oh how i love not sleeping...

after i sent out the poems last night, i was really looking forward to getting a little sleep. i couldn't find a comfortable spot for my arm for anything. so, after tossing and turning for 2 hours, i ended up trying to sleep in my massage chair. let's just say i got a couple naps during the morning.

i did go to the bank after the second nap. i love getting stuck behind people who are just now looking at the damage from the Memorial Day tornadoes. joy.

after i get this done, i'll be doing my laundry and hoping Manchester United plays great today. i'm really hoping they win today at Wolves.

the New York Yankees lost to Cleveland yesterday, 8-4. the Yankees are off tonight and start a series out in Oakland tomorrow night.

the New Orleans Saints played like shit in the first half yesterday. thankfully, Taysom Hill saved the day in the second half and the Saints defeated the Chargers, 19-17.

Big Brother went as i expected last night.

the season finale of City on a Hill was excellent. i can't wait for season 2.

Succession was really good last night.

The Righteous Gemstones was fucking ridiculous last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm hoping whenever i am, i will have my damn laundry done.

i'm off to go watch United and get my laundry started and figure out what i'm having for lunch today.

until tomorrow kids...

sometimes the dreams get a little weird...

i had a dream last night i was still living on the farm and the cats had mutated into demons trying to kill me. the funny thing is, i think i got almost 5 hours of sleep. go figure.

the New York Yankees won yesterday over Cleveland, 6-5. they will go for the series win this afternoon.

the New Orleans Saints play this afternoon against the Chargers. i believe the game is on CBS, so i will probably watch some of it.

NJPW was really good last night.

ROH was good last night.

i figured out this morning where my next 11 poems are going. i believe i will get those out tomorrow, probably while i'm doing my laundry.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Holey Moley, Big Brother, the season finale of City on a Hill, Succession, The Righteous Gemstones and Last Week Tonight.

i could feel the humidity rising when i went out to get the paper this morning. i get the feeling today is going to be one of those days parked in front of the television with ice on my back in my massage chair. joy.

i will try to be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays. in case i'm not, here is a preview of the game against Wolves.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

so long to the easy rider

i found out after i got the blog done yesterday about the death of Peter Fonda. i'm happy that Jane said he went out laughing. we all deserve that i suppose. rest in peace.

my mother's stubbornness got the better of her once again last night. she was getting food out from the oven and of course, instead of asking me to help her, she spilled some of the contents onto the bottom of our new oven. i just looked at her and said i wonder if you'll actually learn to ask for help before you die? i believe we both know that answer is no.

the New York Yankees won last night against Cleveland, 3-2. they played a much better game than the night before. hopefully that continues this afternoon.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

A Black Lady Sketch Show was fucking hilarious last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and ROH.

mom wanted breakfast from McDonald's this morning. she was hoping it would make her shit. so far, it's been a success.

if i have some time this afternoon, i think i'll try to get my ass in gear and get some poems out. i have a few places in mind.

i'll be on here in the morning tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

some memories never leave you...

so, the woman behind me in line at the grocery store today totally reminded me of the woman i was madly in love with when i was 21. now i know it wasn't her, because that woman lives a couple thousand miles away now. but, holy shit, what a rush of memories when i saw her a few times in the store and then behind me in line. and as much as i thought about saying something, it was just as much a thought that god was totally fucking with me at this moment. i did manage to keep the groceries under $100, no thanks to the jackass that runs this country that still doesn't understand how tariffs fucking work.

i had a little writing session last night. i ended up writing 7 poems. i typed those up before i went to bed last night. i'm pretty sure most of them will be included in my next round of submissions, here in the next few days most likely.

the New York Yankees had their asses handed to them last night, losing to the Indians, 19-5. i'm happy that happened actually. it could be the wake up call they fucking need. i guess i'll know with how they play tonight.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. Kat got evicted. now, the fun begins because Michie won the HOH.

Baskets was pretty funny last night. the series finale is next week.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Real Time with Bill Maher and A Black Lady Sketch Show.

i will probably be on here tomorrow in the morning, before the Yankees play in the afternoon.

nothing like 3 hours of something resembling sleep...

i'm pretty much a damn zombie anymore these days. i haven't shaved in weeks, mostly due to the pinched nerve in my right arm. i now know how much gray hair i have on my face. if i actually liked people, i could have a future as Santa. thank god i don't.

i had to run to the local grocery store last night as mom wanted some things from the deli and we needed some buns as well. i got everything she wanted and was headed up to the registers. i saw this woman and her two kids go to one line that was already closed, so they headed back to the line i was going in. i stopped to let them in, mostly because i know her life is obviously more tedious than my life is. her son raced into the line without looking. the mother then scolded her son for cutting in front of me and ordered him to apologize. he turned to me with the saddest fucking look i have seen on a child in years and said i'm sorry. i told him not to worry about it, as he has obviously been browbeaten for most of his life. the woman thanked me 3 different times, even after she paid and was leaving the line. i chuckled, she had to have been intimidated by me. i tend to have that effect on people when they don't know me. i guess my inner asshole just shines through.

the New York Yankees beat Baltimore 6-5 yesterday. that was their 16th straight win this season over the Orioles. too bad they don't play them anymore this season. the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Cleveland. this could be a little playoff preview tonight. i'm hoping the Yankees keep winning, but given that they have a 10 game lead in the division now, i'd love for them to get healthy more than anything.

