i guess i should stop hoping for normal...

my back has felt pretty good today. problem is, i didn't sleep worth a shit last night. it almost felt like i was napping in 45 minute cycles. just fucking pointless. so, i didn't go to Menards like i wanted to. oh well.

the Yankees lost last night at home to the Angels, 9-4. they were supposed to start a series against the Rangers tonight at home but mother nature told them to fuck off. so, they will play another doubleheader tomorrow. joy.

Big Brother was good last night. Kenney was evicted. Angela is the new HOH. i expect a week of fucking chaos.

Don't Forget the Lyrics was good last night.

NJPW was good last night as well.

i was very saddened today to learn of the death of Kevin Sullivan. he was one of my favorite wrestlers of all-time. one of the most creative heels to ever work.

i think i had the Olympics on today while i was taking a nap.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and AEW Rampage. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

i will probably be on here in the morning, before the Yankees start their doubleheader. at least, that is the plan.

i know i need to get some writing done tonight...

i need to go figure out dinner, so that's all for me kids...

hope everyone has a great weekend...

until tomorrow...

a rainy, humid day...

i decided to just do all the grocery shopping today. the time for mom's appointment tomorrow was later than i thought she wrote down, so it made more sense to just get it done today. hopefully, i'll get the blog done tomorrow before her appointment, more on that in a bit.

so, i had a thought last night while doing the dishes at 2:30 in the morning. i remember a conversation i had with a homeless man years ago while sharing a bottle of hooch in a brown paper bag. he said the one thing people hate more when you're talking about them is when you're not. that made me chuckle last night when thinking about the one i'm not supposed to talk about in this blog. and i'm sure at this point, i'm supposed to make some funny statement or something, but i'm not going to. i have plenty i will say one day. probably not soon. but, who knows. even better, who cares.

the Yankees won last night in Seattle, 9-4. of course, it came with a price. Matt Carpenter broke his foot last night. i'm not going to be shocked if he ends up missing the rest of the season. hopefully, they will win again tonight, even though i really doubt they do. they haven't proven they can hit Luis Castillo at all this season.

Monday Night Raw was really good last night.

Industry was great last night.

Don't Forget the Lyrics was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Deadliest Catch, What We Do in the Shadows and Hard Knocks.

the World Juniors tournament starts back up today. it normally happens right after Christmas but COVID but an end to that this year. team USA plays Germany tonight. i'll watch some of that for sure.

i'm going to try to be on here in the morning tomorrow. mom's appointment at the heart doctor is in the afternoon. and considering the Yankees play a day game tomorrow, the morning is the best time for it.

grocery shopping went pretty well today. of course, it just had to fucking rain.

you ever notice your left hand trembling...

i love when i get ready to start typing and don't know exactly what i'm going to put down and my left index finger starts to tremble a bit... i always wonder if that is just anxious energy or my little precursor to Parkinson's. good times.

the Yankees lost yesterday to Seattle, 2-0. they left a small village on base and lost Gleyber Torres to a sprained thumb. sure, why not add another fucking player to the injured list. they play tonight at the Royals. they need to start another winning streak as the Blue Jays are right behind them now. thank god Boston is choking their season away.

Big Brother was good last night.

The White Lotus was excellent last night. next week is the series finale.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan was good last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i listened to episode 355 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

i also checked out some of the NBA Summer League games today.

the New York Rangers gave a really nice extension to Igor Shesterkin today. hopefully, he will help bring them a cup in this deal.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

mom has her physical therapist coming tomorrow morning and then we go to her new podiatrist in the afternoon. i know anytime she has two appointments in a day she will be worthless the rest of the night and the next day. plus, with the humidity being crazy this week, her Meniere's disease will truly be fucking with her. this is going to be one of those weeks from hell.

so, i should be on here in the afternoon tomorrow.

another night of seeing the sun come up...

i didn't get to bed until 7:30 this morning. i found a better site to actually get a more accurate price on some of my hockey cards, so that started another hunt in my books of cards last night. and that lead to me finding more cards, mostly baseball, that i had missed. the days are starting to blend all together now. joy.

thanks to everyone that has checked out my latest poem that was published this morning:
https://horrorsleazetrash.com/2020/08/09/j-j-campbell-39/

the Yankees split their doubleheader yesterday in Tampa. they won the first game, 8-4, and lost the second game, 5-3. Stanton got injured (shocker) in the second game and was put on the injured list with a strained hamstring. they are currently winning today's game- 1-0.

