a sleepy weekend in the shade

here are your links for national poetry month:

today has been one of my lazy days. not that i haven't done things. did a couple loads of laundry for my mother, got the paper and mail in town. it's just the weather is so damn nice that all i have the energy to do is eat a little candy and sleep in my chair.

mom hasn't felt dizzy since the surgery so she is very happy about that. she's worried that she stills hears sounds in her ear that shouldn't be there. i tell her to not worry about it, just let the body rest and heal, but what the fuck do i know... i told her the bright side of losing all her hearing in her left ear is she won't hear me as well when i yell at the basketball games. i sit on her left at the games.

the New York Yankees got out to a nice lead last night and i felt good. and then, the bullpen shit the bed and somehow 4-0 became a 11-5 loss. ouch. they play again tonight. hopefully they can get back to their winning ways.

been flipping between soccer, playoff hockey and playoff basketball today. rinse and repeat for tomorrow as well.

i'm hoping i will be awake for ROH this evening. i believe it is on after the Ten Commandments. there's a poem there i believe.

i'll probably do another post in the morning tomorrow as around 11 am my day gets crazy. Manchester United plays in the morning and the New York Rangers play game 2 of their series at noon. plus, it's Easter and it's also the day to pick up the trash and recyclables. there's a poem there as well.

hope everyone is having a great weekend. enjoy the candy. be well. be creative. be the shining light hiding the train.

peace...

surviving modern healthcare

before i get into just how LONG my day was yesterday, here are your national poetry month links:

so we got to the hospital around 11 am, seeing they wanted us there at 11:15. mom and i go back as my sister waited in the waiting area. about 30 minutes later, my sister is allowed to come back. they had to stick my mom 3 times to get an i.v. started. i wasn't happy about that. then, the 1:15 surgery was pushed back to 2 pm. then, it was pushed back to 3 pm. needless to say, i'm at the point where i could murder everyone. my mother finally goes into surgery a little after 3 and my sister and i finally get to eat some lunch. now i have to admit, lunch was about 10000000000000000000000% better than i thought it was going to be. around 4:30, the surgeon tells my sister and i that mom's surgery went great. they saw everything they thought they were going to see and he was really happy with the results. that was a huge load off of my mind. but, given that my mother is a goody two shoes who doesn't abuse drugs or alcohol, EVER, i figured she was going to take forever to come back to reality. sure enough, around 7:15 we were allowed to go back and see her. i could tell that she was still loopy. but, after a good 45 minutes of talking to her and joking, she started to act like herself again. my sister helped her get dressed as i went to get the car. i needed that long walk to wake my damn legs back up. now, we had 3 prescriptions that needed to be filled and the pharmacy we use is about 45 minutes away from this hospital. so, i did my best to drive cautiously/aggressively and not get my mom sick/upset in the backseat. we got the prescriptions in and then went to get some dinner. i got mom a plain cheeseburger, which she said was so much better than the stale crackers and flat ginger ale she had at the hospital. we went back to the pharmacy and they had just finished my mom's order when i got up to the cash register. that made me extremely happy. we ended up getting home nearly 11 1/2 hours after we left.

thankfully, my sister let me know on the way home that the Yankees were winning and the New York Rangers had won. that made me even more happy. i definitely needed some victory beers.

Yankees won 10-2. Rangers won 4-1. i at least got to see the highlights when i got home.

mom is doing ok today. she's sore but isn't dizzy or feeling like she's going to puke. so, that's a good first step. the pain pills are knocking her out pretty good. she'll have to take it extremely easy for the next few weeks. the shunt should be settled in and doing its' job by then. so, i'll be her little slave for the time being. i don't mind that at all. even though i told her if she died in the surgery her life insurance would kick in for my sister and i. she knew i was joking though. sure, i was joking....

not sure what the family is going to watch tonight. i get the feeling i will be in my room flipping between playoff hockey and the Yankees game.

on top of all that yesterday, i also wrote 6 poems during my hours at the hospital. i typed them up at 2 this morning. they are short and pretty good. i'll be sending those out in the next week or so.

no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. kind of depends on how my mom is doing and the sports schedule. i'll try to bust something out before i pass out.

hope this finds everyone well. have a great weekend. and thanks for all the kind thoughts and well wishes for my mother. she really appreciated it.