NXT and NXT UK were both pretty good yesterday.

Big Brother was good last night. i do believe Kat will be going to the jury house tonight.

i did get to see Songland this morning on the internet. i really enjoyed it and i loved the song Macklemore ended up choosing.

Snowfall was excellent last night.

Alternate Endings: Six New Ways to Die in America was fascinating last night. i cried like a baby when Amazing Grace was played on the bagpipes. that was the song my stepfather died to. i know i want to be cremated when i die and have my remains divided into dime bags for anyone who bothers to show up to a funeral. having the remains be part of creating a new reef in the ocean looked pretty interesting. it's one of those documentaries that everyone should check out.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother and Baskets. i might watch some preseason football tonight, especially if i'm bored.

i did listen to episode 251 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

the pain of being a lonely soul...

it's one of those things that i know deep down, no matter how hard i try, or how hard i wish, love is one of the more elusive things in my life. and when you meet someone that deep down you feel could be that missing piece, it's the lonely part of the soul that becomes the elephant in the room, especially when the beautiful one you want to complete the puzzle seemingly wants nothing to do with it. and sure, i'm probably reading too much into it or barking up the wrong tree... i just know i'm not getting any younger and i fully know my options are dwindling. good times.

the New York Yankees won last night over Baltimore, 8-3. they will go for the sweep this afternoon.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

Miz & Mrs. was hilarious last night.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

Hard Knocks was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Alternate Endings: Six New Ways to Die in America, Big Brother, Snowfall and Songland. (of course, since the people that own our NBC station and DIRECTV are in a fight, i'll have to watch Songland tomorrow sometime on the internet most likely). i'll watch NXT and NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i'm slightly shocked, they picked up the trash, recycling and the mail got delivered all before noon today.

i think i might have got something close to 5 hours of sleep last night. that's shocking as well i suppose.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. as you can tell from the start of this blog, i probably have a few poems that need to bleed from this brain.

a crack of thunder that sounded like a bomb...

i believe it was around 3:45 in the morning. i had just got into bed and was trying to find a comfortable spot. i saw a flash of lightning through my blinds and the crack of thunder sounded like a fucking bomb going off. it was like that for the next 30 minutes or so. i think i finally fell asleep around 5 in the morning. joy. i was up at 8:30 and on my way to make some coffee. i figured it was a good thing i had 3 drinks last night. that was the only way i got any sleep at all.

the New York Yankees won both games against Baltimore yesterday, 8-5 in Game 1 and 11-8 in Game 2. weather permitting, they play Baltimore again tonight.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i love that Sasha Banks is back. and given that she got into it last night with Becky Lynch, i can't fucking wait for that feud to explode.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Deadliest Catch, Miz & Mrs. and Hard Knocks. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

in case of storms tonight...

i wasn't sure what to expect from Manchester United yesterday. by the end of the game, i was so fucking happy, that i truly hope this is a sign of things to come this season. United beat Chelsea 4-0.

the New York Yankees defeated Toronto yesterday 1-0. they play a doubleheader today at home against Baltimore.

WWE SummerSlam was good last night. the highlight for me was Bray Wyatt. his new entrance and character is fucking scary as hell. i love it.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. i'd love for Christie to be evicted this week, though i know it's not going to happen.

City on a Hill was excellent last night. i can't wait for the season finale next week.

Succession was great last night. looks like i'm going to enjoy season 2.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.

enjoy some music:

well, i at least tossed and turned for nearly 6 hours...

i just love getting to bed exhausted at 4:30 in the morning and then seeing the clock every 20 minutes or so for the next few hours. it's a recipe to ensure i die before 50 i suppose. joy.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday to Toronto, 5-4. i'm hoping they win today to split the series.

NXT Takeover: Toronto was really, really good last night and then the main event was HOLY FUCKING SHIT great. if that was Johnny Gargano's last match in NXT, what a way to go out. i will go ahead and say it now, i doubt SummerSlam tonight is anywhere near as good as Takeover was.

NJPW was excellent last night. i'm so happy that Ibushi won the A Block.

ROH was good last night.

My Favorite Shapes by Julio Torres was fucking absurd and brilliant last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Succession, Last Week Tonight, Big Brother and City on a Hill. i'll be watching WWE SummerSlam for most of the evening.

Manchester United plays Chelsea here in a bit. i have no clue what to expect from United this season. i do believe they have improved their defense, but i'm not sure if addition by subtraction on offense is going to lead to the best results. hopefully, they get a big first win of the season today.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

i'll die with a restless mind...

i couldn't sleep for anything last night. a couple hours at best in my bed. i got a good power hour in my massage chair with some ice on my back. but i definitely feel a crash coming on soon. joy.

the New York Yankees lost last night in Toronto, 8-2. it was bound to happen at some point i suppose. hopefully, they get back to winning tonight.

the New Orleans Saints lost to Minnesota last night, 34-25.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

A Black Lady Sketch Show was hilarious last night.

