preparing for the storm...

my body has been aching for most of today. i didn't get much sleep last night either. so, i'm thinking my body is telling me some shit is on the way. the weather reports are all over the place. i guess it all depends on where the rain/snow line sets up. we could just get 2 inches of snow. or we could get 8 inches of snow. no one will know until it starts. great.

i've been busy today getting my laundry done and getting some of the Sunday chores out of the way. one, because of the storm, but mostly because of the Super Bowl.

i watched the new episode of Treehouse Masters last night. some of those treehouses in Germany were pretty fucking cool. other than that, it was basically just bouncing around until i finally fell asleep.

i got up early enough this morning to catch the Terry Bradshaw roast i missed last night. after that, i got a little breakfast and got ready for the Manchester United game.

the boys didn't play their best today, but thankfully, their best wasn't needed. a 3-1 win is a good start of some important games coming up. hopefully they can stay healthy and keep scoring. here are some highlights from the game against Leicester City.

i made sure to give the cats and birds plenty of food today. i figured they will panic if the bad shit comes tonight.

i've been watching some college basketball games today while doing my laundry. once my laundry is done, i think it will be time for the New York Rangers game tonight. they play Carolina at home and desperately need to WIN. hopefully i'll be enjoying my second victory beer later tonight.

i believe Saturday Night Live is new tonight as is ROH. both of those will be on while the snow is starting. so, i'll be going from the television to the window, pacing like some crazy asshole.

unless mother nature changes shit up on me, i'm pretty sure i won't be going to the Dayton Flyers game tomorrow. thankfully, it's on tv. so, the plan will be to get up early, hope the fucking paper is at the end of the lane and in plastic, feed the cats and then be in for the rest of the day.

i'll be on sometime in the morning tomorrow. hopefully, bitching about yet another weather forecast that was wrong.

hope everyone is having a good weekend. may your drinks be cold and somehow FREE.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

last night took a few years off my life...

the problem with being a passionate sports fan is you will have nights where not only does your heart get broken, it gets ripped out, trampled on, and then smothered in shit.

last night was one of those nights.

but, before i get to that, let me get the poetry news out of the way. i sent out 8 poems today; 3 to Dead Snakes and 5 to Your One Phone Call. when i hear back from these places i will pass on the verdict.

The Big Bang Theory was good last night. thankfully, it gave me a little laughter in a night of frustration and yelling.

the Dayton Flyers lost at UMass last night, 66-64. they missed way too many free throws and 3's in this game. just make a few more and they win this easy. my fear is they are running on fumes from having only 7 players basically. their next game is on Sunday at home, which mother nature might be forcing me to miss. more on that later.

the New York Rangers lost to Montreal last night, 1-0. King Henrik gave up a soft goal late in the 3rd that was the difference. my hope is a shitty Carolina team is the cure for the sudden lack of goal scoring since the All-Star break. that game is tomorrow night.

both of those games finished before 10 last night. for about 90 minutes after the games, i simply played music and fumed while on the computer. i'm pretty sure last night took a few years out of me. i'm also sure, in my younger days, i would have been breaking shit.

so i guess i have matured.

mom and i went out today to get some paint samples for the new house. i think the colors she picked out are going to work. we also had to get some cat food and bird food. i figured it was best to get it now with the impending weather.

the snow is supposed to start late Saturday night. it's supposed to end sometime on Sunday night, Super Bowl Sunday. i've seen that we might end up with 4 to 7 inches, and i've also seen that we might end up with a foot of snow. needless to say, any amount over 4 and i'm pretty much snowed in for the weekend. so, we got most of the mad scrambling done before tomorrow morning comes. most of the procrastinators around here didn't.

if we do get a ton of snow, i'll try to get some pictures to post on here.

i'm not sure what i'm going to be watching tonight. maybe some pro wrestling, maybe some Food Network, maybe some Treehouse Masters, maybe nothing at all.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after the Manchester United game. hopefully they will give me the chance to have a victory beer.

i guess being a disciplined alcoholic is my real problem.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i hope the weather is better where you are. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

tweaking the machine a bit

i woke up last night/this morning around 2. i decided, while mostly still asleep, to go write some poems. i had nothing to write about so i figured since i was still not really awake, i would just let it flow. i really, REALLY like the 3 poems i wrote. i typed them up after going back to bed. they will be a part of a submission i will send out tomorrow. not sure when i will employ this again, but as long as i'm sleeping in my chair and not my bed, i can definitely see it happening again.

team USA lost to Chile yesterday 3-2. it was rather obvious that they ran out of gas in the second half. but, it's also another damn loss while having a lead at halftime. that's not a good sign and MUST change soon.