before i lose my mind

decided i would bust out a quick one this morning before i get too busy. get your minds out of the gutter. i did that before i went to bed. here are your national poetry month links:

http://www.bu.edu/today/2014/paul-muldoon-headlines-bu-lowell-memorial-poetry-reading-tonight/

http://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/books/ck-williams-on-his-foray-into-prose-poetry/2014/04/16/0c41e3f4-c570-11e3-8b9a-8e0977a24aeb_story.html

the New York Yankees won game 2 of the doubleheader last night 2-0. if only we could play the Cubs every game. the home stand is now over and they are off to that dump in Tampa. and CC usually pitches like shit there, so i don't know how much i will be watching.

i did catch a good portion of the NHL playoff games last night. always a stressing sign when the first game goes into overtime. it would be cool if i didn't have a dog in the race. the New York Rangers begin their quest for another Stanley Cup in my lifetime tonight against the Flyers. first time they have met in the playoffs since 1997. fuck i feel old. they have to play their backup goalie tonight, so i'm hoping the Rangers take advantage of it. hopefully i will get to watch all of it.

i did catch Legit and Ali G. last night. both were really fucking funny.

my sister made it down last night. i've had my 4 or so hours of sleep. now it's time to feed the cats, then myself, hopefully take a stress free shit and then drive the family to the hospital. they believe mom's surgery will be at least 2 hours. all i want is for it to be done right and hopefully they are no surprises or complications.

i will be sure to update the situation in tomorrow's blog.

that's all for me kids. sorry for interrupting your morning breakfast with my usual drivel. go back to watching porn on your phones now.

just in case we need to stress eat...

been a busy fucking day, but i didn't forget about your links for national poetry month. enjoy:

i didn't get to see the gem Tanaka threw for the Yankees this afternoon as i was busy with my mother at the store. we bought a shitload of food. with my mother's surgery tomorrow and Easter weekend coming up, i told mom all of this was in case there was going to be some stress eating going on. my sister is coming down, so we made sure to get some stuff she (hopefully) will like.

the Yankees won 3-0 this afternoon to take game 1 of the doubleheader against the Cubs. that victory beer is gone. hopefully they win game 2 tonight.

the NHL playoffs start tonight and i'll be in and out of those games. now, if one happens to go into overtime, then it becomes must see television.

last night, i did catch all of The Voice. i believe Usher made the right picks for his 3 going to the live shows. that means i had 11 of the 12 picked correctly for the live shows. the live shows start next week.

also starting next week is Deadliest Catch. not sure how i'm going to fit everything in on my Tuesday nights.

after the sitcoms after The Voice, i did check out the show Fargo on FX. holy shit, what a creepy, strange, totally fucking funny first show. i'll definitely have to add that to the rotation.

tonight i'm going to try to sneak in Legit and Ali G. around some sports. or, i'll just not get any sleep. i doubt i will be sleeping well tonight anyway with what is coming tomorrow.

my mother is having surgery to put a shunt in her ear to hopefully drain fliud that has been collecting in her inner ear. or something like that. she's been dizzy and feeling nausea for months now. i'm really fucking hoping this does the trick. now, the scary shit is she could lose all of her hearing in the ear. but, she's willing to take the chance and she's got the best in the state doing the surgery. so, i'll feign as much confidence as i need to. god willing, this will work and she'll start living a somewhat normal life again.

so, not really sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. maybe early in the morning before i take her to the hospital. maybe late afternoon when we get back home. maybe right before the New York Rangers start their playoff series. or, maybe at 2 in the morning when i finally get to take a breath. not sure... but i do plan on putting something out tomorrow.

hope this finds everyone well. keep the family in your thoughts. i do appreciate it.

peace and chicken grease bitches...

nothing like waking up to snow in spring

it's been freezing all day long, so i've got a few more links to share for your national poetry month goodies:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/style-blog/wp/2014/04/15/edward-hirsch-upcoming-guest-in-the-life-of-a-poet-series/

http://www.autostraddle.com/national-poetry-month-denice-frohman-slams-down-oppression-with-survival-poetry-233592/

http://www.theguardian.com/books/2014/apr/15/music-at-midnight-life-poetry-george-herbert-review

we didn't get much snow, probably around an inch or so, but fuck, it was 80 degrees two days ago. fucking crazy. and two days from now it's supposed to be back in the 60's. that's why i tell any doctor to move to Ohio. everyone gets sick every few days.

found out when my mother's surgery is on Thursday. not too early and we should be home at a decent hour. that's all music to my ears so far.

i did catch Monday Night Raw last night. i thought it was a good mix of tribute to the Ultimate Warrior and action as well. not sure if i like Evolution coming back or not. i suppose if they do it correctly, it could work in giving the younger guys the legit feel to the fans that still think it's real.

