hurry up and wait

today was one of those days that frustrate the living shit out of me. for most people, it's called life. but, for me, it's simply another twist of the screw that's driving me insane. mostly, it's a matter of i like to get shit done in a prompt and direct kind of way and the rest of the world likes to takes its fucking time. and with it looking more likely that i'm going to be moving into suburbia here soon, as you might imagine, insanity is going to become a close friend.

i do believe there is an agreement in principle over the new house. i don't know all the particulars, but my mother seems to be happy. and honestly, that's good enough for me. i'm a writer, so i expect to be fucked in this deal somehow, mostly because i need something to write about.

i had to take mom to the store today. today became the evening pretty quickly. she is walking better, which makes me very happy. as i told her, she's trending in the right direction. we got a ton of food at the store as eating out is going to become a luxury very soon. so, looks like i'm going to be making my killer chili this weekend. and given this fucking weather, it's going to be needed. it almost made it out of the 30's today. lovely.

the New York Rangers shocked the shit out of me last night and whipped the Penguins 5-0. it was a glorious sight to see, especially considering my buddy Paul is a Penguins fan. i didn't call to rub it in, but i'll certainly mention it the next time he calls. of course, these teams meet again over the weekend. so i might keep the trash talk to myself. the Rangers play again tomorrow. here is the second of the 3 first period goals scored last night by the Rangers.
and the game recap:

The Voice was good last night but certainly not great. i'll be curious to see who is going home tonight.

The Concert For Valor was excellent. i love how people were outraged that some people actually fucking curse when on HBO. welcome to the real world you clueless assholes.

other than The Voice tonight, i plan on watching Lucha Underground and American Horror Story. that should be a fun evening.

i suppose i need to start figuring out what i'm going to try to sell as i certainly need to downsize before we move. if anyone knows anyone that might be interested in 40,000 baseball cards, send me an email.

that's all for me today. i'll hopefully be on here earlier tomorrow. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

stay warm.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

and here comes winter...

about two hours ago, i felt my back tightening up. i figured that was the cold front starting to move through. good thing i closed up the barns as best as i could earlier in the day. the young cats looked at me like i was crazy for doing it. of course, the older ones were busy eating and getting prepared for the next few days.

my sister didn't exactly like the counter offer she got on the house. i'm not sure what's going to come out of all of this, but i think there is no chance my sister goes through with the deal if she thinks she's not the one winning in the end. as much as i love her to death, she's the type of person that will die with every single penny she has ever earned clinched in her fists as they drop her in the ground. this is always where i know she secretly can't stand me as i don't give two shits about money. if i have it, great. if i don't, oh well.

i got to see most of what i wanted to last night. Gotham was great once again. there were two performances that really blew me away on The Voice last night...
Monday Night Raw was pretty good. i like the way the teams for Survivor Series are shaping up. i watched some of the MLS playoffs last night and then fell asleep right after Men in Blazers. i might have enjoyed that more if i wasn't dead tired.

i had to drive my mother around this afternoon. she's still not comfortable driving, so i'm going to be doing that for god knows how long. the way she is right now, i have no clue if she's going to be able to go to the basketball game on Friday.

after we got home and ate some lunch, i hopped on the computer to watch Video Game High School. one of my guilty pleasures.

tonight will be another interesting night of television for me. the Concert for Valor is on HBO tonight. The Voice has another night of live performances. and then, the New York Rangers play at home against the Penguins. this could be a brutal hockey game as the Rangers stink on defense right now and the Penguins would like some revenge for the playoffs last season. needless to say, i'm going to be busy bouncing between those three things tonight.

i finished 10-3 on my NFL picks for the second straight week. my two fantasy teams are headed in different directions. one has lost 6 in a row while the other has won 6 in a row. well, at least i might get one team in the playoffs.

