more snow than expected...

 so, i took a shower late last night. i didn't get to sleep until almost 6 this morning. imagine my fucking joy waking up with a cramp in my left leg after just 3 hours of sleep.

i know i said yesterday that i would have the blog done before the Manchester United game was going to start today. well, that didn't happen. United is down 1-0 at Tottenham so far today.

the Dayton Flyers won yesterday at home against Duquesne, 77-76.

the USA defeated Canada last night at the 4 Nations Face Off, 3-1. that qualifies the USA for the finals.

Finland defeated Sweden yesterday, 4-3, in OT. 

on Monday, Finland will play Canada and Sweden will play the USA. both games will be in Boston.

NXT Vengeance Day was excellent yesterday.

i did watch some of the NBA All Star Saturday night events.

AEW was ok last night.

Austin City Limits was very good last night.

 since i wrote 5 poems last night, i am running on a little over 3 hours of sleep right now. i knew i wanted to be up for the Manchester United game this morning. i should have just forced myself to sleep more. United lost at Brighton, 2-1. gave up the winning goal in the 95th minute. fuck me.

the Yankees won last night at home against Colorado, 3-0. today is Old Timer's Day at the stadium. hopefully, the Yankees will win again.

up too early for a Thursday...

 mom wanted me to wake her up at 9:30 this morning for her 11 AM meeting with her financial planner. i was up at 6:45, so i could get all my shit done and have breakfast in me by 9:30. everything went to plan until the actual meeting. mom can't see well enough to do anything on her iPad other than play games. her regular computer is shit and mine has that fucking hum, so we had no choice but to use her iPad for this meeting. eventually, i got everything set up for her. i swear, i feel like an IT guy on call. once everything got set up and running, the meeting went fine. her financial planner does a really good job of communicating with mom so she knows what is going on. better, he makes sure i know what is going on since i have power of attorney. 

quick tv update in the living room. we believe it might be the sound bar that is fucking up. we get the picture fine but the sound is all fucked up. so yeah...

at least it wasn't ice...

 it rained and rained all night long. as you can imagine, i didn't sleep worth a shit. i  probably didn't fall asleep until around 5 AM. thankfully, i woke up and was able to have breakfast before noon. i got all the grocery shopping done and was able to get back home before the next round of weather started. good times.

welcome to September...

 we had over 1.5 inches of rain yesterday. that truly fucked with my arthritis greatly. it still is killing me. nothing like bagging your groceries and your hands stop working. these are the days i tell my 8 year old self he was right, death was the only choice.

the Yankees lost again last night to the Angels, 6-4. hopefully, they win tonight to avoid the fucking sweep. now, they have basically no fucking chance to win the division so they need to concentrate on making sure the wildcard game will be at home.

the grocery shopping was a little crazy today. i did get some baseball cards at Rite Aid today. i bought one Fairfield box for $4. there was about $15 worth cards in it. i got some binders at Meijer today as they still had their sale going on. i wanted to get all the minor league cards in one binder by themselves. that really lessened the load in the binder i had them in. plus, now i have an extra in case i need one in the future. i got most of what was on the grocery list today. 

mom has her eye appointment tomorrow afternoon. i will most likely be on here after we get home from that.

tomorrow has clusterfuck written all over it with Ohio State playing, the USMNT starting their World Cup Qualifying and everything else on tv tomorrow night. at least the weather is supposed to be way less humid.

i guess i got a little lucky...

 my back was killing me this morning. the ice didn't really help, but i knew i had to get the grocery shopping done. i went to Rite Aid first, just to see if they had any baseball cards. they are behind the counter now, like cigarettes. fucking hilarious. i did get a Fairfield box that cost me $5. next to that Rite Aid is the local grocery store i go to. i found what i was looking for there and took all that back home. for shits and giggles, i decided to go to Big Lots since they usually have the Diet Coke cans mom likes on sale. of course, they didn't have any. but, i did stumble upon baseball, football and wrestling cards. i got the one pack of 2018 Topps WWE they had. i got 3 packs of 2021 Topps Heritage and 3 packs of 2021 Score football cards. all of that cost me under $45. so, i got all the cards today for less than $50. after going through everything, i probably have around $200 worth of cards, thanks to some great rookie cards in the Score packs. Kroger was my last stop today. i found everything on the list. i somehow kept it under $130. i made it home in time to watch some of the Euro 2020 games this afternoon. more on that in a bit.

so, the Euro 2020 today was fucking crazy. Sweden defeated Poland, 3-2. Spain defeated Slovakia, 5-0. Germany and Hungary ended 2-2 as did Portugal and France. the round of 16 is now set.

Wales plays Denmark. Italy takes on Austria. Netherlands will play Czech Republic. Belgium plays Portugal. Croatia will play Spain. France will play Switzerland. Sweden will take on Ukraine. and finally, England will play Germany. the first two of those matches will start on Saturday.

today in the Copa America, Ecuador and Peru finished 2-2. later tonight, Brazil will play Colombia.
