at least one thing went my way...

 today is the birthday of my dead father. i never have liked this day. probably never will. some scars just run deeper than others i guess.

yesterday was one of those days where hardly fucking anything went my way.

the only thing that did was in the Gold Cup. Canada defeated Costa Rica, 2-0. the USA defeated Jamaica, 1-0. i love what Matthew Hoppe brings to this team. he has a certain "fuck you" to him when he's out there that i wish more of the players had. so, now on July 29th, the USA will play Qatar and Mexico plays Canada. winners will face each other in the final on August 1st.

the Yankees were winning yesterday, 4-0 and Domingo German was throwing a no-hitter. he gave up a double in the 8th inning. no big deal. they pulled him from the game and the bullpen absolutely shit the bed. the Red Sox scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th and won the game, 5-4. i swear, this season can't fucking end fast enough.

the Red Scare forgot to play good defense yesterday and some key players couldn't hit the fucking ocean when they were shooting. they lost to Category 5, 76-69.

Big Brother was good last night. i truly hope Brent gets evicted this week.

The White Lotus was very good last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan was excellent last night.

The Chi was really good last night. season finale is next week.

Black Monday was fucking hilarious last night.

Flatbush Misdemeanors was good last night.

Desus & Mero was really funny last night.

i did get my order from Carnival Baseball today. 10 baseball cards of hall of famers. i was hoping for some older cards, but i can't complain with what i got. the best cards in the two packs were a 1990 Topps Frank Thomas rookie card and a 1990 Topps Ken Griffey Jr.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

it's been trying to rain all day long...

i was happy i managed to get the blog done yesterday without once mentioning yesterday was my dead father's birthday. i hoped as i grew older my contempt for that man would mellow. maybe that day will come before i fucking die.

so the Yankees game tonight in Philadelphia has been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak with the Marlins. they played in Philadelphia yesterday and the Yankees would have been using the same locker room. the rumor this morning was that the whole season was in jeopardy. i wouldn't put it past them at some point to call the whole damn thing off.

i did watch some of both MLS games last night. weather permitting, i'll probably watch some of the games tonight as well.

The Chi was really good last night.

Desus & Mero was hilarious last night.

Perry Mason was excellent last night.

I'll Be Gone in the Dark was very good last night. the series finale is next week.