Lucha Underground was great once again last night.

after that was over, i was flipping between home improvement shows as mom is going through ideas in her head about what she wants to do at the new house. i'm guessing we'll be knee deep in the moving process before too long.

i'm writing this now as today is a fucking clusterfuck. besides typing the poems up this morning, i also cleaned the toilets and emptied the dishwasher. at some point, i need to do the dishes, feed the cats, get my laundry going, go to the store with my mother, and hopefully have all that done before the sports start tonight.

the Dayton Flyers play at Massachusetts tonight. it should be a tight one, hopefully, i'm hoping Dayton can pull out a road win. i believe the game is on ESPNU.

at the same time, the New York Rangers take on Montreal at home tonight. hopefully. i'll be enjoying a couple of victory beers later tonight.

i'm also hoping to squeeze in The Big Bang Theory tonight as well.

chances are, i'll end up doing my laundry tonight. since i'm always up late anyway, i might as well.

there was some freezing rain that came through this morning. it has warmed up now to start melting all of that. of course, sometime later tonight, there's supposed to be some more weather coming through. hopefully it doesn't get too bad, as i'm really not in the mood to shovel.

mom made some banana bread this morning. excellent.

i will be on here sometime tomorrow to preview my Super Bowl weekend. as usual, i want to go out and mother nature wants to rain/snow on my fucking parade. if i ever get any fuck you money in my life, i'm moving somewhere where weather doesn't happen. feel free to email me some choices.

i hope everyone is doing good. if not, change that.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

and then life gets in the way...

i put some ice on my back last night as it was killing me, right around 11:30 or so at night. next thing i know, i wake up at 4:45 AM, all the lights still on and i'm wondering what the fuck happened. i completely forgot about the ice on my back, as i found that later in the afternoon, still in the chair. i suppose frustration, pain, life, etc. just all hit me at once. of course, i couldn't fall back asleep once i woke up. not even a damn nap this afternoon.

since i was up early, i listened to the new podcasts from Men in Blazers and Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast. both were excellent.

i found a few songs for FREE on iTunes last night. you'll see those listed down below.

my frustration last night came from the New York Rangers once again losing to the fucking Islanders, 4-1. at least they scored a goal this time. for some fucking reason, they think they can beat the Islanders with skill. will beats skill more times than people actually realize. but, hopefully the Rangers get that loss out of their system soon, as they are entering a stretch where they play every other day for awhile. next up is Montreal on Thursday.

by the way, you can now see the rest of my NHL All-Star game pics in the slideshow on the right hand side of this blog.

i was going to do my laundry today, but our water is just fucking nasty here lately. i changed the water filter and hopefully that will help it long enough for me to get a shower and maybe do some laundry. we just have so much fucking rust and iron in the water now that it's pretty fucking close to unbearable. so of course this happens as we're hoping to sell the place. life...

the USA Men's National team plays a soccer friendly today against Chile. i'm very interested to see how the boys do as 2015 is going to be an important year.

after that game, i'll be watching Lucha Underground. hopefully they have another great episode lined up for tonight.

i'd like to get some writing done tonight. i don't really have anything swimming in my head that needs to get out at the moment, so it should get interesting to see what i come up with on the spot. i don't really like to write like this but i've learned over the years that i'm good enough to make it work regardless.

if i do get a few poems that i like tonight, i'll mostly like do another submission in the next day or so. i've got 5 poems begging to get sent out soon.

that's pretty much all for me today. i'm thinking i will be on here early tomorrow as mom wants to go grocery shopping and there is a ton of shit on television tomorrow that i want/need to watch.

i hope this finds everyone with a stiff drink in your hand. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

back in the saddle again

when i got back home last night, the trash cans were in the same spot where i left them on the way to Columbus, the cats weren't dead, but the internet was out and the power went out at some point while we were gone. plus, 3 inches of fresh snow and plenty of aching bones. good times.

the NHL All-Star game was fun. i did enjoy it. i didn't take it seriously, as none of the players did either. i was really happy to see Rick Nash score 2 goals. plus, i can at least say for a year, i was at the highest scoring All-Star game in NHL history. here are a few of the 85 pics i took from the game:

it was snowing pretty good after the game. my sister and i went to get a little food and take it back to her condo. i hadn't eaten since the morning, so i was hungry. but, i decided not to eat too much, as the last thing i wanted to do was destroy my sister's bathroom. amazingly, i was able to get a little sleep that night on her couch.