i also caught most of The Voice last night. team Shakira and Adam had to be whittled down to 3 each last night. i think Shakira picked the right 3 but as usual, Adam did not. he still hasn't figured out after all these seasons that one trick ponies don't last when America starts voting. team Usher goes tonight and next week starts the live shows i do believe.

since the Yankees are rained out tonight (day night doubleheader tomorrow), i figure after the sitcoms after The Voice i will be checking out Fargo on FX. it looks really good.

my chair got fixed today. took the guy less than 20 minutes. just a bad bolt that needed to be replaced. i really appreciated it as i had a wonderful nap in it this afternoon.

the NHL playoffs start tomorrow for some teams. the New York Rangers start on Thursday. thank god i don't believe in getting good sleep. plus, say goodbye to shaving. nothing quite like mowing grass in the heat with a big filthy beard because your hockey team has gone on a deep playoff run. good times.

hope this finds everyone well. sorry no pictures of the snow. by the time i got outside most of it had melted. especially right around the house and the flowers. so much for that moment of creativity.

i'll be on here tomorrow between baseball games. be well my bitches...

today has been a pretty sad day. as much as i am a fan of death, i am really a fan of people dying that i don't like or admire. now, when it's someone old, i get it, it's time. but when someone passes before their 70's, it really hits me. so, when i heard today that Otto Petersen died at 53, i was gutted. and if you don't know who Otto is, shame on you for not being in the know of great comedians. do yourself a favor and look up Otto & George and laugh your ass off.

i've spent most of today listening to music and watching old videos.

the Yankees won last night 3-2, to take 3 of 4 from the Red Sox.

the Sunday night shows were excellent and i actually made it through all of them.

tonight will be the Ultimate Warrior tribute episode of Monday Night Raw and The Voice.

the weather has been on this slow decline today. it was damn near 80 yesterday and by tonight it will be in the 20's. hopefully the cats will be thankful that i closed up the 2 stalls they use.

i'll be on here tomorrow, hopefully in a better mood.

be well my enemies...

the winds of hell

hello again kids. here are 2 links for your national poetry month goodies:

http://www.southbendtribune.com/entertainment/inthebend/entertainmentnews/guerrero-aims-to-use-poetry-for-social-change/article_29adff20-c2f2-11e3-94a3-001a4bcf6878.html

i'm still trying to figure out why it is windy every time i put out trash? hopefully, i have enough weight in the cans so they won't tip over. sadly, i doubt any of the other fuckers out here care. i've already been picking up trash today that has blown up to the house. i'm 1/4 mile back from the road. fucking ridiculous.

the New York Rangers lost last night 1-0 in OT on a penalty shot. one of the worst officiated games i have seen in awhile. that being said, the penalty shot was a legit call. the playoffs start on Thursday for the Rangers at home against Philadelphia. here's hoping i won't be shaving for a few months.

i watched the first half hour or so of Saturday Night Live before i fell asleep. i'm blaming Ed Sheeran for putting me to sleep this time. at least from what i read, i got to see the good parts of the show. i need a damn DVR.

i have no clue how i'm going to stay up tonight, but here's the shows i'm going to try to watch: Nurse Jackie, Californication, Veep, Silicon Valley, Years of Living Dangerously, and Total Divas. if i manage to see all of them and stay awake while doing it, i'll be fucking shocked.

another great day of weather here that is about to go shitty. there's a chance of SNOW tomorrow night. when i saw that on the news last night, the only thing i could think to say was jesus fucking christ. i've got some flowers that have popped up. if it does snow, i'm hoping to get a picture of them in full bloom in the snow. pure craziness.

the New York Yankees play tonight on ESPN. i truly doubt i will be watching any of that given all the shows that are on tonight. probably a game i'll follow on the tablet.

i don't have a great feeling about my fantasy hockey team on the final day of the season. looks like i'll be finishing second once again. i'll know for sure tomorrow morning. but, i've been doing this long enough to know, some deficits are too large for fucking miracles.

that's all for me today kids. i need to go get some water, which should be a real fucking joy in this wind. i'll be on here sometime tomorrow. not real sure when. my mother is having surgery later in the week, so this coming week is going to be by the seat of my pants i feel.

later my enemies. be well.

