so, for the most part, i believe my first go at cooking Thanksgiving went well. it was the first good meal mom has had in over 2 weeks. i made sure she would have plenty and still be under her sodium levels. that is never easy to do, but i guess i am just used to it by now. she was really happy and told others about it. that pissed some people off, which made me really happy. we watched some football and the World Cup yesterday. i turned the Dayton Flyers game off yesterday, as it wasn't good for either of our stress levels. i was hoping to have this blog done by now, but we got some rain overnight. and that always means i didn't sleep worth a shit. joy.
all 3 NFL games yesterday were pretty good. the Bills beat the Lions, 28-25. the Cowboys beat the Giants, 28-20. and the Vikings beat the Patriots, 33-26.
at the World Cup yesterday, Portugal defeated Ghana, 3-2. CR7 became the first male to score in 5 different World Cups. Brazil defeated Serbia yesterday, 2-0. this morning, Iran defeated Wales, 2-0. Senegal defeated Qatar 3-1. Ecuador is currently playing Netherlands. and in the final game today, England plays the USMNT. i really hope the USA men can pull off the upset today.
the Dayton Flyers lost to NC State yesterday, 76-64. they play BYU today, hoping to not finish in last place for the tournament. the last time Dayton went 0-3 in one of these tournaments, that team finished the season with just 4 wins.
we also watched the Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State game last night as well.

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and AEW Rampage. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.
i am not a big Black Friday shopper, never have been. i do have to go to Kroger today to get some stuff, so i'm sure that will be a giant clusterfuck.
the New York Knicks play tonight at home against Portland.
i should be on here tomorrow in the morning before Ohio State plays that school up north.
i hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. i hope if you are out shopping today, you find the deals you want or get a special gift for someone at a good price.

so, i wrote 5 poems last night. it was 4 in the morning when i got done typing them up. they are really good, i think.
i got my baseball cards i ordered from Repacked Wax today. in the first pack i opened there was a 1977 Topps George Brett that is worth more than i paid for all 5 packs combined. that made me really fucking happy. i highly recommend and will definitely buy from these guys again.
The Voice was very good last night. the live shows start next week.
my sister got down here this afternoon. we're going to have plenty of food for Thanksgiving.

i did watch a little college basketball today. it's kind of odd watching these games with no fans and the pandemic raging in all the places where the games are being played.
i'm going to try to be on here in the morning tomorrow.
if you are traveling today, hopefully you get where you are going safely.
i hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

i guess my medical procedure is a go tomorrow. i have to be at the hospital at 8:45 AM for a 10:15 AM appointment. hopefully, i will be coming home in the early afternoon. the EKG and blood work i had to have done this morning came back fine. so, hopefully everything goes smoothly and they don't find anything in my upper GI. of course, my cynical mind already thinks they are going to find something and it will probably send my mother over the edge. exactly how i wanted to spend Thanksgiving.
Manchester United played like shit for most of the game yesterday. then, they erupted for 3 goals in a matter of minutes to take a 3-2 lead over Sheffield United. but of course, they found a way to piss away that lead in the 91st minute. the game ended up 3-3.
the New Orleans Saints won yesterday over Carolina, 34-31. the refs tried their hardest to fuck over the Saints in this game, but ultimately failed.
WWE Survivor Series was good last night. i love that NXT won the show more or less.
Watchmen was excellent last night.
Silicon Valley was hilarious last night.
Mrs. Fletcher was good last night.
Ray Donovan was good and then had a nice holy shit ending.
Shameless was very good last night.
Dublin Murders was great last night.

