let's finish the month with some snow...

today has been one of those days where, as a poet, you try to ride the fucking wave as long as you can. you have lived long enough to know you are going to fall off, but it's how you climb back on the board that matters.

i started this day of with 15 poems getting rejected. oh joy. The Poetry Jukebox sent back my submission saying they weren't taking submissions at this time. it would have been helpful if they would have said that on their website, instead they want to assume that everyone has Twitter. Academy Of The Heart And Mind rejected the 5 i sent them. but, they did confirm to me that the poem of mine they still haven't published (they originally told me it was going to be published in late January) will be published April 8th. so, i have that to look forward to.

i wrote 10 poems today while mom was having her physical therapy. i'll type those 10 up sometime tonight. that gives me 110 poems for the month. not bad, unless they all get rejected.

the New York Rangers lost in OT last night to Tampa Bay, 4-3.

the season finale of The Masked Singer was great last night. i wanted The Bee to win, but she finished 3rd. i was happy that The Monster won in the end. and i had all 3 finalists correct.

NXT was excellent last night.

Drop The Mic was pretty good last night.

You're The Worst was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Gotham, Will & Grace, Lip Sync Battle, Better Things and Desus & Mero.

going out in a rush

as February winds down, i got my ass in gear today and got 49 poems out into the world. and i did it with my old mouse that i had been at war with. my new one died the other day and i was worried this old fucker was going to let me down. but, i went a little slower than usual and sure enough, not one fucking problem.

i sent 3 poems to Yellow Mama; 5 poems each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Academy Of The Heart And Mind, Ink Pantry and Live Nude Poems; 6 poems to Record Magazine; 10 poems each to Stanzaic Stylings and The Poetry Jukebox. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

mom's doctor's appointment went pretty good today. she was able to see her MRI and her CT Scan. everything in the scan looks fine. she will get checked again in a year to make sure nothing is going on. i think with her MRI she could clearly see why she has pain in her legs with all the discs that are out of place. she's got some serious nerve pain going on. i know exactly what she is dealing with. it fucking sucks.

the Dayton Flyers played an unbelievable first half last night at UMass. i think they shot like 80% from the field or something like that. even when they took the foot off the gas in the second half, they coasted to a victory. Dayton won last night 72-48. that's how you get your first victory in 15 years at a place. Dayton plays at home on Friday night against Rhode Island.

Smackdown was crazy last night. i hated that Vince took Kofi Kingston out of the title match against Daniel Bryan. but, when he put Kevin Owens in the match instead, i lost my shit. KO is one of my favorites of the last decade easily. i can't wait for Fastlane now. the whole show was great.

205 Live was really good last night as well.

The Voice was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, the season finale of The Masked Singer, You're the Worst and Drop the Mic. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i watched NXT UK this afternoon. it was very good.

i didn't get to see the Manchester United game against Crystal Palace this afternoon. i tried to follow it online as i was sending out poems. i was a little worried about the game given all the injuries United has. silly me, Ole is at the wheel. United won 3-1.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Tampa Bay. it will be interesting to see how the Rangers play now after the trades.

the Yankees lost to Detroit today 10-4. probably a good thing i didn't watch that.

apparently, 3 hours of sleep only gets you so far...

i had all these grand plans to get all this shit done this morning. apparently, going to bed at 4 in the morning and waking back up at 7 doesn't exactly provide enough energy for a day. i didn't get out of bed until after 10 this morning. but, i did manage to get some shit done.

i did type up the 12 poems i wrote yesterday. i also figured out where my next 49 poems are going. i'm going to get those out before this month is over.

i helped mom vacuum the house today and the trash is already picked up and down to the curb.

Monday Night Raw was spectacular last night. Roman Reigns is back. his leukemia is into remission again. Ronda Rousey basically laid the title down last night and told them to reinstate The Man. and the ending of the show was fucking great. to watch Batista drag out Ric Flair on his 70th birthday to call out HHH is a brilliant way to get me interested in a WrestleMania match between two old friends. easily the best show Raw has done in 2019.

