the never ending headache

my head has been pounding for most of today. i figure it has everything to do with the weather. it actually stopped raining here for a few hours. of course, that meant the sun came out and heated everything up. so, i'm going to try to type this up and get it published before the thunderstorms hit. good times.

today was a day of writing checks and driving mom around. she had some shit she had to do at the insurance office. after that, we hit up some dollar stores trying to find some cheap solar shit i found online. no luck there but i did find one solar piece that hopefully will work great where i put it. also, got some baseball cards and some frames. i think the baseball cards may have paid for everything with 1 of the rookie cards i got in one the packs. good times.

please enjoy a quick musical break:

the New York Yankees lost last night 4-1. they more or less lost to Mike Trout. his bat and glove were the difference in the game. i haven't decided if i'm going to watch them tonight or not. thankfully, there is plenty of other options tonight.

Monday Night Raw was a so so show for the most part. it started off lame as hell and only got better when the interaction between Kevin Owens, John Cena and Cesaro happened. that match saved the show from being a complete dud.
of course, Cena fucked up a number of moves in the match, most notably this one:
and he wonders why so many of us think he sucks.

here's some funny shit from last night:

team USA plays Germany tonight in the first semifinal of the Women's World Cup. this is the top 2 teams in the world facing each other, so it might as well be the final. i'll have my attention on that for most of the night, weather permitting.

on the DVR tonight will be WWE Tough Enough, Deadliest Catch and Tyrant. i might stay up late to catch up on all that or that might become a Wednesday morning/afternoon kind of deal.

today was FREE music on iTunes day. i got 4 pretty good ones. you'll find those listed in the music section.

our neighbors (not my uncle) had a garage sale today. i asked my mother, who the fuck has a garage sale on a Tuesday. thankfully, it was over by the time we got back home from running around today.

the storms are supposed to hit here soon, so i'm going to wrap this up.

hope everyone had a good day. hope the weather is better wherever you are.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a summer full of rain

when i was in pain around 4 this morning, i didn't bother to get up. i knew it had to be raining. that rain lasted the entire morning. it looks like yesterday could be the last dry day for another week or so. fuck me.

the people that take care of my uncle's grass cut both our yards yesterday. not a big deal, except the grass was cut 2 days before that. i have never lived in a community where fuckers treat their lawns like they are made of gold. any fucking time the rain has stopped, some fucker on this street has his mower out. if i truly was as nuts as people think i am, a shooting spree wouldn't be too far from reality given how much the sound of a lawnmower drives me nuts. i blame that one on my father. he had me on a riding lawnmower when i was 8. i was barely strong enough to turn the wheel, but did that matter? so, like any asshole to be would do, i crashed the fucker into a tree. didn't do much damage, but i was punished by standing in the corner for 3 hours. if anyone ever wonders why i constantly talk to myself, it's because i spent most of my childhood doing it. good times.

i'm keeping an eye on the water in our backyard. considering that's where the phone lines and electric are, i'm just waiting for a OH SHIT moment to occur.

a quick music break before i get to last night on television:

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 3-1 to split the series with Houston. hard to win any game when you only have 2 fucking hits. they start a series with the Angels tonight. west coast baseball. that means i will be one tired fucker for the next few days.

i did get a little nap in yesterday while flipping between NASCAR and golf.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. sadly, i follow most of the shit online, so the tv show is about a week behind what is actually going on in the house. True Detective last night was great. that had a truly HOLY SHIT ending. Ballers was good. The Brink was pretty funny. the series finale of Nurse Jackie was good. i thought the ending could have been better. i thought death would have been the right way to go out. but, it was nice to see some characters from past seasons in the finale. the season finale of Happyish had me laughing. i doubt i will get Skidmark Jesus out of my head anytime soon. Penny Dreadful was excellent last night. it certainly has set things up for a bloody finale next Sunday. finally, Last Week Tonight was great once again:

i haven't bothered to even check for the mail today. i was hoping it would start to dry up. but, apparently i'll go out in the drizzle. my luck, it will all be shit that i won't want to get wet.

i'll be flipping between Monday Night Raw, the Yankees game and Big Brother After Dark tonight on television.

