a good day for debuts, but then...

i suppose i should start off with the USA's national team and their victory over Ghana. it's always nice to beat Ghana, no matter if the game is a friendly or not. i was really happy for Dom Dwyer and Kellyn Acosta for scoring their first goals with the team. all in all, i think the team is ready for the Gold Cup. that first game is in less than a week against Panama.

Clint Frazier did not disappoint yesterday. i wish i could say the same thing for the New York Yankees. Frazier hit a double and a home run in his major league debut. not too shabby. sadly, the dumpster fire that is the Yankees bullpen pissed away a late lead and the Yankees lost to Houston 7-6. what pissed me off even more was the mistake Brett Gardner made that ended the game. he got a bloop single off the Astros closer and either thought he was going to stretch it into a double or the dumb fuck forgot how many outs there were. he was tagged out going back to first base. when you ask the kids to step up, you can't have veterans out there shitting the bed.

i thought Night 1 of the G1 Special that NJPW put on last night was good. there were some minor glitches with the broadcast on AXS TV that just totally pissed me off. one, the graphics stunk. two, you can't have announcers calling wrestlers by the wrong name and never correcting it. third, you have to do a better job making sure the audience at home can hear the translators for the guys speaking Japanese. that being said, the wrestling was spectacular. the match between Kenny Omega and Michael Elgin was match of the year worthy and the match of the night. i can't wait to see Night 2 when it airs on Friday.

ROH was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Power and Last Week Tonight.

i was pleasantly surprised with the New York Rangers yesterday. the contract for the backup goalie was a 1 year deal at $1.3 million. and i think everyone knew Kevin Shattenkirk was going to sign with the Rangers. i was fearing it was going to be 7 years and way too much money. instead, it was 4 years at $26.6 million. much, MUCH better than what i thought it was going to be. the Rangers also signed a couple players for their AHL team in Hartford, which they need to rebuild as well. they still have holes to fill, but at least it appears they are being smart about how they are filling them.

i woke up this morning with a damn song from The Chemical Brothers stuck in my head for some fucking reason. sometimes i think i dream in the 90's.

i did catch some of the third place game today in the Confederations Cup. Portugal beat Mexico 2-1 in extra time. Mexico was 3 minutes away from winning the game in regulation. ha ha. i do plan on watching the championship this afternoon between Germany and Chile.

this might end up being a day i catch up on sleep or do a little more writing.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday will be even better.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...