turns out my sister does have HBO (she also has Showtime, but she didn't realize it until i told her the next day) so i was able to watch Girls and Togetherness on Sunday night. i also watched Total Divas, which my sister was amazed that she actually watched the whole hour of it.

the snow finally ended on Monday morning. most of the schools were closed. my sister had to get a mirror she purchased and she said the roads were shit. we were going to go out and do some shopping, but mother nature had other plans. in the afternoon, we picked up mom at her hotel. i met one of her bosses, who was a little surprised to find out that i'm a published poet. she then mentioned Charles Bukowski and i thought holy shit, i have to get this woman to like my work and become my Linda King.

we went to dinner Monday night at the house of one of my sister's friends from college. her and her husband are really fucking cool, so it was a pretty fun dinner. both are really into music, so that's always a fun conversation. i would have been drinking with them if i didn't have to drive back to the farm right after leaving their house. but, one day i can see us getting drunk and debating old records from the 70's and having a blast.

the drive back was an easy one. the roads were pretty damn clear. we got home in time for me to catch the last hour of Monday Night Raw and the shows on Showtime i missed; Shameless (another awesome episode), House of Lies (great ending) and Episodes (better than the last one).

i think i fell asleep to the blizzard coverage on the weather channel.

i watched the episode of Gotham i missed on Monday night this afternoon. it was yet another amazing episode. such a great show.

i guess the New York Rangers are playing tonight at the fucking Islanders. i guess the storm missed that dump out on Long Island. hopefully the Rangers can get a much needed win against those fuckers tonight.

other than that, i have some papers to read and mail to catch up on.

i got a call from the muse today. that was a pleasant surprise. of course, she called while i was out getting the paper and mail. hopefully we'll get to chat with each other soon.

that's pretty much all for me today. i think tomorrow may end up being a laundry day for me. so i'll try to get on here sometime between loads. i'm sure someone with a dirty mind just smiled.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

drinking myself to sleep

this will be a quick one today as i literally have a ton of shit to do...

i did get some sleep last night, thanks to a victory beer and sheer exhaustion.

the Dayton Flyers did their best to piss away a 10 point lead at halftime against Richmond. thankfully, they held on and came through with a 63-60 victory. here are the highlights from the game:

after getting a bite to eat, mom and i went back home to get some packing done and watch Saturday Night Live.

i thought Blake Shelton did much better than i thought he would. here are two of the skits that made me laugh:

make sure you stick around to the end of this one:

ROH was excellent last night. they have started 2015 on fire.

so after i eat a little breakfast, pick up all the trash, feed the cats, get the paper, etc. etc., i'll be making the drive to Columbus with my mother. i guess the plan is to take her to her hotel and my sister and i will make our journey down to the NHL All-Star game. after the game, i figure we're going out to eat. now, it's supposed to snow. i don't trust these weather fucks around here, but they are saying 3-5 inches. that should get interesting.

i have no clue if my sister has HBO or Showtime, so i don't know if i'll be watching some or none of my usual Sunday night shows. if that's the case, i'll have to check when i catch them before next week. (DAMN, WHERE IS MY DVR) i'll also sneak a peek or two online at the results of the Royal Rumble tonight. i'm interested in seeing the direction the WWE goes as this kicks off the road to Wrestlemania.

i think mom and i will be back home at the farm sometime Monday night. i may do a quick blog that night, or maybe a big one on Tuesday morning.

that's all for me. i need to go check on some fixed roofs, feed some cats and explain to them why they won't get fed until late on Monday, and get 28 days of trash down to the end of the lane. that should be fun.

hope everyone is having a great weekend. hopefully mine gets even better. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

let's start the weekend off with insomnia...

i think i might have got almost 3 hours of sleep last night. the drugs didn't work. nothing fucking worked. i eventually found some program that was in French or something that eventually got me to sleep. of course, 3 hours later the pizza i had for dinner decided it needed to leave my body. quickly. i didn't bother to try to fall back asleep after that. as you might imagine, i'm in a fucking great mood.

