i finally wrote some new poems...

 i squeezed enough water out of the rock last night to get three really good poems. i'm hoping that is a sign of good things to come.

Big Brother was good last night. Kirsten was evicted 13-0. i believe Hisam is the new HOH.

What We Do in the Shadows was fucking hilarious last night.

NJPW was excellent last night.

i did catch some of the Women's World Cup last night.

i did watch some of the Premier League today. Manchester United doesn't play until Monday.

i did make it to Rite Aid today to pick up another prescription.

 so, i got up this morning to watch the USWNT take on Sweden. wouldn't it figure, the women play their best game of the tournament by a fucking mile and lose on penalty kicks, 5-4. honestly, Sweden's goalie was amazing during the 0-0 120 minutes. what pissed me off the most was the USA missed 3 penalty kicks. and not miss because the goalie made a save, i mean miss because you either missed the fucking net completely or put it off the post trying to be too cute. so fucking frustrating to watch. and the true punch to the dick was the winning kick for Sweden went over the line by maybe a fucking millimeter. 

the Yankees won yesterday at home over Houston, 3-1. hopefully, they will win the series this afternoon.

WWE SummerSlam was excellent last night.

waking up to craziness...

when any World Cup is in a time zone that is difficult to watch the games live, i do know there is a good chance i will wake up to craziness. but,  this year's Women's World Cup has been especially crazier than ever. i was shocked when i looked at the score today and saw that Germany only got a draw with South Korea which meant that Germany, for the first time ever, wasn't going to make it out of the group stage at a Women's World Cup. in some ways, i am happy with this though, as i would like to believe that more countries are now investing in women's sports which also could mean they become something other than second class citizens in those countries. and honestly, that could be the best thing for this world yet.

the Yankees won last night at home against Tampa Bay, 7-2. they start a series tonight at home against Houston.

AEW Dynamite was excellent last night.

 my back pain is pretty constant anymore and the only thing that helps is ice. so, this heatwave isn't exactly a good thing, at least for me. i know plenty of people that love this shit. i'm not one of them. and given how the humidity messes with my mother's Meniere's Disease, it gives me a whole new set of worries. joy.

the Yankees won last night against the Mets, 3-1. they are off tonight and start a series tomorrow at Baltimore. i think The Captain might actually be back for that.

the USWNT had a 1-1 draw with the Netherlands last night. well, i guess it was better than a loss. they next play Portugal in the final group game.

Manchester United lost 2-0 last night to Real Madrid in Houston.

the Red Scare lost last night in the TBT in a pretty big upset.

it was fun to look back at Big Brother last night. hard to believe season 25 starts next week.

i believe i was in the ice cream aisle...

 when i got the alert (maybe 30 of them total) that Sinead O'Connor was dead. a flood of memories hit me. i remember when i first saw her video for Nothing Compares 2 U and immediately thought of my girlfriend at the time, whom i am still friends with to this day. growing up an artsy kid who kind of hid that part of his life at times because of the love of sports, etc., Sinead's music always had a place in my soul. this news today really hit me much harder than i thought it would. may you finally be at peace.

Manchester United U-21 team lost to Wrexham last night, 3-1. i feel really bad for Paul Mullin. he got a punctured lung last night from a boneheaded challenge from United's goalie. United's first team plays tonight in Houston against Real Madrid.

the Yankees lost to the Mets last night, 9-3. i doubt i watch much of the game tonight.

Dark Side of the Ring was about Bam Bam Bigelow last night. he was one of my all-time favorites.

nothing like finishing the dishes at 4 in the morning

 it was a late one last night/this morning. i was up watching the Women's World Cup, as was my mother. i knew i needed to get the dishes done. when mom decides she wants to cook, she dirties up as many dishes and pots and pans as possible it seems. i'm a little more simple when i cook. one or two skillets and away we go. i got all the dishes done by 4 in the morning. i was dead tired and there was mom playing some game on her iPad. i laughed and asked her what she wanted for brunch in the morning as i knew there was zero chance she would be up before noon. i was asleep by 5 AM and up again at 9:20 this morning. joy.

i did make it to Rite Aid today to pick up the prescription i knew was ready and one that i had no clue was being refilled. at least there was no cost for either.

the start of a hot and humid week...

 this week will be nothing but hot and humid weather. not the greatest of times for us fat people. i could take 10 showers this week and still feel everything sticking to me. i like to think if there is a hell, this would be the closest version of it. i was out in it a little today as i had to return some things for mom. thankfully, it didn't take that long.

at least i got a few hours of sleep...

 so, i was up last night watching the Women's World Cup between washing the dishes and texting the spanish princess. was one of the few nights here lately where i wasn't swimming in a sea of pain. i wish i could say the same for today.

i made breakfast this morning and of course, my arthritis had to be raging. and then my bad back decided it wanted some attention while i was making some eggs. it never fails. if i get more than a few hours where i feel pain free i'm going to pay for it and feel like i'm crippled. these are the days where i wish i could get so fucking high that i would get worried about ever coming back down.

the New York Yankees won yesterday at home against the Royals, 5-2. they are currently up in today's game, 4-0. hopefully, they will get the sweep.

Manchester United defeated Arsenal yesterday, 2-0. Arsenal's coach wanted them to do penalty shots after the game, just so his players could get used to being in front of a large crowd doing that. United won that as well, 5-3.

the fun of not sleeping...

 for some fucking reason last night, i couldn't fall asleep. now, this happens sometimes when i am writing and my brain just gets going and never stops. last night wasn't one of those nights. sometimes the alcohol gets me going. not one of those either. anyways, i didn't fall asleep until almost 5 AM. i woke up a little before 10 and my mother was already awake. and the problem with that is, i know i am already hours behind. joy.
