a night of storms...

we had some thunderstorms last night, a couple tornado warnings, plenty of fucking wind, but no damage that i could see this morning. of course, i slept like shit, as usual. mom wanted me to wake her up this morning at 9 so she could call her accountant and tell him she wouldn't be coming in today. i guess i will bring him the taxes when she is done with everything. if my mother has mastered one thing in her life... procrastination.

the Yankees lost last night at home to Arizona, 4-3. they will hopefully avoid the sweep tonight.

the New York Rangers won last night at home against Minnesota, 5-4, in OT.

AEW Dynamite was good last night.

Abbott Elementary was excellent last night.

The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.

here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

i was going to do my laundry today but my back told me to go fuck myself. so, i guess i will try tomorrow.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i have even less of a clue what i am doing for dinner tonight.

a night to forget...

so, last night was one to forget...

the Yankees lost at home to the Royals, 4-2. the series is now 1-1. Game 3 will be at the Royals.

the New Orleans Saints lost last night at the Chiefs, 26-13. Derek Carr injured his oblique last night and will be out for the next couple of weeks. neither of the Saints backups have much experience, so what i thought was going to be a great season now has turned to absolute shit.

The Voice was pretty good last night.

Monday Night Raw was good last night.

mom and i got our COVID vaccines today at Kroger. thankfully, i made the appointments online and that saved a ton of time. we were done before mom's appointment was supposed to start. joy.

i think i was so angry last night that i actually got close to 6 hours of sleep.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Deadliest Catch, The Voice and AEW Dynamite.

the NHL season is starting back up today. the Rangers play tomorrow night in Pittsburgh.

i will probably watch some of the baseball playoffs tonight as well.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

the joys of nostalgia...

so night 1 of WrestleMania was better than i think anyone was ever expecting. my favorite moments were Cody Rhodes coming back as the American Nightmare, using everything he used while he was in AEW. that was like WWE admitting, yeah, you guys did it better and we can't think of something better than that... and the work of Kevin Owens in his match against Stone Cold Steve Austin was perfect. and the bumps that Austin took after not having a match in 19 years were fucking insane. honestly, if night 2 is even close to last night, this will be one of the best WrestleManias in years.

NXT Stand & Deliver was excellent as well yesterday.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.

i did get to watch Jerrod Carmichael's comedy special Rothaniel yesterday. it was fucking great, as usual.

thank god North Carolina beat Duke last night. they will play Kansas on Monday for the national championship.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Billions, Super Pumped: The Battle for UBER, Shining Vale, Last Week Tonight and Game Theory with Bomani Jones.

Manchester United and Leicester played to a 1-1 draw yesterday. i pretty much have given up hope that United is going to finish in the top 4.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Philadelphia. hopefully, the Rangers will play much better than their last game and win tonight.

here are your 3 videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

i helped mom change the toilet seat in her bathroom today. my back is totally fucked now. so, i'm going to spend most of the rest of the day and night in my massage chair with some ice. watching more wrestling than any one human probably should.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

here comes some sunshine...

at least the weather this weekend is supposed to be good. plenty of sunshine and (hopefully) no snow. i know i plan on opening the house up later this afternoon.

the poet of the day for this day of National Poetry Month is Alan Catlin. i have been published with Alan for years, by Alan for years and i have always considered him one of the best.

https://rivetjournal.com/issue1/three-poems-by-alan-catlin/

Smackdown was really good last night.

i didn't get to watch 205 Live last night. by the time i turned on Peacock, i couldn't find it anywhere. and on the page for the show, they are two weeks behind. joy.

Hysterical last night was very good.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Saturday Night Live.

the Yankees play this afternoon at home against Toronto.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Buffalo.

i will hopefully be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays.

always busy with something...

so i had this major ass to do list today. of course, i didn't get to bed until 5 this morning, so that put a major dent into my plans. 5 hours of shitty sleep later, and the race began. i had some breakfast and got ready to go to the bank and the grocery store for my prescriptions. i told mom that i would take her to the drug store when i got back. thankfully, the weather is really nice today. of course, that meant plenty of fuckers out and about... a Sunday drive on a Wednesday. never fails.

everything went smooth at the bank and grocery store. mom was shockingly ready to go by the time i got home. i guess the injection is working so far (fingers crossed). we found everything she was looking for at the drug store. she wanted some lunch after that so i drove to the local Lee's and got her some chicken.

after lunch, i needed to get my laundry started, get the Yankees game on and write a blog for the day. trying to do 3 things at one time is a little ambitious for me, but i'd rather drive myself crazy than allow the world to do it.

here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month.

the New York Yankees lost to Detroit last night, 3-1. they are currently tied with Tigers this afternoon.

Smackdown was really good last night. i love how things are going into WrestleMania this year.

Miz & Mrs. was hilarious last night.

205 Live was really good last night.

Deadliest Catch was good last night. the new season looks crazy once again.