the start of a busy weekend

to change it up a bit today, here is a video for your national poetry month goodies:

had a really busy morning. had to drive my mother out to her bank which is one city over to the west. of course, my bank is one city over to the east. so after making that drive, it's a trip to the tractor supply store to get cat food and kitty litter. it's cheaper there, don't ask. then a trip to the grocery store that turned into a marathon of using coupons before they expired. so, just a few items became a full damn cart. now, keep in mind that i had to shit somewhere in the drive from my mother's bank to my bank. plus, i still needed to pick up the mail. and, i wanted to get home by noon to watch ROH. we left the grocery store at 11:50. i was pretty happy with myself that i was in the house by 10 minutes after noon. considering the post office was a mad rush of fucking procrastinators, i'm fucking amazed we got back home when we did. and if you're wondering, by 12:15 i was on the toilet letting loose something that someone might call shit, but i believe it was some evil brown liquid that had invaded me. good times.

ROH was good. always nice to see a heel turn as Jay Lethal is the new tv champion and a part of the House of Truth. this heel turn should allow Jay to give some great promos. good stuff.

the New York Yankees lost last night 4-2. CC made 2 damn mistakes and they both ended up in the seats. but today, the Bronx Bombers showed up as the Yankees hit 5 home runs to win 7-4. that's more like it. that victory beer is already gone.

the New York Rangers play their final game of the regular season tonight in Montreal. i might watch bits and pieces of it, but mostly for fantasy hockey implications. of course, i will be drinking if they win.

Saturday Night Live is new tonight. hopefully i am awake to see it. after i took my shower last night i fell asleep before 11:30. i woke up at 1 in the chair wondering what the fuck happened. must have been the wine i had with dinner. i told my mother today while driving if i was a raging alcoholic i'd probably get the 7 or 8 hours of sleep i should be getting each night.

the weather today has been amazing. mid 70's, hardly any humidity, damn near PERFECT. i've got the house opened up, finally airing it out from that shitty winter. and amazingly, it didn't rain today. thank god.

that's all for me kids. i'm going to go fuck around and see if i can come up with some t-shirt ideas for this blog, the book, etc. etc. i'll be on here tomorrow, probably in the early afternoon so i can sleep the rest of afternoon watching golf.

hope this finds everyone well. until tomorrow my enemies.

i could use a nap...

before i get to my angry day, here are 3 links for national poetry month. enjoy.

http://www.news-press.com/story/entertainment/2014/04/11/poetry-posters/7551325/

http://www.newsworks.org/index.php/local/item/66795-the-meter-will-be-running-for-philly-poetry-day

http://www.npr.org/blogs/ablogsupreme/2014/04/11/301435058/5-points-where-poetry-meets-jazz

we had some rain overnight and my genius ass forgot to turn the furnace back on before i went to bed. so, i woke up cold and achy as fuck this morning. i was hoping the 2 victory beers i had before bed were going to ease that pain. guess not.

the New York Rangers won 2-1 last night over Buffalo. in doing so, they clinched second place in the division and home ice for the first round of the playoffs. they won it late, so i was pretty fucking happy.

the New York Yankees won 4-1 last night, but the only thing anyone wanted to talk about was the substance on Pineda's hand last night. i know damn well why the Red Sox didn't say anything as everyone of their pitchers do the same damn thing. but, since it was a Yankee pitcher that had it, all hell breaks loose. i love when sports journalism now has become every asshole on Twitter is a reporter. apparently, these assholes have forgotten a very important life rule. if you're not cheating you're not trying. and if anyone actually thinks they are above that statement, enjoy your life as a fucking fool. the Yankees play again tonight. hopefully they "cheat" and beat the fucking Red Sox again.

tonight is basically make or break for my fantasy hockey team. nothing i am trying is really working and i only have 4 moves left to make. i really wish i had about 20. granted, my team has had 5 fucking injuries in the last week and my opponent has had none... but i really hate the feeling that i'm getting close to realizing i did everything i could for the last 6 months to only finish second once again.

so, with that anger in me this afternoon, i decided to do a little writing. i did bust out 3 poems that i really like. i typed them up before i started to write this. i'll probably send them out later in the month.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty fucking funny last night.

not sure what i'm going to watch tonight other than sports. maybe i'll throw a little pro wrestling into the mix of hockey and baseball tonight. maybe a little Aerial America as well. who knows. when i get bored the remote gets abused.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone has a great weekend. there's no Manchester United this weekend (thank god) so i'll be on here in the afternoon after the Yankees afternoon game. of course, if it is like the usual game against the Red Sox, i'll be on here in the evening. plus, hopefully i'll have a bank story to share.

be well. be creative. be drunk. be thrifty. be cool. be...

