one of those days...

yesterday fucking sucked. no other way to put it actually, it just fucking sucked.

let me start off with the first scar of the day. Ohio State had its ass handed to them by Michigan for the second year in a row. they lost 45-23. completely fucking unacceptable.

and then the second deep scar of the day... the New York Rangers pissed away a 3-0 lead in the 3rd period and lost to Edmonton, 4-3.

thankfully, Survivor Series last night was really good.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

The Caverns Sessions was pretty good last night.

here are some college football highlights from yesterday:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The White Lotus, the Howard Stern interview with Bruce Springsteen, Let The Right One In and Ziwe.

so, at the World Cup yesterday, France defeated Demark, 2-1 and Argentina defeated Mexico, 2-0. today, Costa Rica beat Japan, 1-0, Morocco shocked Belgium, 2-0 and Croatia beat Canada, 4-1, knocking Canada out of the World Cup. the last game today will be Spain against Germany.

the New Orleans Saints play today at San Francisco. i'd love to see the Saints pull off the upset today.

the New York Knicks play tonight at home against Memphis.

it has been fucking raining since last night. my back feels like absolute shit right now.

i'm not sure when i will be on here tomorrow. it kind of depends on how my mother feels.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

until tomorrow kids...

at least 2020 is getting closer to being over...

Thanksgiving went pretty good yesterday. it was the first time i had "pigged" out in months. at least what i had seconds of had vegetables in them. all in all, it was a pretty good day.

The Masked Singer was good last night. i got the Broccoli correct.

I Can See Your Voice was pretty funny last night.

NXT UK was excellent last night.

Miz & Mrs was hilarious last night.

neither NFL game was that competitive yesterday. i did watch a good amount of college basketball.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i did watch the USWNT win 2-0 today over Netherlands.

so, i guess something fucked up with the phone order my sister made. so, i guess now the phones are going to be shipped to us on Tuesday. of course, if i can't figure out how to get them set up, my sister won't be back here until around Christmas. joy.

i found out today that Ohio State's football coach tested positive for the rona. he won't be with the team when they play tomorrow at Illinois, if the game still happens. much like most of 2020, it's at the who the fuck knows stage.

also, Dayton's game tomorrow against Cedarville got canceled since someone in the Cedarville program tested positive. fuck me.

my Black Friday shopping today consisted of buying some more cards from Repacked Wax and supporting a black artist on Bandcamp.

i'm planning on being on here in the morning tomorrow, most likely.

i'm off to go ice down my shitty back and watch some more college football and basketball.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

if you don't have to go out for anything, don't. it's really that simple.

a change in plans...

so, with the title game out in Maui being played at 5 PM tonight, i decided to do the blog this morning so i wouldn't be trying to navigate a clusterfuck this afternoon.

Dayton defeated Virginia Tech last night, 89-62. they will play Kansas today for the championship. Kansas is #4 in the country. if Dayton pulls off this upset, i will be a happy, HAPPY boy.

The Voice was good last night. as usual, the wrong person went home, but i'm used to it by now.

WWE Backstage was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT and AEW.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Carolina.

i believe my sister is going with mom and i to get mom's glasses and the grocery store.

the winds aren't too bad here at the moment, but i do hear a train coming...

i will be on here early tomorrow, hopefully before Manchester United plays in the Europa League.

if you are traveling today, have some patience and stay safe.

until tomorrow kids...

of course, the weather forecast was wrong...

it was supposed to be a quiet day, with the snow stopping by early this afternoon. that didn't exactly happen, as it is still fucking snowing at the moment. and i'm running behind. i'm not exactly looking forward to going out in this shit to do the trash next door. joy.

i took mom to get her injection this morning. i really hope this one works longer than the last one did. i'd be thrilled if it lasted until 2019 got here.

i did write 5 poems in the waiting room while mom was getting her injection. i typed those up this afternoon. i think a few of them are really good.

the New York Rangers won last night, 4-2 over Ottawa.

other than the match between Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins last night, Monday Night Raw was awful.

The Voice was really good last night. i have no damn clue who will get voted off tonight.

The Truth About Killer Robots was fascinating last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Smackdown.

the Manchester United game today against Young Boys in the Champions League wasn't on television. thank god. United won on a goal in the 91st minute from Marouane Fellaini. it never should have come to that when playing that team at home. anywho, they are now into the knockout round of the Champions League with a game still to play in group play.

that's pretty much all for me today kids. i have to go out in temps that feel like the single digits and round up some trash.

it had to stop sometime...

the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday to the Rams, 26-20. given the injuries the Saints had on defense going into the game, the result did not surprise me. i wasn't that surprised that the offense struggled for a good portion of the game either. what did surprise me was why the coach waited so long to just let it loose and go. once it looked like he just let Drew Brees do what he wanted, things started to click. oh well, now the fun really begins. they are still tied for first place in the division, with the team they playing next, Carolina.

the New York Rangers started slow once again yesterday, falling behind to Vancouver 2-0 before they scored. the Rangers quickly tied it early in the 3rd, only to give back the lead 40 seconds later. thankfully, they tied the game later in the period to send the game to overtime. nothing got settled in OT, so the game went to a shootout. the Rangers went second for a change and ended up winning in the 7th round of the shootout. that's 8 straight wins at home. they play again tomorrow night at home against Florida.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was fucking hilarious last night. i can't wait for the season finale next week.

