all it takes is one bad apple...

i got up at 6 this morning. i couldn't sleep worth a shit, so i figured lets just get going so i know i am ready when mom has her doctor's appointment. we left on time, got there early and then mom forgot what floor the office was on. she thought it was on 2. it was on 3. thankfully, we were there early enough it didn't really matter. the doctor told her she really doesn't have any options anymore with her Meniere's Disease. if the symptoms get worse, they can try some steroids again, but the side effects for a diabetic are not really worth it. after that was over, we went out to breakfast. mom wanted to go to Waffle House. we went and maybe after we were there for 15 minutes or so, there was a rush of people. i told mom it must be lunch time. when we left, i noticed whoever fucking parked next to me was well over the line and probably less than 2 feet from the Highlander. i got mom in fine, since she had a sane person parked on her side. it took me a few minutes and a couple loud fucks to get in. i hope the old fucker enjoys the scratches on his passenger door. in the process, i really fucked up my back. i iced it down as good as i could before i had to go to my doctor's appointment. this was for part 2 of the Hepatitis B vaccine. i got there on time, waited for over 25 minutes, was in the room for 2 minutes and then it was back on the road back home. more or less, i drove for 50 minutes to sit and wait for 25 so i could sign a paper, get a shot and then leave. good times.

i wanted to have this blog done way before now.

thinking about my mortality...

when i saw the news that John Singleton died today, it really hit me. he was just 51. that's only 8 years older than i am. i was in high school when Boyz N the Hood came out. one of those movies that i probably watched a thousand times or so. most of my black friends more or less lived that life. it wasn't necessarily an eye opener for me, but it certainly made me realize the two different worlds in this country. rest in peace John Singleton. you were one of the best storytellers of any generation.

i wrote 2 poems this morning. i had a line pop in my head as soon as i woke up. i haven't done much writing this month. not writer's block per se, just not really in the mood.

speaking of poems, here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

the New York Yankees won yesterday at San Francisco, 11-5, to sweep the series. of course, 2 more injuries yesterday. hopefully, neither are serious. the Yankees are off tonight and start a series tomorrow in Arizona.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs yesterday:

Barry was fucking crazy last night.

Veep was fucking hilarious last night.

Billions was really good last night.

The Chi was excellent as always last night.

tomorrow is going to be a little crazy. mom has a doctor's appointment at 9 in the morning or so. i guess i'll get to bed before my usual 5 in the morning. i go to see my doctor at 2 in the afternoon tomorrow. i'll be on here after that i guess.

we're having lasagna for dinner tonight. i had to help mom put it in the oven as it was way heavier than she could carry.

well, i kind of expected it...

i said yesterday that i wouldn't be in a good mood when writing this blog today, and i was right. i got up early this morning, got some shit done, had breakfast and was ready from the start to watch Manchester United vs. Chelsea. United needed all 3 points in this game if they wanted any realistic chance to finish in the top 4. United started strong, scored early (birthday boy Juan Mata) and was really playing well for most of the first half. then the usually reliable but now playing himself off the team, David De Gea, misplayed a shot and Chelsea scored right before halftime, 1-1. both teams played like shit in the second half. Chelsea, who is already in 4th, knew a draw only helps them. there is no fucking excuse for United showing no fucking urgency in the second half. the game finished 1-1. United is still in 6th place. if they would have taken care of business today, they would have been tied for fourth with 2 games to play. oh well. i can't wait to see who wants to leave once they realize their pay is being reduced for not making the Champions League next season.

the New York Yankees won yesterday at San Francisco, 6-4. Gary Sanchez hit his first career grand slam. hopefully, the Yankees can get the sweep this afternoon.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs yesterday:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs yesterday:

ROH was pretty good last night.

i thought the New Orleans Saints had a pretty good draft, especially considering the limited amount of draft picks they had to begin with. they got 5 players that i really think are going to be able to help them this upcoming season.

here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i'm hoping the weather will finally start to be better here soon.

apparently, i needed some sleep

when i took a piss this morning a little after 7, i decided to go back to bed. mom's been feeling cold, so the house is a fucking inferno at the moment. i suppose this is preparing me for hell i guess. i didn't wake up again until almost noon. so yeah, today is a little behind schedule to say the least.

i have liked the 2 guys the New Orleans Saints have taken so far in the NFL Draft. both of them could be starters their rookie season.

the New York Yankees won last night, 7-3. hopefully, they will win again this afternoon in San Francisco.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

NJPW was really good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was very good last night.