peace bitches...

it is starting to look like spring...

here are your 2 links for national poetry month:

it actually feels like spring today. it's around 70 degrees with hardly any clouds at all. the only problem is the damn wind. at least 20 mph at all times, gusting to over 50 mph. fuck me. i'm waiting for more pieces of the barns to fly off. just great.

the New York Yankees lost last night, 5-4. Tanaka got off to a rough start but settled down to strike out 10. the Yankees wasted that start as it was 3-3 going into the 9th. and this is where it sucks when your closer in on the disabled list. his replacement gives up 2 runs and they could only get 1 in the bottom half of the inning. another series lost. not a good trend to start early in the season. next up is 4 with the fucking Red Sox starting tonight.

also tonight, the New York Rangers play their final home game against Buffalo. hopefully they close out the home schedule with a win.

also tonight is a new episode of The Big Bang Theory. looks like a busy night for the remote control.

i didn't go to the bank today as i spent most of the morning helping my mother. she's having some back problems and as someone with a horrific back, i know how painful that can be. she wants me to go with her to the bank on Saturday. i figured i would play the good son today. of course, it's going to be raining Saturday morning... i suppose i will have to keep my mouth shut with the 'i told you so' when it comes to the weather.

so, today was a few hours of iTunes and porn. interesting as always. as you'll be able to tell below, i was once again all over the fucking map.

i'm officially at the panic stage with my fantasy hockey finals. i'm adding players from teams i absolutely hate in hopes they can help change my fortunes. i just really need one good night or one night where my opponent shits the bed. i have a plan in my mind for the weekend games. of course, another bad night and that will be out the window as well.

i might do some writing tonight as i have some words floating around my brain. i'll keep you posted...

that's all for me today kids. enjoy the insanity below. be well and i'll be back on here sometime tomorrow. maybe after typing up some poems...

say hello to death

here are your 2 links for national poetry month:

http://www.nj.com/hunterdon-county-democrat/index.ssf/2014/04/the_flying_kiwi_poetry_squad_l.html

http://www.bestofneworleans.com/blogofneworleans/archives/2014/04/08/on-april-18-pizza-comes-with-poetry

i was blindsided by the news of the Ultimate Warrior's death. having just seen him over the weekend during WrestleMania and then seeing him the next night on Monday Night Raw, to read on Tuesday night that he was dead was a total fucking shock. and then, you listen back to what he said on Raw and it gets really creepy:

the New York Rangers won last night 4-1. after giving up the first goal, i thought they played a really good game. and it was so nice to see the power play score again. last home game of the season is tomorrow night.

Manchester United lost today 3-1. i was so fucking pumped when they scored the first goal of the game. a beauty of a goal from Evra. but, seeing this is the season from hell, the great job they did on defense in the first half went right out the fucking window when they scored. 70 seconds later, Bayern scores and the floodgates open. you could tell Rooney was not 100% or even close to it as he completely blew 2 chances to score. so, no titles this year at all and no Champions League next season. as i feared when Moyes was selected to replace Sir Alex, we have now become MEDIOCRE. and i hate losing too fucking much to settle for mediocre. hopefully the fucks that run the club feel the same.

the New York Yankees play tonight after that debacle yesterday. it's Tanaka's first home game, so it should be nuts. hopefully he pitches well and the team wins. i need a victory beer after today.

The Voice last night was the start of the playoffs. team Blake performed and he had to cut the team down from 5 to 3. i believe he made the right choices. the 3 he kept are really good. can't wait until next week to see how the other teams do.

after the baseball tonight i'll be watching Legit and Ali G. and hopefully laughing away the pain of today.

that's all for me kids. i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the bank and probably a few hours of porn.

peace...

one of those days

before i get into how bad the Yankees were today, here are 3 links for your national poetry month goodies:

http://www.theatlantic.com/education/archive/2014/04/why-teaching-poetry-is-so-important/360346/

http://www.buffalonews.com/life-arts/book-poetry/burchfield-penney-poetry-festival-to-feature-ishmael-reed-dozens-of-readings-and-performances-20140407

the Yankees were horrific today. not the right day to have some really bad pitching when the offense is actually making solid contact. oh well. when you lose 14-5, it is really easy to just turn the page. they play again tomorrow night. hopefully they can win and win the series.

much like i predicted yesterday, around 9 or so last night, i fell asleep. i woke up around 11 wondering what the fuck happened. thankfully, both The Voice and WWE updates YouTube pretty quickly. so, by midnight or so, i was able to view what i did miss.