just a few days before the silly season starts in the NHL and NBA.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. and i certainly hope your Monday hasn't been as fucking dreary as mine.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a lazy Sunday (hopefully)

the windows are open, the sun is out (HOLY SHIT, the sun, you still exist), there is a light breeze in the air and this day has napping written all over it.

the New York Yankees thankfully won last night, 9-6. it's a little troubling that supposedly their best pitcher (Tanaka) blew a 6 run lead. but, the bullpen did the job the rest of the way and the offense is finding some hits once again. all in all, it was a tasty victory beer. they play again this afternoon to try to win the series.

i watched Brasil lose to Paraguay yesterday in the Copa America. that was a little stunning. i also watched England beat Canada in the Women's World Cup. that was a bit of a stunner as well. i also watched a little UFC before i just decided to come in my room and find old songs on iTunes the rest of the night. you'll see a couple of those below in the music section.

ROH last night was excellent. the match between Adam Cole and AJ Styles was great. how Adam Cole isn't the WWE by now is a complete mystery to me.

Power was really good. i watched most of it this morning. i really love how the story is building some real drama now. plus, it never hurts to see some tits every now and then.

enjoy a long music break my friends:

if mom doesn't have me do too much shit around the house today (cleaning, hanging shit, another shopping trip) my plan is to relax and nap and get ready for tonight.

tonight will be a long one on the television. one of my favorite shows will air the series finale tonight, Nurse Jackie. hopefully it goes out with a bang. also on Showtime tonight will be the season finale of Happyish and Penny Dreadful. over on HBO will be True Detective, Ballers, The Brink and Last Week Tonight. and starting the night off, that is if golf ends at the scheduled time, will be Big Brother. this cast is just crazy enough to keep me interested.

you may have noticed the broadsides for sale listed on the right hand side of the blog. if you did, please feel free to order a set. if you didn't, now you don't have an excuse.

i woke up this morning and was a little jealous of my friend, Sam Roberts. not only was he up in New England this weekend interviewing some wrestling greats with the beautiful Katie Linendoll, he also got to see this:
lucky bastard.

i hope everyone is having a great weekend. i'm going to pour myself a drink and go enjoy a rare day in June that isn't hot and humid as fuck.

so this is what i've been missing all these years?

so my sister came down this morning and the plan was that her and mom were going to go out and them come and get me to go out to lunch. well, plans change. my sister's friend she was coming down to see was on the other end of the county and since they weren't going to drive all the way back to get me for lunch, i might as well come along. and since i'm trying to make an effort, i of course agreed. little did i know that we were going to do some shopping after the visit with my sister's friend. and then after lunch as well. my mom joked with me and said see what you've been missing all these years. i laughed and in the most sarcastic voice i can muster at the age of 39, said if i had to describe to a blind man what bliss is, today's the day. thank god lunch was great. Logan's Roadhouse. if it was only closer to where we live. the food was excellent. the alcohol was good. and it wasn't too expensive. and out of the shopping i got some shorts and one of those tall plastic coke bottles for coins. that will work better than the flower dish i was using.

now, time for a music break before i get to yesterday's events...

the New York Yankees won last night in Houston 3-2. they are playing right now and have just blown a 6 run lead. let's just say i'm not pleased.

team USA beat China 1-0 yesterday in the Women's World Cup. they played much better than the score shows. it was probably the best they had played in this tournament. they advance to play Germany on Tuesday in the semifinals.

the NHL Draft last night went how i thought it would until the New York Rangers never made the move into the first round. once that happened, i truly felt like i wasted 3 hours of my life. now today, i didn't get to watch any of the draft. i did see that the Rangers traded Cam Talbot (as i expected) and also traded Carl Hagelin (didn't expect that). the player they got for Hags will work as long as the fans don't expect the same numbers from him as Hags gave them. Emerson Etem will give a more physical presence though. plus, he'll make 1/3rd of what Hagelin was going to make. the backup goalie the Rangers got today from Chicago i love. Antti Raanta played great for my fantasy team this year and is the perfect fit for a backup. he will make 1/2 of what Talbot was going to make this season. that frees up some money for the restricted free agents the Rangers have. hopefully they can fit all the pieces together and make another run at the Stanley Cup. i liked the picks the Rangers got today. i think a few of the players may actually make it to the NHL in a few years. i'll just be happy when the team has a first round pick again.