Manchester United pissed me off yesterday, but i can't blame them completely. their opponent, Cambridge United simply wanted to get a draw yesterday and nothing more. so, the 0-0 draw didn't surprise me. the replay will be in early February at Old Trafford. so, Cambridge can get their pay day and hopefully Manchester United can get the win to advance in the FA Cup. seeing that Manchester Shitty and Chelsea both lost today, i think Manchester United has a real shot at possibly winning the FA Cup this year. it's been 11 damn years since they have won it. that's way too long.

i did watch most of the NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft last night. i do like the team Rick Nash is on. that's the team i'll be cheering for, even though there are players from the fucking Islanders and Devils on it. i'm planning on bringing my camera to the game, so hopefully i'll get some good photos.

Treehouse Masters was pretty good last night. if i had some fuck you money, i would absolutely have a fucking treehouse.

NJPW was really good last night on AXS TV. anytime you can watch Okada wrestle Tanahashi, i highly recommend you do so. even if the match is from 2013.

the roofers were out here at 9 this morning to fix the barn roofs. it's been so damn long since they have looked good, i'll be fucking shocked when they get done. but, that will go a long way to getting this place ready to sell.

mom and i are going to see the Dayton Flyers take on Richmond tonight at UD Arena. i'm hoping Dayton can get back to winning. Richmond hasn't won on the road yet this year, but i'm not sold that's a good thing just yet. Dayton hardly ever plays well when ranked.

after the game, i have no clue if we're going out to eat or coming back home. i do know that i'm planning on watching Saturday Night Live and ROH this evening.

after that, i'm really hoping i can get some sleep. i have to drive mom to Columbus tomorrow for a nursing conference and i'm going to the NHL All-Star game with my sister. and to add to the stress of everything, there's supposed to be some snow/freezing rain/rain coming as we're traveling. good times.

i'm going to try to get a blog posted early tomorrow morning. there's a real good chance of me posting one if i'm battling insomnia again. since i'm spending the night at my sister's Sunday night, i have no clue the next time i will be blogging after that. it may be just a huge picture dump if i get some really good shots from the game.

that's all for me today. i need to hit the shower and get ready for the basketball game tonight.

i hope everyone is having a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

my balls are perfectly inflated...

this is the problem with the week between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl. the never ending machine in this country has to find something to talk about. now, a part of me loves how awkward this is for the "real" media to be talking about balls, but another part of me is just fucking sick of it. did the Patriots cheat? yes, that's what they do. does every QB in the league try to get away with the same shit? yes, it's called being a professional. if you're not cheating, you're not trying. and i would love for the NFL to get this shit over with so this isn't the topic du jour come Super Bowl week. that way they can get to more important topics like what shampoo does Tom Brady use? what tips does Russell Wilson have for growing an ugly looking beard? how soon does Richard Sherman go off in the postgame press conference? you know, the real important shit.

i was in some pain last night. my left arm was driving me nuts. i figure with the weather systems changing here the next few days, i'm in for it. i took two pain pills to get some sleep last night. it worked, amazingly. i think i got almost 7 hours of sleep. that's like 3 days worth for me. of course, the arm still feels like shit.

i really just bounced around the channels last night. a little college basketball, some pro basketball, some pro wrestling, some home rehab shows, etc etc. tonight will be a different story.

i'll probably watch some of the NHL All-Star fantasy draft. i'd like to see who i'll be cheering on Sunday when i'm at the game. i'm also planning on watching the new episode of Treehouse Masters. and, i'll finally get to see NJPW on AXS TV. i love the Japanese style of pro wrestling. that should make for an eclectic evening.

first up for today is the Manchester United game in FA Cup action. they are playing a team they should beat. hopefully, they don't wait forever like the last round.

after that, i'm not sure if i'm going to the grocery store with my mother or not. i know i need to get my pills as i run out of one this evening. plus, we're running low on milk and bread. she's stubborn though, still wants to be independent. so, i might have to play the asshole son later on and force her to let me drive her. good times.

today marks 20 years exactly since i last saw my father. i'm pretty sure he still lives in the same county i do. i'm pretty sure he has for the entire 20 years. if you ever had to wonder why i hate the man... i got a good laugh in the paper the other day. one of the first names in the obituaries was James E. Campbell. my father's middle initial is M. i told my mother to look at it and realize just how close we were to one of the greatest days of my life.

and with that uplifting note, i bid everyone a great weekend. be safe. be drunk. have fun. only harm the ones that deserve it.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

a day without sunshine

it's these days in the winter where my mind easily drifts into some pretty dark places. death, suicide, crazy mutilation porn, my shitty childhood, etc etc. and the scary thing is, the more good news i get (1 poem accepted, 2 selected for a best of), it brings me no joy at all. i still think about something Steve Harvey said nearly 15 years ago that burns me to my soul. if you have no one to share your success with, you don't have shit in your life. sure enough, here i am.

it completely slipped my mind that last night was the season finale of American Horror Story. i was happy that i got to watch all of it. i really enjoyed it and thought the series on the whole was awesome as well. i really enjoyed how they tied up some storylines and brought back characters from earlier in the season. that was a nice touch.