on Monday Night Raw, i was thrilled to see the new faces are showing up. Paige is going to be a huge star. and putting Cesaro with Paul Heyman is pure brilliance. also, having The Shield come to the aid of Daniel Bryan sets up some classic stable vs. stable action that was a huge part of the attitude era. now, if only that crowd could be at each Raw...

as for The Voice, none of the performances last night blew me away. i'm not sure what's going to be on the show tonight, but, i should be awake to see it.

the New York Rangers are in the playoffs now, thank you Calgary, so i'm not sure how much emphasis they are going to put on the game tonight against Carolina. i'd love to see them win and get that home ice for the first round, but that's mostly because i love to drink. they are so much better on the road, i don't think it will kill them either way. i'm just happy i'll be growing a playoff beard once again.

since the Yankees did suck right out of the blocks today, that gave me plenty of time to clean the toilets, vacuum, take out the trash, etc. mom should be pleased when she gets home.

i did catch a few minutes of the national championship game last night. good for UConn. that's a nice way to bookend your college career. win as a freshman and then as a senior.

other than that, i watched a woman fuck her husband with a strap-on today. that was a better way to pass the afternoon than watching baseball.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime after the Manchester United game in Germany. if they somehow pull off that miracle, i will be drunker than shit while i'm typing.

be well my enemies. be creative, be chilled, be naked, be the change in the pocket of a rich fool in the hills of California...

burning the candle at both ends my friends

before i wonder you with my sometime ability to never sleep, here are a couple of links for your national poetry month goodies:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/zola-books-/7-poetry-collections-for-_b_5087015.html

http://wlrn.org/post/miserable-road-poetry-i-95

well, as i warned all of you yesterday, if i managed to stay up all night this post was going to be a lengthy fucker. buckle up kids.

WrestleMania was really good last night. a few things really stood out. first off, the opening was amazing. to have The Rock, Stone Cold, and Hulk Hogan all in the ring at the same time was fucking awesome. then, the HHH vs. Daniel Bryan match was some of the best storytelling in years. a great match. the next thing that stood out was Cesaro picking up The Big Show and slamming him with ease over the top rope to win the battle royal. that was a true HOLY SHIT moment. i didn't exactly care for the way the Cena vs. Bray Wyatt match was booked. Cena should have lost. that would have been much more interesting. and hats off to Bray for carrying that prick the entire match. the Divas match was a yawn fest. i think i am still stunned that the Undertaker actually lost. it was the first i ever remember him actually looking his age. but, from everything i have read, it was his call to have Brock Lesnar end the streak. the views from the crowd were amazing. they were just as shocked as i was. the final match between Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, and Batista was pretty damn good. and it ended the way it should have. with Daniel Bryan finally getting his moment in the sun. not bad for a guy i once saw wrestle in front of 30 people or so. i'm not sure i can convince my mother it was worth the money, but i did enjoy it.

as for the Sunday night shows, i was pretty damn pleased. Shameless is always good for a memorable season finale. last night was no difference. and the very end of the episode got me really excited for next season. one of the best shows around. House of Lies once again takes itself so seriously that it is painfully funny. that finale was ok, but i am truly not invested in the show. Veep has always been able to make me laugh. one, i enjoy politics. two, that cast is a fucking riot. and i did watch Silicon Valley. i believe they have another winner. that show is so damn funny. i called my sister today to tell her to put it on her DVR. with all the tech talk and cocky programmers, etc., it is truly right up my sister's alley given her occupation.

after getting done with all that, i did the dishes and re-watched a good portion of WrestleMania again. i might have got to bed around 4 in the morning.

then, up around 7:30 as my back was killing me. i looked out the window and saw the clouds. fuck, more rain. and that is what it has done for most of the day. just fucking rain.

thankfully, the New York Yankees had their home opener today to keep my mind off of the weather. the Yankees won 4-2. good pitching, some timely hitting, all in all, i can't complain. hopefully when the weather warms up this team will have some power. of course, it could be 1996 all over again. i wouldn't mind that either. another day game tomorrow against the Orioles. hopefully, another afternoon with a victory beer.

after i get done typing this drivel, i'm planning on hoping in the shower and get my youthful weekend off of me.