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i wrote 6 poems while mom was doing her physical therapy today. i typed those up when we got back from Waffle House.
mom is really nervous about me going to the hospital tomorrow. i joked that it would be best for everyone if i died on the table.
my sister should be down here tonight. she'll be driving me to and back from the hospital tomorrow.
we got home from lunch in time to watch the end of the Dayton Flyers game today against Georgia out in Maui. Dayton whipped them, 80-61. they will play Virginia Tech tomorrow night. they just upset Michigan State. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/recap?gameId=401169859
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against the Minnesota Wild. hopefully, they will get a win.
if i do a blog tomorrow, it will be late at night. don't be shocked when i don't do one until Wednesday afternoon or so. if there isn't one by then, you can start to worry.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i was not expecting Ohio State to play like how i thought they could play all season long yesterday. i had been waiting for months, and with all the shit Michigan talked for the entire week before the game, i figured i would see a better Ohio State team but not the team that exploded for 62 points against the best defense in college football. Ohio State won 62-39. what i enjoyed most was the bewildered looks on the faces of Michigan fans. it's that hard realization that The Game isn't that much fun anymore, especially when you lose every year. now, i'm old enough to remember that feeling from the other side. hell, i still loathe John Cooper to this day because of it. but, even with his faults, Urban Meyer is 7-0 against Michigan. and as long as that 0 stays in the loss column, i will be a happy man. Ohio State plays Northwestern in the Big Ten title game next. i think if Ohio State does what it did in 2014 (when they whipped Wisconsin 59-0), they will have a realistic shot at making the playoffs. and if not, they will be in the Rose Bowl, screwing Michigan out of that. all in all, that's a win win situation. yet another senior class from Ohio State that only knows the taste of victory in The Game.
thank god i couldn't watch the Manchester United game yesterday against Crystal Palace. if i have to sit through another 0-0 draw, i will pull my fucking hair out. and as of right now, i'm not far from having to do that. all i did get to see was United being booed off of their home pitch. it looks like they deserved it.
the New York Rangers were up 2-0 yesterday against Washington. next time i flipped back over to the game, Washington was winning. sadly, that didn't change much by the final. the Capitals beat the Rangers 5-3. well, there goes the home winning streak.
i did watch that crazy fucking game between LSU and Texas A&M last night. that was one for the ages. A&M won 74-72 in 7 OT.
ROH was pretty good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Axios, Camping, Enemies: The President, Justice & the FBI, Ray Donovan and Escape at Dannemora. i do plan on watching the WWE 2018 Starrcade Special sometime tonight on WWE Network.
i will probably also watch some of the MLS playoffs today as well.
the rest of the day, i will probably catch up on some sleep. of course, the weather is supposed to turn to shit later today. figures, i have to take mom to get an injection into her back on Tuesday.
so, mom called the company she used out at the farm to look at our garage door yesterday. at least, she thought it was the company she used. turns out it wasn't but it worked out well. they checked it out and of course, like most things in this house, our garage door opener was the cheapest kind you could get when it was put in 25 years ago. one of the brackets broke when i opened it yesterday. they offered mom a discount on a new opener and thankfully, she took the offer. about 45 minutes later, we had a top of the line garage opener with a lifetime warranty. as i told her, it will be worth it in the long run.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.
i have no clue when i'll be on here on Monday.

i never have gone shopping on Black Friday. i never have felt the need to. i did get all my shopping done yesterday online, mostly because i don't like people and i'm lazy. the endless commercials and people trampling over people to get whatever is infuriating as much as it is comical. as a poet, i love the chaos. as a human, i often wonder how the fuck all of us are the same species.
the Dayton Flyers started off flat as fuck last night. they couldn't hit the fucking ocean with the ball if they tried. at one point, i believe they were down 21-7. as they usually do, they clawed their way back to tie the game. and like usual, they ran out of gas to be down by 9 at halftime. they hung around in the second half and made a late run, taking the lead in the final 30 seconds of the game. that would be their only lead of the game. Nebraska won 80-78. that means Dayton will play Portland tonight, instead of UCLA. so, that means tonight becomes a MUST WIN game unless you'd like to have one of those "ugly" losses that keeps teams out of the NCAA tournament in March. these last two games have taken a few years off of my life.
thankfully, Manchester United did a much better job earlier in the day. the team played with an urgency that was needed and got some clinical finishing for a change. a 4-0 win over Feyenoord was just what they needed. now they can control their own destiny in the Europa League. the best part of yesterday's game was when the sun actually shined on a dog's ass and Wayne Rooney scored. he's now 1 goal away from being the club leader in goals. the boys take on West Ham next on Sunday.
Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.

the New York Rangers play Philadelphia this afternoon. i'd really love to see the boys get back to winning consistently again.
i think i had a pretty productive Thanksgiving. i got mom's laundry done, although i'm not fucking sure where that other sock went. i also got all my Christmas shopping done. thank you Amazon.com.
i think i may try to do some writing today and maybe i'll get drunk enough that i'll actually do a video or something. who knows.
i hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. enjoy your consumerism day. and remember to help the little guy out tomorrow.