Lucha Underground was great once again. yet another fast paced episode that was surely some of the best indie work going on today in pro wrestling. here are some highlights:

i have no clue what i'm going to watch tonight. maybe some basketball, maybe some junior hockey up in Canada, maybe i'll just flip around the channels all night.

mom was supposed to be home hours ago. she said she was going to get the paper and mail while she was out, so i didn't bother to leave the house today (other than to feed the animals). so, i suppose i'll spend some time tonight going through the paper and mail.

the parts for the new roof got delivered today. they are hoping to get started on that tomorrow. that would get us one step closer to selling this place.

for those that are wondering, my left arm is slightly better, but i think it's mostly me blocking out the pain than the arm actually getting better. i'm still sleeping in a chair. i can lay down in a bed to stretch or to masturbate, but sleeping is damn near impossible. the pressure that builds in my arm is fucking unbearable after a few minutes. my luck, this won't be a nerve problem. if i can make it through this weekend without going completely insane, i'm shooting for a trip to the doctor next week sometime.

my last thought today is just wondering if anyone has masturbated so hard before that their dick felt like it was actually going to start to catch fire. welcome to my Thursday as you enjoy that visual.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

and 39 years ago today i screamed let me out

today became a birthday of getting shit done. i woke up in a decent enough mood and decided to be a glutton for punishment. i started typing up poems. exactly how any asshole who thinks himself to be a poet should spend his time at 7 in the morning on his birthday. in my utopia, i would be getting a blowjob while eating grapes. in reality, i'm wondering why my fingers don't work as fast on this keyboard.

anywho, i sent 16 poems out today. 3 to The Camel Saloon and 6 each to ZYX and The Stray Branch. when i hear back from these places, i'll pass along the verdicts.

i deposited my birthday money today at the bank. i also entered the gift card my mother got me for amazon.com. i'm not planning on getting anything from there until the move is complete. but, once that happens, i feel sorry for the postal service. i also got a New Orleans Saints shirt, some comfy house shoes, a Dayton Flyers scarf, and a book about Dayton's run to the Elite 8 last season. all in all, not a bad birthday at all.

mom and i went to the sports bar for my birthday this afternoon. when the waitress found out it was my birthday, she asked if i was turning 21. i laughed and noticed the ring on finger and thought to myself, if only... the drinks were a little stiff, which i certainly didn't mind.

now for the sports last night... the Dayton Flyers were due for a stinker. of course, they chose to play that one on national television after getting ranked in the top 25 for the first time this season. they got whipped in every aspect of the game by Davidson last night, 77-60. and quite honestly, it wasn't that close. but, shit happens. they are still 15-3. they play Richmond at home on Saturday night.

while Dayton was playing like shit, the New York Rangers were following right along. to say i was frustrated was an understatement. thankfully, New York came alive in the 3rd period and got the game to OT. and then, this happened:

what a great fucking way to go into the All-Star break. here are the highlights from the whole game:

tonight i'm planning on watching Lucha Underground and American Horror Story. i might watch some hockey as well. and then late tonight, i'm going to catch up on some podcasts while eating some birthday cake.

i also got a haircut today. the barber almost didn't recognize me without my goatee. he then asked how old i was. when i told him i turned 39 today, he was stunned. he remembers when my mother brought me in as a child. now, the funny part of this is this may have been the first time we have spoken outside of how do you want this cut in over a decade. after that, we shot the shit about sports for the next 20 minutes or so.

thankfully, my truck started right up today. i hadn't started it for almost a month. of course, i had to put some air in the tires, but it ran great. that takes a huge burden off of my mind.

ok, that's all for me today. i have some birthday cake waiting for me. thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. i truly do appreciate them.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

a little spring in winter

it got over 50 degrees today. as the guy said on the radio, that probably means we'll have a foot of snow to deal with in March. i, of course, didn't take advantage of the good weather. i've been inside most of today, readying poems for a birthday submission. that's a sure sign that i'm fucked in the head.

last night was a pretty good night of television. Gotham was totally fucking awesome. just when i think that show can't get any better, it does by leaps and bounds. i can't wait for this to come out on DVD or something so i can own it and watch it for every beautiful detail.

the Men in Blazers was pretty funny last night. my mother watched a bit of it as well and was laughing pretty hard at them. i just wish the show was longer. 30 minutes flies by way too quickly.

