where did this month go

i can tell when i don't get enough sleep as the days just seem to constantly roll together. if i get 5 hours at night anymore it's like i won the lottery. i'm sure i'll be dead before i hit 50.

the New York Yankees left a small village on base yesterday and couldn't come up with any 9th inning magic this time. they lost to Tampa 5-3. they start a series with Detroit tonight. thankfully, Boston lost yesterday so the Yankees are still in first place in the division. i'm hoping the Yankees make a trade today for another starter. i do like the trade they made yesterday for Jaime Garcia. now, go get Sonny Gray please.

i did watch a little of the Hall of Fame ceremonies yesterday. i'm so happy for Tim Raines. he was one of my favorite players as a kid. he should have been in the hall years ago.

Manchester United won 3-0 yesterday in Norway. i only got see a little of the game. i think someone in Saudi Arabia was streaming it on Twitter yesterday. i am very happy with the player they signed today.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. if you aren't watching the feeds online, you are missing so much.

Power was excellent once again last night.

Ballers was really good last night.

Insecure was great last night.

The Strain was really damn good last night.

Twin Peaks was another delicious mind fuck last night.

I'm Dying up Here was excellent last night. made me miss my days of doing drugs.

Last Week Tonight was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i need to get ready to take mom to her physical therapy appointment. she's really making some progress now, so i think we're coming up on her last few appointments. just in time for her to get the cataracts in both eyes taken care of.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

late night poems

i had a poem pop in my head last night around 3 in the morning. i simply didn't have the energy to get out of bed and write it down at that point. so, i trusted my memory and sure enough... when i got up this morning i wrote it down exactly how it went when it first came to me. and they told me drinking would be bad for me. i also wrote two more poems this morning and typed up all three. i do like them. they will get included in my first submissions of August i suppose.

the New York Yankees won another thriller yesterday against Tampa. Brett Gardner got his second walk off hit of the series to help the Yankees win 5-4. they will go for the sweep this afternoon.

i did watch a good amount of El Clasico yesterday. even in the preseason, Barcelona vs. Real Madrid is something that is a must watch. Barcelona won 3-2 down in Miami.

ROH last night was pretty good.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Ballers, Insecure, Last Week Tonight, The Strain, Power, Twin Peaks and I'm Dying Up Here.

Manchester United plays a preseason friendly in Norway today. i don't think it's on television anywhere, so i'll probably just follow the game online.

the birds looked pretty damn happy i filled the feeders yesterday.

mom changed her mind yesterday and wanted to go back to Meijer to shop. of course, she waited until late in the morning to decide that. and then felt bad when she realized just how late it was given that i had shit i wanted to do by 1 in the afternoon. i'm a stubborn fucker who is used to not getting my way, so we went shopping. we got most of what she wanted. she couldn't find a larger grab bar for her bathroom. i know what i'll be shopping for later this week. thanks to being an aggressive driver, i was back at home about 10 minutes later than i wanted to be. much better than what she feared.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday is even better.

back in first place

Brett Gardner led off the Yankees game last night the same way he ended the game the night before, with a home run. the Yankees are undefeated this season in games that he hits a homer in. that streak continued last night against Tampa. the Yankees also got home runs from Judge and a fucking bomb from Clint Frazier. but the story of the night was the pitching from Masahiro Tanaka. he struck out 14 last night, to set a new career high. plus, he retired the first 17 batters of the game. all of that added up to New York winning 6-1. toss in Boston losing last night and now the Yankees are back in first place in the division. hopefully the good times will continue this afternoon.

NJPW was a rerun last night. i'm not quite sure why the DVR recorded it.

VICE was very good last night. i'm still amazed at the number of people who want to rape this earth until there is nothing left.

Room 104 last night was very interesting. the show was very dark. i can see why some people didn't like it as the humor was very dark as well. thank god i'm an asshole and enjoy that shit.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

amazingly, it's not supposed to rain this weekend. it might even be fucking pleasant. at least as pleasant as the weather can be for late July. i'll probably get out and fill the bird feeders at some point this weekend. if i get a wild hair up my ass, i might even do a little photography.

other than the little shopping trip with mom later this morning, i think this weekend is just going to be relaxing and catching up on sleep. that pretty much means i'll do nothing but write, watch sports and laugh at Big Brother After Dark.

i will probably be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in Norway.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday, even those of you on the other side of my political views.