Vice News Tonight had another week of great shows.

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

there's a chance for some more rain this evening. joy.

i did catch up on the shows i missed on Thursday because of the storm. the ending to Young Sheldon was good and Life in Pieces was hilarious.

i'm hoping to spend most of today in my massage chair watching some of the NHL and NBA playoffs.

i'll probably watch a little more of the NFL Draft as well.

i'll be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays. i will probably not be in a good mood.

at least the sun finally decided to show up...

we did have some storms move into the area last night. a county or so north of us had a tornado, so of course the local channels went to that coverage. thankfully, that didn't happen until the series finale of Gotham was over. but, that also meant i didn't get to see Life in Pieces last night. so, i'll have to find that on demand sometime this weekend i guess.

i did watch most of the first round of the NFL Draft last night. i'll probably watch most of the draft tonight as well. i'm hoping the New Orleans Saints get some guys that can fill some holes.

the New York Yankees pissed away a 4-0 lead last night and lost to the Angels, 11-5. they start a series tonight at the San Francisco Giants.

The Big Bang Theory was excellent last night.

the series finale of Gotham was fucking great last night.

Better Things was really funny last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW, Real Time with Bill Maher and Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas.

i'll be flipping between playoff hockey, playoff basketball, baseball and the NFL Draft tonight.

the grocery store was fucking crowded as hell today. of course, the pharmacy didn't have everything ready that i called in. i wasn't in the mood to fucking wait, as i saw how fucking long they were taking with everything. i did manage to get everything on the list and keep it under $100.

of course, i'm not a big fan of eating lunch at 4:30 in the afternoon.

the guy for the windows was here at 9 this morning. i woke up at 8:55. joy. he did see exactly what mom was talking about with the windows. he insulated the spots better and didn't charge mom a thing for it. she was happy about that.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'll shoot for the morning and then hope i get it done before the Yankees play in the afternoon.

the rainy days are the worst...

i woke up this morning and my whole body was aching. i didn't have to look out the window to know it was fucking raining. i know, as i get older, this is only going to get worse. joy.

it's hard to believe the NFL Draft starts tonight. since the New Orleans Saints don't have a first round pick this year, i'm just interested in seeing where the Ohio State players go.

the New York Yankees were behind 5-0 last night. amazingly, they came back to win the game over the Angels, 6-5. they go for the sweep of the series tonight. of course, yet another injury as Clint Frazier is now on the injured list. that's the 15th player so far this season. just fucking crazy.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night. round 2 starts tonight.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

NXT was excellent last night, as was WWE Worlds Collide.

What We Do in the Shadows was fucking hilarious last night.

Dark Side of the Ring was about the murder of Bruiser Brody last night. i still remember watching his matches when i was a kid.

here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Life in Pieces, Better Things and the series finale of Gotham.

i'll be flipping between the NFL Draft, playoff games in the NHL and NBA, some baseball and god knows what else tonight.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after i get back from the grocery store.

mom had the plumber out here this morning to fix our toilet. thankfully, it was an easy fix for him. i think tomorrow morning is the window guy. i don't think mom is happy at how much air gets through windows she paid about the price of a car for.

on top of everything else, it's supposed to rain like a motherfucker tonight. good times.

well, that's one way to waste an afternoon...

i have to admit, i didn't expect Manchester United to do well today. and honestly, it was a no-win situation. defeat City and you have handed the Premier League title to fucking Liverpool. lose to City, and you more or less have handed the title to your noisy neighbors. what concerned me the most after 90 minutes was just how fucking far United is behind City in fucking everything. City won 2-0. i'll be slightly shocked if United wins again this season. joy.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

and here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

the New York Yankees tried to piss away a 7-1 lead last night. thankfully, that didn't happen. the Yankees won their 5th game in a row, defeating the Angels, 7-5. hopefully, they can keep on winning with their makeshift AAA lineup more or less. they do get Gary Sanchez back tonight.

