thankfully, i'm full of patience

the Dayton Flyers lost last night to Auburn 73-60. that stops Dayton's 16 game home winning streak. first off, Dayton simply wasn't good enough in this game. defense was atrocious at times and they settled for way too many jump shots. secondly, the officiating was horrific. Dayton has the younger brother of the Greek Freak that plays in the NBA. for the second time that i can remember this season, Kostas got a foul called on him simply because of who he was. i am so fucking tired of refs that call shit because they think something is going to happen. how the fuck do you get a charge called on you when you don't touch the fucking player on your drive to the hoop? this has been my bitch for years now. since refs can't keep up with better and faster athletes, they try to anticipate shit. instead of the novel fucking approach of simply calling what you see. thirdly, Dayton's offense is a fucking joke. they will get zoned to death by any coach that can actually coach. Dayton's unwillingness to work the ball inside and out possession after possession slowly put the damn crowd to sleep. i don't think Dayton got closer than 8 in the second half. Dayton's next game will be on Sunday night at Mississippi State. oh joy.

mom got dizzy way too many times last night at the game. i don't think she's ready yet for all the noise and flashing lights, etc.

Total Divas was pretty good last night.

NXT was pretty good as well last night.

the Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live at the Apollo certainly lifted my mood some last night. as mom put it, no man on earth should have that much energy.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, the season finale of The Chris Gethard Show, Gotham, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon and Life in Pieces.

it was rainy this morning here, so my bones have been achy all damn day. that's always fun. i wanted to get some poems ready for next week but i haven't felt like it at all. hell, i don't really feel like doing this blog but i know there's plenty of Russians looking at it each day.

Waffle House was rather interesting last night. the cook was a young black man. i was immediately interested to see how the employees would interact. the one thing i have noticed about this town is most people have no clue how to act around a black person. i picked up on that when our waitress changed her attitude once he was no longer in the kitchen. it's fucking amazing how often people around here have no damn clue what being racist actually is. i really hope this town gets more integrated over time. i'd love to see all the fucking racists flee.

and on that lovely note, until tomorrow kids...

took a trip back into the past last night

for some damn reason, Menards has my mother's shipping address as our old farm, but the bills all come to the house. mom alerted them to this when she ordered some things from there, but of course Menards did nothing. so, mom saw last night that it was delivered to the farm. i told her we might as well drive out there, it's probably still on the fucking porch.

i can't believe the number of trees that have been cut down. they have cleared so much and wonder why it floods down at the end of the lane. the family living there now have done a pretty nice job with the house. they are running a little business there as well. the upgrades they made to the porch and summer kitchen was stuff we always wanted to do but never had the money for it. and yes, the package was right where i thought it would be. after that trip, mom wanted Taco Bell. that pretty much summed up a night in a small town.

i think i finished the 8th poem i wrote last night around 3 in the morning. i definitely hopped on a wave last night and rode the fucker to death. i typed those 8 poems up this morning. a few are really fucking good. the total brings me to more than 30 poems this month. so, that goal has been met. i think i will do some poetry submissions in early December and call it a year then. i'd like to actually trick myself into thinking i'm looking forward to Christmas this year.

my plan mostly worked yesterday. i figured if i did the grocery shopping while Manchester United was playing, they would do well. sure enough, when i got home from the store they were up 3-0. they eventually won the game over Watford 4-2. that cuts the deficit in the league back down to 5 points. hopefully City will fuck up today and leave it there.

the grocery store wasn't nearly as crowded as i thought it was going to be yesterday. i was able to find everything on the list. i had to restock the freezer, but i was able to keep the bill under $140.

the New York Rangers lost last night to Florida 5-4. they were in a 3-0 hole after the first period. i guess when you grind your goalie into the ground with so many damn starts in a row, it's bound to happen. but, the Rangers also have had a shitty tendency this season to start games sometime around the second period. it's not a way to have a successful season, i know that much. the Rangers got back into the game, eventually tying the game at 4-4. they should have had the lead by then, but the replay officials in Toronto have no damn clue what goalie interference actually is. Florida scored late in the 3rd to win the game 5-4. i would have loved for the Rangers to at least get a point out of that game. the division is going to be fucking crazy this season and every single fucking point will matter.