late night theatre

i was up late last night watching the shit show in the US Senate. thank god for John McCain. he couldn't pass up one last chance to stick it to Trump. classic one asshole getting the better of another asshole. he more or less took a shit on the desk and then rubbed the rest of the Republicans' faces in it. so, of course, what Trump will do now is defund everything that has to do with the ACA so it fails. i laugh at the trouble every old white person in this country has with anything President Obama was successful with. if they really looked at his policies and realize he was closer to a moderate Republican than he ever was to a socialist Democrat, they could see just how racist they are. but, Trump will make a fucking mess out of this country yet and just like the last time, it will be up to a black male or a female to clean it up.

the New York Yankees pissed away a 3 run lead last night but chipped away late to send the game into extra innings. Brett Gardner hit a walk off home run in the 11th inning and the Yankees beat Tampa 6-5. hopefully they can keep it rolling tonight. they are just 1/2 game out of first place in the division.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. Ramses was evicted and Paul is the new HOH. Jessica told the house and the rest of America watching on television about the secret temptation she won. hopefully Paul doesn't waste his week by nominating her and Cody. all Jessica will do is stop the eviction from happening and then it would be like the past week never happened.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW and Room 104.

the grocery store was busy as hell today. of course, i went a little before 1 in the afternoon. the elderly were having lunch in the store at all the free food spots. plus, they were stocking the shelves at the same time. good thing i look like someone you wouldn't want to fuck with. i had to get some over the counter medication and mom wanted to restock the freezer, so i knew there was no chance of keeping it under $100. after all was said and done, the final bill was around $150 or so. that's not bad considering i got about $50 off with coupons and the one medication was around $40.

i will probably be on here tomorrow in the morning. i know mom wants me to take her shopping sometime tomorrow. that should be interesting. she doesn't want to be crazy like the last time, so i'm guessing it's something local where we'll be back home in 15 minutes or so.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

the summer rain

i'm not sure if i can remember a summer with this much damn rain. and of course, i think the people that mow our grass are out of town, so it didn't get cut before this latest inch or more of rain fell. joy.

the New York Yankees got some more great starting pitching yesterday and plenty of offense to beat the Reds 9-5. they start another series tonight against Tampa. if they are "for real" about making the playoffs and being a threat, they need to win this series against the Rays.

Manchester United lost to Barcelona last night 1-0. honestly, the score was better than it should have been. David De Gea was the sole reason United only gave up 1 goal in the first half. United desperately needs help in the midfield and defense to play against a team like Barcelona.

i liked how the USA came out last night against Jamaica. they appeared they were taking the game seriously. of course, when Jamaica's best player (their goalkeeper) got injured and had to leave the game, it was like the USA thought the game was going to be easy now. once again, they were sloppy in the final third and it wasn't until a beautiful free kick from Jozy Altidore that they had a lead, 1-0. 4 minutes into the second half, Jamaica evened the score. go ahead and ratchet up the tension. Clint Dempsey put one off the post that had me pulling my fucking hair out. and then in the 88th minute, Jordan Morris, the guy who allowed his guy to score for Jamaica, makes up for his mistake with a wonderful goal. a cup winning goal. amazingly, they still haven't been defeated since Bruce Arena took over the job. i certainly enjoyed that victory drink last night.

Big Brother went as expected last night. sadly, i think Kevin ruined the surprise tonight. Ramses will get evicted and all the fireworks i was hoping for probably won't happen.

Lucha Underground was really good last night.

NXT was very good last night.

Snowfall was excellent once again last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Big Brother.

i'm hoping the damn rain has stopped. i know i need to get ready to take mom to physical therapy. i haven't had too many problems with the pinched nerves today. my greatest fear is that i'm developing carpal tunnel syndrome. i remember my father having it so bad in both wrists he had to have surgery on both of them. of course, that asshole had both done at the same time. that way we (mom, sister, myself) had to take care of him 24/7.

i can't imagine given my history being anything other than a poet.

i figure i will be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store. it's supposed to be raining tomorrow, so that should be about as fun as a bag of flaming dicks.

happy birthday to death

my father would have been 71 today. i think we're both happy that he's dead.

i have fallen back into the rut of not falling asleep until 3 or 4 in the morning again. it's not much fun when you have to be up just a few hours later. good times.

the New York Yankees got some great starting pitching last night and just enough offense to defeat the Reds 4-2. they will go for the sweep this afternoon. they are only 1 game out of first place in the division now.

Smackdown was really good last night. Chris Jericho showing up to make a triple threat match with AJ Styles and Kevin Owens was a nice touch. AJ won back the US Title by defeating Jericho. the look on KO's face was priceless. and the match next week between John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura should be amazing. how the show could be this good and the ppv Sunday was awful is beyond me.

The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking hilarious last night.