Monday Night Raw was really good last night. mostly because the veterans were booked great and the surprises truly were the holy shit kind of surprises that reminded me why i love pro wrestling. here are a few clips that made me feel like a child again:

and then Jimmy Fallon reminded me of just how damn hot Jennifer Lopez still is:

i slept pretty good last night. i'm still not happy about waking up around 5 each morning, but i guess i'm just fucking old now. by this time tomorrow, i'll be even older.

tonight will be an interesting one for me. the New York Rangers come on at 7 with their game against Ottawa. and then at 7:30 the Dayton Flyers play at Davidson. so, there's either going to be a ton flipping back and forth or one game will be on mute on the television and the other game will be on the radio. either way, my mom is going to be fucking pissed within 20 minutes. good times.

hopefully i'll be enjoying a couple of victory beers later tonight.

i think in the morning tomorrow i will be emailing some poems out and getting all my mail ready to send. then, i'm hoping my truck starts and i really need to get a fucking haircut. i believe late in the afternoon/early evening, mom is playing on taking me out to eat. i'm guessing sports bar as in all honestly, i'm just a cheap whore.

so, i'm guessing i will be back on here after all that. if not, send a search party.

hard to believe my grandmother would have been 103 today. sadly, she's been somewhere else for the last 22 birthdays.

i highly urge you to read this and share it with anyone and everyone:

that's all for me today. i have to go make dinner as mom is finally trying to take care of her pulled groin. of course, who am i to talk as this pinched nerve or whatever the fuck is ailing me in my left arm isn't getting any better. i suppose the difference is i'm crazy enough to accept the pain and just move on and she isn't. or, maybe i don't want to spend my birthday in a doctor's office. either way, i'm sure you're thinking, just finish this fucker already.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

a holiday Monday

i always laugh at Martin Luther King day here in the USA as i can't help but think nearly half of the people in this country couldn't give a shit about the day at all. that's truly sad, but that's also what happens when a country refuses to have an adult conversation about race. oh well, i can always hope that ignorance will one day be defeated. of course, it's like the cockroach, it will never die.

yesterday was truly a crazy one. from all the sports to the television shows, how i stayed up the entire time is truly a fucking mystery.

the New York Rangers started their game yesterday fast and honestly, never looked back. i absolutely love the way they were the "tired" team but still whipped Pittsburgh yesterday, 5-2. they play again tomorrow night, their final game before the All-Star break. here are the highlights from yesterday:

the hockey game ended right as the Packers vs. Seahawks game was starting. that was one of the crazier playoff games i can remember. i can't believe that Green Bay blew that lead. but, hats off to Seattle for the win. also, for ending the game just in time for me to flip over to the other playoff game. that game between the Colts and Patriots went just about how i thought it would. when i flipped back later and saw the Patriots were up by 31, i knew i didn't need to turn back again. so, the Super Bowl will be between Seattle and New England. i have no clue who i'm going to pick to win it.

the Sunday nights shows were a little hit and miss for me. i liked Girls. i really liked Togetherness. i thought House of Lies was pretty good. Episodes was more miss than hit for me. Total Divas was ok. thankfully, Shameless was fucking excellent last night. i also watched a good portion of the UFC last night. i think i finally ran out of gas sometime around 2 in the morning. so, you can imagine my delight when i was up at 5:45 this morning to take a piss. at least i was able to fall back asleep for a little bit.

mom and i did take a few things over to the new house today. she's trying to decide on what colors she wants in what rooms. i told her not to bother with my room. i have so much shit that needs to be hung on the walls, painting them would be a complete waste of time and money. hopefully she can find some good painters, handymen, etc. she's been burned a few too many times, so she's a little gunshy hiring someone. i can't blame her.

hopefully the ground out here at the farm will dry out in the next few days. there is fucking mud everywhere.