Smackdown was pretty good last night. i do love where they are going with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

205 Live was pretty good last night as well.

Drop the Mic was really fucking good last night.

The Voice was its usual travesty last night. what happens nearly every fucking season on this show is some lousy fucking country singer will stay and some black soul singer will be voted off. it never fails.

mom and i are going to the Dayton Flyers vs. Auburn game tonight. i think she's feeling up to it. it's supposed to be close to a sellout tonight. Dayton has never lost to Auburn, although i think that might change tonight. the game is on nationally on CBS Sports Network.

that's all for me today kids. hopefully i will be on here tomorrow with good news.

trying to get everything done at once...

i feel like at times i'm busier than nine cats covering up shit in a windstorm. i figure that's punishment for all the apathy over the years. if my mother did anything right, it was to teach me about choices and consequences. she never did like that i bent towards evil and couldn't give two shits about what happened. it's a good plan if you want to die in your early 20's. that was the plan originally. i have no damn clue what the fuck happened, 20 some years later.

just had a guy out at the house doing the check up on our furnace. nothing is wrong and it is running smoothly, but we should get a new one. you know, since the one here is over 20 years old. mom is going to consider it. i look at it as i have plenty of sweatshirts.

The Voice was pretty good last night. i have no clue who is going home tonight.

i did watch Meth Storm last night on HBO. you talk about a fucking depressing documentary. thank fucking god i don't live in Arkansas.

Monday Night Raw was a bit predictable last night. i really didn't mind as i was flipping channels anyway.

Manchester United plays this afternoon at Watford. this will be a tricky game. plus, it won't be on television here, so i'm planning on being at the grocery store while the game is on. hopefully that works.

i will eat lunch before i hit the grocery store. i have learned my lesson about shopping for food while hungry.

i will probably send out some poems tomorrow morning. i will be on here before the Dayton Flyers game tomorrow night.

and i did give into a cyber Monday deal last night from WWE. i couldn't pass up a t-shirt and a Funko Pop for under $20. Merry Christmas to me.

it had to stop sometime...

the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday to the Rams, 26-20. given the injuries the Saints had on defense going into the game, the result did not surprise me. i wasn't that surprised that the offense struggled for a good portion of the game either. what did surprise me was why the coach waited so long to just let it loose and go. once it looked like he just let Drew Brees do what he wanted, things started to click. oh well, now the fun really begins. they are still tied for first place in the division, with the team they playing next, Carolina.

the New York Rangers started slow once again yesterday, falling behind to Vancouver 2-0 before they scored. the Rangers quickly tied it early in the 3rd, only to give back the lead 40 seconds later. thankfully, they tied the game later in the period to send the game to overtime. nothing got settled in OT, so the game went to a shootout. the Rangers went second for a change and ended up winning in the 7th round of the shootout. that's 8 straight wins at home. they play again tomorrow night at home against Florida.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was fucking hilarious last night. i can't wait for the season finale next week.

Shameless was excellent last night.

SMILF was great as well. it reminded me that i was baptized on April Fool's Day when i was a kid. the irony makes me smile to this day.

and the drinking continues...

i'm at the point in my life where the days just start to blend together into one long narrative. but, i know when i start breaking out the gin, these are the days where you better have pen and paper ready.

i had a phrase stuck in my head last night coming home from the basketball game about bloodshot eyes. i was up until 4 in the morning trying to figure out how to make it into a poem. 4 hours of sleep later and the first thing that comes out of my mouth when i got up from the bed was this brilliant first stanza. sure, now you figure it out. needless to say, i wrote 3 poems this morning. i typed them up as well. they are pretty good.

back to yesterday...

