the sun still exists...

once the fog burned off this morning, the sun actually was there. shocking after the last few days. it warmed up nicely today, enough that i opened the windows. plus, i was doing my laundry, so some fresh air was certainly needed. my last load just went in.

i heard back from Presa Press on my poetry submission from last week. they don't publish the magazine anymore, only a few books each year. whoops. i guess i should have checked that out before i sent them some poems. but, they did send back what i sent. so i have 5 poems to send somewhere else now. oh well, just another magazine i never got in.

the Yankees lost last night 6-1. i found it amusing that they FINALLY got tired of getting hit by pitches from Tampa pitchers. of course, this being the 2014 Yankees, they respond by almost hitting an opponent. this team has lacked a soul since 2001. when that group of guys moved on, they took all the fight this team had with them. i doubt any of this will carry over to the game tonight. of course, if the team i have loved for 32 years is still embarrassed by this season, it just might.

it was very nice to watch Frankie get evicted last night on Big Brother. hopefully that asshole won't win America's Favorite Player either. there's another eviction tonight. this game is basically Derrick's to win now.

i'm also looking forward to watching The Bridge tonight. it looks like another great episode.

watched a little Champions League today while doing my laundry. i got a good laugh at Bayern Munich beating Manchester City 1-0 at the death. that will bring me a smile for the rest of the evening.

one good thing about starting off horribly in fantasy football, you usually get first pick of the players you want to pick up off of the waiver wire. so, i have rebuilt both of my teams given all of my injuries for this week. hopefully the guys i picked work out for me. one thing i don't like about this Sunday, i'm going up against two great quarterbacks. that's usually a bad sign of things to come. plus, since i will be traveling to watch a hockey game in Columbus for the evening, i won't get to watch much of the games. hopefully i have nothing happen in the next few days and i can just set my roster and check back late Sunday night to see what happened. and quite frankly, i'm more worried about how the hell i'm going to watch all my Sunday night shows more than my fantasy football teams.

that's pretty much all for me today. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

busy doing nothing

since some people that tell me they love me think i'm just bullshitting myself with this poetry thing, i wanted to pass on the news that i sent out 30 poems today. 5 each to Carcinogenic Poetry, 5 AM, and Presa Magazine; 3 each to Napalm and Novocain, Pyrokinection, Dead Snakes, The Camel Saloon, and Fuck Art, Let's Dance. when i hear back from these places, i'll pass along the verdicts here on the blog.

i talked to my sister today. she's been really getting into this ancestry.com shit. i humored her and my mother and did that DNA kit for them. i'm not really interested with the results unless it's something other than what i've been told all my life. i believe i am part Irish, Scottish, and German. if it comes back different than that, i might be mildly amused. my sister on the other hand is tracing shit back to the middle ages. good for her. i don't really want to know about the long line of assholes and alcoholics we came from.

made my football picks today and juggled both of my fantasy football teams a little. as usual, i have some injury concerns and i'm trying to take advantage of players being let go way too early by owners. that's usually how you win a championship.

the Yankees lost last night 4-3. i might have watched a few innings but that was it. i doubt i watch that much tonight.

we're under a tornado watch for tonight. that should make things interesting as there is a line of fuck you storms supposed to come through the area tonight. i hate night storms. they tend to come out of fucking nowhere.

Big Brother last night was pretty good. i did find myself laughing a few times. i can't wait to see the looks on their faces tonight when they realize the last week of the show has to be played again, all in one night. and hopefully, fucking Frankie gets evicted tonight. please.

i also watched Inside the NFL last night. it certainly isn't the show i grew up watching.

i'm really looking forward to The Bridge tonight. hopefully the storms stay away until i've seen the episode.

that's really all for me today. i've got some podcasts to go listen to and a weather radar to go watch. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

a part of me hopes it ends tonight

as you could probably tell by the 2 new YouTube videos, i had a quick outburst of creativity yesterday. and, i got to fuck around with the windows live movie maker and i'm pretty happy with the results.

the Yankees last night got a rare badly pitched game from Kuroda and lost 6-3. of course, they got the normal injury scare with Kuroda as well, but it looks like he won't miss any time. i've never seen a team get so many fucking injuries in my life. it's past the point of unreal.

the Yankees are off tonight, which means most of my attention will be on the New York Rangers and their let's see if they really give a shit or not game 4 this evening. i might be watching this with one eye closed. there's part of me that hopes they lose tonight so the agony can finally be done with. the other part of me wants them to win just so they won't be swept by a team from Boston. i want to believe they can at least win 1 game in the series. i want to, just don't know if i can.

for those interested, the dirty toilet in my video "stink" has been cleaned.

been a real rainy, dreary day here on the farm. hardly any sunshine at all. and speaking of depressing, i heard back from Presa on my poetry submission from 3/22. they decided to pass. oh well, looks like i've got 5 "new" poems to throw in the mix again.

i did watch a good portion of the Miami Heat game last night. how the fuck you can give LeBron a layup in the closing seconds of overtime is beyond me. i would be rooting for the Pacers if they didn't have David West on their team. there's one guy i wouldn't mind seeing no longer existing on the face of the earth. i haven't liked him since college. he was a prick then and still is now. just richer.

if the Rangers lose tonight, i guess i'll be shaving off the playoff beard and taking a long, long, long shower. i've mentally prepared myself all day long for the possibility of it happening. fuck me.

a big thank you to Frontier Communications for their usually shitty job with my high speed internet. i guess it going out for 40 minutes is no big deal.

until tomorrow, hopefully...

oh well, bracket busted and some poetry news

well, since New Mexico lost to Harvard and blew up my main bracket, i figured i might as well post tonight since i will have no chance to do so in the morning.

if all goes as planned, i will be mailing poems out in the morning to ZYX and Presa Magazine. when i hear back from these places, i will post the responses here on the blog.

i was totally disappointed with the New York Rangers 3-1 loss tonight. not sure if it was just running into a goalie standing on his head or if it was a bunch of guys who thought they were going to win and didn't need to pay the price to win. either way, if they happen to miss the playoffs, this will be the game they can look back on and say what could have been.

that is all. if i have any energy left by tomorrow night, i will try to post my experiences at the 4 games tomorrow. knowing how Ohio State fans act, i'm sure i will have something to talk about.
