just love when the mail is here before i wake up...

i got up a little before 10 this morning. i was in the kitchen and noticed one of my neighbors getting mail out of his mailbox. i went down to ours and sure enough, the mail had already been delivered. it never makes any sense anymore. some days it comes before 10 in the morning, other days its 3 or 4 in the afternoon.

I May Destroy You was very good last night.

shopping in the heat... joy

so, mom wanted to go out shopping this afternoon for some new shoes. it was a hot and muggy afternoon, so i was interested to see how this would go. she did find some new shoes for a good price. i did laugh at her glasses fogging up all the time with her mask on. i have worn mine enough that it doesn't happen as much now. after that, we went to lunch at Perkins. it was our first time there since the pandemic started. the menu is way less than before. i thought all the safety precautions looked pretty good. i had a 20% off coupon we used. i could tell by the end of lunch mom was getting tired. the heat was getting to her. so, that ended our day. it won't be a big dinner tonight, that's for sure.

Black Monday was hilarious last night.

The Chi was excellent last night.

the season finale of Penny Dreadful: City of Angels was great last night.

Hightown was good last night. i believe that season finale is in two weeks.

Perry Mason was really fucking good last night.

I'll Be Gone in the Dark was perfect last night. i'm really going to love this one.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

hazy hot and humid. must be summer...

when i went out to get the newspaper this morning, i could feel the humidity already. i knew it was going to be one of those days where it would be best spent just sleeping. oh well.

i laughed when i took my blood sugar this morning. i had a nice stiff drink last night for Manchester United's win, and sure enough, my blood sugar was the lowest it had been in 5 weeks. i told my mother, yet another example why i was supposed to be an alcoholic.

ROH was good last night.

UFC was very good last night.

i made biscuits and gravy for breakfast this morning. i think tonight is going to be some ribs, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. mom has another order from Omaha Steaks coming. i'm trying to make sure she's eating what she wants when she feels like shit. i tell her a morphine drip is probably the best thing for her. she won't listen to me.

way harder than it needed to be...

i was a little surprised that the Manchester United game was on television today. after watching the game, i almost wish it wouldn't have been as i didn't need that fucking stress. United defeated Norwich 2-1 in extra time to advance to the semifinals of the FA Cup. Harry Maguire scored near the death of extra time to win the game. Norwich was down to 10 men for all of extra time. i would have been beyond pissed if the worst team in the league would have forced them to penalties. oh well, i'll enjoy the alcohol tonight.

Smackdown and 205 Live were pretty good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was good last night. they are off for the next month i believe.

really didn't need that afternoon thunderstorm...

i woke up this morning after another shitty 5 hours of sleep dreaming about my high school crush. my imagination is going through this phase of playing the greatest hits again. i don't try to intervene, just sit back and see where the show goes. kind of like insanity in a way, hoping something different happens at the end. welcome to 2020.

today has been one of those days where i haven't bothered to fucking do much. mom has been bitching at the television all day long. i get the feeling if the asshole gets reelected, she's going to die screaming at the news. i'm not sure why she bothers anymore. it's all bullshit.

NXT UK was pretty good last night.

the season finale of Shelter in Place with Shane Smith was excellent last night.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows. they are off until after the 4th of July.

Holey Moley was hilarious last night.

Don't was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the FA Cup. they should win, but should isn't as reliable as it used to be these days.

i have no clue what we're doing for dinner tonight. might be some fish. might be some ribs. i try to be a decent son and let mom pick what she wants. she's usually passive aggressive about everything these days. all that means is the asshole in me gets to come out more. joy.

my first drops of liquor in over 3 months... and i needed it...

Manchester United won yesterday 3-0. Anthony Martial had the first hat trick for United in the Premier League in 7 fucking years.

after that, i went to the grocery stores feeling pretty good. of course, that was bound to change. i got nearly everything on the list between the two stores. and, i managed to do that and keep it under $100. of course, after i was done, mom started mentioning all the things she forgot to put on the list. joy.

i made dinner last night. bacon cheeseburgers with some onions and french fries. i thought it was pretty good.

i don't know if it was my cooking, or her stress, or the injection she got, but mom had an accident last night and didn't quite make it to the bathroom. these are the nights i wish my sister truly got to see what i deal with on a daily basis since she believes i have it made. my back was killing me for the rest of the night. that was why i really needed the liquor.

so, today i went to the drugstore and Meijer to try to find everything else. i was hoping to get some baseball card supplies at Meijer. of course, they didn't have any. the pack of cards i got at the drugstore made up for that empty trip though. i did find everything except for these hooks mom wants to hang the brooms up on in our laundry room. the website said they were at the Meijer store i was going to. of course, they weren't. that shit is never right anymore these days. between both stores, i spent nearly $150 on over the counter medicines and a few food items. joy.

NXT was really good last night.

AEW was really good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Holey Moley, Don't and the season finale of Shelter in Place with Shame Smith. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i watched a little bit of Manchester City vs. Chelsea game this afternoon. when Chelsea scored first, i stopped watching, mostly because i knew a Chelsea victory would give Liverpool their first title in 30 years. fuck me.

i get the feeling mom wants to go the hardware store sometime soon to find those hooks and get some stuff to grow tomatoes. she bought this portable thing to plant them in. my only worry is since she doesn't like using her walker, how the fuck is she going to do that and not get dizzy or fall on the concrete. i always love when the asshole son has to ask these questions.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i need to go figure out what i'm going to make for dinner now.

nice enough to turn off the AC for a bit...

it's supposed to be pretty nice here the next couple days. i've turned off the AC and will hopefully air out the house for the next 48 hours.

i did type up those 14 poems last night. i think there are a few winners in there. those will go out sometime in July.