Manchester United won 1-0 yesterday. the game was pretty fucking boring. but, i'll gladly take the 3 points.

i wasn't very happy when Ohio State was down 14-0 yesterday. thankfully, that didn't last long. and just like it has been for the last few years, that team up North found a way to lose again. that almost makes up for all the times they won in my youth. Ohio State won 31-20. of course, J.T. Barrett got injured in the game. and then everyone found out that the injury actually happened in the pregame warmups when he got hit by a golf cart. lovely. hopefully he'll be good to go next week in the Big Ten Championship game. but, with Alabama losing last night, any chance of Ohio State making the final 4 is gone now. so if they beat Wisconsin, i doubt the Big Ten will have anyone in the final 4.

the injury bug has hit the Dayton Flyers. when i saw they were going to be without 2 starters last night, i was fearing the worst. i went to the game by myself as mom wasn't feeling that well. the game was on television, so i don't think she was upset about not going. i'm sure she would have loved to see the lady behind me spill her nachos in our row. she missed me by a foot or so. 15 inches from jail. Dayton got off to a slow start but eventually got it rolling. but, since all college basketball referees suck, foul problems eventually started. that allowed Akron to have the lead at halftime. Dayton came out on fire in the second half and went on a run. eventually, it was enough of a run that by the end of the game, all of the walk-ons were playing. Dayton defeated Akron 73-60. they next will play at home on Wednesday against Auburn.

i only had two victory drinks last night. i've carried the one over to today, just in case...

ROH was excellent last night.

the New Orleans Saints are on the road today at the Los Angeles Rams. this will be a major test to see how good the Saints really are. if they win today, i'll foolishly start thinking about the playoffs and a Super Bowl appearance.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

and hopefully by the end of it i will be drunk and feeling fine.

before i get to the busy day...

the two episodes of NJPW were excellent last night.

congrats to my old high school for advancing to the state title game in football.

the New York Rangers won 2-1 last night against Detroit in OT. they play again on Sunday afternoon against Vancouver.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

Manchester United plays here in a little bit against Brighton & Hove Albion. i'm hoping the boys can get a big victory today.

after that, it will be the game. Ohio State vs. the school up North. if Ohio State wants any chance to make the Final 4 in college football this season, they MUST WIN today.

tonight, the Dayton Flyers play at home against Akron. i'm hoping to see a better team than i saw on television playing down in Charleston.

i have no idea what mom will want to do after the game. i'm guessing a trip to Waffle House, but i have no clue how she will be feeling. for that matter, if a couple losses happen today, i doubt i will want to be seen in public either.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

well, i guess i have shopped on Black Friday now...

mom made a purchase online last night from Office Depot. the paper she got for the printer had to be picked up at the store. so, she got the notification this morning that it was ready at the store. we went this afternoon to get that and looked around at some of the other shit on sale. after that, we went to Dollar Tree to find some toys and some new cooking utensils. mom likes to use things until they basically are nothing but shit. she was bitching about having a hard time about getting the beaters out of the hand mixer. i laughed and said the hand mixer is only 40 fucking years old, i can't imagine what the problem is. and all her table and tea spoons are so damn old you can't read what size they are anymore. so we looked for some of that shit and found some good shit, Betty Crocker even. plus, we just found out last night that one of the kids (i guess he's a cousin or something, fuck, i've never met him) likes dinosaurs and i remembered seeing some while we were there at Dollar Tree earlier in the week. sure enough. so, i have finally shopped on Black Friday.

Thanksgiving went pretty well here. everything mom made was good. my sister has not manged to get on my nerves yet. and amazingly, my blood sugar was actually a decent number this morning. maybe i'm figuring this shit out now.

Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.

