the last day of June...

 so, i wanted to get up early this morning so i could get a few things done (feeding the birds, etc.). i went to bed at 1:30 AM, which is a few hours earlier than i normally try to fall asleep. but, my inner child wasn't tired, so the words started coming to me. i have been in a pretty damn good writing mode this month, and sometimes it just happens like this. once i got a few stanzas into it, i knew i better write this shit down. and holy shit, i think i ended up writing my favorite poem EVER. add that to the other 4 poems i wrote while my mother was in physical therapy and i know i will have some poems to send out for submissions in early July.

the New York Yankees won yesterday at Oakland, 10-4. they start a series tonight at St. Louis.

NJPW was really good last night.

i did watch some of both Gold Cup games last night.

i did go to Rite Aid today to pick up my prescriptions. hats off to the young woman working the counter at the pharmacy as she found both of them in the mess they have going on there. of course, the one i needed is on order. of course.

it seems like this month has flown by. i hope everyone enjoys the last day of June. the silly season with free agency is getting ready to really begin. i hope Manchester United, the New York Rangers, the New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings do well, at least for my own sake.

unexpected perfection...

 so, i was paying attention to the Yankees game while i was watching other things last night. when it got to the 7th inning, i was like well, i need to flip over. by that time, Domingo German was 7 innings into a perfect game. i watched the last two innings wondering which Yankee was going to fuck this up. thankfully, that didn't happen. Domingo German threw the 24th perfect game in major league history. it was also the 4th one in Yankees history. i think he gave up like 17 runs in his last 2 starts, so to say this was unexpected is an understatement. after the game last night, Domingo let it be known his uncle died 2 days ago and this game was for him. the Yankees can win the series this afternoon.

the USMNT won last night in the Gold Cup, 6-0. they play Trinidad & Tobago on Sunday.

AEW Dynamite was really good last night.

Mayans M.C. was great last night.

here comes the haze again...

 not much sunshine today at all. the haze from the fires was back again. after mom's visit to the podiatrist, we went to Lowe's. she found some succulents that she liked. they finally had some snake plants, which mom loves, but she didn't want any of the ones they had. we also looked at dishwashers, microwaves, refrigerators, etc. for the potential kitchen remodel.

well, at least i got it all done before the rain started...

 i went to the bank today, the post office and then to Rite Aid to get my prescription. i was in the parking lot when i got text from mom saying that her pills were ready at Kroger and she had cancelled physical therapy today. so, i went back to Kroger to get those. after that, i went back home. it has been trying to rain all day long. just in the last few hours, it has finally started.

the New York Yankees came from behind yesterday and beat the Texas Rangers, 5-3. they are off tonight and start a series tomorrow at Oakland.

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door last night was fucking great.

wasn't expecting rain this morning...

 i had a cramp in my leg this morning at 5 AM. between that and the rain overnight, joy...i was hoping to get up early and feed the birds this morning as we're supposed to have storms tonight. oh well.

the USMNT tied Jamaica last night, 1-1, in the Gold Cup. considering the USA trailed for most of the game, salvaging a point out of it was better than what i was expecting.

the New York Yankees won yesterday at home against the Texas Rangers, 1-0. hopefully, they can win the series today.

 today has been a long one. i got my usual 4 hours of sleep, but it has been raining on and off for most of the day. so, my arthritis has been fucking raging. joy. i did take mom to get her injection. after that, i had to go to Rite Aid to get my prescription. amazingly, the guy that mows our lawn found a dry hour to get that done today. 

the New York Yankees lost last night at home to Seattle, 10-2. they start a series tonight at home against the Texas Rangers.

the guy that came out to give us an estimate for our kitchen seemed pretty cool. if we go with him, the kitchen will look very different than it does now. i'm not opposed to that.

 i just sent out 13 poems, 5 each to Synchronized Chaos and Horror Sleaze Trash, and 3 poems to The Beatnik Cowboy. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

somedays, waking up isn't that easy...

 i really didn't want to get out of bed this morning. i got somewhere around 5 hours of sleep, which is an eternity to me anymore. but, i didn't get any poems written last night. i chose sleep instead. so, i'm very interested to see what i write today while mom is in physical therapy.

first day of summer...

 so, my doctor's appointment didn't go well yesterday. my A1C is still too fucking high. so, they are changing my Trulicity yet again. i'm hoping this time it will work as expected. also, my blood pressure was up. i tend to believe that my stress level is through the fucking roof anymore, so that is to blame for all of this. my weight was down, so that was probably the only positive. and, now i'm waiting for a doctor's office to call and schedule my colonoscopy. given that i have colon cancer on both sides of my family, i can't wait to get this done. i mean, i'm already 99% sure what is going to kill me one day. fuck, might as well make it 100%. so yeah, not exactly what i was hoping for.

the New York Yankees won last night over Seattle, 3-1. hopefully, they will do it again tonight.