David Bowie: Finding Fame was very interesting last night. i didn't know much about David's family life growing up. now, things make way more sense.

Real Time with Bill Maher was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW, ROH and My Favorite Shapes by Julio Torres. i'll be watching NXT Takeover: Toronto for most of the night on WWE Network.

it was cool enough this morning i was able to open up the house some. that's probably why i was able to get some more sleep. i'll probably have to turn the AC back on here soon.

remind me to never go into a liquor store while in pain...

so yeah, i have been in pain for most of today. and when i was in the grocery store, my nerve pain really started hitting me. so, of course, the natural spot to go was the liquor store. 1 bottle of Wild Turkey, 1 bottle of Fireball and 5 little bottles of Absolut Vodka and i was leaving a happy man. of course, i know either my liver or my wallet are going to feel the effects at some point, but i'm not trying to live forever.

mom wanted some gift cards so there was no chance of keeping the total under $100 today. and for some damn reason, the grocery store decided to not be fully staffed on a Friday. fuck me.

the New York Yankees won again last night, defeating Toronto 12-6. hopefully, they will keep on winning tonight.

the New Orleans Saints play their first preseason game tonight against the Vikings. i don't think it's on television here, so i'll probably check out the highlights sometime tonight.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. Jack was evicted. Tommy won the HOH on his birthday. and i truly loved that Julie brought up all the racist shit Jack said in the house and made him answer for it on national television.

Holey Moley was hilarious last night.

Baskets was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, David Bowie Finding Fame, Real Time with Bill Maher and A Black Lady Sketch Show.

i will probably be on here tomorrow in the morning. it's a big wrestling weekend, so i'm shooting to get the blogs done early enough where i can settle in for a long one.

on top of that, with me sleeping like shit, i take as many naps as i can. thank god soccer has started back up. i can put on a game with two teams i don't give a shit about and get a good 60 minutes of a nap in easily.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

response from Synchronized Chaos

i heard back from Cristina at Synchronized Chaos on my poetry submission from earlier today. my poems "back together again", "the second day", "the calm before the proverbial storm", "anger and despair with every chord" and "a sign of being defeated" have been accepted for publication in the September issue of the magazine.

sometimes, pain is i all i have...

it's one of those days where my back has been tight and nothing has worked. but, there's shit to do and i'm a stubborn old fuck anymore.

i did send out 16 poems today. 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash and Synchronized Chaos; 6 to Record Magazine. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

the transfer window closed today. i was hoping Manchester United was going to do more than just finish the sell off of Lukaku to Inter Milan. silly me.

the New York Yankees whipped Baltimore last night, 14-2. they start a series tonight in Toronto.

NXT was a little light on the wrestling last night, with most of the episode setting up Takeover: Toronto this Saturday.

Big Brother was good last night. i'm pretty sure Jack will be evicted tonight. the episode won't air here until the middle of the night because of preseason football. i figure i'll follow online at some point.

Snowfall was excellent last night.

doing my best on 4 hours of sleep...

i decided to be an adult last night and actually check my email before i went to bed. what that actually meant was i didn't get to bed until 5 this morning. i laughed and said watch, i'll be up at 9. sure enough, the fucking phone woke me up at exactly 9 this morning. i guess i manifested that into existence. i got a little nap in when i was icing my back, but 20 minutes didn't exactly fill me full of energy. it's been one of those days where i can't seem to get out of my own way, if you know what i mean.

i did do a little poetry work today. i know where my next 16 poems are going to go. i will hopefully get those out tomorrow.

the New York Yankees defeated Baltimore last night 9-4. they will go for a sweep later this evening.

Smackdown was pretty good last night, as was 205 Live.

Miz & Mrs. was hilarious last night.

Hard Knocks was very good last night. it's beyond obvious that Gruden is there for the money and is a character of his former self now.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother and Snowfall. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network. i already watched NXT UK earlier this afternoon. it was really good, as usual.

i have avoided the news for most of the day. the asshole that thinks he's king was here today for a photo op with the victims of the mass shooting. and of course, since the mayor of Dayton is a Democrat, he had to talk shit about her after he left. i'm sure he'll get a bigger fuck you when he gets to El Paso, Texas.

what truly boggles my mind is the shooter in Dayton was one of the armed protesters when the KKK had a rally in Dayton earlier in the year. given that he showed up with what certainly looks like the gun he used in the mass shooting, no one thought that maybe we need to keep an eye on this guy? given all the fucking surveillance we have in this country, and he wasn't on any radar at all? i love all the excuses when something that could have been avoided slips through the cracks.

i'm off to my massage chair, hoping i get a little sleep before the Yankees play.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get the poems sent out. given my arthritis and pinched nerve, that's going to be a fun morning.
