it always seems like the end of the year, especially for the last few years, becomes the year of death. i woke up this morning to the news of the death of Mike Leach. he was one of my favorite college football coaches and humans on this planet. a true original who never shied away from talking about absolutely anything. he will be sadly missed. rest in peace coach.
a delightful trip into the dark mind of an evil genius or simply the musings of an asshole

and of course, CR7 to the rescue...
so, i got home from the grocery store right in time to watch the Manchester United game today. of course, they went down 2-0 in the first half against Atalanta. i was so angry during the first half, i went through the baseball cards i got today instead of watching most of it. paid $5 for the Fairfield box, there was around $12 worth of cards in it. i had lunch and then watched the second half. Rashford scored to make it 2-1. Maguire of all people scored to make it 2-2. and of course, Cristiano Ronaldo scored to win the game for United, 3-2. they are now on top of the group in the Champions League. hopefully, this gives them some good thoughts going into the weekend where they play Liverpool on Sunday.

well, that's all for the baseball season for me...
the Yankees lost last night to Boston, 6-2. i will be stunned if Aaron Boone is back next season. personally, i hope he's not. he was given a team 4 years ago that was 1 game away from the World Series. he never got the team that close in his 4 years, and he had Stanton and Cole on top of it. the whole thing for me is if Boone goes, then Cashman has to go as well. they need a whole organizational switch and fucking realize that all these teams have passed them by. if The Boss was still alive, i think a few of them would have been walking back from Boston last night.

the year of death keeps chugging along...
i'm not sure if it's just because i am getting older and closer to death, but it seems like every fucking year now, death just consumes me... and what really gets me is when people younger than i am die. to think as much as i have craved to die in my 44 years on this planet, to see some beautiful, talented people with so much to give go so fucking soon, it's numbing to say the least. it's these fucking cloudy days in the winter where i can do nothing but think about this shit. no wonder i want to move somewhere where the sun fucking shines most of the year.
The Masked Dancer was good last night.
Power Book II: Ghost was really good last night. i can't fucking wait to see what happens on the season finale next week.
Shameless was excellent last night. the look back at all the seasons really made me enjoy just how long this show has been on.
Your Honor was very good last night.

breakfast at noon...
so, mom wanted to go get her blood work done this morning. sadly, she can't move as fast as she thinks she can anymore. so, by the time we got to the hospital to have the blood work done, it was after 11 AM. she had me wait in the car, which surprised me. i wish she would have told me that before we left so i could have brought pen and paper with me. oh well. she was back out 30 minutes later. we went to Waffle House to finally eat breakfast. that was at noon. joy.
Monday Night Raw was good last night.

i know it's a fall weekend when...
i get up in the morning and put together a turkey chili that we will eat for dinner tonight. i figured there was a frost advisory for last night, so fuck it, time to make a chili. only problem i have is we have no cornbread and i have no desire to go get the ingredients to make some. oh well.
Smackdown was really good last night. 205 Live was a clip show previewing the NXT Cruiserweight championship match tomorrow on NXT Takeover 31.

i should have known...
i just put my last load of laundry in the washer. i'm running on fumes. good times.
i got my pills this morning at the grocery store. after that, i went to Meijer to look for some baseball cards. i didn't find much of those, but i did get 2 packs of football and hockey cards. and if i can get what i want for the two Patrick Mahomes cards i got today, i'll make back everything i spent on the cards i got.
AEW last night was pretty good.
Big Brother was good last night. i'm pretty sure Kaysar will be evicted tonight.
Cari & Jemele Stick to Sports was excellent last night.
the Yankees lost to Tampa last night, 5-2. hell, it was 4-0 before the Yankees got a damn out in the first inning. the Yankees play a makeup game with the Mets this afternoon before they play another damn doubleheader in Baltimore tomorrow.

and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Holey Moley, Cake and Big Brother. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
here are your NHL highlights from last night:
i'm sure i'll watch some of the playoffs tonight as well.
and at some point before exhaustion gets the better of me, i'm hoping to write a few poems today or tonight. i would like to get another batch together for my first round of submissions for the month.
i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
i have clothes to fold, a bad back to ice down and probably 50 other fucking things i need to do that are escaping my mind at the moment.
until tomorrow kids...