i'm looking forward to my usual clusterfuck on television tonight. i believe there are some NBA games i'll probably flip between. i'm really looking forward to Gotham tonight. that is one of my favorite shows. during commercials i'll flip over to Monday Night Raw. that should be a nice dip in the waters of nostalgia with all the names coming back tonight. and then, i'll try to squeeze in the Men in Blazers sometime tonight. and at some point, i need to eat dinner and take a shower. plus, i'd love to get a few poems down and find a way to cut off my left arm and not feel any pain while doing it. ok, that last line was just to see if you're still reading.

the Dayton Flyers are ranked in the latest AP poll. i think they are at number 22. hopefully they can stay ranked for awhile. they have a really tough game tomorrow at Davidson.

i will most likely be back on here tomorrow afternoon. i hope everyone had a great weekend.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

a dreary Sunday morning

the rain last night was supposed to end up with snow this morning. thankfully, so far (fingers crossed), that hasn't happened. of course, i still have to go out and feed the cats and take out the trash. so, if it's going to happen, i bet i know when it will.

i got some sleep last night. i think a little over 5 hours. i guess some victory beers and just being completely drained is the trick for me.

ROH was excellent last night. i really like where they are going so far in 2015.

Saturday Night Live was pretty good as well. these skits really made me laugh:

i have a ton of dishes to do before the New York Rangers play this afternoon. of course, i may wait in case the game goes bad. it's a good way to get my frustration out at times. but, the iron levels in our water here lately is through the fucking roof, so maybe not. i do hope the Rangers win today. they play at Pittsburgh. it would be nice for them to close the gap in the division.

there are two huge NFL playoff games today. first up is Green Bay at Seattle. then, Indianapolis at New England. i'll take both home teams to make the Super Bowl. i'd love to be wrong, but i'm not feeling it.

after those games will be my usual Sunday night programming. Girls, Togetherness, House of Lies, Episodes, Total Divas, and Shameless. i should definitely be ready to crash after all that.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i get the feeling that mom wants to start moving some things over to the new house. so, i'm thinking that will take up most of my day. i'm sure i'll squeeze something in at some point tomorrow.

hope your weekend finishes up nicely. if you're betting on the games today, best of luck to you. if you lose, take it out on yourself and not others. if you win, feel free to send me some of the glory.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

my long nightmare is over

as soon as the hockey game ended last night, i uttered the following words... thank fucking god, my nightmare is finally over. after waiting for nearly a decade, after seeing them invent ways to lose in Columbus, the New York Rangers finally won in that building with me in attendance. it was a 2-1 win. it should have been 3-1 but the NHL has bad eyesight and can't tell when a puck is struck underneath the crossbar. but, ask any Rangers fan, we already know the NHL doesn't like the team. to the left of me for most of the game was a Rangers fan. she was drinking and was pretty good looking so i thought this was going to be a really good night. of course, then i see a guy bring her another beer that's more or less a meat head. i figure that's her boyfriend and that would leave all the small talk to game and team related shit. sure enough, that's what happened. but, it was a good night. i'll come up with a poem about when she asked me to watch her foam Rangers finger and make sure nothing bad happens to it. i can't imagine where my mind is going to go with that one. here are some highlights from the game:
the Rangers play again tomorrow afternoon at Pittsburgh. i'll be back on here before that game tomorrow.

so, after the game we went to Waffle House. pretty uneventful until i heard our waitress laugh. i described it to my sister as the sound of two dolphins fucking. it's the kind of laugh you will hear in your nightmares or use to strip off paint from a wall. fucking hideous. so, there's another poem i need to write.

my sister gave me my birthday gifts last night, as she won't be able to be here on my birthday (Jan. 21st). she shocked the shit out of me with some Beats headphones and a bottle of rum. that definitely gets the birthday off to a great start.

mom and i got home a little after midnight. i did get to watch most of the new episode of Treehouse Masters.

as i was having my victory beer i decided to take 2 pain pills to help me sleep. i know, i know, i shouldn't mix drugs and alcohol. i only got around 3 hours of sleep anyway, so whatever ills might have come to me, they unfortunately didn't.

i got up this morning and immediately had a cramp in my left leg. that's a sure fire way to wake up pissed off. thankfully, the cramp didn't last long. i checked my emails, made a little breakfast, fed the cats way earlier than usual, and got ready to watch at least some of the Manchester United game.

