the day after...

 so, i didn't have a great July 4th. the rain really fucked with my arthritis. hell, i think it was the first July 4th in forever where i didn't watch any fireworks. but, i did write one poem. i did watch some sports. and the weed gummies came today, so maybe shit will be changing soon.

the Yankees lost yesterday at home to the Reds, 8-4. the Yankees are playing like absolute shit right now. just in time to start a series at home against Boston. great.

now, i have watched a ton of soccer since i was last on here. let me start off with the Euro 2024... Spain defeated Germany today, 2-1 in extra time. France defeated Portugal on penalty kicks, 5-3. yesterday in the Copa America, Argentina defeated Ecuador in penalty kicks, 4-2. tonight, Venezuela takes on Canada.

i had to go to Kroger today to get what i forgot on Wednesday. it actually went much better than my usual Friday grocery shopping trips. had something that has never happened to me before while i was there. i was coming out of the bakery section and i saw this older black lady that looked like she was confused. so, i just came up along side her and she asked if i knew where the relish was? i said i believe it is in aisle 6. she thanked me for my time and i said no problem. i started to walk away and she said, even if you are wrong, thanks again for your time. i gave her a wave and thought, no one on earth has ever said that to me once. so, there's my good deed as i know the relish is in aisle 6. i hope she found what she was looking for.

i am hoping to be on here in the morning tomorrow. i know the Euro 2024 matches start at noon.

i won't be trying the weed gummies until i am done with my muscle relaxers. i instilled that discipline of not mixing my drugs in me when i was 13. probably one of the smartest decisions i have ever done. that being said, i only have 3 muscle relaxers left, so, i will be trying them soon.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. between soccer and pro wrestling, my weekend is going to be full.

this one hits a little harder...

 so, i was sitting in my massage chair watching tv this afternoon and an alert came on my phone. i did a double take and said oh fuck. and then the alerts came one after another. music has been a constant companion to me my entire life. and i love that i have been exposed to so many different kinds of music and to so many different kinds of musicians. but, when my life took a bend toward poetry being my main thing, i tended to really listen to singer songwriters and folk bands, etc. and the one group that really caught my ear was The Band. Robbie Robertson died today at the age of 80. fucking prostate cancer. those songs from The Band stoked my creativity as much as anything in my entire life. this one hits a little harder than i was expecting. thanks for all the damn memories Robbie. 

i'll be writing the rest of this through tears, so if i start to ramble or not make any fucking sense...

the Yankees won last night at the White Sox, 7-1. hopefully, they will win the series tonight.

NXT was excellent last night.

the season finale of Dark Side of the Ring was crazy last night.

been a productive few days i suppose...

 since we don't really do much for the 4th of July, i did my laundry yesterday, including my bedding. mom got me some funky sheets with skulls on them, so i decided it was time to put those on. and mom liked the holiday meal i put together. double cheeseburgers with coleslaw, mac salad and her favorite potato salad. and i guess everyone around here must have used up their fireworks before the 4th as there wasn't much last night, thankfully. 

the New York Yankees won yesterday at home against Baltimore, 8-4. hopefully, they will win again tonight.

i did watch a good portion of El Trafico last night. it is one of the best rivalries in the MLS.

i need to get going on dinner and picking up the trash, etc.