Deadliest Catch was crazy last night.

i found some more baseball cards i didn't go through last night. probably 6 albums full of them. i did find some really good cards in some of them.

the joys of a bad back...

my back is killing me and i still have the fucking trash to do. i changed out the mat for mom's chair at her computer and it was in way better shape than mine. so, i took hers into my room and decided to trash mine. my sister got my mother a new, really nice mat for her birthday. my mat is old as fuck and wouldn't bend for shit, so i had to get creative to fit it in trash bags. that also meant throwing my back out and getting a nice little cut as well. any good deed...

i wrote 14 poems today while waiting for my mother in the parking lot of where she got her back injection. i'm going to type those up sometime tonight.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

Fuck That's Delicious was hilarious last night.

I May Destroy You was very good last night.

one of those days where it all went wrong when you got out of bed...

first off, a little poetry news to pass along. i sent out 14 poems today; 3 to Terror House Magazine, 5 to The Ramingo's Porch and 6 poems to Record Magazine. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

i thought i got some pretty decent sleep last night, but of course i didn't. the 15 minute nap i got in my massage chair while i was icing my back this afternoon was better i suppose. the heat finally broke last night when he had some storms roll through. that screwed up the DVR a little, but thankfully not too much.

the season finale of VICE was excellent last night.

Penny Dreadful: City of Angels was very good last night. the finale is next week.

The Chi was amazing last night. i didn't think they would start the new season off with a holy shit ending.

Hightown was really good last night.

Perry Mason was very good last night. i love that it seems to be a much more gritty version than ever seen on television.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

Happy (dead) Father's Day...

as many of you know, i did not have a good relationship with my father. i think he's been gone long enough now that he's simply a crutch for the poems when i'm stuck and can't think of anything to write. so, to all the good fathers out there, the ones that didn't punish their children by mentally abusing them or threatening to take them out of the world they brought them into; to the ones that didn't arrive late with an excuse to a championship match; to the ones that didn't steal all the college money playing the fucking lottery; to the ones that didn't blame a hit and run accident on their oldest child; to the ones that didn't forget birthdays; to the ones that didn't choose to work overtime instead of going home and enjoying the family... happy father's day.

i made the mistake last night to read the #speakingout stories on the internet last night regarding pro wrestling before going to bed. so many of the names involved are people i really respected and i was literally in tears reading those stories of abuse. as someone who has struggled to come to grips with it in my own past, i applaud each and everyone for coming forward as i know how fucking hard that can be. and honestly, the sooner we as a society get all this shit out into the open and treat sexual abuse, domestic abuse, etc. as seriously as it deserves to be treated, the better we are going to be in the future.

ROH was very good last night.

Austin City Limits was the Chris Stapleton episode i mistakenly deleted a few months ago.

i did watch the Belmont Stakes yesterday. i wasn't surprised with the winner of the race.

i watched some of the UFC last night as well.

enjoy some music:

i went to the store earlier today to pick up my prescriptions and get a few other things. i didn't know that Father's Day was all the moms take all the kids to the store day. it was way too fucking crowded for an early Sunday afternoon.

welcome to the summer...

my sister came down this afternoon. she brought some more stuff for my mother and bought lunch for us. she's out in the living room with mom while i'm writing this.

so, my yesterday was a bit nuts. before the Manchester United game, i went out to get mom's pills and see if i could find some baseball cards. Meijer was actually stocked for a change. i couldn't find any Bowman 2020, but i did find plenty of shit they never have. and i finally found a few of the cards i have been looking for. plenty of hits actually. i then went to the grocery store to pick up mom's pills. apparently, one of the fucking bags were open and the bottle of pills fell out. of course, i never heard anything or noticed anything. so, when i got home mom said that they called and someone brought it back to the pharmacy. i looked at the bag and saw where it was open and was fucking furious. thankfully, mom let me wait until halftime of the Manchester United game to go back to the store to get the pills. other than having to wait because they were understaffed (as usual), the return trip was pretty harmless.

as for the Manchester United game, they played Tottenham to a 1-1 draw. so, my first victory drink is still waiting...

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

i'll probably watch some of the Belmont Stakes later today as well.

happy Juneteenth...

if you don't know what i am talking about, please crawl out from the rock you are living under and educate your ignorant ass so the world could possibly be a better place.

in a way, i'm almost happy i was never taught anything about Juneteenth in school. i say that because having educated myself on the matter, while it means the end of slavery, i know too damn well, it doesn't mean the end of oppression or the end of racism. i imagine if i would have learned about it as a child, i would be very naive to the reality of the world.

NXT UK was very good last night.

finally went out to eat in a restaurant...

and i know for some of you, calling Waffle House a restaurant is a fucking stretch, but it is what it is. mom and i went there after her doctor's appointment. i laughed when the waitress knew our drink order before we sat down. i thought everything was very clean and went well. i found a Canadian penny on the floor from 1976 while we were leaving. i'm thinking it could be a sign. of what, i have no fucking clue.

NXT was awesome last night.

i got my test results back today. all my labs looked pretty good, although my liver is still fucked. so, not drinking alcohol for 3 months did it any good. oh well. my A1C hasn't changed for over 6 months now. i'm guessing 3 months from now, i shouldn't have much of a problem convincing them that i need some tweaks in my medication.

that's all for me today kids.

until tomorrow...
