happy indigenous peoples day

i never bought into the bullshit i was taught about Columbus when i was a child. if more people actually knew the truth, they would never celebrate Columbus Day. but, most of society is fine with their ignorance. it truly is a fucking shame.

the New York Yankees lost to Houston last night, 3-2 in 11 innings. oh well, they got the split down there. now, just win the 3 home games in in the Bronx starting tomorrow night... please.

the New Orleans Saints defeated Jacksonville yesterday, 13-6. the Saints defense was fucking awesome yesterday.

the season finale of Succession was fucking great last night.

the season finale of The Righteous Gemstones was very funny last night.

the series finale of Ballers was good last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant as usual.

Batwoman was good last night.

Power was fucking crazy last night. i guess everyone is going to fucking die in the final season.

The Affair was excellent last night.

On Becoming A God in Central Florida was good last night. the season finale is next week.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, The Deuce and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did listen to the latest episodes of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find those by going here:

i did have to run to the store today to get some stuff for mom. she got in a good amount of sleep yesterday, so she's feeling a little better.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i will probably be on here tomorrow before the Yankees play in the afternoon.

until tomorrow kids...

i should have known as soon as i saw Gus Johnson was calling the game...

i remember years ago, Bill Simmons wrote an article where he said if you wanted to be entertained by a football game, watch any game Gus Johnson was calling. i think that was over a decade ago. sadly, it's still true. so, when i turned on the Ohio State game yesterday and saw that Gus was doing play by play, i knew what to expect. the game was incredibly tight until about the fourth quarter. Ohio State eventually defeated Minnesota, 30-14. most of the game was much, much tighter than the final score.

the New York Rangers lost to Edmonton yesterday 2-1. yet another shitty game from the officials. oh well.

Austin City Limits was really good last night. i could listen to John Prine for hours and hours.

Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night.

ROH was good last night.

i did write 5 poems last night. they are pretty dark and good. that gives me 9 for the month. i need to write some more and get another round of submissions ready to go soon.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Deuce, Camping, Last Week Tonight, America to Me, Shameless and Kidding.

i might actually try to catch up on some sleep today.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. mom has a doctor's appointment and then right after that i have my physical therapy appointment.

my back is doing much better. the stretches and exercises the therapist showed me have really helped.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

not exactly how i wanted to start the weekend...

i was up at 6 this morning. i wanted to make sure i was ready for the Manchester United game. it was pretty clear from the beginning that Liverpool was the better side today. i think United had 1 shot on goal for the entire fucking game. that being said, if you're going to park the bus, you have to get the point for the draw. and thanks to the best goalkeeper in the world, David De Gea, United was able to get that point. United plays again on Wednesday in the Champions League.

the New York Yankees lost last night 2-1 in Game 1 of the ALCS. at least i get to watch them play again now. that will happen this afternoon when Game 2 starts. i'm hoping the Yankees can win today since games 3, 4 and 5 are in Yankee Stadium. the Yankees have the best home record in the majors this season.

i flipped on the New York Rangers game last night right as Columbus scored to take the lead. great fucking timing. the Rangers lost 3-1. hopefully they erase that from their system quickly as they play New Jersey at home tonight.

thankfully, the high school i went to won their football game last night, so i could do a little drinking while i was writing last night.

i wrote 6 poems last night. i typed them up last night as well. i really like this batch. i'm going to try to get a submission out early next week i think.

the season finale of VICE last night was excellent.

the season finale of Room 104 was really good last night.

Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.

i did get some great FREE music last night on NoiseTrade. here is the link to that:

i'll be on here tomorrow before the New Orleans Saints play Detroit.

genetics wins again

well, i guess my gut doesn't have shit for brains after all. if you remember, a couple days ago i said i had a feeling my doctor's appointment today was going to be more than just a check up. i got there on time and had to wait nearly 30 minutes in the waiting room. i hadn't seen the woman that took me back to the room before. there's something about the sound of high heels anymore that gets my imagination racing. she pricked my finger to get my A1C. about 10 minutes later the doctor came in and said, hey, guess what? the first thought that came to mind was oh shit. he said well, you've got type 2 diabetes. he changed my one prescription to make it twice as much as what i had been taking. that also makes it twice as much as what my mother takes for type 2 diabetes. he also said my arthritis getting worse is probably tied to the diabetes. and i need to let my eye doctor know so they can look at the results a little closer. about 10 minutes later i got a flu shot and a cup to piss in. the doctor said i could just bring it back in next week sometime. great. genetics wins again. my mother blessed with me type 2 diabetes and my father gave me mental illness and alcoholism. what more can a boy ask for? i'm really not sure how much my life is really going to change. my back is bad enough that exercise is hard enough that i'd rather die. so, i guess the goal is now not get so bad that i need insulin. but, i'm pretty sure, i have now seen a glimpse of what running down the mountain is going to be like. it's like a recent poem of mine... some wait for death, i'd rather make it a sprint.

the New York Rangers won last night 5-3 over the Islanders. other than pissing away the lead less than 5 minutes into the 3rd period, i was thrilled with how the Rangers played last night. 39 shots on goal. holy shit, a team that actually wants to shoot the puck. that will be a welcome sight this season.

Fuck, That's Delicious was excellent last night.

Better Things was very funny last night.

Vice News Tonight was great again last night. trust me, it's way better than any nightly news show you are currently watching.

i didn't watch much of the football game last night. i'm happy i had the kicker for San Diego though. i actually have a 13 point lead to start off this week for one of my fantasy teams.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW and High Maintenance.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast last night. if you are a fan or would like to know more about Lucha Underground, i highly encourage you to listen to this one. you can find it by going here: http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2016/10/13/wrestling-podcast-103-lucha-underground-panel

i will probably do some writing later on tonight. i have one poem swimming in my head for sure, fucking high heels.

i'll most likely be on here in the morning tomorrow. most of what i want to see tomorrow isn't until the evening.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i certainly hope it will be better than mine.

a bloody affair

i went this morning to get my lab work done. 4 vials of blood and a cup of piss later and i was good to go. mom only had to get 1 vial of blood drawn. i think she wanted to do that so the doctor would have the results for her next appointment. or something like that. it's hard enough keeping up with my own medical shit.

i wrote 2 more poems last night. so i now have 6 poems to type up. i believe that will happen probably later tonight.

the New York Rangers scored first last night and then completely forgot that they had to play 60 minutes of hockey to win. Winnipeg scored the next 4 to win 4-1. a guy on my fantasy team scored 2 of those goals. the Rangers next play in Montreal for their home opener. that will be the Rangers fourth home opener of the season. the price of being a good team i suppose.

the soccer friendly between Costa Rica and the USA last night (1-0 loss) was a joke. Costa Rica probably should have won by 5 or 6 goals. the USA did not show up at all. that's 3 straight losses at home. first time that has happened since 1997. and some people still think there doesn't need to be a change. fucking idiots.

The Muppets was excellent last night. Scream Queens was excellent once again. and The Voice had one battle that i really enjoyed:

enjoy some more music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be American Horror Story: Hotel and You're The Worst. i'll be watching NXT on the WWE Network tonight. and they usually have some other good shit on Wednesday nights on there as well.

i suppose i should be watching the baseball games but i really couldn't give a shit. though, i do know a good number of Cubs fans, so i am happy for them.

i do believe the antibiotic is working for my eye. it's much less gross than it has been.

i have to get my laundry done tomorrow. so i imagine i will fit the blog in somewhere between folding and bitching about my back hurting.

i hope everyone is doing good. i've been on a bit of a Tori Amos kick here lately, so you'll understand when you see the music below.

a fresh slice of hell...

we've been battered with storms more or less for the last 12 hours. mostly just high winds but no damage that i can tell. the rain has been killing my back though. the last line moved through here about 30 minutes ago. i'm hoping it will be out of the area when we drive to Columbus in 45 minutes or so.