The Jim Jefferies Show was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, the series finale of You're the Worst and What We Do in the Shadows. i'll watch NXT and NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Ottawa. lose for Hughes boys.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i take mom to her doctor's appointment south of town. always fun when you have to leave a hour early to get to an appointment on time.

hope everyone is doing well and the weather is nice where you are. i have clothes to go fold.

when the thunder rattles the whole house...

i started aching sometime before midnight. i asked mom when was the rain supposed to begin. she said right about now. so, at least i know my body is receptive still. i probably didn't fall asleep until 4 in the morning. i might have got 4 hours of sleep by the time i got out of bed. mom asked me if the thunder that shook the whole house woke me up? i said yes, having no damn clue what she was talking about. she said it was loud enough to wake the dead. i laughed, as i must have slept right through it. so, at least i know when i do sleep, i get a good 1 to 3 hours of deep sleep. joy.

all this rain we're getting at the moment (2.6 inches so far this morning, i'm sure it's over 3 inches by now) is headed northeast. i'm sure that means they will have a hard time getting the New York Yankees home opener in this afternoon. i hope i am wrong.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

The Voice was really good last night.

mom just cancelled her physical therapy for this afternoon. her arthritis is so bad she can barely move right now. i just checked the rain gauge again and there was another 1.5 inches in it. that's 4.1 inches in less than 12 hours with more on the way. our front yard is starting look like a pond.

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night. i really like the way they have gone into WrestleMania this year.

King in the Wilderness last night was brilliant. the first 5 minutes of the documentary was like a punch right to the gut. it's hard to believe it's been damn near 50 years since he was assassinated. i highly recommend everyone go out of their way to see this one.

i didn't watch much of Villanova's victory over Michigan last night, 79-62. mom had picked Villanova to win the title when she filled out her bracket. i didn't bother to count her wins and losses. i really didn't want to know that she did better than me this year.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Voice, The Chris Gethard Show, The Jim Jefferies Show and Deadliest Catch. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

of course, if the storms persist all damn day and night, i have no clue how much of that will actually record.

the New York Rangers play at New Jersey tonight. it would actually benefit the Rangers to win tonight. if they could keep New Jersey from making the playoffs, that second round pick of New Jersey's that the Rangers got in the Grabner trade would be much better than what it would be if they make the playoffs. of course, i'm not expecting the Rangers to win tonight.

and since my afternoon is now suddenly free, i will probably spend a good portion of the afternoon figuring out where my next batch of poems will be going to.

that's all for me kids.

i'll be on here tomorrow after my doctor's appointment.

never a dull day when there's blood involved

i'm sure that title has you wondering what the fuck happened. more on that in a little bit. but first, for National Poetry Month today, i wanted to shine a little light on Interior Noise Press.

one of the finest small presses around, head on over to the site and check out. or more importantly, BUY some of the poetry there from yours truly, Jason Floyd Williams, Doug Draime, Mather Schneider, James Babbs, Justin Hyde, Glenn Hardin and Carl Miller Daniels. pick up any of these books and you will not be disappointed.

in other artsy fartsy news, my good friend and artist from Sweden, Janne Karlsson, has a new book out. you can find it on amazon.com by going here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1926860462

so i went with mom to the store and we got a few things plus a good number of storage bins that were on sale. so, as i was loading them into the car, the 7 lids that were together came back and smacked me right in the face. busted open a nice gash on the bridge of my nose. once i got the bleeding stopped i told my mother i hope it scars. that would be one where i really could make something creative up about it.

we did some more cleaning over at the farm today. i was feeling miserable as it has been raining on and off all damn day long. or it was the Burger King i had for lunch. we've got a ton of shit to do tomorrow as well. so, i don't know if i will get to watch Manchester United play or not.

the New York Rangers blew a lead last night but immediately came back to win 3-2 in regulation to clinch the division last night. that gives them home ice for the playoffs for the first two rounds. here are the highlights from last night:

the Late Late Show with James Corden was brilliant last night. to record a show from a stranger's house was one of those out of the box ideas that i absolutely loved. plus, the woman from Australia visiting happened to be fucking beautiful. i'm sure that helped. here's a few highlights from the show:

what a fucking excellent show.

i've got a ton of shit i'm putting on the DVR tonight; The Grace Helbig Show, NJPW, etc etc. my sister is down for the weekend, so i figure i'll either be doing something with her and the family this evening or in my room listening to some music. all i know is i really need to ice my back down, so i'm wrapping this fucker up.

hope everyone has a great weekend. if you are into the Easter shit, enjoy it. if not, enjoy the candy.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

ready for the funeral

this blog post is brought to you by episode 32 of The Sam Roberts Show Online. you can find the episode on Itunes, Stitcher, and notsam.com. click on podcast and help a budding superstar out. i highly recommend this episode. it is FUCKING HILARIOUS.

i'm in all black today, ready for the Yankees funeral. i'm not very happy mother nature postponed the inevitable, but oh well. here's hoping CC doesn't do the same today. i am so ready for this season to be over and for the team to be blown up. of course, that will be next to impossible with all the horrific contracts they have, but a man can dream can't he...

plenty on the tv docket tonight as well. a good NFL game, a sneaky good college football game, and the usual Thursday night television as well. guess i'll be napping in front of the tv again.

actually wrote a poem yesterday that came out of nowhere. love when that happens. of course, the main line popped in my head at the post office. so, like a madman, i repeated it out loud to myself over the blaring music on the ride home. thankfully, i only live about 5 minutes away. i'll be typing that up tomorrow most likely. hopefully, a few others pop in my head and i'll be thinking about another submission next week.

music today:

The Civil Wars - Live at Eddie's Attic
Hammock - Departure Songs Sampler
The Charlie Daniels Band - A Decade of Hits
Matthew Perryman Jones - Land of the Living
Metallica - Death Magnetic