tonight, it's the usual battle between The Voice and Monday Night Raw. plus, the national championship game in college basketball. Raw will get most of my attention, mostly because the t-shirts i ordered from the WWE came today and i feel like i need to be truly more invested in it. i will sneak plenty of looks at The Voice, as music will always be my mistress. as for the basketball game, i might watch if it stays close near the end. i don't have money on the game and i didn't pick either of these teams in my brackets, so i'm just a passive observer this evening. i might also take a peek at some hockey games. the Rangers can clinch a playoff berth tonight if the Devils lose. plus, i have entered the panic stage in my fantasy hockey finals. so, i'm making drastic decisions in hopes that i can turn this around quickly. hard to believe this is the last week of the season.

that's all for me kids. i'm sure sometime tonight i'll be snoring in the chair, father time finally catching up on me. until then, let the show keep on rolling. hope this finds everyone well. hopefully the weather is better in your neck of the woods than this dreary shit i have going on here at the farm.

until tomorrow, hopefully after another Yankees win...

peace and chicken grease bitches...

back to my childhood

first off today kids, here's a couple links for your national poetry month goodies:

http://azstarnet.com/news/local/article_a7b7d0f7-6450-556e-8502-14555f5342f1.html

http://www.miamiherald.com/2014/04/06/4042563/poetry-lovers-flock-to-park.html

and a big thank you to Janne Karlsson for the magic he can do with the random shit i spew in this blog

i did watch both basketball games last night in the Final Four. i didn't see the UConn win coming at all. i did see the Kentucky win coming though. thankfully. i think Kentucky is going to win it all. UConn is too good of a story to win it. Kentucky is what is absolutely wrong with college basketball, which is why i see them winning. it gives assholes something to bitch about for months to come.

the last game got over in time for Saturday Night Live. but, to be honest, i didn't really give a shit about SNL as soon as Austin City Limits started on PBS. i never pass up any chance to see Nine Inch Nails perform. that was great as was the few bits i saw on Saturday Night Live.

the New York Rangers lost last night, 3-2. part running into a goalie standing on his head and part shitty officiating. the NHL has a habit of swallowing the whistle when it gets close to playoff time. which helps the dirty fuckers around the league. yes, i'm talking to you Chris Neil. i really can't wait for the day when you're a bloody mess laying on the ice wondering what week it is. karma is one nasty bastard. just remember that.

the New York Yankees won today, 6-4. CC pitched good enough and the bats did just enough, like hitting their first HR of the season. i'm still getting used to not having the hammer of god closing these games out. the high anxiety will either make the victory beer sweeter or i'm going to spend more time on the toilet.

tonight is jam packed for me. the Sunday night shows; Shameless, House of Lies, Silicon Valley, and Veep will all have to be squeezed in after i get done watching WrestleMania 30. hard to believe i've seen all of them. i am really looking forward to this one. if Daniel Bryan isn't the big winner after this ppv, it may be the first time in my life where i will seriously consider giving up this shit. and i'm not really sure what's going to happen as i know the McMahon family, including HHH, loves to just fuck with the audience as much as possible.

so, it's going to be a late one tonight. thank god i rarely sleep anymore. it's mostly cat naps more than anything. amazing the great sleep you can get watching European soccer with two teams you couldn't give a shit about.

so tomorrow's blog, if i make it through everything tonight, will be a lengthy fucker. also, the Yankees have their home opener. so, toss that on to the fire as well.

hope everyone is doing well. enjoy what is left of your weekend. and i'll be on here late afternoon with more of my filth.

peace and chicken grease fuckers....

at least the sun still exists

here are today's links for national poetry month:

http://www.theguardian.com/books/2014/apr/06/john-cooper-clarke-poetry-bard-salford

http://www.tampabay.com/news/humaninterest/at-89-ybor-native-crafts-book-of-poetry/2173548

i woke up this morning with a knot in my back the size of a basketball. it hasn't got much better. and on top of that, i got the shits this morning as well. these are the days when i know i'm being punished for ignoring the 8 year old me that wanted to die.

the New York Yankees won last night 7-3. Tanaka pitched well once he got over his nerves and the offense came through in big spots. of course, the first injury of the season also happened. and it had to be at the spot where they have no depth, first base. fuck. so, this afternoon the Yankees go out and lose 4-0. Pineda pitched well enough to win. the offense was lost for most of the day and couldn't get a hit when it mattered. the one time they did instant replay fucked that up for them. why have the shit if you still can't get the calls right? anywho, another day game tomorrow which will start my jam packed Sunday.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Ottawa. if they win, they clinch a playoff spot. so, i'll be a little jacked up for tonight's game.

thankfully, i was able to watch ROH today at noon. another great episode with amazing matches. Hero defeated Strong and the Young Bucks beat Red Dragon for the tag team titles. if you have a chance to catch the episode, do so.

i believe Saturday Night Live is new tonight. after that airs, i'm thinking i'm going to try to sleep for more than 6 hours for a change.

