leap this...

last night was one of those nights at UD Arena that i used to daydream about as a child. Dayton whipped Davidson last night, 82-67. the most amazing thing about the game though, was Dayton missed their first 2 point shot last night and then went on to make their next 27 in a row. just imagine shooting 96% in a fucking game. Obi Toppin broke Chris Wright's dunk record last night. the team decided not to cut down the nets after the game, even though they clinched the A10 outright. they have bigger things ahead of them. what a time to be fucking alive. and to top it off, ESPN will be bringing College GameDay to Dayton next Saturday.

i got home and saw the highlights of the New York Rangers 5-2 loss at Philadelphia. i knew the road winning streak was going to end sometime. even worse news, Chris Krieder broke his foot last night blocking a shot. great.

Smackdown was good last night. so i guess Goldberg beat The Fiend so Roman Reigns can take on Goldberg at WrestleMania. at least i know the match i will be taking a piss break in. So, The Fiend will now take on John Cena at WrestleMania and i really hope this is a torch passing match.

205 Live was really good last night.

High Maintenance was brilliant last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was really good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.

i'll probably watch plenty of college basketball and some of the MLS tonight.

i was pleasantly pleased when Liverpool lost today. that brought a smile to my face.

the goal tomorrow is to get the blog done before Manchester United plays at Everton in the morning. i want to do that because the Rangers play at home tomorrow against Philadelphia in the afternoon.

it's supposed to be dry this weekend and get warm enough to melt the snow. of course, it's supposed to rain most of the start of next week. as usual for Ohio, the weather changes just enough to make sure everyone is fucking sick all the time.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

until tomorrow kids...

welcome to a cold Friday...

i would love to wait for it to warm up to go do the grocery shopping, but i would have to wait until Sunday for that to happen. oh well.

the New York Rangers won their franchise's best 9th straight road game at Montreal last night, 5-2. considering they were trailing entering the 3rd period 2-1, i'm pretty damn happy with the result. they play tonight at Philadelphia.

Will & Grace was very funny last night.

Indebted was good last night.

Desus & Mero was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, Real Time with Bill Maher and High Maintenance. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against Davidson. the game is on ESPN2 tonight. Dick Vitale will be broadcasting it, so i'm sure he'll make an ass of himself at some point. if Dayton wins the game, they will clinch the A10 title outright.

i am planning on going to the game, so that's all for me today kids. i need to shower and then get all the grocery shopping done.

i hope everyone has a great Friday. hope your weekend gets off on the right foot.

i should be on here in the early afternoon tomorrow.

with some snow blowing in the air...

it finally decided to be winter around here. i ventured out this afternoon to get the mail and paper. the windchill was certainly winter like. thankfully, we didn't get much snow.

my tickets and parking passes for the First Four arrived today. my sister is going to go with me this year, so that should be interesting.

ok, a ton of wrestling to get to and a holy shit performance from Manchester United, so away we go...

NXT last night was pretty good.

AEW last night was fucking great.

NXT UK was pretty good this morning.

WWE Super Showdown 2020 was ok for the most part until they had Goldberg beat The Fiend. unless Vince has some grand plan in mind for WrestleMania, this is a totally fucking stupid decision.

Miz & Mrs was pretty fucking funny last night.

The Masked Singer was good last night. i knew who The Mouse was as soon as she started to sing.

Manchester United won 5-0 today in the Europa League. they defeated Club Brugge 6-1 on aggregate. they have advanced to the round of 16 now. from the highlights i saw, it looked like a Manchester United team from years ago.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Will & Grace, Indebted and Desus & Mero.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Montreal. i'd love to see their road winning streak continue.

yesterday was 18 years since my stepfather died. my mother is still in the grieving process. this is where my understanding comes in. i know damn well that the process of grief is different for everyone. there are no set times or limits to how long each stage will last. and given her health here recently, trying to keep some laughter in this house is a fucking chore anymore.

i should be on here in the morning tomorrow. my Friday has clusterfuck written all over it. i need to get the grocery shopping done and get it done before i have to leave to go to the Dayton Flyers game tomorrow night. and given that there will still be snow in the air...

until tomorrow kids...

and here comes the snow...

of course, the fuckers left the trash can lid open, so i had to get out there unless i wanted a trash can full of snow. i had to go out and get mom's medicine while it was really coming down. thankfully, the roads were still warm enough that nothing was really sticking. i'm sure when it gets colder tonight the real fun will begin.

another day, another injury for the New York Yankees...