Tom Morello was the guest on last night's episode of Fear(less) with Tim Ferriss. Tom is one of my favorite humans and the interview really made me think just how much Rage Against the Machine shaped my teenage mind. next week Bill Burr is on the show.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, Lucha Underground and Snowfall. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

Manchester United finishes up the USA portion of their preseason tonight against Barcelona. it would be nice to see them go undefeated while in the states.

that match will go right into the Gold Cup final between the USA and Jamaica. i'm really hoping the boys aren't thinking just because it's not Mexico against them in the final, it's going to be easy. i'm hoping they are thinking about how Jamaica knocked them out of the last Gold Cup. time for some fucking revenge.

hopefully i will be nice and drunk by late tonight, off to slip into a coma.

laundry day

just put my last load of laundry in the dryer, so i'm going to try to bust this out before the clothes are done.

i've spent most of today listening to my mother bitch at the television. why she watches political shit these days is beyond me. my hope is they fully repeal Obamacare. that way, most of the people that will lose their healthcare will be Trump supporters. that should be their reward for electing that piece of shit President. if you want to fix healthcare in this country, it's pretty easy. cut out the insurance companies completely and start from scratch. but, since the rich don't want the poor to have any chance to be successful in this country, that will never happen. so, one side of the country thinks of healthcare as a right and the other side thinks of it as a commodity. until that divide is solved, welcome to the clusterfuck.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i do love the direction they are going in for SummerSlam.

Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy was really good last night. it is really hard to believe it has been twenty years since her death.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Jim Jefferies Show and Fear(less) with Tim Ferriss. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers signed their last remaining restricted free agent today to a 5 year 26.75 million dollar contract. it's a good deal for the team and a good deal for Mika Zibanejad. plus, the team still has 3 million left under the salary cap. that gives them plenty of wiggle room for trades during the season.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow.

i have trash to go pickup and clothes to fold shortly, so that's all for me kids.

start another round of apathy

i was really looking forward to WWE Battleground last night. the tag team title match that started the show off was fucking amazing. sadly, it was straight downhill from there. hell, i think i almost fell asleep a few times during it. and given the people on this show, there's no reason for it to be so damn bad. as someone wrote today, remember when Smackdown was good. apparently the WWE wants you to forget that.

thankfully, the New York Yankees ended their nightmare and actually won a damn series for the first time in 6 weeks yesterday. they beat Seattle 6-4. a winning road trip even, holy shit. they are off tonight and start a series at home tomorrow against the Reds.

Manchester United would have beaten Real Madrid in regulation yesterday if it wasn't for a stupid fucking tackle from Victor Lindelof. instead, they defeated them in one of the worst penalty shootouts i think i have EVER seen. god fucking awful. United will end their time in the USA in a couple days when they play Barcelona.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. i really can't believe Jessica decided to play it safe.

Power was excellent last night. just when i thought it was going to go one way, the show went in a direction i completely didn't see coming. love it.

Ballers was excellent last night.

season 2 of Insecure picked up right where season 1 ended. this season looks like it will be just as great as the first one was.

The Strain was fucking awesome last night. they are certainly going out with a bang in the final season.

Twin Peaks was yet another glorious mindfuck.

I'm Dying Up Here was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy. i will be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did write and type up 8 poems yesterday afternoon. i believe that gives me 34 for the month of July now. that makes me really happy as i normally don't write much in the summer. of the 8 from yesterday, i really like a few of them. i figure i'll have one more big writing session this month and probably have some poems ready to go in August.

i know i have dishes to do sometime today as well. i figure that will happen after i get mom back home from her physical therapy session.

hot and muggy, rinse and repeat

started the day off today with some thunder. not sure if that's a sign of things to come...

i had a pretty lazy Saturday. i think i caught up on just about all the sleep i could.

it was painfully obvious the home plate umpire last night was totally fucking annoyed the New York Yankees came from behind twice to force extra innings last night in Seattle. the Yankees had two strike threes called on them in the top of the 10th last night that were around the ankles. in the bottom of the inning, the strike zone was about the size of a penny. naturally, Seattle won 6-5. the Yankees will still have a chance to win the series this afternoon.

the USA vs. Costa Rica game last night completely changed when Clint Dempsey entered. one big assist and one big goal later, the USA won 2-0 to advance to the Gold Cup finals. the goal ties Clint with Landon Donovan for the most goals scored for the national team. hopefully he breaks it in the finals. this was easily the best the USA has played in the tournament.

ROH was excellent last night.

i did catch a little of the UFC last night.

