misery, my old friend...

we got about 3 1/2 inches of snow overnight and this morning. it was a wet, heavy snow. easy to shovel, if you don't have a bad back. let's just say, i'm feeling it right now. mom and i made it to the house inspection without any problems. just a few minor electrical problems (switching old shit to new shit basically) that need to be fixed and the house will be one step closer to being ours. of course, my sister wants us to move as soon as we can. that made me laugh. she should know after her 37 years in this family, we are a bunch of fucking procrastinators. if we're all moved in by Spring, i'll be fucking shocked.

sadly, they hadn't picked up all the trash by the time we got home from the inspection. so, i had to go back out into this shit to get that. that is certainly one thing i will not miss about this place. taking the trash down 1/4 mile lane in the winter fucking blows.

the Bengals whipped the Saints yesterday, 27-10. i'm still at a loss for words at how badly the Saints played yesterday. first time they have lost 2 games in a row at home in 5 years. i have no clue what they are going to do for the rest of the season. so much for them being my guaranteed win yesterday.

my one fantasy team, favored by 18 points is currently losing by 23 points. i have quit giving a shit about that team as they have been eliminated from having any chance to make the playoffs. but, my other team is currently winning by 60 points going into the game tonight. that team is in first place and i am certainly hoping to make another deep playoff run.

the shows last night were great. The Newsroom was awesome. i love the pace of that show. Homeland had me on the edge of my seat last night. there was almost a holy fucking shit moment. The Affair peeled another layer off the onion last night. i'm certainly interested to seeing where it goes next week.

tonight is a huge clusterfuck on television for me. first off, the New York Rangers play at home against Tampa Bay. that marks the first time 3 ex-Rangers will be back at MSG. that includes the former captain and one of my favorite all-time Rangers, Ryan Callahan. so, it should be a crazy, emotional night. hopefully i'll be enjoying a victory beer by the end of it.

also tonight, all at the same time mind you, i'll be trying to watch The Voice, Gotham, and Monday Night Raw. i do have a player playing tonight in the football game, but i'll follow that online. i suppose i'll watch most of Gotham and use YouTube to help me with the other two.

all i know is i'm going to spend most of tonight working on getting the pain out of my back. so it's going to be some ice and probably some Jameson Irish Whiskey. that should get the job done.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i know that team USA takes on Ireland in another soccer friendly. maybe i'll get on after that one. of course, if it's a long morning (it's supposed to get down to the single digits tonight) i might be typing to stay warm in the morning. that's another thing i won't miss. living in an old house in the winter is not fun. as much as i love looking at the trees in the snow, having to add a third blanket to the bed in hopes to stay warm is nuts. that shouldn't be a problem in the new house. of course, the furnace is the oldest thing there, so i'm sure we'll be replacing that within the first five years there. everything else is relatively new (5 years old or less).

hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...