Manchester United had a boring ass first half against QPR. too many fucking turnovers and not enough chances. thankfully, they did a little better in the second half. Fellaini scored before i had to leave the house. i found out in the car on the way to the basketball game that James Wilson scored late for a 2-0 win. here are some highlights from the game:
it was ugly, but i'll gladly take the 3 points and a victory beer.

we got to the Dayton Flyers game way later than we normally do. we had to park way back in section c, instead of the handicapped parking. mom is having a hard time walking with her pulled groin muscle, so that was a fun walk. at least the weather was really fucking nice for this time in January. i was very happy to get in the arena and see the student section packed. as much as they have tried to turn the school into a school for nerds, this team is keeping them coming out in droves. the opponent today was Saint Louis. they fucking suck and everyone knows that. i knew this was going to be an ugly game and Saint Louis made damn sure it was. no flow at all. of course, Dayton played along by missing too many threes and fucking free throws. but, once again, Dayton proved to be a great second half team. they took a 5 point lead at halftime and turned that into a 16 point win, 61-45. here are some highlights from the game:

after the game was over, mom and i went out to eat. both of us were pretty fucking drained from two sporting events in under 20 hours. plus, with the way my arm feels, driving has been a fucking pleasure beyond belief. nothing quite like having your left arm start throbbing as you are trying to pass semis on the highway at 90 m.p.h. good times.

after a stop by the post office, we came back to the farm. thankfully, a good portion of the ice has melted from today's sunshine. that should make walking out here a little easier.

i have one more victory beer coming to me tonight. i'll drink that while watching Saturday Night Live and ROH late tonight. in the meantime, i see some dinner, some college basketball and hopefully a nap in my future.

i hope everyone is having a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

my crazy weekend begins now

and since i'm going to be running crazy for the next few days, i didn't sleep worth a shit last night. i tried to actually sleep in my bed and that lasted no more than 30 minutes. i have to basically numb my left arm to get any rest at all. that's fun. so, when i'm sitting at a hockey game tonight, unable to numb that arm, it's going to be really interesting. hopefully the New York Rangers play well so i have some adrenaline pumping. if they play like the last two games, i'm going to be fucking miserable.

before i get to the details of another Rangers loss... the trip to the grocery store. mom wanted to go early in the afternoon. of course, that didn't happen as she had much more work than she thought to get done. so, we left late in the afternoon. more like early evening. we had to get the paper and mail and check the new house for mail as well. we got to the store and i'm planning on how we can get in and out of this place and get back home in time for the game. after waiting for almost 20 minutes to get her medicine, i knew any chance of getting home in time was gone. so, i basically turned it into a chance to do some people watching. i noticed plenty of women wearing stretch pants in the store. not a good look for everyone. but, for the ones that it is, i thank you. i did write a poem about it late last night. i'll hopefully be sending that out soon in another submission. i typed it up this morning and it's a good one. we got what we came for and a few other things and got back home a little after the game started.

of course, by the time i turned the game on, the Rangers were already losing. the game was on the NHL Network and they were using the Boston announcers. needless to say, i'd rather brush my teeth with a shotgun than listen to those fucking clowns, so most of the game was on mute. that didn't help much as the Rangers once again couldn't do much of anything against a good team. yet another 3-0 loss. as much as i want for them to win tonight while i'm in attendance, i really hope they just fucking score. The King will be in goal tonight for the Rangers. he wasn't last night nor the other game the Rangers played in Columbus.

so after the game and a quick bite to eat, we have to get back home and more or less get right to bed. that of course won't happen, but in a perfect world it would. we have a college basketball game (Dayton vs. St. Louis) at 12:30 on Saturday afternoon. the game is on national television, so it's going to be a full house. mom wants to take some clothes to the charity we drop our clothes off to before we go to the game. to toss in more of a clusterfuck, Manchester United plays at 10 in the morning. so the next time i will be on here will be sometime Saturday afternoon or early evening.

i'm thinking i may have to give in and take some strong shit for my arm this weekend. that should make for some fun.

i'm going to miss the debut of NJPW on AXS TV tonight. i'm hoping they put some of it on YouTube but i'm not holding my breath. hopefully i'll get to watch it next week. i'm guessing i'll catch Treehouse Masters late tonight as i'm struggling to fall asleep.

on the bright side, it's starting to warm up a little out here. of course, it's still slicker than shit in the lane, but hopefully that changes. if it doesn't, taking the trash down will be a fucking adventure.

so, i hope everyone has a great weekend. love the one you're with or have enough money to love the one you want. and i'd suggest getting your birthday cards to me in the mail soon. not that i'm expecting you to get me anything (HINT, HINT). most of all, have a safe, fun weekend.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