Risk was fascinating last night on Showtime. i think i learned more about Julian Assange than i ever thought i was going to. i highly recommend it.

apparently, it's monsoon season

i swear, for the last few days, just about every couple of hours there's a new rainstorm coming through. not exactly the greatest thing for my arthritis. i somehow managed to "sleep" through the pain last night. of course, i paid for it when every joint in my body cracked with that first step this morning. good times.

Aaron Judge hit the longest home run i have ever seen hit in Seattle last night and the Yankees won again, 5-1. 2 wins in a row, holy shit. they will go for the series win tonight.

Big Brother went pretty much how i thought it would go last night. Cody is back in the house and i found out last night that Jessica, his girlfriend, is the new HOH. and since she won the last temptation, that pretty much means her and Cody are safe for the next month.

NJPW was excellent last night.

Vice Special Report: A World in Disarray was very good last night. it detailed how the Iraq war was a complete clusterfuck from the beginning and how Obama dropped the ball with regards to Syria. more or less, we planted the seeds to all of this chaos and now with old fuck face as President, it's time to reap. i figure if i'm still around in the next 30 years, i will see a nuclear war.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Risk.

i will be watching the USA take on Costa Rica tonight in the Gold Cup semifinals. if the USA want to get to the finals, they will have to earn it.

i might watch some UFC tonight as well.

mom surprised me last night when she did the dishes before i had a chance to do them. i hope that means that she is starting to feel better again. i made sure to put them away and do the dishes from last night's dinner this morning.

i get the feeling i may do a little writing today or napping between soccer matches. at least i got the grocery shopping done between storms.

you would think the world was coming to an end

the grocery store was fucking crazy today. between the scroll of things mom wanted me to get and having to park about 1/4 mile away from the door, the heat and humidity just made everything worse. i was hoping the rain we got this morning was going to cool shit off. apparently, any rain we get anymore is just a stimulant to heat up the damn place even more. i did my best to keep everything under $100 today, but i told mom it was going to be close to impossible to do so. i came in at $111 when it was all said and done. that's not too bad. of course, i was in the store for almost 90 minutes getting everything. while i don't mind people watching, i don't like it that much.

i got some great FREE music this morning on NoiseTrade. below is the link:

the New York Yankees won last night up in Seattle 4-1. hopefully they will make it two in a row later tonight.

Manchester United defeated Manchester City 2-0 last night. hopefully that's a sign of things to come in the Premier League season.

i pretty much drank myself to sleep last night. a little Jagermeister and then my good friend Tanqueray showed up and all hell broke loose. i forgot how much the alcoholic side of my brain enjoys gin.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

the 30 for 30 last night was excellent. i highly recommend everyone checking out George Best: All By Himself.

Big Brother went how i expected it to go last night. Dominique was voted out 10-0. i'm really interested to see which of the first four evicted house guests come back into the game tonight. i'm sure the producers are hoping for Cody.

enjoy some music:

of course, if it keeps raining like this, there might be nothing on the DVR and i will just be listening to music and writing.

afternoon thunderstorms

i was just starting to write this when the news that Chester Bennington committed suicide today broke. the fucking eerie part for me is that today is Chris Cornell's birthday. and when someone that is as old as me does die, i'm torn. should i be mournful or jealous? i never really got into Linkin Park. but as i have grown older, i have learned to appreciate anyone that has tried to share their creativity with the world. i do hope he and his family will find whatever peace that is out there for them.

the New York Yankees lost yet again yesterday, 6-1. that's another damn series lost. that's also the first series they have lost to the Twins in 9 years i believe. the Yankees start a 4 game series tonight in Seattle.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. i do think that Dominique will get evicted tonight, although i'm sure there will be some producer shenanigans going on.

Lucha Underground was really good last night.

NXT was excellent last night.

Snowfall was fucking great last night. i think FX has another winner on their hands.

the USA has not played well at all in the Gold Cup. i am somewhat surprised they have made into the semifinals. i really shouldn't be that surprised given the shitty soccer in this region if you don't play for Mexico, USA, Costa Rica or Panama. El Salvador did their best last night to turn the game into a complete shit show. 2 late USA goals in the first half made the second half mostly unwatchable. how the fuck El Salvador got away with biting and punching and never getting called for it is beyond me. but, the victory puts the USA against Costa Rica Saturday night in the semifinals.