that's all for me today. hope everyone had a great Veteran's Day here in the USA or a great Metal Day in the rest of the world. turn it to 11 brothers. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

change or at least the possibility of it happening

so, i went to check out the house yesterday with my sister and mother. of course, within 2 minutes of getting these my uncle was out on his scooter (for the elderly, not hipsters) to talk to us. the realtor was running late. once she got there, we went inside. the outside looked nice and looks pretty easy to maintain. the inside was pretty nice as well. a ton of storage which would be good for all the shit we have. what would be my bedroom is a good size. not sure about the bathrooms, but that would be an issue for a later date. after talking to my mother and sister, my sister decided to make an offer for the house. we should find out tomorrow if we're getting it or not. while i'm not thrilled with living next to family, it certainly will make the poetry interesting. and any writer will tell you interesting is never a bad thing.

after that, i came back home to watch the New Orleans Saints lose a heart breaker in OT, 27-24. the loss drops them back under .500. of course, having been a fan of this team on and off since the 1980's, i'm sort of numb to these types of losses. making the playoffs will be that much harder now.

the New York Rangers played like shit last night, except for the goalie who did his best to keep them in a game they had no interest in playing. a 3-1 loss to Edmonton when you get outplayed for 60 minutes is fucking unacceptable. they made some minor roster moves this evening, but i doubt they will be much help with the Penguins coming up tomorrow.

one of my fantasy football teams comes into tonight down by 67 points. needless to say, i don't think i have a fucking chance in that one. as for the other one, i'm up by 3 points and still have 3 players to go tonight. i feel good about that one.

the Sunday night shows were excellent last night. The Newsroom was fucking great. i love how well written the show is week after week. Last Week Tonight was hilarious as always. Homeland was a mind fuck last night. The Affair peeled a little more of the onion last night and the ending definitely set my mind racing where the show goes next.

as for tonight, a bit of a clusterfuck, but not too bad. i have no plans on watching the football game. and Monday Night Raw is over in England, so there's a good chance i will simply find out what happens and then only watch what the live reports said were good. so, that leaves me bouncing between Gotham and the first live shows for this season of The Voice. i should be able to manage that pretty good.

i've got to get the farm ready for the winter blast coming our way in a few days. mostly closing up barns and taking account of what is broken. i'm going to be interested to see how the cats handle a few days in a row of it being cold. i don't think some of the young ones are cut out for it.

i got some great music on NoiseTrade today. if you are a fan of Springsteen or Tom Waits, you'll definitely want to check out this FREE music. the link will be below.

that's pretty much all for me. i think i may try to do some writing tonight. i've got a few words swimming up in my head. i do hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

bitter realities...

as i was sitting alone at the Dayton Flyers game, and by alone, i mean i was the only fucking person sitting in the row 3 minutes before the game was getting ready to start, i quickly had a realization that this is exactly how my future is going to be. not a pretty sight, but a realistic one. with that being said, the guy who almost let me get up before he walked in front of me and the kid constantly kicking my seat from behind me is god openly laughing at me. it all makes sense now.

as for the game, it was a sloppy foul fest that resulted in Dayton beating Southern Indiana 96-66. hopefully that's a sign they won't play down to their competition this season. but, i'd love to see the defense get much, much better. they play their first game of the regular season on Friday.

let's get the poetry news out of the way. in the past 12 hours i have heard back from Nerve Cowboy, Pyrokinection and Napalm and Novocain on my poetry submissions from April (NC) and October. all 11 poems have been passed on. i suppose there is my rotten cherry to top off this weekend. well, i suddenly have a new batch of poems to send out.

the New York Rangers lost last night 5-4 to Toronto. thankfully, i didn't see any of the game. they play again tonight against Edmonton at home.

i did get home in time to watch most of the second half of the Ohio State game. to say i was surprised would be a mild understatement. Ohio State whipped Michigan State on the ROAD 49-37. maybe the Buckeyes are ready for the big time once again. i truly enjoyed that victory beer.

i did watch some boxing last night. it was more like watching the elderly get beat for 12 rounds. plus, i stayed up and watched an excellent new episode of ROH. i would love to see them get a big tv deal and really get the exposure they deserve.