i'm not looking forward to the drive given the wind. now, if we don't come across too many 18 wheelers, it should be fine. but i know how this state is. construction areas, sleepy truck drivers, accidents. my fingers are fucking crossed.

the guy who farms out here did take off some of the corn before the storms hit. i'm guessing he needed some to fill up a truck. but, the harvest season has begun.

i did watch most of Gotham last night. excellent as usual. Monday Night Raw could have been so much better. i'm blaming it on lazy fucking writers. i caught most of The Voice on YouTube. i thought a couple of the battles were good but nothing blew me away. i'm going to miss the show tonight, so i'll be relying on YouTube again. The Big Bang Theory was pretty good last night. i caught that on YouTube after i watched the new episode of Video Game High School. one of my guilty pleasures on YouTube where i allow my inner geek to have some fun.

the Rangers play the Islanders tonight in a game where i would love to see the Rangers defense look much better than the last 2 games. i'll follow the game up in Columbus at the Blue Jackets game. thankfully, our seats on the club level aren't that far from the scoreboard for out of town results.

i'm hoping the game tonight is entertaining. maybe some goals, maybe some fights. maybe not as long a line in the restroom, etc. etc.

i won both of my fantasy football matches last night. now, i need to pull off some waiver wire magic as i have another bye week that's going to take out some of my good players.

i need to get in the shower so i'm going to cut this short. if anything interesting happens tonight, i might be on here later. if not, i'll do a nice long recap tomorrow. especially if i'm eating at Waffle House or Steak 'n Shake at 11 pm or later once again.

hope everyone is doing good. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

time for some basketball

these next 2 days are going to be a blitz for me. even less sleep than i normally don't get, people from all over the country, 4 games in 48 hours, and hopefully, some stress free entertainment.

the First Four starts tonight at the UD Arena. i believe you can catch it on TruTV if you are interested. first up will be Albany vs. Mt. St. Mary's, two 16 seeds. after that, it will be North Carolina St. vs. Xavier. now, i have hated Xavier since i was a child. so, it will be some fun booing those fuckers once again. and hopefully, i'll get to see them lose once more on that court.

what i'll be missing on television tonight will be the next installment of the battle rounds on The Voice. i did catch a good portion of them last night. i really don't have any qualms with the decisions made. i suppose i'll catch most of tonight's episode on YouTube when i get home.

also, the New York Rangers play up in Ottawa tonight. i figure since i won't be watching, they'll probably win. at the worst, i'm really hoping they start scoring some fucking goals.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i laughed when HHH added himself to the main event at Wrestlemania. that is, if he beats Daniel Bryan. honestly, if that does happen, i will probably turn off the ppv and go watch HBO or something. the more i watch the show the more i see why CM Punk left. they never push the right ones and i think really enjoy stuffing the same people down our throats. that being said, i could use more Bray Wyatt on my screen. also, the turn of The Shield to babyfaces has been interesting. of course, the writing team will probably fuck that up.

i did catch a little of the Yankees today. had a runner on 3rd base with no outs and couldn't get him in. they are in mid-season form already.

just about have all the cats named now. still trying to decide on the last one. it has to be something i remember, especially since this cat has a tendency to hide as much as possible.

if i am not dead tired by the time i get home tonight, i might try to get some writing done. i've got a few words swimming around in my head.

was up late last night playing around on iTunes. it amazes me the amount of music i remember from my teens. i didn't buy any of it last night though. i wasn't in that kind of mood. when you see what i did buy, you'll know exactly what kind of mood i was in.

hope everyone is well. i'll try to be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays. i have a feeling i won't want to be on here after the game.

peace and chicken grease bitches... if you happen to be going to the games tonight or tomorrow, get in touch with me.