ROH was really good last night.

i did catch some of the NBA games yesterday.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Perry Mason, Last Week Tonight, The Chi, We Hunt Together, Desus & Mero and Big Brother.

i will probably watch some of the hockey games today and hopefully catch up on some sleep.

i should be on here tomorrow sometime after Manchester United plays in the Europa League.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

remind me to never go into a liquor store while in pain...

so yeah, i have been in pain for most of today. and when i was in the grocery store, my nerve pain really started hitting me. so, of course, the natural spot to go was the liquor store. 1 bottle of Wild Turkey, 1 bottle of Fireball and 5 little bottles of Absolut Vodka and i was leaving a happy man. of course, i know either my liver or my wallet are going to feel the effects at some point, but i'm not trying to live forever.

mom wanted some gift cards so there was no chance of keeping the total under $100 today. and for some damn reason, the grocery store decided to not be fully staffed on a Friday. fuck me.

the New York Yankees won again last night, defeating Toronto 12-6. hopefully, they will keep on winning tonight.

the New Orleans Saints play their first preseason game tonight against the Vikings. i don't think it's on television here, so i'll probably check out the highlights sometime tonight.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. Jack was evicted. Tommy won the HOH on his birthday. and i truly loved that Julie brought up all the racist shit Jack said in the house and made him answer for it on national television.

Holey Moley was hilarious last night.

Baskets was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, David Bowie Finding Fame, Real Time with Bill Maher and A Black Lady Sketch Show.

i will probably be on here tomorrow in the morning. it's a big wrestling weekend, so i'm shooting to get the blogs done early enough where i can settle in for a long one.

on top of that, with me sleeping like shit, i take as many naps as i can. thank god soccer has started back up. i can put on a game with two teams i don't give a shit about and get a good 60 minutes of a nap in easily.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

until tomorrow kids...

and when your mother says yeah, you were right...

we got to mom's appointment this afternoon 30 minutes early. we had to go to the post office first and mom thought there was going to be traffic. i'm old enough to know just let her have her way and deal with the outcome when it happens. we were out of that appointment before her actual appointment was scheduled. we decided to go to lunch after that. during lunch, mom was talking about not having any friends because my father was such a fucking embarrassment. i told her if you would have listened to me and call his bluff and divorce him when i was 8, just imagine where you would be now. she sighed and said yeah, you were right. i could see nothing but guilt on her face. i hate traveling down these roads with her as it will lead to nothing good. boy genius wins again. and i can tell mom does feel bad for the way my father treated me. it makes me laugh. where the fuck was that when he was doing it? hindsight does fucking nothing for me now.

the New York Yankees completed the sweep of the White Sox last night, 7-3. Stanton hit his first grand slam with the Yankees and Severino pitched his best game in a month to finally get his 15th win of the season. they start a series tonight at home against the Texas Rangers. hopefully, they will keep winning.

NXT was really good last night.

Lucha Underground was excellent last night.

Big Brother was good last night. i really hope Bayleigh is evicted tonight and the first in the jury house.

my god, my first celebrity crush is getting better with age:

the New Orleans Saints play their first preseason game tonight at Jacksonville. i may try to follow the game online. i do know if the Saints win, i will be drinking.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays. i'm going to do the grocery shopping before the game.

hello anger, it's me...

mix in arthritis with frustration and the inability of my fingers to hold a fucking computer mouse correctly anymore and you can understand why being a poet is some days as much of a fucking curse as it is a damn blessing. sending out the poems this morning was an adventure to say the least.

i sent out 12 poems, 2 to Tuck Magazine and 5 each to Easy Street and Synchronized Chaos (already accepted by the way). when i hear back from Michael and Cami, i'll pass on the verdicts.

i haven't typed up the poem i wrote yesterday. i'm hoping there are a few more coming. considering the pain i feel when typing, unless i'm drinking heavily, i'm not going to just type up one poem.

the New York Yankees left a small village on base yesterday, losing to Toronto 4-2. CC only pitched 3 innings because of a bad knee. that's just what this team needs... more injuries. hopefully they will get a win tonight. they are now 4 games behind Boston in the division.