Manchester United won 1-0 yesterday against Crystal Palace. Juan Mata scored the winner in the second half. i'd love to say the boys played great but they didn't. of course, with all the damn injuries they have i'm just pleased they got the 3 points for the win.

today is my usual clusterfuck. the New Orleans Saints play in about 45 minutes against the 49ers. i picked against them once again hoping they will win. it's worked the last 2 times. after the first quarter or so, i have to go with my mother and sister to look at houses. needless to say, i'm not happy about that. luckily we're driving separately so you can take a wild guess who will be leaving early. the Rangers play around 6 tonight so i'll get to watch most of that before the Sunday night shows start. The Newsroom starts its final season tonight on HBO. i love that show. also tonight, i believe the season finale of Last Week Tonight airs. over on Showtime i'll be watching Homeland and The Affair. yet another late night for me.

on top of all that, i'm going to try to keep track of my fantasy football and hockey teams. good times. hockey is going pretty good for me this week. as for football, at least i don't have many injuries to worry about this week.

i have fed the cats and the trash is picked up. of course, my back is killing me from cleaning the kitty litter. could that be the excuse that gets me out of looking at houses today? find out tomorrow...

hope everyone is having a good weekend. my mother is improving, thanks for asking. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

surviving with hardly any sleep

if anyone wants to know why i'll probably die a good 30 years before i was "supposed" to, i can't help but think it's going to be due to a lack of sleep. and this is not a recent problem for me. i can remember my mother catching me awake at 4 in the morning when i was a child. of course, i watching dirty movies, mostly Cinemax. hell, anytime i see Shannon Tweed i get a hard on to this day.

i survived the stores yesterday. i got everything we needed and managed to keep it all under $100. not too bad.

mom is feeling better this morning. she seems to be talking better and walking better as well. that relieves my mind a great deal.

i did watch Sonic Highways last night. another good episode. i loved seeing all the old footage from Austin City Limits.

Manchester United plays Crystal Palace in a few minutes. hopefully they can start my day off right with a win.

after that, i need to get all my shit done. a shower, the cats, trash, etc.

tonight is going to be a clusterfuck. the Dayton Flyers play their exhibition game tonight at UD Arena. chances are i'm going to go by myself. mom isn't interested. so, i might have to make some calls. also tonight, the New York Rangers are up in Toronto. tonight marks the season debut for Derek Stepan. that should go a long way to getting the lines back in order. also tonight, Ohio State plays at Michigan State in basically an elimination game. on top of all that, i also want to watch some boxing and the new episode of ROH. thankfully, i believe SNL is a rerun. of course, it's the episode i missed so i'll probably end up watching it. gee, i wonder why i never sleep.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i suppose it will be before mom makes me go look at the house next to her brother's. mom and i sort of got into it yesterday about it. she wants a 3 bedroom house and of course this one only has 2. so, i sort of bluntly asked her why is she still settling at the age of 61. she feels bad that my sister wouldn't have a bedroom. i told her i wouldn't feel bad that my sister would have to sleep on a couch when i would have to listen to you bitch seven days a week about how you should have got a house with 3 bedrooms. and then i hammered it home asking why she has given the impression to everyone that she is interested in the house to begin with and already has my sister figuring out how to pay for it. not sure a child should ever have to give their parent a pep talk, but i seem to have to every other week anymore. it's hard for me not to come off as the asshole in these "talks". good thing for me that i don't care about that kind of shit. so, yeah, that Monday blog could be one for the ages.

that's all for me for now. i do hope all 3 of you that read this have a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

testing my sanity

i didn't sleep much last night. i didn't have any weird dreams or anything, it was more of a restlessness that comes with the unknown. this is my mother's second bad reaction to the last two medical procedures done to her. it's rather easy for me to think the worst is coming soon. now, while that probably isn't going to happen, i'm the type of asshole that has to be prepared for such events. so, this will be a quicker blog than usual as i have to go shopping. and for someone who hates people as much as i do, i kind of have to get my mind in the right place to go out in the world. so, think of yourself as my therapy.