Shameless was excellent last night.

SMILF was great as well. it reminded me that i was baptized on April Fool's Day when i was a kid. the irony makes me smile to this day.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Meth Storm. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

mom and i went to Lowe's this afternoon to get my sister some things she'll need as a homeowner for Christmas.

that was basically all the shopping i did today. some of the gifts i ordered before Thanksgiving started arriving. that's good.

i will probably be on here tomorrow sometime before Manchester United plays.

i hope everyone had a lovely Sunday.

instant classic

sports are at their best when the hype of the event gets lived up to. yesterday's game between Ohio State and that team up north certainly is one of the best examples. the game had absolutely everything in it. Ohio State won 30-27 in double overtime. i will certainly remember this victory for a long time. now, Ohio State will have to see what the playoff committee does since Penn State will be playing in the Big 10 Championship game. i can't imagine they will take Ohio State out of the top 4.
hats off to the school up north's coach for showing his true colors after the game. whining about the officials like the true piece of shit he is. hopefully he never beats Ohio State and then runs back to coach in the NFL so he stops being an embarrassment to his school.
i could watch these videos for the rest of the year...

i was absolutely spent after the game. it felt like my heart was pounding through my chest. i feel comfortable knowing that one of these games will kill me one day.

ROH was excellent last night. Final Battle certainly looks very interesting this year.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Westworld, Divorce, Insecure, Shameless and The Affair.

congrats to my old high school on making it to the division 3 state finals in football.

Manchester United takes on West Ham later this morning. i'm really hoping they can get all 3 points today, they certainly need them.

the New Orleans Saints play against the Rams today. they are at home, so i'm hoping the good Saints team shows up today.

the Dayton Flyers play in the 5th place game today out in California against New Mexico. this will certainly be another test for the Flyers shorthanded big men. hopefully they can eek out a victory and have a happy flight home.

later tonight, the New York Rangers take on Ottawa. hopefully they can start another winning streak.

so, if all goes well, i'll be drinking all day long today. the life of a poet.

i will be on here tomorrow after i get back from taking mom to have her first injection done. if all goes well, i should be on here in the afternoon.

i hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

heartbreak city

one of the things i have learned over my 30+ years of being a fanatical sports fan is when you have an incredible high, there is a 100% chance that a horrific low will be coming soon. that pretty much describes my night last night.

Dayton was winning against #18 Baylor by as many as 14 points in the first half. Baylor slowly chipped away and i got the feeling Dayton was playing not to lose instead of playing to win. and sure enough, Baylor wins by 1 when Dayton's shot rims out at the buzzer. talk about a punch to the gut. they play again tonight against California in the 3rd place game. i'm interested to see how they respond to that kind of loss.

my sister arrived last night, beating the shitty weather and traffic. she's doing some baking today. no blowups so far, so i'm hoping that our recent trend of being adults with each other will continue.

a busy sports day ahead for me. Manchester United plays in Germany today in Champions League play. when i read about the plane troubles yesterday, i immediately thought back to the air disaster they had back in 1958. i do not have a good feeling about this game today. hopefully i am wrong.

the New York Rangers play tonight against Florida at the same time the Dayton game will be on. i think basketball will win out for the most part. hopefully the Rangers have a better game than the last turd they had.

the sun is out today but it certainly looks cold as fuck outside. i still need to go out and feed the cats and birds. i'm going to wait until after noon, as it hopefully will be above 25 degrees by then.

i didn't get any of the players i wanted in fantasy football this morning. and given the 3 games tomorrow, this is a crazy week for all of that. i'm hoping for a better week than last week. my chances of making the playoffs depend on it.

i was looking for a good laugh this morning and i believe i found it:

if you are traveling today, be safe. if you are getting an early holiday drink on today, have another one. and if you are not in this country and have no clue what holiday is coming up here... hope you have a great Wednesday. i imagine i will blog sometime tomorrow between doing my laundry and watching some football. i don't participate in the whole family (cousins, uncles, aunts, etc.) shit on Thanksgiving. i really have no desire to spend any time around the woman that molested me. fun times.

be well.

memorial day

i was going to turn this post into some rant about my father but i have decided against it. he's chosen to not speak to me for nearly 20 years so i will respect his ignorance. i'm not going to waste my energy on him any longer. i will simply do the one thing he never could do

BE SUCCESSFUL

a happy memorial day to every man and woman who have served and/or died for this country. i thank you for your service.

i remain hopeful this morning, for what i reason i do not know.

i'm hoping for rain as my crops are dying of thirst.

i'm hoping my friend is ok after our phone call last night. may this be a time where prayer actually works.

a little morning music

Van Morrison - Moondance
Ted Hawkins - The Next Hundred Years

supposed to get in the 90's again today. being a fair skinned fucker, the summer is when the hermit in me rejoices.

i'm hoping the pains in my left leg are simply phantoms. given my history with blood clots, i may be dancing on egg shells for the next few days.

i hope everyone has a great day. if you happen to stumble upon this blog and like it, tell a friend. a fond farewell with a quote from someone it seems like i watched nearly every saturday as i was growing up.
