the grocery store was way more crowded than i was expecting today. and of course, my back had to be fucking with me the entire time. each step was a mental nightmare of pain tolerance. on days like these, my 44 years feels like 80 something. it's not fun.
i did listen in on my mother's call with her financial planner this morning. let's just say she's much better off than she realized.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night.
The Voice was good last night. most of the people i wanted to advance did.

i had to go to the grocery store today to pick up some pills and i knew with what time it was, today was going to be an interesting one. the sun has been out all day, school was in the process of letting out and i had places to go. i wanted to go get a frame for this print i got in the mail today and i wanted to get some lunch. between an old lady at the grocery store pulling out of a parking spot at an inch a minute, motherfuckers using their phones while driving, trucks way too big to be on small roads and clueless motherfuckers not understanding how a fucking turn lane works... it's a damn miracle i made it back home alive. as i told my mother walking in, i guess today was the day people wanted to tempt their fate. yes, there will be poems.

well, last night the cough turned into congestion. lovely. i'm doing my best to try to stay away from mom, as the last thing i want to do is get her sick. i got some cough syrup and cough drops yesterday at the store. i get the feeling i'll be making an appointment with the doctor in a few days. joy.
the New York Yankees took advantage of some Cleveland errors yesterday to win 5-2. that's their 14th win in their last 15 games. they haven't done that since 1998. the Yankees will go for the sweep this afternoon.
ROH was really good last night.
Saturday Night Live was fucking great last night.

i did watch the Kentucky Derby yesterday. the track looked horrible, so i tried to play it safe with the 3 horses i picked. i did pick the favorite, which ended up winning the race. Justify looks like a horse that could win the Triple Crown. my other picks finished 9th and dead last. joy.
i do plan on watching El Clasico today. i try to never miss a match between Real Madrid vs. Barcelona.
that's all for me today kids. i hope your Saturday was great. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

the grocery store was a madhouse this morning. apparently i didn't get there early enough as it looked like the elderly had already raided the place. at least i got most of everything mom had on the scroll and kept it under $150.
VICE was very interesting last night. i imagine most people don't even realize that the war with the Taliban in Afghanistan is still going on.
NJPW was excellent last night.
i happened to watch the Al Madrigal special on Showtime last night. fucking hilarious. i highly recommend it.
Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

i have no damn clue which horse is going to win the Kentucky Derby today. i suppose it will matter what the track is like. i do plan on watching though.
the New York Rangers play Game 5 this afternoon in Ottawa. i'm hoping the boys can continue the domination they showed in the past two games.
the New York Yankees play tonight in Chicago. hopefully the momentum from yesterday carries over to tonight.
i might try to squeeze in some writing tonight as i already have some poems ready for my next round of submissions.

i woke up this morning with some pain on my side. my mother thinks i might have strained a rib muscle. i laughed, wondering how the fuck i did that. i figured it had to happen during some tossing and turning during my sleep. i have no clue. my luck, it's not a muscle strain but something serious. given my pain tolerance, i usually don't get concerned until there's blood.
i'm going to try to write this quickly, as i might have to leave to get my sister at the airport. her flight was supposed to go to Columbus but i guess she's going to be on a flight to Dayton now from Philadelphia. i'm waiting for a ride home bitching about missing luggage. good times.
the New York Yankees pissed away great pitching last night because their offense fucking stinks. they lost 1-0 in 10 innings to end a god awful road trip. they play tonight at home against Boston, weather permitting. i'm sure they will find a way to lose.
The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night. i think the season finale is next week.
WWE Smackdown was pretty good. it mostly focused on the same two matches that Monday Night Raw focused on, which is fine by me. i just which there was a little more from the ladies.
Lip Sync Battle was hilarious last night. i really wish i was smoking pot during it.
enjoy some music kids:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE.
mom had the day off today, like she normally does on Friday. so, the sun was out, so fuck it, let's go out. we headed to lunch and got done with that pretty quickly. after that, we headed to Menards as i really needed bird food as i filled all of our feeders before we left. i even put out the hummingbird feeders as well. we found everything we were looking for, plus the solar light my uncle had been trying to find. of course, at this point mom started to feel a little sick. we're thinking it was from the potato skins we had at lunch. of course, i was feeling nothing. we headed to the grocery store. that went much faster than i thought it would. i might have a poem from the grocery store brewing. probably one with my mom forgetting to have the cashier ring up the Diet Coke she was drinking; telling on herself and the cashier telling my mother that she did ring it up. (she didn't as i was watching the entire time) i told my mom as we were leaving she's in her 60's, fucking steal, you've earned it.
busy weekend as usual coming up. mostly sports and other shit to do around the house, but with Mother's Day coming up, i figure my sister and i are going to come up with something. it might happen tomorrow, especially if my sister stays here tonight.
i will be on here tomorrow most likely after Manchester United plays in the morning and before the Kentucky Derby runs in the afternoon.
the Yankees are already losing, so the weekend is off to a great start. fuck me.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. enjoy, have some drinks, call if you need bail money.