Lip Sync Battle was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother and 30 for 30 George Best: All By Himself.

that 30 for 30 will be on right before Manchester United takes on Manchester City. i think this is the first time they have played the Manchester derby in the USA. hopefully United will win.

my pain has been pretty bad today. i only got 4 hours of sleep last night. and my arthritis has been fucking with me since i woke up. this rain this afternoon did me no fucking favors. hopefully it cooled everything down. that would be nice.

i still have to take a shower before i take mom to her physical therapy session.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after my trip to the grocery store. i believe mom is going to have a scroll for me. she's spent the last few days looking through cookbooks. i'll be interested to see what a woman with cataracts in both eyes wrote down for ingredients.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

response from Winedrunk Sidewalk

i heard back from John at Winedrunk Sidewalk on my recent poetry submission. my poems "consequences", "these dumb souls", "bleeding heart", "propaganda" and "the illusion that something better exists" have all been accepted for publication. the poems should start appearing by early August.

i have to figure out a new way to sleep

my right shoulder hurts so fucking much these days that i have to figure out a new way to sleep. i have slept on my right side for years now. unless i drink myself into a coma, that isn't possible anymore. i got no more than 45 minutes trying to sleep that way last night. so, more or less, i just fucking tossed and turned all night. i figure i'll be out in my chair before too long.

the New York Yankees won last night, 6-3. they go for the series win against Minnesota this afternoon. they also made a pretty big trade last night. they somehow got rid of Tyler Clippard, along with 3 prospects, and got back 3 useful pieces from the White Sox; Todd Frazier, David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle. both pitchers used to be with the Yankees and Frazier should give them some much needed help at third and first base.

Smackdown was not as good as i thought it was going to be last night. i figured, going into WWE Battleground this Sunday, the show would be good. so much for that.

205 Live was pretty good last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show last night was fucking hilarious.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, Lip Sync Battle, Lucha Underground and Snowfall. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

in Gold Cup action tonight, the USA takes on El Salvador with the winner advancing to the semifinals. i'd like to think that the USA will win tonight, but anything is possible these days.

i've heard back from a couple places i sent to yesterday, but i don't know which poems are going to be published yet. but the signs are looking good.

i think it's supposed to be yet another hot and sticky day here. i know i need to get some damn bread at the grocery store at some point today. so much for getting that done this morning.

that's all for me kids. i'll be on here tomorrow before mom's physical therapy session.

frustration, my old friend

the internet was going in and out this morning. plus, my arthritic hands and the mouse and the keyboard weren't working together at all. it took me over 2 hours to get all the poems out. that's the problem with the hot days where i live. there's nothing for anyone to do other than sit inside and stream music or porn or play games for hours on end. and people wonder why there is a heroin problem here.

so here's the details on the poems. i sent out 33 poems today. 3 each to Pink Litter and Mad Swirl. 5 each to Duane's PoeTree, Winedrunk Sidewalk and Over The Transom. 6 each to Anti-Heroin Chic and Rose Red Review. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

the New York Yankees lost last night in Minnesota 4-2. they had plenty of chances to win the game but could never string together clutch hits to get the job done.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i had no clue where they were going with the Kurt Angle revelations, but i do see plenty of upside by saying Jason Jordan is his long lost son. it's crazy enough to actually work.

Manchester United won last night, 2-1 over Real Salt Lake. they started off poorly and was actually trailing at one point. thankfully, they took the lead in the first half. then, they got a good dose of working their asses off when they went a man down for the last 30 minutes or so. they play again on Thursday.

mom wanted to get her haircut today, so i took to where we both go this afternoon. she used her cane going in. that's the first time she hadn't used the walker in a pretty long time. i could tell it's going to take her some time before she's comfortable without the walker.

i've got the trash already picked up, so now all i need to do is figure out what the fuck is for dinner.

all my good thoughts come on the toilet

i was flipping between the baseball game last night and some of my Sunday night shows when i had to take a shit. while on the toilet, for some damn reason, i had a phrase pop into my head out of nowhere. 2 minutes later, that phrase was a poem. that turned into 3 poems by the end of the night. i typed them up around 1 in the morning, since mom was still awake. i really like them and will probably save them for submissions in August. i did come up with 3 more poems for the submissions tomorrow. i'm going to be busy as fuck in the morning.

the New York Yankees won the first game of the doubleheader yesterday 3-0 and lost the second game by the same score. that means they split the 4 game series with Boston. that also means the Yankees still haven't won a damn series since early June. they start a series tonight in Minnesota.

Big Brother was pretty funny last night.

Power was excellent last night. the ending was fucking perfect.

Twin Peaks was yet another delicious mindfuck.

I'm Dying Up Here was really good last night.

The Strain was fucking awesome last night. since this is the last season of the show, i'm expecting some crazy ass shit.

Manchester United plays tonight against Real Salt Lake. hopefully they do as well as they did against the Galaxy.

i guess i should get ready to take mom to her physical therapy session.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.