the NFL game last night was pretty damn boring. i picked the game wrong and my fantasy player didn't do much. thankfully, neither did my opponents. of course, i did have Cleveland's defense sitting on my bench. that will probably come back to haunt me.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty good last night. it did make me think of the 3 school dances i went to in my life. nothing quite like being the awkward white guy with the beautiful black girlfriend. if i only would have learned to dance...

after i get back from the store, i will hopefully get to watch Sonic Highways tonight. i believe the Foo Fighters will be in Austin, Texas for this episode. that should be a good one.

i figure i'll probably watch some hockey and pro basketball tonight as well. my buddy Paul asked me if i wanted to see the local hockey team play tonight. i passed as i really don't want to leave mom alone for long while she's feeling like this.

at least the room has stopped spinning for her.

i got some great music on NoiseTrade today. i'll post the links below.

that's really all for me for now. if something crazy happens at the store, you might see another post from me this evening. chances are that won't happen. i will be back on here before Manchester United plays in the morning.

hope everyone has a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

being the good son...

i knew something was up with my mother when i came downstairs this morning. it was nearly 9 AM and she was still in bed. and then i noticed she had the trash can near her bed. the trash can that is normally in the bathroom. great... she's been dizzy nearly the whole day. i've let her sleep for the most part, checking on her every 30 minutes or so. i did get my laundry done after i went to the store for her. i joked that she owes me since i got stuck in a conversation with my aunt's sister at the store. hopefully this is only a temporary thing. the doctor did say that some people do react like this to the procedure she had on Tuesday. fingers are crossed...

while doing my laundry i listened to the second episode of the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast. i highly recommend it. the interview he did with Chris Jericho was great.

i actually saw all the cats today. i guess that means there really is a storm coming this weekend.

Lucha Underground was good last night. i definitely think this promotion is off to a good start.

American Horror Story was brilliant last night. this season is definitely fucking creepy.

the New York Rangers won in OT last night, 4-3. i could see how a viewer that wasn't a fan of either team would love the game last night. it had a bit of everything. speed, hitting, penalties, a penalty shot, power plays, a little nastiness, some great goals, etc etc. i'll gladly take the 2 points. and they are getting a little healthier. they sent down a guy today which i have to believe means that Derek Stepan will be returning this weekend. here are some highlights from last night:

tonight i'll be watching The Big Bang Theory and then the NFL game between the Bengals and Browns. The battle of Ohio. i do have one player playing tonight. i believe one of my opponents does as well. i picked the Bengals to win.

i'm still getting used to it getting so damn dark here early now. this doesn't help me being a night person. hell, i didn't get to sleep last night until almost 4 in the morning. i'd hate to see the madness if i lived by myself.

that's all for today. i need to go fix dinner for my mother. i don't have a clue what she feels like eating, so this could get interesting.

hope everyone is doing good. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

one of those days again...

one of those days where i felt like i was productive but i didn't get hardly anything i wanted to get done done. i'll blame most of that on my bad back. nothing like having to ice it down after doing the dishes. that's yet another sign that i'm 38 going on 78.

i sent out 12 poems today, 6 to ZYX and 3 each to The Camel Saloon and Dead Snakes. when i hear back from these places, i'll pass along the verdicts.

my back was killing me after the dishes so bad that i decided i will attempt to do my laundry tomorrow.

i basically watched everything but election day coverage last night on television. now, i do follow politics very closely, but i have no interest in this type of bullshit.

The Voice was a good recap, especially for myself as i have missed some performances. i like at least 1 person on each team, so i'm hoping the live shows really start to separate the good from the great.

saw a great performance on The Tonight Show last night. and the album is definitely in my top 5 of the year.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Detroit. looks like they are getting two players back tonight from injury. hopefully that will help them get the win and two points.

also tonight, i'm planning on watching American Horror Story and Lucha Underground. should be an interesting evening.

i guess there are some other people interested in the home my mom wants. this should make the next week or so interesting.

i guess we're going to have another cold streak coming for this weekend. the way my back is feeling, i'm going to fucking hate this winter. i can already feel it.