The Voice was really good last night.

WWE Backstage was excellent last night.

the Dayton Flyers played their worst game of the season last night. they couldn't shoot worth a shit, yet managed to defeat George Mason 62-55. that victory gets them a share of the A10 title. if they win at home on Friday night against Davidson, they will have the title outright.

the New York Rangers defeated the New York Islanders 4-3 last night in OT.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Masked Singer, NXT, AEW and Miz & Mrs.

unless i get up really fucking early tomorrow, the blog will happen after WWE Super Showdown tomorrow afternoon. i know Manchester United plays in the Europa League tomorrow afternoon as well.

yet another day of rain...

this has been yet another fucking gloomy day and it just got a little more gloomy for me...

i thought The Voice was pretty good last night. Nick Jonas fits right in with the other coaches.

McMillion$ was excellent last night.

The New Pope was really good last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and WWE Backstage.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at George Mason. they are 12 point favorites. i'm hoping this game will be a blowout.

the New York Rangers play tonight at the New York Islanders. this is a game the Rangers need to win if they want to make a push for the playoffs.

i guess some snow might be on the way for tomorrow. great.

a rainy trade deadline day...

it's the kind of rain that makes my arthritis jump in puddles like a 6 year old. it's pure fucking misery for me. so, i have spent most of today in my massage chair watching all the trade deadline coverage. i am pretty happy with what the New York Rangers did today. they signed Chris Kreider to a 7 year contract extension. they traded Brady Skjei to Carolina for a 1st round draft pick. that frees up money to pay the restricted free agents this summer. it also hopefully will open up a spot for a younger defenseman to come up and play. the only shitty news of the day was the car accident that Igor Shesterkin and Pavel Buchnevich got into last night. Igor has a non-displaced rib fracture and is out for at least two weeks. so, that's going to make the push for the playoffs a bit more tougher now.

here are your XFL highlights from yesterday:

Batwoman was very good last night.

The Outsider was fucking fantastic last night.

Avenue 5 was pretty funny last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was fucking hilarious last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

My Cartoon President was very good last night.

Homeland was great last night.

both episodes of Kidding last night were excellent.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, The New Pope, McMillion$ and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

response from Horror Sleaze Trash

i heard back from AG at Horror Sleaze Trash on my poetry submission from earlier today. my poems "attrition", "at such a young age" and "at the top of their lungs" have been accepted for publication.

response from Red Eft Review

i heard back from Corey at Red Eft Review on my poetry submission from earlier today. my poems "of a broken angel" and "sharing a bottle of wine" have been accepted for publication.

been a busy boy here in the last 15 hours or so...

before i get to everything else, a little poetry news to pass along... i heard back from the folks at Chantarelle's Notebook on my poetry submission from earlier this month. they decided to pass on the 5 poems i sent. so, last night, i decided to figure out where my next batch of poems would be going. i sent out 13 poems earlier today; 3 to Red Eft Review and 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash and Heroin Love Songs v2.0. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

the Dayton Flyers started off a little sluggish yesterday against Duquesne. for only the second time this season, they trailed at halftime. apparently, Coach Grant reamed their asses at halftime and the boys responded. Dayton won 80-70. and given that 3 of the top 4 teams lost yesterday, Dayton could be moving up to the top 4 teams in the country. what a time to be fucking alive. Obi Toppin scored 28 points in the game, which put him over 1,000 points in his career. he achieved that in just 60 games. Dayton plays on Tuesday night at George Mason.

the New York Rangers won last night over San Jose, 3-2. Igor Shesterkin made 44 saves for his 7th win in a row. not bad to win 9 of your first 10 starts in the NHL. suddenly, the Rangers are 4 points out of a playoff spot now, with 2 games in hand. the trade deadline is tomorrow. i have no damn clue if the Rangers are going to sell or buy.

here are your XFL highlights from yesterday:

ROH was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Batwoman, The Outsider, Avenue 5, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Last Week Tonight, Our Cartoon President, Homeland and two episodes of Kidding.

i got almost 5 hours of sleep last night. almost. i did get my laundry done last night as well.