tonight is the farm auction. i lived out there since 1997. i had so many good times out there, living with no neighbor within sight. but, that all comes to an end tonight. i'm hoping the auction goes well and hits a nice big number. at least enough so mom can pay off a few things and get debt free or as fucking close to debt free as possible.
today is another hot and muggy one here. so, i caught up on most of the television i missed over the last couple of days.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night. i have no clue how anyone could work in that type of storm.
i finally watched the David Letterman special from the other night. that certainly brought back some memories.
i was a little disappointed in The Voice last night. i do believe that India has the best voice on the show. but, she is clearly not the best performer. to see her get saved yet again last night over Kimberly was disappointing. but, the semi-finals are now upon us.
Undateable was fucking awesome last night. you could tell it was live and everyone really enjoyed it. i'll be keeping that one on the DVR for some time.
on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground. i'm hoping the auction is over in time for me to catch NXT tonight on the WWE Network.
also tonight the Yankees will be going for the series win after their 6-3 win last night. Michael Pineda is clearly turning into the ace of the staff.
and the New York Rangers have a must win Game 4 tonight in Washington. i don't like their chances if they fall down 3-1 in the series.
here's something to either make you laugh or reach for some lotion, choice is yours:
got some FREE music on NoiseTrade last night that is really good. i'll provide the links below.
the WWE special on ESPN last night was really good. i hope they do more stuff like that in the future as it certainly does expose many of the hidden gems the company has. and hopefully it forces them to get them up to Raw and Smackdown sooner rather than later.
that's all for me today. i'm heading over to the farm to go feed the cats (probably for the final time) and meet with the guy running the auction. mom certainly wants to know what's going on with all the other stuff out there (lawn tractor, my truck, furniture, etc.).
hope this finds everyone with a cool drink in their hands.

last night was another of those sports nights that i wish i would have been a comic book fan and never liked sports at all. but, thankfully, this afternoon has offered a glimpse of hope.
Manchester United won 3-1 over Hull City with James Wilson getting the first 2 goals on his debut with the senior team. not bad for 18 years old. RVP got the other goal on an assist from Ryan Giggs, who played the last 20 minutes of the game. he nearly scored but the goalie made a great save. i did laugh when the announcers said that the goalie must not have read the script since this was likely Giggs' last game at Old Trafford as a player. first season out of the 23 that he didn't score. unless of course he plays on Sunday. that will mark the end of this horrific season and the start to the summer of who knows what the fuck is going to happen next. thankfully, i'll have the World Cup to keep my mind from constantly thinking about it.
as for last night, the New York Rangers lost 2-0 in game 3. that's 2 straight games that they haven't scored. the power play showed signs of life last night but couldn't score, which is beyond frustrating by now. they better tie this series up in game 4 or it is going to be over soon.
the Yankees invented another way to lose last night. top of the 8th, bases loaded and no outs and they can't get anyone in. of course, a bad call from the umpire is the excuse these assholes will use. and then in the bottom of the 8th they walk FIVE straight batters to give the Angels the game, 4-1. that drove my frustration to the point that i was up until 4 in the morning.
Louie was excellent last night. both episodes made me laugh. the poker table scene was the best tv i have seen in 2014. helps when some of my favorite comics are involved.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good as well. i thought the show kept a decent pace for most of the evening even though the crowd was absolutely dead at times.
The Voice last night was really, really good. i have no clue who is going home tonight. i believe they cut it from 8 to 5 this evening. chances are there will be 3 people that could have won the whole thing going home tonight. i really think the talent this season is strong.
as for tonight, after The Voice will be Deadliest Catch. after that will be my torture of watching the Yankees. i imagine i will be watching some playoff hockey and basketball as well this evening. and hopefully i will be getting to sleep much earlier than last night.
i am planning on mowing the grass tomorrow. both of my legs feel much better and the weather looks like it is going to be great. i want to start sometime in the late morning so i can be done in time to get a shower in before the New York Rangers play again.
chances are i will write my next blog in the morning. i doubt i will be interested in writing after hours in the sun. i doubt i will be interested in doing anything.
hope this finds everyone well. hopefully your teams are doing better than mine. these are the days i wish i had a woman that could take my mind off of things. my hands are developing carpal tunnel i believe. enjoy that visual.

hopefully, at least i think so, most or all the crops got planted last night before the rain started. it's been a steady drizzle on and off for about 10 hours now. that does wonders for my bad mood and bad back. joy.
mom's mother's day gift came in the mail today. i was fearing it was going to be next Monday with what amazon.com was telling me. i'm pretty sure she won't see this one coming at all.
i spent the majority of last night and this morning fucking around with my YouTube channel. i think i finally have it the way i want it. now, i just need to get cracking on ideas for videos for my book. if anyone does any animation or music and would be interested in doing something, please drop me a line either here on the blog or email me. all my contact info is on the side of the blog. i think i'm going to do something with all the pictures i've been taking... just need to find the right poem in the book for it.
a huge night in just about everything i'm interested in. the New York Rangers play a MUST WIN game 3 tonight at home. that starts at 7:30 pm. the NBA playoffs start back up tonight at 7 pm. the live episodes of The Voice start tonight at 8 pm. as does Monday Night Raw. i've already figured out i'm going to try to catch The Big C on the west coast feed of Showtime at 1 am. thank god the Yankees are off tonight. it's going to be damn near impossible to fit all of this in as it is. now anyone can see why i say i don't watch commercials.
i really did enjoy the Sunday night shows last night. Vice is really start to grow on me.
if i don't beat myself up too bad this evening, i will hopefully have a little more in depth post tomorrow. hopefully describing a Rangers win, a skunk who is gone and no longer eating the cat food, 2 returning cats that have been gone for almost a month (little chance of that happening but why not shoot for the stars) and a truck that has magically started running better.