that's all for me today. i'll be on here sometime tomorrow during loads of laundry. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

getting older

i had to drive my mother to her doctor's appointment today. they had to inject something into the ear she had her shunt put in. it was a little unnerving to watch your mother grab on to the chair like she was being killed. thankfully, she wasn't. hopefully this injection does the trick. i certainly know she doesn't want another one.

i was up really late last night. mostly just fucking around on YouTube. i did get to see the new episode of Video Game High School. it was a really dark episode at times. but, having experienced a few deaths in my life, i thought they did a pretty good job of acting it out. the stages of grief can be a motherfucker at times.

the New York Rangers lost a heart breaker last night, 4-3 in a shootout. at least they got a point out of the game with a defense that mostly belongs in the AHL. it was nice to see Martin St. Louis start scoring. that will certainly help in the upcoming games. they play again tomorrow night.

my 14 point lead in fantasy football became a 15 point loss by the end of the game last night. that team is basically dead in the water now at 3-6. my other team is 6-3 and in first place in the division. so, at least i should have one team make the playoffs. i went 10-3 picking games last night. that's more like it.

had a little busy day on NoiseTrade. i'll provide the links below.

Monday Night Raw was really good last night. might be the best episode in months.

Gotham was fucking awesome. that show is damn near perfect.

Men in Blazers was really funny last night. they seem to be really hitting their stride now.

The Voice was good last night. my girl Reagan James did great once again. she's definitely my choice right now to win it all. tonight is the recap of all the knockout rounds. i can't wait for the live shows.

i did write two poems today when i was out with my mother. i will probably type those up late tonight.

i saw this last night and laughed my ass off...enjoy:

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i definitely need to get my laundry done and get some poems mailed out. i'm guessing early evening.

hope everyone is doing good. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

i woke up this morning...

and immediately wrote a poem. thankfully, it was a short one or i probably would have shit my pants. i can't remember a time where i have written a poem right away in the morning. and it wasn't something based on a dream or anything like that. i typed it up this afternoon and i like it. i'll probably include it with the next round of submissions.

i guess my mother really likes the house next to her brother's, even though it doesn't have a dishwasher. my sister has already got pre-approved for a loan for it, so i'm guessing she was serious about buying it so we'd have something once we sold the farm. as i told my mother, i don't want to live there but i also know i have no choice in the matter. i think she's making me check it out this coming Saturday before the UD basketball game. i suppose if i like it my only demands will be that i have everything in my room so i'll never have to come out of it. just how i always envisioned how i would live my 40's. good times.

i did pretty well in fantasy football yesterday. i won one match by 72 points. the other i am leading by 14 points but my opponent has two players playing tonight. i don't like my chances.

i did watch most of the highwire shit in Chicago last night. it wasn't as much as a prayer fest as the Grand Canyon one was. there's no way i would have even of thought to try to do the blindfolded one. that was fucking crazy.

Homeland was great last night. i always love unexpected violence. the show definitely went to the 'oh shit' zone last night. i can't wait for next week's episode.

The Affair was really good. that show is perfectly cast.

Last Week Tonight had me laughing once again. that show is fucking brilliant each week.

tonight, the New York Rangers play at home against St. Louis. this will be a really tough game with how injured the Rangers are right now. if they get anything out of this game, i'll be pleasantly surprised.

on top of that tonight, i'll be watching Gotham, The Voice, Monday Night Raw, and later tonight, Men in Blazers. as usual, i'll probably have to rely on YouTube to catch what i miss. at least my mother did say if we move she is planning on getting a DVR. that will make these nights so much easier.

i'm not sure if i'm going to mail out some poems tomorrow or not. it all depends on how pissy i find myself on Election Day. given the assholes this country elects to the government, i'm usually a fucking grouch on the first Tuesday of November.

i do hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

when bad luck meets anger...

i got up this morning and it was cold outside. thankfully, it was pretty warm in the house. i don't think the cats outside were exactly ready for 25 degrees this morning. thankfully for them, the sunshine should warm them up pretty quickly. i got most of my shit done in time to watch the Manchester Derby. needless to say, i'm still a little pissed.