The Voice was pretty good last night. i do like that John Legend is on the show now.

the Yankees were rained out today.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Smackdown. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

happy trade deadline day...

today was the NHL trade deadline day. i did expect the New York Rangers to make some moves and they did. they traded Kevin Hayes to Winnipeg for a 1st round pick, a conditional 4th round pick (if the Jets win the Stanley Cup) and Claude Lemieux's son, Brendan. if he plays anything like his father, i'm going to enjoy seeing that kind of asshole playing for the Rangers. the Rangers traded Adam McQuaid to Columbus for a prospect and two draft picks (4th and 7th round, 2019). i honestly didn't expect them to get that much for Adam, so i am pleased. it will be interesting to see how the team plays the rest of the season now that the deadline has passed. hopefully, they get some good players with those draft picks, sign the right free agents in the summer and the rebuild doesn't last nearly as long as i feared it would.

the season finale of True Detective last night was great. a good mind fuck right up until the very end.

Crashing was really good last night.

High Maintenance was very funny last night.

Total Bellas was pretty funny last night.

Shameless was excellent last night.

Black Monday was fucking hilarious last night.

SMILF was very good last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll watch Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i didn't get to see the New York Yankees game today, but i know they won 3-0 over Toronto.

i did write 12 poems today while mom had her physical therapy. that puts me at 100 for this month. i'm planning on typing those poems up tomorrow morning. i also think i will get another round of submissions ready to go. hell, if i get a wild hair up my ass, those poems might go out tomorrow morning.

i will probably be on here in the afternoon tomorrow.

not the Sunday i was hoping for...

oh where to begin...

i did go to the Dayton Flyers game yesterday. thank god Dayton's cold spell came in the first half. they battled back in the last 3 minutes of the first half to take the lead into halftime. and thankfully, they played much better in the second half. they greatly improved their odds of finishing in the top 4 of the conference and getting a first round bye in the A10 tournament. Dayton beat Saint Louis 70-62.

the New York Rangers won yesterday against the Devils, 5-2. after the game, they traded one of my favorite Rangers ever, Mats Zuccarello, to Dallas for draft picks. now, i have to root for Dallas to do well and for Mats to sign there so both the picks will become first round picks. the Rangers lost today at Washington, 6-5 in OT. i do expect the Rangers to make a few more trades before the deadline tomorrow.

ROH was really good last night.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday to Boston and won today against Tampa Bay. hopefully, i will be in the mood for baseball when the season starts.

i did not sleep well at all last night. i got up this morning and realized i had missed the first 30 minutes of the Manchester United game. United had to use all 3 subs in the first half today because of injuries. fucking crazy. even more crazy was United held Liverpool to only 1 shot for the entire game. incredible defending by a group that can't play defense. final score was 0-0. considering United played most of the game with 10 1/2 men because of Marcus Rashford being injured and not being able to be subbed off, i am so fucking proud of them today. i would have loved a victory, but their effort today was unreal.

waking up with an elephant on my back...

i am still planning on going to the basketball game today. hopefully, that will happen.

NJPW was really good last night.

WOW was good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was fucking hilarious last night.

2 Dope Queens was fucking great last night.

the New York Rangers play today at home against New Jersey. i believe the Rangers have scratched the players they are planning on trading by Monday. that's probably for the best as they do need to continue the rebuild.

the Dayton Flyers play today at home against Saint Louis. i'd love to see Dayton win and get a little revenge for Saint Louis destroying them a few weeks ago. Obi Toppin is one dunk away from equaling the season record for Dayton.

the New York Yankees play their first spring training game today against Boston. hard to believe it's time for baseball again.

now i remember why i hate people

after going to 5 different stores today to get all the shopping done, i remember why i never loved doing this shit before. two assholes together does not make a party. i admit, i am an asshole. i don't like people, i don't smile, i'm not overly polite and i don't have much time for fake shit. the world of 2019 is mostly fake shit. that's why i laughed my ass off today when i saw this absolutely stunning woman in the grocery store, i mean drop dead fucking gorgeous, and she looked so fucking pissed to be where she was at that exact moment. i howled with laughter. and with all the shit we needed, plus gas, i probably dropped a good $200 today. thank god my credit is fucking good.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

The Big Bang Theory was hilarious last night.

Young Sheldon was very good last night.

Lip Sync Battle was really good last night.

Gotham was great last night.

Will & Grace was fucking crazy last night.