Manchester United defeated Watford today, 3-0. Bruno, Martial and Greenwood got the goals. United are now three points out of 4th place in the league with 11 games to go.

i'll probably flip between sports today and try to get some more rest.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday is even better.

i should be on here in the afternoon tomorrow.

welcome to the weekend...

i'm running on 4 hours of sleep at the moment, so this should be a fun day.

the New York Rangers won their 7th straight road game last night in Carolina, 5-2. that ties the franchise record for a road winning streak. they play tonight at home against San Jose.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night.

High Maintenance was excellent last night.

The Cure: Anniversary 1978 - 2018 Live in Hyde Park London was brilliant last night. i have loved that band since i was a kid.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

the Dayton Flyers put their winning streak on the line this afternoon at home against Duquesne. i'm hoping Dayton puts this game to bed early.

i figure when i get home from the game, i'll probably start my laundry. exactly how i want to spend a Saturday.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the morning.

enjoying the cold sunshine... sort of

this was one of those days where i would love to have some fucking sunglasses because it was really fucking bright out today with the sunshine. but of course, the ones i paid for back in early January haven't been delivered yet. good times.

the grocery store was a bit of a zoo today. but, i thankfully found everything for the most part and did some smart enough shopping to get over $50 off on everything. at least i can still do math in my head.

Young Sheldon was pretty good last night.

The Unicorn was very funny last night.

Will & Grace was fucking hilarious last night.

Indebted was good last night.

Desus & Mero was great last night.

enjoy some music:

i would give my left arm for a good night of sleep...

hard to believe Kurt Cobain would have been 53 today. i still remember the exact spot i was in when i heard he died.

i didn't sleep worth a shit last night. maybe 2 hours at best in my bed. a little over 2 hours in the chair.  i didn't really feel like i was awake until 2 this afternoon. good times.

the New York Rangers won last night in Chicago, 6-3. things are going to get real interesting at the trade deadline if they keep on winning.

The Masked Singer was good last night.

NXT was really good last night.

AEW was excellent last night.

Miz & Mrs was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Young Sheldon, The Unicorn, Will & Grace, Indebted and Desus & Mero.

i already watched NXT UK this afternoon. it was pretty good.

i see the New York Yankees are off to a shitty start regarding last year's biggest fucking problem, injuries. yesterday it was Aaron Judge and today its Luis Severino. fuck me.

Manchester United played a 1-1 draw today in the Europa League. hopefully, that away goal comes in handy next week.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get all the grocery shopping done.

it's way fucking colder today than the last few days. i thought we were supposed to have an early Spring. fucking groundhog.

i could be happy, perhaps with a different soul...

i woke up this morning and my bad back said hello. i chuckled, knowing damn well i didn't have time for that shit today. and as usual, i'm fucking behind. joy.

i did go to Office Depot today. the ink i needed for my printer was all gone. i did get the computer paper i needed and a few other things. it sucks that this store is closing. when it does go away, the closest one to me will probably be a 30 minute drive. joy.

We Are the Dream: The Kids of the Oakland MLK Oratorical Fest was excellent last night.

WWE Backstage was really good last night. i am so happy for Keith Lee.

the Dayton Flyers won last night at VCU for the first time in 5 years, 66-61. Obi Toppin had his worst game of the season. thankfully, the entire nation is learning Dayton is more than just 1 player this season. Dayton is now 24-2, 13-0 in conference and on a 15 game winning streak. they play this Saturday at home against Duquesne.

enjoy some music:
