the day after...

as many of you know, i am not a big fan of Black Friday. i have tried to be less of a consumer as i have grown older. now, if it some crazy can't miss deal, i might take the bait, but often i will do most of my shopping to support small businesses. to me, at least, that is way more impactful than anything else shopping wise. i hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. mom wanted to do the cooking yesterday, so i let her. i could tell she was very proud of herself that everything tasted good.

i did watch all 3 football games yesterday. didn't make much money, but i did get 2 of the 3 games right. i was surprised the Lions didn't cover. i wasn't surprised when the Bears fired their coach this morning. a blind man could have seen that coming.

Manchester United won yesterday in the Europa League, 3-2, at home over Bodo/Glimt.

The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and the Yacht Rock documentary. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

the New York Rangers play this afternoon in Philadelphia. it would be a good time to end their fucking losing streak.

i will probably watch some of the NFL game today between the Chiefs and Raiders.

and probably some college football as well.

i will probably be on here tomorrow before Ohio State plays at noon.

i hope everyone has a great day. if you are shopping, i hope you get some great deals.

until tomorrow kids...

can't sleep, might as well be productive...

i haven't been able to sleep more than 4 hours a night since my procedure. of course, it's not like i was sleeping so much more before it either. but, last night, i decided i might as well be productive. i finished my Christmas shopping. apparently, between the Amazon gift cards i had and my American Express points, i had enough to cover everything for my mother and sister. that was a welcome surprise at 2:45 in the morning.

i put out our simple outside Christmas decorations this morning when i went to get the paper. wreaths around the 3 lights and a Christmas flag. good enough.

Manchester United lost in the Europa League yesterday, 2-1. considering it was the youngest Manchester United side ever, i'm not going to go apeshit over it. but, this also means they need to win their final match in group play if they actually want to win the group now.

the New Orleans Saints defeated Atlanta last night, 26-18. they clinched the NFC South for the 3rd straight season. they still have plenty to play for though. they control their own destiny if they want the number 1 seed in the playoffs.

i did watch the other football games and some college basketball yesterday.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and the season finale of Room 104. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i did listen to the latest episode of Notsam Wrestling yesterday. you can find that by going here:

the New York Rangers play this afternoon in Boston. i'd love to see them extend their winning streak somehow today.

i will need to go to the local grocery store at some point today. i have 1 slice of bread left.

i will be on here tomorrow before Ohio State takes on that team from up north.

if you are going out shopping today, have some patience and enjoy the traffic.

i hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

until tomorrow kids...

crying yourself to sleep

i made the mistake last night of deciding to watch part 2 of The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling before i went to sleep. by the time part 2 was over, i was weeping. easily one of the best documentaries i have seen in years. now, it's a bit long, but if you're a fan of comedy, i highly recommend checking all 4 1/2 hours out.

The Voice last night was pretty good.

the season finale of Baskets was hilarious last night.

the season finale of Hate Thy Neighbor was excellent last night. after watching it, i guess i'll be living in Montana at some point in my life.

The Chris Gethard Show last night was fucking crazy.

The Jim Jefferies Show last night was great.

Smackdown last night was excellent. i love that Daniel Bryan will be wrestling at WrestleMania.

205 Live last night was really good.

team USA men's national team defeated Paraguay last night 1-0. it was a way more physical soccer friendly than i was expecting. i'm not sure how Paraguay escaped a couple red cards last night. i did love that the USA made sure some of the kids played and are now tied to the USA. that will come in handy with the massive rebuild needed after missing the upcoming World Cup. of course, the interim coach could have played more of the kids last night. i'm not sure why he didn't use all 6 of his subs last night.

i got to sleep this morning sometime around 6. i woke up around 11. one thing about crying yourself to sleep, it does at least put you out for more than a few hours.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Washington.

the New York Yankees season will start tomorrow in Toronto. hopefully i will be back home in time for the game.

mom wants to go to the grocery store tomorrow. she wants to get stuff to make for Easter. i'll be going to get liquor.

i will probably be on here tomorrow either really early (not likely) or after the baseball game is over.

i'm a little cranky today. i dropped mom off to get her taxes done. i went back home and typed up the 14 poems i wrote yesterday. right as i was finishing up the last poem and putting everything away, mom called to have me come get her. the place is only 5 minutes away. so, there i was sitting in parking lot for over 20 minutes before she came out. i truly can't fucking stand wasting my time. it's one of the few things i actually have. of course, she had a few excuses about how the cities fucked something up and her old employer didn't send everything she needed for her taxes, which i don't doubt either. i just don't understand why she couldn't have called me when everything was signed and being sent. remember, it's just 5 minutes away from the house. with what little patience i have left, i can't imagine how often i will have to bite my tongue before i fucking explode one of these days.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

yet another rainy day; hello pain, it's me again...

i think i might have got 4 hours of sleep right on the nose when i woke up this morning to take a shower. we got to the car dealership before our appointment time. i'm a bit of an asshole about being late. i fucking hate it. mom wasn't feeling well, so she just had them fix the license plate and she would reschedule the oil change, etc. about 45 minutes later, we were leaving. it's been raining the whole damn day long. mom wanted McDonald's for breakfast, so i got some of that on the way home. and before we knew it, it was time to go south of town for her physical therapy session.

