ok, might as well start this off with where yesterday began...
Manchester United and Arsenal finished 1-1 yesterday. United almost won a few different times, but i guess only Bruno is allowed to score anymore.
a delightful trip into the dark mind of an evil genius or simply the musings of an asshole

so, i tried the weed gummy again last night. no luck. i talked myself to sleep a little after 4 in the morning. i woke up at 9. close to 5 hours isn't exactly what i was hoping for. oh well.
Ohio State won last night at Michigan State, 38-7.
mom wanted me to wake her up at 9:30 this morning for her 11 AM meeting with her financial planner. i was up at 6:45, so i could get all my shit done and have breakfast in me by 9:30. everything went to plan until the actual meeting. mom can't see well enough to do anything on her iPad other than play games. her regular computer is shit and mine has that fucking hum, so we had no choice but to use her iPad for this meeting. eventually, i got everything set up for her. i swear, i feel like an IT guy on call. once everything got set up and running, the meeting went fine. her financial planner does a really good job of communicating with mom so she knows what is going on. better, he makes sure i know what is going on since i have power of attorney.
quick tv update in the living room. we believe it might be the sound bar that is fucking up. we get the picture fine but the sound is all fucked up. so yeah...
AEW Dynamite was really good last night.
well, the fog finally lifted but there still was no sun today. i'm starting to think maybe it is a myth. i had to go to Meijer today to get some things. the lightbulbs we got for the new kitchen light haven't worked the way we were hoping. so, i just got some basic ones and they are working fine now. i had to get some coffee and some other stuff. i saved over $25 on everything and kept it under $100.
i did watch Killers of the Flower Moon last night. it was excellent. as i said to my mother around the middle of the movie, the saddest thing about this is all of this is based on true stories. if you have a spare 3 1/2 hours, i highly recommend checking this one out.
it rained and rained all night long. as you can imagine, i didn't sleep worth a shit. i probably didn't fall asleep until around 5 AM. thankfully, i woke up and was able to have breakfast before noon. i got all the grocery shopping done and was able to get back home before the next round of weather started. good times.
so, there has been some holy shit news today in pro and college football. Pete Carroll out as Seattle's coach and Nick Saban is retiring from Alabama.
so, it looks like it is going to be nearly 30 degrees warmer here in a couple of days. i know damn well all of this ice and snow will be melted by then. i swear, the weather in Ohio is meant to make sure everyone just stays sick. the guy that does our driveway did a pretty good job yesterday. and he charged mom less than he said he was going to, which was nice as well. mom called more pills in to Kroger, so i'm waiting to make sure all those are done before i go out and get them. hell, i might as well just wait until i do the grocery shopping tomorrow.
i did watch that Ric Flair documentary on Peacock last night. it was very good.
so, Christmas went pretty good yesterday. i think mom really liked what i got her. we had some really good food yesterday as well. now here is where the dysfunction kicked in. i took her blood pressure last night and for the first time in eons, it was where it was supposed to be. her first thought was that she was dying. that stunned me and i am a pessimist most of the time. for her to react to good news like that on Christmas was baffling to me. but, this does explain why anytime i get good news i'm always looking for when the other shoe to drop instead of enjoying it.
the New York Knicks lost yesterday at home to Philadelphia, 119-112.