Life in Pieces was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be two episodes of NJPW.

i'll be watching the New York Rangers take on Detroit for most of the evening. hopefully the boys can get another victory.

i had some tasty leftovers for lunch today and i'm guessing there will be more leftovers for dinner.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow before Manchester United plays. that game will go right into the Ohio State vs. that team up North game at Noon. and since mom and i will be at the Dayton vs. Akron college basketball game tomorrow night, i'd rather do the blog before i could possible be fucking livid to the nth degree.

i did get my copy of Ally Malinenko's new book, Fitting the Ocean in Your Mouth today in the mail. i'm probably going to read a little of that tonight. i told Ally that if i find the time and get the book done before the end of the month, i may try to do a little review of it on here. so stay tuned.

i hope everyone had a good holiday. i hope if you went out shopping either last night or today, you found everything you were looking for. and to anyone reading this in Egypt, i doubt i have any words that could do your sorrow and grief any good.

now that it seems the world has got back to its normal, bloody self, i hope everyone has a great weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving

or for the people reading this outside of the USA, happy Thursday. i'm not planning on doing much this Thanksgiving. as a type 2 diabetic, i won't be pigging out like the good old days. as an apathy riddled poet, i should be gathering poems for a new book, but i won't be. i figure most of today will be napping and working on my bad back. that and watching some football.

my sister came down last night. we spent most of the rest of the evening chatting and catching up. and making sure we didn't get mom the same things for Christmas.

the New York Rangers whipped Carolina last night, 6-1. that was pleasant to watch.

A Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving Special was pretty funny last night.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows this week.

NXT was excellent last night. i could watch Johnny Wrestling and Pete Dunne wrestle a thousand times and never get bored.

the calm before the storm...

i was having a pretty fucking good day until Manchester United decided to take a big shit on it. more on that later.

i went to the bank and made a really nice deposit, mostly because mom realized she hadn't paid in over a month. from there, i went to the drugstore to look for a few things. they were overpriced on most things, even with a damn sale. from there, it was on to Dollar General. i live in a town with 2 different dollar stores. both of them are way better than they should be. i was able to get what mom needed plus get a reasonably priced toy for the Toys for Tots collection at the Dayton Flyers game this Saturday. i figure a Darth Vader toy for $3.50 does it for me.

once i got back home, i wrote 5 poems. i typed them up a little later and i really like them. i'm hopefully going to send out some more poems before the month ends.

then i decided to get my damn Christmas shopping done. if everything gets shipped as planned, i'll have everything here by the first week of December. and once mom pays me for the two things i bought that she's going in on, i would have bought 16 things for about $50. thank god for Amazon gift cards. that made up for about $175 of the cost.

now, on to Manchester United. all they needed today was a fucking draw at Basel and they would advance out of the group stage of the Champions League. they had chances galore in the first half. they hit a couple posts, missed some point blank chances, etc, etc. and then the second half happened. Basel outplayed them by a fucking mile. and sure enough, they scored in the 89th minute to win 1-0. now United is still up by 3 points in the group and will likely advance. but i would have loved to get it out of the fucking way today. now it won't happen until early December. great.

Smackdown was pretty good last night. 3 more women from NXT showed up. i love that they called Ruby Riot up. she was one of my favorites on the indies when she was known as Heidi Lovelace. and if they allow Sarah Logan to be just a little like Crazy Mary Dobson as she was known in the indies, i will be a happy camper.

205 Live was pretty good as well last night.

The Voice was ok last night. i didn't like team Jennifer's performance at all. and i really couldn't stand who got sent home last night. America's racism shines through once again.

the season finale of The Jim Jefferies show was fantastic last night. i can't wait for them to come back in 2018.