The Voice was good last night, though i was sad to see some of my favorites leave the show. of course, i don't know why i ever think a more talented black artist is going to win against a white female when America is voting.

Smackdown was excellent last night. i always love a good Kevin Owens heel turn.

205 Live was really good last night.

Miz & Mrs. was pretty funny last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was hilarious last night.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

i do plan on watching another Game 7 tonight in the NHL playoffs. and i will check out some of the NBA playoffs as well.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow.

i was up until 5 this morning, chatting with this amazing woman in Colorado that i'd really love to get to know better. of course, she's a bit of an introvert, so this is going to get weird as hell i do believe.

of course, i do love me some weird.

oh, how i love going to bed at 5 in the morning...

as i have grown older, i really hate when the New York Yankees play on the west coast. especially when half the fucking team is injured and the game goes 14 fucking innings. but, the Yankees did find a way to win over the Angels, 4-3 in 14 innings last night. hopefully tonight's game will be over before 3 in the morning.

The Voice was really good last night. i'm really interested to see who will be eliminated tonight.

Monday Night Raw was great last night for two reasons. they set up the match at Money in the Bank to be AJ Styles challenging Seth Rollins for the Universal title. yes please. and then, the new character for Bray Wyatt is so fucking crazy it's great.

there are two Game 7's tonight in the NHL playoffs. i will definitely be checking those out along with some of the NBA playoffs.

i did go to the bank today to make a deposit. i'm a little surprised the weather has been as nice as it has been here today. my bones tell me rain is coming.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm debating if i should do the blog before or after the Manchester derby. chances are, i will need to vent, so here's the preview to the game and i honestly hope i won't be truly fucking pissed on here afterwards.

i have trash to go pick up, so...

Earth Day 2019

i really took this day more seriously when i lived on the farm. i always had plans to take one of the meadows down by the water and plant a ton of trees in it. of course, we then moved and that never happened. i'm actually a little pissed at the number of trees the new owners have cut down. and they wonder why the gravel lane washes out so easy. the weather here is really nice today. i was able to turn off the furnace and open some windows. of course, more rain tomorrow.

Easter was pretty good here yesterday. of course, i think we might be eating leftovers for the rest of the week.

the New York Yankees pissed away a 5-0 lead yesterday to the Royals. thankfully, they came back to win, 7-6 in 10 innings. they start a series tonight out west against the Angels.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs yesterday:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs yesterday:

the WWE Network special on The Shield last night was pretty good. i am really going to miss Dean Ambrose.

Motown 60: A Grammy Celebration was good last night, but it could have been so much better.

mom's doctor's appointment today was quick. i did like that the podiatrist gave mom some helpful info on the new medication she is taking.

since we have so many leftovers from yesterday, we didn't go out to eat afterwards.

nothing says Happy Easter like...

as i was going to bed last night, i started hearing about the bombings in Sri Lanka. when i got up this morning, i saw the headline about a river of blood. nothing quite says Happy Easter like a river of blood flowing. while i have given up on religion and nearly everything that comes with it, i still can't quite wrap my head around the zealots who use their religion to kill others.
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/21/world/asia/sri-lanka-explosion.html

i got up early this morning to watch Manchester United play at Everton. imagine if the players would have woke up early as well. this was easily United's worst performance of the season. they lost 4-0. next up is Manchester City and i fear the worst with that game. and i honestly think now, there is little chance United will finish in the top 4 of the Premier League. so yeah, this is starting as an Easter i would love to forget as soon as possible.

the New York Yankees won yesterday against the Royals, 9-2. of course, there just had to be another fucking injury for the team. this time, it was Aaron Judge. i haven't heard yet how bad his oblique injury is, but i know those don't heal quickly. oh joy. the Yankees can win the series with a victory this afternoon.