Smackdown was pretty damn good last night.

205 Live was good last night as well.

the team this season on Hard Knocks is Tampa Bay. another team from the NFC South i can't stand, so i'll mostly be watching for shits and giggles.

Deadliest Catch was pretty good last night. i was reminded why i never felt any desire to work on a crab boat.

The Jim Jefferies Show last night was excellent.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Mr. Mercedes, Big Brother, Snowfall and Lucha Underground. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i think i was so damn tired last night that when i fell asleep i ended up staying in one position most of the 5 hours i was asleep. let me just say that wasn't much fun getting out of bed with your whole body in pain.

it took me over a hour to get the dishes done last night. that probably helped me be so damn tired. hopefully mom decides a dishwasher would be a nice addition to the house soon. i certainly wouldn't mind.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime before i take mom to her final physical therapy session for now. i guess i get to be the lucky one that makes sure she does her home exercises. joy.

the eruption is coming soon

i didn't try to write last night at all. i'm waiting for the words to hit me and then i'm expecting the great flood. i did get some mood music today on iTunes, just in case.

Monday Night Raw was not good last night. the only things i really enjoyed were the taped segments that Finn Balor and The Club did. the rest of the show was blah at best. the Stone Cold Podcast after the show was bizarre. Dean Ambrose is just a different cat and Stone Cold couldn't seem to get that through his head. it's almost like two different interviews were going on at the same time. it didn't help that for some reason my Blu-Ray was fucking up last night and i had to watch it on the computer. i got all that figured out today thankfully.

the trash is all picked up and is out at the curb. the humidity today is somewhere near hell levels.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Hard Knocks (LA Rams).

i am excited that the Paul Pogba drama is over and he has come home.
i can't wait to get this season started now. hopefully this will be the year Manchester United returns to glory.

i did watch the USA men's basketball team last night. they struggled early but eventually buried Venezuela, 113-69. next up will be Australia.

i will probably watch the USA women's soccer team take on Colombia later today.

the New York Yankees start a series at Boston tonight. if they have any prayer of making the playoffs, they have to sweep this series. i doubt that happens.

that's all for me kids. take it easy and then take it again.

time catches up to all of us

so i had one of my rare venture out into public and stay out after the street lights come on nights last night. the alumni soccer games were pretty good. it was nice seeing some faces i haven't seen since i graduated from high school. i joked at one point what this really is is the white high school reunion. seeing that i've never been invited to any of our high school reunions (other than day of), it seemed rather appropriate. the two guys that told me about the event and wanted to know if i was going of course didn't show up. they have kids and wives, so i imagine "life" came up. the night did spark some words in my head. i've got one damn line that i'm going to have to write out of my head as it kept me up most of the night. i might have a stanza so far, so i just need to sit down and pound it out. get your mind out of the gutter. i was here first.

sitting on those metal bleachers did my back no favors. i came home instead of going out with a group of people. i don't think many of the people going were drinkers, which i have to have to be in public anymore. there's the beauty of being fucked in the head my friends. good times.

enjoy some music people:

Power was excellent last night. another ending that blew my mind. next week is the season finale. that should be an interesting one.

ROH was great last night. all of the matches were excellent.

the New York Yankees lost again yesterday 6-0. the manager kept the starter in one batter too long. hoping for a double play, it turns into a grand slam. whoops. now the lead is down to 2 1/2. and when you hear people with the team start talking about the lead in the loss column, that's a sign of panic. Tanaka pitches today to try to avoid the sweep. i won't say today is a MUST win, but it's pretty damn close.

now enjoy some culture kids:

tonight on the DVR will be Big Brother, the season finale of True Detective, Ballers, The Brink, Last Week Tonight, The Strain, Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex. should be a very interesting night of television.

i figure i probably will watch all of that tonight or early in the morning. if my writing session starts a fire on the page, i may end up typing all night anyway. that is something i really wouldn't mind at the moment.

that's all for me today. was pleased to wake up from my morning nap to watch Arsenal lose. that certainly has started the day off on a good foot.

hope everyone has a great Sunday. may the drinks be cool and the bodies hot. unless you're into something the opposite, which is fine with me, i don't try to judge. it's not my job.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
