually, i'll have to go down and get the paper and mail. i'll do that when it stops snowing. hopefully that will be before Dayton plays today.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i'm off to go ice down my damn back.

until tomorrow kids...

welcome to national poetry month

as many long time followers of this blog already know, i do a little something extra for this blog every April. for this year, i think i'm going to do a couple videos each day of favorite poets of mine.

the New York Yankees are doing the same shit this season they did last season. last season, they had trouble defeating the teams that absolutely sucked. it's why they lost the division to the Red Sox. well, they started off this season losing the first series to an Orioles team that is fucking awful. the game yesterday had a rain delay of over 3 hours to start. the Yankees ended up losing the game, 7-5. they start a series tonight at home against the Tigers.

the New York Rangers won yesterday at Philadelphia, 3-0. they play tonight at New Jersey.

the college basketball games yesterday were great. it should definitely be a very interesting Final Four. Auburn vs. Virginia and Texas Tech vs. Michigan State.

the finale of The Case Against Adnan Syed was pretty depressing last night. i hate that our justice system in this country has no problem keeping an innocent man in jail, as long as they aren't white. if Adnan would be named John Smith and be white, he never would have gone to jail in the first place. and the fact that all that matters is wins and losses is beyond troubling. of course, no one gives a shit until it happens to them.

Barry was excellent last night.

Veep was hilarious last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual. it will be interesting to see what the WWE response to the main piece on the show will be.

Billions was really good last night.

the finale of Black Monday was pretty good last night.

the finale of SMILF was good last night. you could tell they had thoughts on doing a third season with how the show ended.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i have to take mom to her doctor's appointment this afternoon. she wants to go out to eat afterwards (if she feels up to it). tomorrow, she gets her injection in her back. she's really looking forward to that. her back has been really killing her the last few weeks.

and at some point this week i need to go to the bank and pick up my prescriptions at the grocery store.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i'm pretty bummed about the Nipsey Hussle news. i can't say i was his biggest fan, but i did enjoy listening to his music. and 33 is way too fucking young to die.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

cuando toda la esperanza se ha ido ...

i'm running on 4 hours of sleep...

i often joke about how i will sleep when i am dead. today is one of those days when it is no fucking joke. i got to bed at 5 this morning and was up a little after 9. took mom to her 2 appointments today, wrote 11 poems while waiting at physical therapy and now i'm trying to get a blog done before wrestling comes on. i figure at some point, exhaustion will set in. or maybe not.

the New York Rangers lost yesterday at Pittsburgh 6-5. it was an entertaining game, and i couldn't give two shits if the Rangers win or lose anymore this season. my mind is more fixed on who are they going to trade at the trade deadline 7 days from now.

WWE Elimination Chamber was really good last night. i love who they made the first female tag team champions. i love that Finn Balor won the Intercontinental championship. i love that The Miz and Shane lost the Smackdown tag team titles, and i absolutely loved Daniel Bryan keeping the WWE Championship. Kofi Kingston was amazing again in the main event. and i fucking love that The Man showed up and beat the shit out of Charlotte and Ronda Rousey.

Total Bellas was pretty good last night.

True Detective was great last night. i fucking can't wait for the season finale next week.

Crashing was good last night.

High Maintenance was excellent last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking hilarious as usual. so happy that the show is back.

Shameless was really good last night, especially the ending.

Black Monday was really, really good last night.

SMILF was better than usual last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i didn't get to see any of the game, but Manchester United did defeat Chelsea today, 2-0 in the FA Cup. Ole is the first manager to win at Chelsea since Sir Alex. this puts United in the quarterfinals against Wolves. that won't be an easy trip. i do love the response from the team after losing to PSG. next will be a match at home against Liverpool.

it snowed for most of today. thankfully, it didn't really accumulate.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i will be on here hopefully before Dayton plays at Davidson tomorrow. mom has a scan tomorrow that is supposed to take maybe 3 hours or so. this is to check what her MRI showed. i'm hoping it goes well and we don't have a fucking cancer scare to deal with now. good times.

until then kids...

election day...

i could have titled this blog voter suppression day, but that would be too fucking obvious. i read the story out of Detroit of a place not having any voting machines or the video from Georgia of the machines not having any cords to plug them in. given all the lengths people go to to make sure people of color don't vote in this country, imagine if they put that much effort into actually running the country. god fucking forbid.

i sent out 14 poems earlier today. 4 to Great Weather for Media and 5 each to Synchronized Chaos and Horror Sleaze Trash. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

The Voice was really good last night. i can't wait for the live shows.