one thing i always did when i was a teen, i would take a notepad and pen with me to a mall or anywhere where there was going to be people. i do that today when i take my mother to the doctor. i wrote 7 poems yesterday while she was in her appointment. i figure i will type them up tomorrow between football games and memories of holiday dysfunction. what made me laugh yesterday was i heard a person whispering to another what's he writing there. if there is one thing i have learned over time, it's the enjoyment i get by making people nervous. it's also a good way to make sure you're always alone.
after the doctor yesterday, mom and i went to Menards. this one is way south of the one we normally go to. i could tell immediately by the women that worked there. much more attractive. of course, this is where most of the rich people live, so i'm guessing some of the parts have been cleaned up so to speak. after that we went to dinner. much more of the same. i suppose i will have some more poems to write this weekend.
after that, we got back home to get the trash out. i spent a good amount of time over at my uncle's. i joked that it has become Tuesdays with Morrie. sadly, the talks usually get to politics and then that's when i just let my crazy common sense shine. i personally hope no one votes in the next election. send the whole fucking thing into chaos. we got done with the trash just in time for The Voice.
all my favorites made it through another elimination. i was a little upset that Korin was in the bottom 2 once again. thankfully, she got saved and Evan was eliminated. he did absolutely nothing for me.
Scream Queens was excellent last night. the ending was awesome, even though you could see it coming a mile away.

on the DVR tonight will be the Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving Special. i will be watching NXT and some other shows on WWE Network.
the New York Rangers play a HUGE early season game with Montreal tonight. it should be a good test to see if the Rangers are really the best team in the east.
Manchester United can advance to the knockout round today if they defeat PSV Eindhoven. considering the game is at Old Trafford, i really like their chances.
i've got the first two loads of laundry going. hopefully i will have much of it done before the United game.
my sister is supposed to come down tonight, or maybe early tomorrow, all depends on her job.
i did my fantasy football picks this morning. most of my players actually play on Thanksgiving, so that will make it a very interesting holiday this year.
that's all for now. i have some clothes to fold and i have to figure out what i'm having for lunch. i hope everyone has a great day. if you happen to be traveling today, be safe.

talk about a Sunday to forget, for the most part, where do i begin?
Manchester United played a Cardiff team that they should have beaten easily. but, given all the injuries, i could understand a close win. but giving up a late goal for a 2-2 draw was mind fucking blowing to say the least. especially when United had a chance to win the game after that goal but Rooney decides to pass instead of taking on the goalie 1 on 1. always fun to blow a gasket on a Sunday morning and be pissed off for the rest of the day. guess what, still am actually.
my fantasy football day shit the bed as well. i only had 4 players all day long score touchdowns. how i managed to get a split in the results is beyond me.
what sort of saved my day from being one i wanted to brush my teeth with a shotgun was the season finale of Boardwalk Empire. holy shit, that was good. so many twists, bringing up shit from previous seasons and opening up huge storylines for the next season. just fucking brilliant.
Total Divas is basically just a hour where my brain gets some time off.
Homeland was crazy and outlandish. and the more the show gets like that, the more i think it is closer to the truth than anyone wants to realize.
Masters of Sex was pretty good as well. my eyes were struggling at this point of the night but i made it through.
i got some decent sleep, waking up this morning feeling somewhat refreshed. and then after the morning piss and seeing blood on the toilet seat that wasn't there before i sat down, started another whirlwind. i guess i had another blood blister that somehow got popped in my sleep. i always figured i'm a bad sleeper.
after dealing with that i had breakfast, which gave me the shits. why wouldn't it at this point. so, 2 pills later and i am hopefully stopped up for the next 24 hours. i imagine if i didn't have the outlet of writing and be comfortable enough to share all the horrific details, i would be yet another suicide. of course, i never tend to have any fucking clue what the future holds for me.
tonight will be another busy night. the New York Rangers play down in Tampa. hopefully the road winning streak continues. The Voice is live with the top 8 performing. Monday Night Raw is usually pretty interesting the night after a PPV. then, 1 hour after that ends, the Dayton Flyers play Gonzaga out in Maui. who knows what time i will be getting to sleep if they pull off the upset. if they get blown out, i will have no problems falling asleep. lose a game they could have won and i'll be up all night.
i'm hoping a few victory beers this evening puts me to sleep quickly.
i have absolutely no intention of watching the NFL game tonight. this was the absolute worst week of picking games EVER for me. going into tonight, i am 4-9 for the week. holy fuck, what a horrible day.thank god i don't gamble any longer. i'd be broke and have plenty of broken bones at the moment.
well, enough of my fucking rambling. hope this finds everyone well. my sister is coming down for the holiday week tomorrow night. let the dysfunction begin...