Drop the Mic was really fucking good last night.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Carolina. they will be without their captain as he is injured. i'll be really interested to see how the defense plays without him.

my sister is coming down for the holiday, at least part of it. mom is in cooking mode at the moment, which is rare anymore.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow. at least before the football games start.

i now have to finish vacuuming the house. mom only did the part she wanted to do. joy.

now i remember why i hate this time of year...

mom made a scroll for a grocery list since she wants to cook for Thanksgiving and thought it would be best that she went along with me to get the groceries. i really didn't mind until my left leg started killing me while i was pumping gas before going into the grocery store. when my arthritis flares up in my left hip, it feels like the hip is basically getting ready to pop out and drop me to the ground. good times. what i normally do when this happens is either sit or just keep moving and mindfuck the pain away. mom of course doesn't go grocery shopping much anymore, so she more or less stopped every few feet to look at shit. i believe most people could sense my agony as i walked around the store. and of course, there was the beautiful black woman that i passed three different times. sure, i noticed the ring on her finger. like i have morals.

i did pick up some cinnamon whiskey while at the grocery store. i'm hoping that helps me get through the holidays. we were in the store for over a hour. i believe we found everything. mom found a gift card she got for the store last year. that certainly came in handy when it was time to pay.

i did the trash when i got home. my hip is still killing me. so if you notice a few more motherfuckers more than usual in this blog, you'll understand why.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i love that Paige is back. i love that she brought friends from NXT with her. i love that Roman Reigns is the new Intercontinental champion. i think we all know that Vince wants him to take on Brock at WrestleMania again, so the slow build begins now.

The Voice was pretty good last night. i think what most people tend to forget when it comes to the live shows... song choice is the key. if you sing something obscure, you better kill it. if you sing something impossible, you better not blow it. sadly, too many of them last night made the wrong song choice. here was a few i really liked.

Baltimore Rising was very good last night. i wish more white people would actually give enough of a shit to really watch these types of things and truly try to better understand blacks in this country. it would change so much. and then if we could actually get the police to understand...

David Letterman: The Mark Twain Prize was really fucking funny last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Voice, Drop the Mic and The Jim Jefferies Show. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i think i have figured out what i'm getting people for Christmas. i might get that out of the fucking way tomorrow. also, if you happen to be a lucky friend or fan, and i happen to have your mailing address, you'll be getting something as well.

i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the bank and probably after Manchester United plays in the Champions League.

miracles do exist...

when the New Orleans Saints were down 15 with less than 3 minutes left yesterday, i wanted to stay optimistic, but i figured the winning streak was coming to an end. then, Drew Brees remembered he's one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. the Saints tied the game at 31. the defense finally started to get some stops and the Saints eventually won in OT, 34-31. i never saw them being 8-2 at this point of the season. they will have a pretty big test next week on the road at the Rams.

the Dayton Flyers showed their youth yesterday against Old Dominion. they got killed on the boards and they settled for way too many jump shots. i believe in 4 games this season, they have already tried 100 three pointers. that's truly fucking insane. they don't shoot well enough to even justify the thought. they lost yesterday 75-67. they play again at home on Saturday against Akron.

the New York Rangers won last night 3-0 over Ottawa. i watched the highlights and enjoyed a drink as well.

WWE Survivor Series was pretty good last night. i liked most of the show. and i think most of it went the way i would have done it. the ending of HHH screwing Kurt Angle and then getting the shit beat out of him by Braun Strowman should make Monday Night Raw pretty interesting tonight.

i finally got to see ROH last night. it was excellent.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was really funny last night. just two more episodes left.

Shameless was excellent last night.

SMILF was great last night.

i got the gift card to Amazon.com i ordered with my reward points in the mail today. so, i might get my damn Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving this year.

there was a stray cat walking up our driveway when mom and i got home from shopping today. i laughed and sped up the car. i find it kind of funny that after all those years and stray cats on the farm, we move to the suburbs and sure enough, another damn stray cat finds us.

i will be on here tomorrow after grocery shopping. i believe i have to get the fresh stuff mom wants to make Thanksgiving dinner with.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

nothing quite like raining sideways...

we got 1.2 inches of rain last night. it felt much worse than that because of the wind. there was times where i felt like something was surely going to blow off the house when the wind was really howling. those are the nights where i don't miss living on the farm.

Manchester United won yesterday over Newcastle, 4-1. Pogba is back. Zlatan is back. and imagine that, so are the goals. they next play on Wednesday in the Champions League.