Monday Night Raw was more or less, a bunch of fucking rematches with a tag title change. since the show was recorded (the WWE is in Europe at the moment), i pretty much already knew what was going to happen. that's why i had no problem having a conversation with the muse while the show was on in the other room.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Jim Jefferies Show and the season finale of Mayans M.C.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Montreal. hopefully, they will continue their winning streak.

the landscapers came by this afternoon and planted the tree they had ordered for the yard. it will be interesting to see if it survives these fucking winds today.

i don't plan on watching election results tonight. i know how stupid the people in this state are, so i'm not expecting any of the candidates i voted for to win.

i do need to pick up the trash here and next door. hopefully, i can avoid a political discussion with my aunt. we have similar views, but i'm really not in the mood today.

i will be on here tomorrow early, well before Manchester United plays Juventus tomorrow.

and long before mom and i go to see the Dayton Flyers play their first regular season game tomorrow night against North Florida.

i hope everyone that is registered to vote did so today. i could say i don't care who you voted for, but that would be a lie.

until tomorrow kids, if there happens to be one...

welcome to national poetry month 2018

since being a poet is one of the few gifts i was given at birth (that and being a smart ass), i try to do something a little special in this blog for the month. but my ambition is usually derailed by my lack of skill with this technical shit, so it will be either a video or a link, but i do want to spotlight some poetry each day for April.

so here is your poetry for today:

the New York Yankees lost to Toronto yesterday 5-3. the demons that Betances developed last year have followed him to this year. joy. and the injuries are fucking piling up already. the Yankees still have a chance to win the series with a victory against Toronto today.

the New York Rangers won 2-1 last night at Carolina. that eliminated Carolina from having a chance to make the playoffs.

i didn't watch much of the basketball games last night. i'm not surprised that the title game tomorrow will be Michigan vs. Villanova.

Operation Odessa last night was great. probably one of the more entertaining documentaries i have seen in a long time. i highly recommend it.

ROH was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Our Cartoon President, Homeland, Billions, Here and Now, Barry, Silicon Valley and Last Week Tonight.

my sister made coffee this morning. i forgot she likes her coffee like she likes her men, black and bitter. needless to say, i'm without my caffeine today. joy.

i did watch the debut of Zlatan Ibrahimovic yesterday for the LA Galaxy. let's just say i wasn't surprised...

i think everyone is going next door for Easter today. so at least i'll be able to watch the Yankees game today in peace.

i will probably get my next batch of poems ready to go out this month at some point today. i'd like to be really productive this month.

i forgot just how much i like the taste of brandy. i was hoping those two drinks would have put me to sleep last night. instead, i was up at 3 in the morning watching some show about beavers being reintroduced into the wild and all the good they do. insomnia will eventually be the death of me.

i hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday. hopefully your Easter Sunday will be even better.

arthritis wins again

probably around 10 last night, my arthritis started raging. i tried drinking. i tried the massage chair. i tried watching porn. none of it helped at all. i think i tossed and turned all night long. the last 10 hours or so have been a fresh slice of hell. joy.

i did take mom to the doctor yesterday. the doctor believes her cough is from post nasal drip. so we had to go to the drugstore to pick up some over the counter shit that should take care of that. more concerning for me was my mother's blood pressure. it was way elevated yesterday. she told the doctor that she takes it every morning on her little wrist monitor. the doctor told my mother those aren't accurate. so, that was another thing we had to get yesterday at the drugstore. and judging from what the new monitor said the first two times mom used it, i think when she goes back to the doctor in a month, they will be changing her blood pressure medication. good times.

i saw an interesting news piece on Vice News Tonight last night. it was about this black woman from America that has started a retreat for black women in Costa Rica. she made the comment that she believes white people, especially from America, shouldn't have passports as white people have already done enough damage to the world. i laughed and told my mother it's just my luck. i have wanted to live in Costa Rica for the last few years. my luck, i'd find this amazing black woman that i would want to spend the rest of my life with there, but she believes i'm an evil person and wants nothing to do with me because of the color of my skin. it's like my life in high school all over again.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i do love how they are getting Elias over and i do love a pissed off Seth Rollins.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Baskets and Hate Thy Neighbor. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers lost last night 2-1 at Dallas. i am shocked at how bad the defense on this team truly is. if The King wouldn't have been sharp last night, they would have lost by 5 or 6 goals. the best thing this team could do is trade as many people as possible, tank the season, miss the playoffs and hope you can luck into the top draft choice. and getting a new coach wouldn't hurt either.