mom has been able to get around more and more without her cane. she's really making some progress. i'm trying not to be too worrisome and end up holding her back in any regard. but, i do get a little nervous when she gets a bit wobbly. the last thing i want to see is her fall again and have to get another hip replacement.

while she was in physical therapy, i wrote 14 poems. that gives me 44 for the month, i do believe. i'll type these up tonight while i've got the television on in the background.

after her physical therapy, we went to a late lunch. i might have actually enjoyed it more if i wasn't in so much pain from the fucking rain. i joked with my mother that if i ever start making real money, i could actually afford the good shit that would take the pain away. she laughed and said the shit that will end up killing you. i laughed and said like i haven't already had those dreams.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

The Voice was pretty good last night as well.

the New York Rangers lost last night to Washington 4-2. they play at Washington tomorrow night.

the New York Yankees won last night at Atlanta 5-1. i did get to see the mammoth home run Stanton hit. i have a feeling this is going to be a fun season.

The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling was excellent last night. i can't wait to see part 2 tonight. Garry was a big comedic influence on my sense of humor, especially when i was growing up.

team USA men's national team plays a soccer friendly tonight at home against Parguay. i'm hoping a bunch of the kids get to play and i'd love to see them play well enough to win. i won't be holding my breath though.

i don't know when i'll be on here tomorrow. i know i have to take mom to get her taxes done in the afternoon.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

every once in a while you get to see something magical...

i was really looking forward to the match last night between the Golden Lovers vs. The Young Bucks at NJPW Strong Style Evolved. between the storytelling, the moves, the crazy ass spots... it certainly did not disappoint. the match was definitely an instant classic. the broadcast went better than what they did live last year. and i think the venue looked better on television as well. thankfully i was paying attention last night and was able to record the 20 minutes it went over past midnight. a few of the matches last night weren't that memorable, but the ones that were were fucking excellent.

the game yesterday between Duke and Kansas was as good as i thought it was going to be. i was pretty happy that Duke lost. i ended up 33-30 in this tournament. that's 1 game worse than i was last year. that's not bad considering i really didn't watch much college basketball this season, mostly because of the shitty taste that watching Dayton left in my mouth all season long.

Our Cartoon President was fucking hilarious last night.

Homeland was really good last night.

Billions was excellent last night. season 3 looks like it is going to be really good.

Here and Now was an excellent mindfuck last night. i love this show.

Barry was fucking great last night.

Silicon Valley was very funny last night.

i watched all the Sunday nights shows after wrestling last night. i think i got to bed sometime before 5 in the morning. i'm currently running on about 4 hours of sleep. joy.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Washington. the Rangers called up their two first round picks for the rest of the season. hopefully the coach will really give them a chance to show what they can do.

the New York Yankees play tonight against Atlanta. 3 days until the season begins. of course, the injury bug has already popped up. fuck.

i've got to be up early tomorrow morning to take the car in to get the license plate fixed. i think mom wants them to change the oil as well. and considering the vehicle has over 225,000 miles on it, i'm sure something else will need to be fixed/replaced as well.

if that all gets done in the morning, i'm going to try to get the blog done before i take mom to her physical therapy in the afternoon. if that doesn't go as smoothly as i hope, then i'll be on here after a late lunch after mom's physical therapy session.

what i'm really hoping for is another blast of poems tomorrow. i think i have written 30 this month. i'd love to throw another high number on top of that before the month is over.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i think i'm going to go take a nap.

here we go again

i just got the news that Garry Shandling has died. i never like it when the people that have made you laugh pass on. and i mean really laugh. The Larry Sanders Show was years ahead of its time. that show made me laugh so damn hard at times... rest in peace Garry, you've earned it.
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/25/arts/television/garry-shandling-dies.html?_r=0

the rain that i have been feeling in my bones for the last 24 hours or so finally arrived this afternoon. throw in some winds gusting to 40 or 50 m.p.h. and you can imagine the afternoon here. good times.

for shits and giggles, i started up a Soundcloud account today. i figure at some point i might start posting audio of my poems or rants or whatever. so, if any of you are on it, please add me. and if you want to check out my page, you can find it here: https://soundcloud.com/j-j-campbell

Lucha Underground was truly fucking amazing last night. Aztec Warfare II will probably stay on my DVR for years. it truly was an incredible hour that had holy shit moment after holy shit moment.

NXT was really good last night as well. Finn Balor vs. Rich Swann was really good. and the main event between Emma and Asuka was good as well.

the New York Rangers got some puck luck last night and caught a slumping Boston team at the right time. the Rangers won 5-2. that was a tasty victory beer after that one. the Rangers are off to the weekend where they play both days.

enjoy some music kids:

now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be WWE Smackdown and the season finale of Baskets.

the NCAA tournament starts back up tonight so i'll probably be flipping between some college basketball games most of the evening.

i think my sister is coming down tomorrow night for the weekend. hopefully i start to feel better by then.

it feels like i have been on this damn computer all day long.

i might do a little poetry work this weekend and get a few submissions ready for either late March or early April.

i also know that mom and i need to go shopping as she wants to get stuff for Easter and i am running low on birdseed. good times. at least the fucking rain should be out of here by tonight. hopefully.

that's all for me kids.