Ohio State whipped Illinois yesterday, 52-14. honestly, it never felt that close. the win gives them the East division and a game against Wisconsin for the Big 10 championship. but first is the game next week at that school up north.

NXT Takeover: War Games was amazing last night. the War Games match itself was nuts. the women's title match was so damn good. i was a little surprised that the title changed hands on the men's side, but given Drew's injury, it makes sense. the match between Velveteen Dream and Aleister Black was holy shit great. all in all, a really good show and once again it put the main roster behind the 8 ball tonight for Survivor Series.

Night of Too Many Stars was a bit of a clusterfuck last night. at times it was really funny and at times it simply did not work at all. plus, the show ran long, so i think i missed the last 20 minutes or so.

ROH was supposed to record last night but for some fucking reason i ended up recording a damn infomercial. so, i have it set to record later today and maybe i'll get around to watching it tonight or Monday.

Austin City Limits last night was highlights from the 2017 Americana Music Awards.

Saturday Night Live was great last night. i wasn't sure what to expect with Chance the Rapper hosting but he was excellent. probably one of the better shows of the season so far.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Curb Your Enthusiasm, Shameless and SMILF. i'll be watching WWE Survivor Series for most of the evening.

the New Orleans Saints play at home today against Washington. hopefully the Saints can keep the winning streak going.

the Dayton Flyers play in the 5th place game today down in Charleston against Old Dominion. i'd really like to see Dayton win and come back home with a winning record in the tournament.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Ottawa. i doubt i will watch anything more than the highlights from this one.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday will be even better.

he's off having a beer with Bon now...

when i saw the news this morning that Malcolm Young had died, i was a bit sad. dementia is what my father died with. and 64 is way too young to go anymore. but, when i think about the music that Malcolm helped create in AC/DC, i can't help but think how that helped spark my creative fire, fueled the dreams of becoming a musician and got me through my youth. rest in peace Malcolm, tell Bon hello. thank you for the music.

Dayton rebounded nicely from its first loss of the season to beat Ohio University last night, 79-65. they got a much better whistle in this game and it showed. Josh Cunningham had 18 points and 19 rebounds last night. Darrell Davis, the only senior on the team, scored a career high 25 points in the victory. of course, since it's Dayton, there was an injury in the game. Trey Landers sprained his ankle and only played 4 minutes. he was on crutches and in a walking boot after the game. i'm hoping that's just precautionary shit. Jordan Davis played 30 minutes because of the injury. he had 10 points in his 3rd game in college. that certainly made his family and friends in attendance happy, that's for sure. Dayton will play in the 5th place game on Sunday against Old Dominion.

the New York Rangers lost to Columbus 2-0 last night. i didn't watch much of the game. i usually don't when the two teams play because i have to watch the Columbus broadcast (stupid broadcasting rules). the announcers for Columbus fucking suck. the Rangers will play at home on Sunday against Ottawa.

congrats to Trotwood for beating CJ last night 44-14. that makes it 8 straight years that Trotwood has made it to the state final 4 in football. when i went there, the football team was lucky to win 5 games at best. now, if they aren't playing around Thanksgiving, the season is a disappointment. 2 more wins until another state title.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

NJPW was excellent last night.

the season finale of Real Time with Bill Maher was fucking hilarious last night. the show returns in January.

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live, ROH, Austin City Limits and Night of Too Many Stars. i'll be watching NXT Takeover: War Games on WWE Network for most of the evening.

Manchester United plays today at home against Newcastle. i'm really hoping the boys can get a victory.

Ohio State plays today at home against Illinois. it's Senior Day, or how i like to call it, you weren't good enough to leave early day. hopefully they won't be looking ahead towards the game next week with that team up north.

i just put all my spices in the chili i've made for today. i'll probably do some cornbread later this evening. that should be a good dinner for what might be a nasty night of weather.

we're supposed to get 60 mph winds today and then maybe some fucking snow before the winds move out of the region. just fucking lovely.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow before the New Orleans Saints play in the afternoon.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.
