WrestleMania weekend...

WrestleMania 41 is this weekend. since i have seen every WrestleMania, i don't plan on ending that streak anytime soon. so, plenty of the next few blogs will have enough wrestling talk to drive you mad. i totally get it if you skip all that to find the other stuff. but, if you are interested in it, enjoy.

before i get to any of that, here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

Smackdown was excellent last night.

the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony was good last night. it was long as fuck, but i figured it would be.

the Yankees won last night against Tampa Bay, 1-0. hopefully, they will win again this afternoon.

Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.

i did catch some of the NBA playoffs last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight.

the NHL and NBA playoffs really get going today.

i do plan on watching NXT Stand & Deliver this afternoon. that should go right into night 1 of WrestleMania.

i will be on here tomorrow in the morning, before Manchester United plays Wolves at home.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

now i remember why i never wanted to be an adult...

so, i finally got a phone call through to the pharmacy at Kroger. they had some Trulicity and took all my information and got my prescription transferred over to Kroger from Rite Aid. and amazingly, it was only $25. now, i was hoping they were going to call to say it was ready while i was shopping at Meijer. of course, that call never came. so, i checked the website when i got home and saw it was ready. nothing like going back out during rush hour traffic. this kind of running around is the adult shit i never liked. and given how Manchester United lost yesterday and how the Yankees didn't do much today in the home opener... let alone a fucking earthquake on the east coast today. that was a phone call from the muse this morning i certainly was not expecting...

here are your 3 videos for this day of national poetry month:

so, let me get this shit out of the way. when Manchester United got down 2-0 yesterday at Chelsea, i was not surprised. when they tied it at 2 by halftime, i still wasn't surprised. when Garnacho scored to make 3-2 late, all i was hoping was they were going to show they actually learned their lesson from the last game and could see it out. silly me. Chelsea scored 2 goals in the last 3 minutes to win the game 4-3. to have that loss and then have your next game be at home to Liverpool... if they shit the bed in that like they did at Chelsea, ETH will be looking for a job.

the New York Yankees lost today at home to Toronto, 3-0. that was the first time they were shutout in the home opener since 1967. fuck me.

Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.

NJPW was really good last night.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage and Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show. i'll watch the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony tonight on Peacock.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Detroit.

i will be on here in the morning tomorrow as WrestleMania weekend kicks off by noon tomorrow.

i did send some poems off last night for the possible inclusion into a new book i will have out in July with one of my favorite female poets, Casey Renee Kiser.

i hope everyone has an amazing weekend.

from what it looks like on the radar, we might have some oh shit weather coming tonight. there is nothing worse than tornadoes at night. hell, i don't think this area has exactly recovered since the last one hit here. so yeah, that will be in the back of my mind tonight while i'm watching whatever i have on. of course, if it gets really bad, the satellite will go out anyway. good times.

insert your favorite title here...

i think i got to sleep sometime around 5 this morning. and there i was, up at 8:30, ready to go. i want to believe that a good power nap is a way to survive, but in all honesty, it really is a way to make sure that you don't live past the expiration date.

before i get going on all the wrestling last night, here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

Smackdown was really good last night.

the WWE Hall of Fame ceremonies were excellent last night. it went a little long, but given the career the Undertaker had, i completely understand that he would still be talking right now if he wanted to.

AEW Rampage was very good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.

Back On the Record with Bob Costas was good last night.

i'm going to watch Jerrod Carmichael's comedy special this afternoon.

welcome to National Poetry Month...

so, today has been a little crazy. mom got sick and had to cancel her physical therapy appointment. i have no clue if she has a cold coming on or if stress is getting her sick again. that is one thing that she has never learned how to handle. fun fun fun.

welcome to National Poetry Month. my plan is to do three poetry videos everyday. plus, i am hoping to get a few of my poems up on SoundCloud and share those as well. so here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

i did watch the World Cup draw today. the USA is in Group B with England, Iran and whoever wins the playoff between Scotland, Wales and Ukraine. i don't mind this group as i think the boys can finish first or second in it. i would prefer them to finish first as that most likely means they will miss playing the Netherlands, who should win Group A.

Young Sheldon was very good last night.

United States of Al was pretty funny last night.

How We Roll was good last night.

Atlanta was fucking great last night.

the season finale of Dicktown was hilarious last night.