i've been exchanging emails with the last woman i fell in love with today. it went way better than i expected it to. so, as you can imagine, i'll be doing some writing here soon.

well, instead of listening to my mother cough up a lung in the next room, i think i'm going to go next door and do the trash.

that's all for me kids.

i never did like this day

i suppose i have always been an old soul. i love making people laugh but April Fool's Day is one of those who gives a shit days for me. of course, it does start national poetry month, which is a good thing, at least in theory.

i'm not really sure what i'm going to do for national poetry month this year. as i quickly brainstorm, i suppose the video of the day will be a poem each day this month. there, done with it.

the WWE Hall of Fame ceremonies were excellent last night. they were long as hell, but to see Kurt Angle douse himself with milk at the end of it was fucking worth it.

NJPW was excellent last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was fucking hilarious as always.

the New York Rangers lost in a shootout last night to Pittsburgh, 4-3. i figured they would lose since they can't win at home for anything now. at least they will be starting the playoffs on the road. they play tomorrow night against Philadelphia. i won't watch much of that game either.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

i will be watching NXT Takeover:Orlando for most of the evening on WWE Network. it should be amazing like all of the Takeover events have been.

i could tell from the first few minutes today that West Brom had come to Old Trafford and was looking for a 0-0 draw against Manchester United. that's exactly what fucking happened. not exactly the kind of frustration i wanted to start my day with.

i did watch the press conference for Anthony Grant this afternoon. i'm interested to see who he will have on his coaching staff and what recruits are still going to come to Dayton, if any. i did like what i heard from him about how Dayton will play. and i do know all the current players love that he has ties to the NBA.

i was really hoping the weather was going to be nice this weekend. instead i have the fucking furnace on as it is in the damn 30's outside. good times.

i suppose that's a good excuse to be inside and watch the Final Four tonight. Gonzaga vs. South Carolina and Oregon vs. North Carolina. or maybe not.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

a great day to be a wise ass

welcome to National Poetry Month. i'm not sure how i'm going to "celebrate" it this year. i think i'm going to post one video a day in this blog of a poet. i might even post one of myself, but don't count on it. so for today, here you go:

the New York Rangers pissed away a chance to clinch the playoffs last night, losing 4-3 at Carolina. it would have been nice if the storm that hit here would have knocked the satellite out for the 3rd period. fuck me. another loss and they will be playing themselves into the wildcard. joy.

i was able to see The Big Bang Theory before the storm hit. it was very funny. i got to see about the first 10 minutes of Life in Pieces and the last 15 minutes of the season finale. what i did get to see was hilarious. i'll probably see if i can find it online. i didn't bother with Smackdown as i knew it didn't fully record and i knew what had happened anyways. the Stone Cold Podcast with Mick Foley last night was pretty good. i remember seeing Cactus Jack back in the late 80's and he immediately became a favorite of mine. i did see Lip Sync Battle last night. i don't watch The Walking Dead, so i had no clue who the two women were. but, i was entertained.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW.

i am really looking forward to NXT Takeover: Dallas tonight. to see Nakamura in a WWE ring will be a true highlight for me. his match with Sami Zayn should be an early candidate for match of the year. plus, Bayley vs. Asuka should be off the charts amazing. plus, Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe should be great as well.

i listened to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast preview of the NXT event late last night. i highly recommend the interview he did with Finn Balor. Finn will certainly be one of the future faces of the company. you can check it out by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2016/4/1/nxt-take-over-dallas-special-with-finn-balor

i think my mother will be calling sometime this afternoon for me to come get her up in Columbus. i believe the plan is for us to meet at my sister's place and then eat an early dinner. i told my mom the only thing i want to make sure is i can be back here before 10 pm. let's hope that is the case.

