 well, i was getting ready to write this blog about 30 minutes ago and the news hit about a trade for the Yankees. i started scrambling trying to find the details... and i am very happy.

the series finale for What We Do in the Shadows last night was fucking perfect.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Nashville. i'm hoping they will find a way to win, but i'm not counting on it.

i guess Orkin is coming here in the morning and they are actually going to finally, get in the attic and see if there has been any damages. if there hasn't, i would love for them to fix the fucking hole the squirrels or racoons did and take the fucking traps away. nothing says Christmas cheer like a fucking trap hanging from the fucking soffit. 

i should be on here in the afternoon after i get the grocery shopping done.

saw some snow today...

 we had some snow squalls come through today. that really made it feel like holy shit, Christmas is a week away. amazingly, our contractor came out yesterday and got our dishwasher working. he finally found the part that would work with our water system. both mom and i were shocked that he was here on a Sunday. mom got the quietest dishwasher around and it is. i used it today and it will take some getting used to, but it should greatly improve how much time i have to spend doing the dishes with my bad back. so, most of yesterday and today has been putting stuff back into the kitchen. that hasn't done any favors for my bad back. neither did racing to the toilet this morning. that was fun. so, i had some more laundry to do today. thankfully, it is all done now. as for the kitchen, i am hoping the vent hood will get here before Christmas. it would be nice to have all this done and we can get back to the normal dysfunction that i am used to.

in some good news, i got the results from my stool sample. drum roll please.... negative. i was hoping for that as i don't want to be dealing with colon cancer right now. i know i will most likely have that mountain to climb in the future.

ok, let me get this shit show on the road...

Manchester United and Liverpool played a 0-0 draw yesterday. i laughed at how many of the Liverpool players were complaining that United didn't play to win the game. given the injuries, suspensions, illness, etc., that was the only way United could play and expect anything from the game. and honestly, i didn't think they had it in them. so, now that should become the standard. and maybe you'll find someone in January that can actually fucking score.

the New Orleans Saints won yesterday at home over the New York Giants, 24-6.

i did see a few NFL games yesterday.

what a crazy start to the weekend...

 so, i was up early this morning and got myself to the dealership about 10 minutes before my appointment. 90 fucking minutes later, the new tire was put on the Highlander. at least that bullshit is over with. after that, i went to Big Lots. mom wanted me to look for some slippers for her and i was looking for some baseball cards. i got 3 packs of 2022 Topps Series 2. didn't find any slippers for her. after that, i had to go to Kroger to pick up a prescription for my mother. thankfully, i got there before they took their lunch break. when i got back to the Highlander, i noticed that Croatia and Brazil was going to penalty kicks. i started to race home, hoping i would get to see a little bit of that. by the time i got in the garage, i saw the news.

Croatia stunned Brazil today at the World Cup, beating them 1-1 (4-2) on penalty kicks. i did get the chance to watch the second game. that was another holy shit affair. Argentina built a 2 goal lead only to watch the Netherlands score 2 late goals to send the game to extra time. the game went to penalty kicks and Argentina won, 2-2 (4-3). Croatia vs. Argentina in the World Cup semifinal should be an entertaining war.

i've got my final load of laundry in the washer. i did go through the baseball cards. i got a few good ones today.

oh yeah, that's why i hate the holidays...

 so, as if i'm not under enough fucking stress at the moment, it has come to my attention that my mother never paid my sister back for the house we are living in. my sister floated the money since the farm hadn't sold yet when we bought this house. i was under the impression that my mother paid her back when the farm was auctioned off. now, why my sister waited 6 fucking years to bring this up, i'm not sure. but, this goes back to my fear, that just like my father, my mother is going to leave me nothing. and my sister gets on my fucking nerves, but i do my best to not show it. take last night for example... i texted her around 6 to ask her if she was eating dinner with us. i don't hear anything until 8 when she tells my mother that we don't have to wait on her to eat, she can just warm up whatever i was making. now, i would have loved to have dinner around 7 because i'm not a big fan of eating while i am watching television. so, i made some fish and fries as that was the quickest thing i could make. and of course, i had to eat fast as i had to help my sister unload her car when she got here. maybe i'm just too simple minded to think college educated people who make 6 fucking figures can at least communicate like humans. 

AEW was really good last night.

nothing on the DVR tonight. NXT UK is a best of. i will probably watch some of college football games and the NFL game tonight between the 49ers and Titans.

i am currently watching the USA vs. Finland pre-tournament game for the World Juniors. that tournament begins the day after Christmas.

i did get some baseball cards yesterday and today. the cards yesterday were from a box at Rite Aid. there was about $10 worth of cards in it. the cards today were two Derek Jeter art cards. there was only 99 made of each, so being able to get both for $25 i thought was a good investment.

i am going to try to be on here in the morning tomorrow.