i'm not pissed at Manchester United for losing 1-0 while being down to 10 men for nearly 60 minutes. i'm not pissed at the fact they had some chances to get something out of the game buy couldn't convert. i'm really only pissed at Chris Smalling. what the fuck was he thinking? pure fucking madness. the first yellow is the stupid one. sadly, because of the Rojo injury, i'm guessing Smalling keeps his spot. i'm still shaking my head. what could have been... but congrats to Manchester Shitty. had a power play for almost a hour and could only get 1 goal. ha ha.

the New York Rangers lost 1-0 in a shootout last night. sadly, they also lost 2 defensemen in the first period, Klein and McDonagh. how the other 4 managed to help the team get a least a point out of that game last night is beyond me. McDonagh is out for awhile with a separated shoulder. that will be a costly one for the Rangers. if Klein is out for any time, they basically only have 2 defensemen left that are "good". not fun. they play again on Monday night.

thankfully, Ohio State whipped Illinois last night 55-14. that victory beer helped ease my blues.

Saturday Night Live was great last night. Prince was amazing. he clearly still has "it". ROH was awesome last night as well.

i've got the trash down to the end of the lane so the rest of my day is going to be watching football and mumbling to myself about Manchester United.

i suppose i might watch Nik Wallenda do his crazy tightrope shit in Chicago tonight on the Discovery Channel. if my day goes bad in fantasy football, sadly i'll be watching, hoping for something to go wrong. that's the joy of enjoying the ride to hell. also tonight i plan on watching Homeland, The Affair, and Last Week Tonight.

and then, hopefully, a nice long night of sleep. we turned the clocks back last night. i rarely get to use that extra hour for sleep. hopefully that changes.

mom got the check for the crops yesterday. there was two numbers to the left of the comma, so i'm happy about that. sadly, the weather change late really hurt us. plus, the prices being down this year didn't help.

that's all for me today. my buddy Paul just called and he's coming over today to watch some football. at least i'll have someone other than my mother to bitch to.

hope your weekend is going better than mine. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

a slight dusting of snow...

the winds were fucking crazy last night. it was a struggle to keep my mother's SUV in the lane last night on the highway. of course, i was going nearly 80 miles per hour for most of the ride home. we didn't get any snow on the drive back, but i did wake up to a little dusting this morning. i was more concerned with the temperature of 33 degrees. i guess winter wants to start early this year.

the hockey game was pretty fucking boring last night. there was easily more Toronto fans there than Blue Jackets fans. and they were the arrogant pricks i figured they would always be. i told my sister last night when i was going into the bathroom, if i'm not out in 10 minutes, i started a brawl. of course, nothing happened, but i did laugh at all the empty cans of LaBatt's around the bathroom. as for the game, Toronto won 4-1. they outplayed Columbus the entire game.

after going out to eat afterwards, we did get home in time to watch Sonic Highways on HBO. once again, the Foo Fighters knocked another one out of the park. another great episode. i did get a good laugh when most of the band had no clue who the country stars were on the walls when they were at the Grand Ole Opry.

i got my assignment from Janne Karlsson done before i left for the game yesterday. i love when a quick brainstorming session brings out something good. he liked what i wrote and is planning to submit it soon.

today will be a day of college football, maybe a little soccer, hockey, some laughs, some music and then, hopefully, some sleep.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Winnipeg. hopefully i am drinking a victory beer by the end of the game.

Ohio State plays tonight against Illinois. hopefully they win easily as i would like to watch most of the Auburn vs. Ole Miss game.

Saturday Night Live should be great tonight. Chris Rock hosting and Prince is the musical guest.

after that i'm planning on watching a new episode of ROH.

not sure if i'm going to the store today with mom or not. i know i won't be going to look at the house next to where her brother lives today. not sure i really want to live next to the people who birthed the girl that molested me. even as fucked up as i am, willfully bringing on such mental shit is even beyond me.

i'm cutting this a little short as i need to go feed the animals. i'm interested to see how the young cats did last night.

hope everyone is coping with the day after the sugar highs. have a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.