Manchester United used a GREAT game from Juan Mata today to destroy Newcastle 4-0. Mata scored 2 with Chicharito and Januzaj getting the other 2. that should give the team some good momentum heading into a must win game in Germany on Wednesday. i won't think about that game until then. instead, i will enjoy this victroy beer.

i do plan on watching the Final Four tonight although i'm sure i'll be thinking what if since Dayton got so close this year.

today is kind of sad as i think back 20 years ago. Kurt Cobain had a huge influence on my writing, my musical tastes, the way i dressed, how i smoked my cigarettes, and how badly i wanted to try heroin. fast forward to today and i no longer smoke, still haven't tried heroin, but will still bust out a flannel now and then. yet, that music still resonates with me and my writing. and i still remember exactly where i was when i got the news. i remember the tears and the song. the Trotwood, Ohio library parking lot and the song was Come As You Are.

maybe i'll do a little writing tonight.

that's all for me kids. be well and i will be on here sometime tomorrow, hopefully after a Yankees victory.

i sent out 10 poems today, 5 each to My Favorite Bullet and The Blind Vigil Revue. when i hear back from these places i'll pass along the verdicts.

another painful day on the farm with all this fucking rain and wind, let alone another injury to my fantasy hockey team.

the New York Rangers lost in a shootout last night after they tried to sit on a 2-1 lead in the 3rd period last night. at least they are one point closer to the playoffs now. hopefully Washington loses in regulation tonight and the rest of the season can be about getting healthy.

the New York Yankees FINALLY won last night, 4-2. was happy to see the 26 year old rookie (Solarte) come through huge with his first start. hopefully Joe is smart enough to keep playing him. tonight they are in Toronto. the first MLB start for Masahiro Tanaka. given the media attention on this one, if this kid throws a gem i will be overfuckingjoyed. he's been the real deal so far.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty damn funny last night.

i'm going to try to remember to watch Vice tonight as Sunday is going to be a little crazy.

the winds here today have been crazy. the internet has been running slower than shit. that made iTunes a ton of fun this afternoon.

oh well, hope everyone is looking forward to a great weekend. i'll be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the morning. hopefully drinking a victory beer.

as usual, i listened to a shit load of music today given that i spent most of the afternoon typing. enjoy.

a lull in the monsoon

before i start bitching about how the rain and my scar tissue just don't mix, here is your national poetry month link of the day:

http://www.slate.com/blogs/future_tense/2014/04/02/mathematical_poetry_month_let_s_make_it_happen_this_april.html

we probably got around an inch or more of rain this morning. and not the slow, constant rain that farm fields really enjoy. this was a pounding rain with some thunder. needless to say, i have been in misery for most of the day. haven't gone for the pain pills just yet, but i'm close.

i did send out some poems today. 3 each to Dead Snakes and The Camel Saloon and 4 to Luciferous. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

the New York Yankees offense is missing in action. they lost again last night 3-1. if they get swept tonight i would expect a few people to start strapping themselves to the bridges. hopefully the bats can start driving in runners in scoring position (this has only been a problem for a few years now) and they can get the taste of winning back.

the New York Rangers play in Colorado tonight. they are 3 points away from clinching a playoff spot. so, with a win tonight and a Capitals loss or overtime loss tomorrow, the Rangers are in before the weekend. got a little update on their best d man today... he's day to day but there was no structural damage. so, i'm going to assume that he's not playing tonight, which affects my fantasy hockey team. and considering i'm already trailing in the championship round, i had to make a move for tonight. so, that truly begins the grind.

Legit and Ali G were pretty fucking funny last night.

i do believe The Big Bang Theory is new tonight. i'll get that in before the sports start tonight.

i fell asleep during the second half of the USA vs. Mexico friendly last night. sadly, it was after Mexico came back to tie the score. i would have been fine falling asleep when the USA was leading 2-0. instead, it finished 2-2. if the USA could simply play like they did for the first half in the World Cup, they actually might stand a chance in the group of death.

got a few more cartoons today from Janne Karlsson. they are simply genius. if i can't find a publisher for them i may just have to dust off the wallet and put them out myself.

that's all for me today kids. i'll be on here tomorrow after the second round of submissions go out.

be well, be good, be bad, be drunk, be disorderly, be the revolution...

peace.