what to do on a holiday Monday

i'm sure there was plenty of productive things i could or should have done today... but i spent a good portion of it watching afternoon hockey and the rest looking at porn. that might not sound productive to normal people, but no normal people should actually be reading this blog. so the creative junkies understand where i'm coming from.

my uncle is in surgery today. not sure what for or how it is going. we've never been really close, probably due to one of his daughters molesting me as a child. but i do hope everything goes well.

had a pretty good Sunday in fantasy football. i'm leading both of my matches going into tonight. and those leads should only get larger after tonight's game. plus, if the Colts win, i will be 11-4 on the week. not too bad.

the Sunday night shows were pretty good. Boardwalk Empire made me think about the previous seasons as a few characters from last season showed up. i really enjoyed that. Eastbound and Down was fucking hilarious as always. Hello Ladies has lost me for good. as much as i want to like the show, it doesn't give me a reason to. so that half hour is back to sports. Homeland was really good. would love to know how Brody ended up in Caracas, but, i remembered, it's Homeland, logic is not supposed to play any role. Masters of Sex was much better this week. i think it's funny that the same behind the scenes bullshit in hospitals back then still goes on today. and we wonder why the same bullshit keeps repeating itself.

the usual hectic night of television viewing awaits. The Voice and Monday Night Raw on at the same time. let alone some baseball and hockey i should be watching. plus the football game that i have fantasy players on both teams starting for my teams. i'll probably keep a closer eye on The Voice as the battle rounds start tonight.

the weather has been pretty damn spectacular here today. sunshine, a light breeze, nearly 70 degrees out. as close to perfection as it gets out here. hopefully the rain holds off until the corn comes off this week. then it can rain all it wants.

i caught that Jay Z documentary on Showtime over the weekend. i enjoyed it. watching Tyler the Creator talk to Ron Howard was mind blowing. as often as i just shake my head at the clowns of this current generation, i equally am amazed by how bold and unrelenting they can be as well. and the creativity of the digital age is really amazing. especially to a guy who can remember when lite brite was the coolest shit around and no one would ever want to have a phone in their pocket, let alone on their wrist.

so as i'm slowly being dragged by my knuckles into this era, i tip my hat to the much, much younger fuckers runnin' this shit.

that's all for today. hope everyone has a good week ahead for them. i probably need to get the pen out and start writing some more. i'm sure these cool nights can produce a few gems.

good morning depression

when a stunning Yankee bottom of the 9th comeback becomes watching the captain carried off the field with a fractured ankle, say hello to my old friend depression. the swings of emotion last night were gut wrenching. i live and die with this shit. it should not come to a surprise to anyone when i'm dead in my mid 50's.

not really in the mood for sports today but it's Sunday. i've already picked up the trash and i have no desire at all to clean old antiques. so football it is. i have no confidence in my fantasy teams today. i have shitty choices all over the place.

keep in mind that my personal mantra since i was 5 has been aim low and accept when you outdo your own negativity. it's worked out ok so far in my life. i think it would probably take a lobotomy for me to have a positive view of life.

i imagine i will flip over to the Yankees sometime in my football viewing to see how bad it is. i haven't watched a Yankee playoff game without Derek Jeter since i was very young. early 1980's young. fuck i feel old at the moment.

all the crops are off as of last night. but, of course, the wind today is out of the south and blowing all the shit from the harvested fields up to the house. i may just be a power outage away from deciding it's time for the madness to take over.

fingers crossed.

the end of the month already

i never wanted to believe them when i was a child. but, time does really fucking fly as you get older.

not much on the plate today. a few household chores, feed the animals and get working on some poems to send out in June. got a few places in mind. and, i'm still waiting to hear back from about a dozen places. hopefully the creative streak can continue.

hoping it does rain as the forecast calls for tonight. we're 2 inches below where we need to be at this point. and i doubt there's much chance of catching up as the summer quickly approaches. but every little drop helps.

back to the old reliables for music today. these songs and i have started many creative fires over the years.

Cocorosie - The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn
TV on the Radio - Nine Types of Light