i haven't been outside yet to see if there was any damage from the storms last night. i know one of the trees on the property behind us got knocked over by the wind earlier in the day.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. between The Final Four and WrestleMania, i will be knee deep in sports and entertainment all fucking weekend.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a long, draining weekend

after thinking about it for a few hours, SummerSlam last night was a decent ppv that had a shitty finish and could have been so much better. the controversial finish between Undertaker and Brock Lesnar was stupid. i suppose this was all to set up another match down the line. if that was the best way WWE creative could up with, then i will send in my application tomorrow. i did like Jon Stewart turning heel and helping Seth Rollins defeat John Cena. i loved how no one on the broadcast said anything about the incredibly loud Thank You Stewart chants. i also enjoyed Kevin Owens defeating Cesaro. that match was great, it was just in the wrong spot on the card. the divas match had no flow in it at all. The New Day have won me over. they are playing the perfect heels. overall, as i figured, it wasn't as good as the NXT event the night before. and it went on for about 90 minutes too long. here's the thoughts of some more qualified people:

Monday Night Raw should be interesting. i figure the WWE will have a few tricks up their sleeves given all the publicity from last night. hopefully the third show from the same venue in 3 days goes out with a bang.

while i was watching wrestling last night, we had some rain come through. so imagine my surprise as i was watching the Sunday night shows and there was certain parts missing from the shows. thankfully, i was able to find most of them on the channels, so i didn't miss much. Big Brother was good. some more creative editing by CBS. the season finales of Ballers and The Brink went as i expected. neither show is "great". The Strain was fucking awesome last night. Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex were both really good. and as usual, Last Week Tonight was great once again:

i don't know what it is with the Yankees inability to beat last place teams, but it happened once again yesterday. and this time, it knocked them out of first place again. a 4-3 loss to a Cleveland team that is playing a ton of guys who no one has heard of before. as one headline writer put it, at least the ceremony was good. i was interested to see if Andy Pettitte was going to mention his HGH use at any point of his speech. he didn't, which didn't surprise me. i think most people have allowed themselves to forget about it. the Yankees play the first place Astros tonight, so maybe they will play like they are playing against a good team. i'm not holding my breath.

i'm currently watching Liverpool and Arsenal play. yet another game where i hope both teams lose.

i was a busy boy on NoiseTrade today. i got some great music for FREE. i'll include the links below in the music section.

since we're on the topic of music, enjoy:

and to round out the creative vibe, some art and some poetry:

on the DVR tonight will be Men in Blazers.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. the weather is supposed to take a turn towards the fall in the next few days. that means we're getting closer to me driving myself even more crazy with fantasy football. good times.

let the poetry begin

so, i sort of decided to do some random bullshit each day for National Poetry Month. some news stories, some poet spotlights, some YouTube videos, etc. etc. basically, whatever my lazy ass feels like doing that day. so, let's kick off the month with my favorite living poet, John Sweet.

if you are not familiar with John's work, shame on you. here's a few links to help you.
http://burningword.com/category/john_sweet/

http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/bleedinghorse99

and then do yourself a favor and go subscribe to his blog:
http://bleedinghorse.blogspot.com/

the New York Rangers got a much needed 3-2 win last night up in Winnipeg. the game had a little poetic justice with the winning goal. watch the highlights and you'll understand what i'm talking about.

i was up late last night getting my laundry done. but, i did manage to get some sleep, figuring the people coming to get the furniture were going to be here early. of course, that didn't happen. not sure why someone would piss away the chance to get over $1,000 worth of furniture for fucking free. oh well. not sure what's going to happen to it now, i just know it needs to get out of the fucking garage. soon.

i got a good nap in this afternoon and was using the vacuum when my mother got back home. i figured that was excellent timing; letting her believe i actually give a shit about keeping the new house clean. i thought i was driving her to work today but she decided she wanted to go it alone.

had a little test of my sanity today. nothing quite like opening up the blinds in the kitchen to see the woman that molested me as a child sweeping the sidewalk next door. i sort of just mumbled to myself  'i wonder how long until i murder everyone?'. good times.

i did get some poems ready to send to that broadside project. i'm guessing that will happen before the end of the week.

tonight on the DVR i will have Lucha Underground. mostly because since i have the WWE Network now, i get to finally see NXT. so, basically my night will be one filled with pro wrestling. seems like a fitting way to close up April Fool's Day.

that's all for me. i need to go over to the farm and get some more stuff out of there, feed the cats, and get the mail at the PO Box, etc. etc.

hope the new month finds everyone ready for some warmer weather.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