Desus & Mero was very good last night. so happy they are on Showtime now.

a productive laundry day...

i have my last load of clothes in the dryer. it was sunny today, so my arthritis wasn't flaring while trying to fold clothes. good times.

some poetry news and shit to get to first today. i wrote 10 poems yesterday while mom was having her physical therapy session. this session had to do with her shoulder. (it's in the process of freezing and there is an issue with the rotator cuff) i typed the 10 poems up last night and really like them. that brings me up to 88 poems for the month of February. i think i will probably get to 100 before the month is over.

i also heard back from Dan at Loch Raven Review on my poetry submission from back in December 2018. they decided to pass on the 6 poems i sent. i'll laugh when i get all of those published someplace else.

The Masked Singer was crazy last night. i got both of the singers that got eliminated correct. i'm pretty sure i know the 3 that are left as well.

You're The Worst was fucking hilarious last night.

Drop the Mic was pretty good last night.

NXT was really good last night.

about 5 inches of snow, joy...

the guys that shoveled us out this morning said we got around 5 inches of snow overnight. i was hoping it would be melting by now, but it isn't. so, that should be a fun drive to take mom to physical therapy this afternoon.

the Dayton Flyers had a 19 point lead last night at Davidson. they did everything possible to piss that lead away. it's so fucking obvious that Dayton's coach doesn't have a killer instinct at all. the goal when you're up 19 on the road in the second half should be to do everything possible to make that lead 30. instead, Dayton chose to hold the ball, bleed the clock and take themselves out of any rhythm. just so fucking stupid. Davidson eventually tied the game and considering their home winning streak, probably should have won. Josh Cunningham made a free throw with 2.2 seconds left in the game as Dayton won, 74-73.

the New York Rangers got 43 saves from The King last night and won at Carolina, 2-1.

Smackdown was really good last night.

205 Live was good last night as well.

just a little busy...

i wanted to start this blog way earlier today, but with a big ass storm coming, i had to get some shit done today rather than tomorrow. i'm really thankful mom's ct scan didn't go that long at all. that gave me the chance to type up poems, go to the bank and get the trash done all before the storm. but, since Dayton plays Davidson here in about 20 minutes, there's no damn way this blog is going to be done before the game starts. so, you'll get the slightly distracted poet today.

i typed up the 11 poems i wrote yesterday late last night. i wrote 13 poems today while mom was having her ct scan. i typed those up after lunch at Waffle House. out of the 24, i do think i have some winners. i really should try to get another batch ready before the end of the month.

Monday Night Raw was very good last night. i loved seeing the guys from NXT up there and see them winning as well.

i'm running on 4 hours of sleep...

i often joke about how i will sleep when i am dead. today is one of those days when it is no fucking joke. i got to bed at 5 this morning and was up a little after 9. took mom to her 2 appointments today, wrote 11 poems while waiting at physical therapy and now i'm trying to get a blog done before wrestling comes on. i figure at some point, exhaustion will set in. or maybe not.

the New York Rangers lost yesterday at Pittsburgh 6-5. it was an entertaining game, and i couldn't give two shits if the Rangers win or lose anymore this season. my mind is more fixed on who are they going to trade at the trade deadline 7 days from now.

WWE Elimination Chamber was really good last night. i love who they made the first female tag team champions. i love that Finn Balor won the Intercontinental championship. i love that The Miz and Shane lost the Smackdown tag team titles, and i absolutely loved Daniel Bryan keeping the WWE Championship. Kofi Kingston was amazing again in the main event. and i fucking love that The Man showed up and beat the shit out of Charlotte and Ronda Rousey.

Total Bellas was pretty good last night.

True Detective was great last night. i fucking can't wait for the season finale next week.

Crashing was good last night.

High Maintenance was excellent last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking hilarious as usual. so happy that the show is back.

Shameless was really good last night, especially the ending.

Black Monday was really, really good last night.

SMILF was better than usual last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i didn't get to see any of the game, but Manchester United did defeat Chelsea today, 2-0 in the FA Cup. Ole is the first manager to win at Chelsea since Sir Alex. this puts United in the quarterfinals against Wolves. that won't be an easy trip. i do love the response from the team after losing to PSG. next will be a match at home against Liverpool.

it snowed for most of today. thankfully, it didn't really accumulate.
