sleep, what a concept
i think i actually got some decent sleep last night, something close to 6 hours. i find that amazing as there was no alcohol involved, so i must have been tired as hell. i did feel refreshed for most of the day, until the fucking mail didn't get here until 4 in the afternoon. some days it's here by 11 AM and other days you can find the carrier jerking off in the McDonald's parking lot. welcome to life in a small town.
but, what i was waiting for was in the mail today:
my latest chapbook, part of the Punk Chapbook Series 2016 from Epic Rites Press. for more info and how to get your hands on it, go here: http://www.epicrites.org/punk-chapbook-series.html
Monday Night Raw was much better last night. the pacing, the matches, i thought everything just clicked. it wasn't a great show, but certainly wasn't as bad as the last month has been. i'm certainly looking forward to the Hell in a Cell ppv in 3 weeks.
The Voice started the battle rounds last night. the talent this season is pretty damn good.
Gotham was really damn good last night. the ending truly had me saying oh shit.
The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night. it's somewhat amazing that the show is still funny after all these years.
Vice News Tonight is going to be a show i will love. a quick paced news show that brings out the stories that most of the media won't touch.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Smackdown, Scream Queens and Atlanta.
team USA plays a soccer friendly tonight against New Zealand. hopefully i will be drinking a victory beer later tonight.
the trash is all picked up and now i'm going to take a long ass shower and get ready for the evening.
take it easy boys and girls, and then take it again.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
peace and chicken grease...
music:
Fats Domino - Walking to New Orleans (Live)
The Black Crowes - Seeing Things (Live)
Lucinda Williams - Change the Locks (Live)
Warren Haynes - Soulshine (Live)
"If work was a good thing, the rich would have it all and not let you do it." - Elmore Leonard
and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:

technology and i have never been best friends
so, i was watching my shows last night when i noticed the shows on Showtime didn't record. i turned to the channel and it was just a black screen. so, instead of just figuring out how to reboot the system myself, i contacted DirecTV. big mistake. once i rebooted the main receiver, Showtime came back on. and then, 2 minutes later, i had something pop up on the screen saying i was using more locations than allowed. 3 techs later, i was told this happened because the main receiver wasn't picking up the other mini receivers. i asked if it had anything to do with the reboot and they said no. i laughed, as this was the first time this has ever happened. so, after fucking around with everything for almost 60 minutes, everything was back to normal. of course, this also meant if i was going to watch the shows now, i was going to be up past 3 AM. i'm a sucker for pain. i used to love DirecTV but quite frankly, ever since AT&T got involved, straight downhill.
i enjoyed all the shows last night. Big Brother was pretty funny, as paranoia is finally settling in at the house.
The Night Of was great. i love a show with a good slow build. Ballers was good. Vice Principals was fucking hilarious.
Power was fucking great. Ray Donovan was crazy. Roadies was really good once again.
the New York Yankees amazingly won last night, 3-1, avoiding the sweep to Boston. they start a series tonight at home against Baltimore. if they lose this series, i have to think they will start trading off players.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
nothing on the DVR tonight as i will be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i did listen to the latest Sam & Cathy podcast this afternoon. very funny as usual. you can find it by going here: https://soundcloud.com/samrobertsshow/sam-cathy-020-back-to-cali
it was raining when i woke up this morning. nothing quite like pain after 3 hours of sleep. i've tried to get my back to loosen up for most of the day. no luck. i hope my mother is ready for the bitching when she gets home.
i was a little shocked at the trade the New York Rangers made today. i hate to see Derick Brassard leave, but they are getting someone back that is younger, cheaper, and i think just as good. that should open up the money to sign the rest of the restricted free agents and gives them an extra second round pick next year to help get younger. enjoy your time in Ottawa Brassy, you were always a good one. welcome to the team Mika Zibanejad.
i do encourage all of you to take advantage of the Punk Chapbook Series. $40 for 12 books is a fucking steal. and honestly, and i'm not saying this because i'm included, it's a great list of writers involved. for more info, go to: http://www.epicrites.org/
so i read more about the shooter yesterday in Baton Rouge. i'm curious if this country is ever going to have a conversation about mentally ill veterans anytime EVER. given the fact that my father was in Vietnam and died of Dementia, i have a pretty good background on this shit. and honestly, if we are really fucking serious about stopping mass shootings and whatnot, the first thing we have to fix is the mental health system. if that doesn't get fixed, it won't fucking matter what gun laws you change or what barriers you put up to stop this shit from happening. of course, we won't have that discussion about mental health because no one wants to accept the blame for fucking over generation after generation of people who gave the ultimate sacrifice for this country.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

fighting the world on little sleep
i suppose the only good thing that has happened in the last 48 hours is i no longer have a headache. other than that...
welcome to the 15th day of National Poetry Month. today, i'm shining a light on Epic Rites Press. it is easily, one of the best presses around. i highly suggest you check out the site and then go BUY a book, a t-shirt, a magnet, something. here are a few links you may need:

i think i may have got 2 good hours of sleep last night. the kind of sleep where you have drool halfway up your arm. then, i was over at the farm taking some more shit to goodwill with mom. she then wanted to go shop at a store not far from the Goodwill. i wanted to go back to the farm and get more shit done. of course, i didn't win. i did get some beer out of the shopping, so all was not lost.
the Yankees lost last night 4-3. hopefully they will get the series win tonight against the Orioles.
i was a little shocked at who America saved last night on The Voice. apparently, a bunch of teenage boys got on twitter and voted for the one they wanted to have sex with. not that Deanna isn't stunning, but to my ears her performance fucking stunk. being a blues guy, i was hoping Mia Z was going to stick around. but, i've got a good clue who is going to be in the bottom three next week.
it was nice having Deadliest Catch back on last night. it's definitely one of the better shows on television. this season looks like it's going to be another crazy one.
i did see some late night television last night that made me laugh and feel old at the same time:
tonight is going to be a crazy one for me. a little baseball, team USA takes on Mexico in a soccer friendly/war, Lucha Underground will be on the DVR as i'll be checking out NXT on the WWE Network at the same time, and then, oh by the way, the NHL playoffs start tonight. thankfully, the New York Rangers start tomorrow night. this will be a long, long evening.
got some music at NoiseTrade today. i'll post the links below in the music section.
as you might imagine, i have a few poems swimming around my head these days. hopefully, i will get a chance to sit down and let the flood hit the page here in the next few days. i want to get those poems down before the chance to know my father is dead comes along. i can't imagine the poems that will come with that news.
that's all for me today. there's another round of storms coming. and i found out today the guy that lives on the other side of me is one of these old fuckers that mows the grass every three days or so. thank fucking god that the guy that mows my uncle's yard does ours as well. i'd be too tempted to pull some white trash shit and either mow when it needs it (once a month or so) or just concrete the whole fucking yard and make it a basketball court.
hope this finds you with a lovely blonde between your legs asking if you need another round.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