NJPW was good last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking great last night.

enjoy some music:

i will be watching the WWE Hall of Fame ceremonies on Peacock tonight. it is officially WrestleMania weekend now.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against the Islanders. hopefully the boys get a win tonight.

considering that the NXT show starts tomorrow at noon, i will be on here early so i can have the blog done before that happens.

back to the no sleep times again...

i watched the first episode of that Hemingway documentary on PBS last night. it is truly fucking amazing. Hemingway is definitely one of many influences on my writing. and the first episode had some things in it that i had never known. i finished that at 2 in the morning. i think i might have got to bed sometime around 5. of course, i was up at 9 this morning because mom had physical therapy at 10. good times.

the poet of the day for this day of National Poetry Month is Luis Cuauhtemoc Berriozabal. i have been published with LCB for years and i have always enjoyed his work.

now the cherry on top of a crazy weekend...

today is, at least for me, all about WrestleMania. this is the 35th incarnation of the event and i have seen every one of them. i think the show starts around 5 and will probably end around midnight. i suppose i should have got more than 4 hours of sleep.

last night was a little crazy. between the basketball games, the Yankees game and the WWE Hall of Fame incident involving a fan... let alone the NJPW/ROH show at Madison Square Garden, i think my internet crashed just from exhaustion.

i did see some of both college basketball games last night. it's hard for me to believe the refs in the Auburn vs. Virginia game missed a clear double dribble against Virginia that would have sealed the game for Auburn. instead, Auburn fouls Virginia shooting a last second three (correct call by the way) and the guy made all 3 free throws to win the game for Virginia, 63-62. in the second game, Texas Tech defeated Michigan State, 61-51. i joked last night that in the title game, between two great defensive teams, first one to 40 wins.

some fucking idiot attacked Bret Hart last night while he was giving his speech for the Hart Foundation being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. the feed cut out and it was fucking chaos. kudos to the wrestlers that beat the shit out of the guy. the event was really good, other than that. DX went a little long, but i was laughing most of the time, so i didn't mind it.

the New York Yankees won last night in Baltimore, 6-4. they go for the sweep this afternoon.

the New York Rangers won last night in Pittsburgh, 4-3 in OT. here's hoping the Rangers somehow manage to win the draft lottery.

Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night.

ROH was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Barry, Veep, Last Week Tonight, Billions and The Chi. i'll be watching WrestleMania on WWE Network for all of the evening.

my sister spent the night here last night. they brought me back some brisket from their lunch in town yesterday. it was good. it's nice to have something other than fast food in town now. my sister and i talked a little about her job last night. she had an amazing interview for another job and i think she might get offered something in management at a different company soon. of course, this comes after she got a 4% raise at her current job. i have no doubt she will make the best decision for her.

here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. it's supposed to be storming tonight and into tomorrow. all i hope is the internet doesn't go out like it did yesterday.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

until tomorrow kids...

home alone, this feels weird...

my sister came down to the house today. she was going to a book signing close to here and came back to the house after she was done. mom talked to her about the new BBQ place in town and about going there for lunch. i told mom i wasn't going because i had the blog to write. her and my sister haven't been out without me tagging along in quite some time. plus, this gives me the chance to actually be in the house by myself for a change. not that anything crazy is going to happen. just nice to be able to scream if you need to and not be rude about it.

NXT Takeover:New York last night was fucking great. every match was at worst good. the main event between Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano did not disappoint. and by the time the show was over, i was in tears. the storytelling done between Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa has been fucking amazing these last few years. and to see them embrace at the end of show was the cherry on top.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

the 3 episodes of NJPW were really good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty good last night.

Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was great last night.

the New York Rangers lost in a shootout last night to Columbus, 3-2. thankfully, the Rangers season ends tonight in Pittsburgh.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH. i'll be watching WWE Hall of Fame ceremonies on WWE Network for a good portion of the evening.

i did listen to the special podcast put out by Notsam Wrestling today. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2019/4/6/notsam-wrestling-road-to-wrestlemania

the New York Yankees play tonight at Baltimore. it would be nice to see them actually win two games in a row at some point this season.

the Final 4 is also tonight. first up will be Auburn vs. Virginia and then it will be Texas Tech vs. Michigan State. i'll probably catch at least some of both games.

here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month.

i'm sure at some point tonight, my sister and i will shoot the shit over some alcohol and probably some murder mystery show she's obsessed with.

i will be on here tomorrow in the morning, mostly because WrestleMania is going to take up most of my Sunday.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.