NJPW was excellent last night. you can never go wrong with a show that has Okada, Nakamura, Tanahashi and AJ Styles on it.

the season finale of VICE last night was awesome. it truly is a show that EVERYONE should watch:

i guess for the rest of today i'll watch the rest of the baseball game, maybe some Copa America as well, and then god knows what tonight. i feel a nap or a huge shit coming on. i know i will have ROH on the DVR.

the weather today has been completely fucking dreary. just clouds and rain all the fucking time.

i guess i can now go read today's paper and my mail. my day always get out of whack when i have no afternoon nap.

hope everyone is having a great weekend. hopefully the sun actually exists where you are.

what happens when it literally starts raining cats and dogs?

we're under a flood warning or a watch or an end of the world type shit event going on now as it is fucking pouring rain. my mother felt good enough to go into work today by herself and is going to go to the grocery store afterwards. to say i'm a bit nervous would be an understatement. but, hopefully i'll be putting away groceries right after i finish this blog today.

i decided to clean the toilets and take out the trash today. i told my mother i would at least make an effort when we moved and i would like to think that is what i'm doing.

the New York Yankees lost 4-0 last night in Houston. i only watched the 9th inning, when they brought the tying run to the plate. at least they gave themselves a chance. hopefully they will get back to winning tonight.

i mostly watched the NBA Draft last night. it went sort of like i expected. i was really disappointed that Jordan Sibert didn't get drafted. Dayton hasn't had anyone drafted since 1990. god willing, that will change soon. Sacramento drafted Willie Cauley-Stein. if they keep DeMarcus Cousins, i love the pick. two Kentucky guys controlling the front court. now, just get a decent point guard and the team can start the climb back to being relevant.

Big Brother was interesting last night. the first twist to annoy the shit out of me is 2 people from the show The Amazing Race are now playing Big Brother. something like this will happen each week of the game. i did catch some of Big Brother After Dark last night as well. hopefully in a few weeks the alcohol starts flowing as there definitely seems to be some freaky people in the house this year.

the season finale of The Comedians was hilarious. i'm not sure if it will be back for another season, but hopefully it will be.

here's some funny shit from last night:

today is really all about the NHL Draft. the New York Rangers are trying to get back in the first round. they have been offered a first round pick for Cam Talbot, but they would have to take a bad contract back for that pick. this is a deep enough draft that if i was the Rangers, i'd bite the fucking bullet and do it. so, as you might imagine, i'll be glued to that tonight.

also tonight, team USA plays China in the Women's World Cup. i'm sure i'll catch plenty of that during the draft.

on the DVR tonight, weather permitting, will be NJPW and Vice.

i guess my sister is coming down tomorrow. we're planning on going out to lunch, so it looks like i may be taking a shower tonight.

my sister's friend came by the house this morning to get her furniture that was here. that cleans out even more from the garage. and thankfully they got here long before the rains came.

here's a little music to take you into the weekend:

i hope everyone has a lovely weekend. hopefully the rain stops here before i have to start building an arc.

life happens and then we all move on

so i got an email today that i was hoping was something like someone just pulling my leg. but then i went to the site and saw the news.

The Camel Saloon is now closed for submissions. Many thanks for all the patronage.

while i was sad at first, i definitely want to thank Russell for the number of times he published me. in an odd way, i think he helped me become a better poet as he never settled on something from me. i appreciate editors and publishers that reject me while giving me a sense of what they want. i believe i have one more poem coming out before the doors are shut forever on the Saloon. what a glorious 5 years my friend.

as i figured they would yesterday, the New York Yankees won 10-2. hell, i left to take mom to the bank when they were up 10-0. Nova pitched great and the offense got some timely hits. what a concept. that stops the losing streak. they start a series in Houston tonight.

mom needed to go to the bank yesterday to deposit some money and then get a cashier's check to pay off the new house. she mailed that off this morning. i told her she should feel proud. she's more or less debt free at 62 years old. she should think of it as she won the game of life. now go fucking enjoy it.

a little music break before we get to last night on television:

Big Brother was interesting last night. only the first half of the cast was shown. more people get revealed on tonight's episode. the twists for this season will probably drive me nuts. it almost feels like the show is jumping the shark. i'll give it a couple of weeks to see how it goes before i pass judgement. all in all, it should be a very interesting and long season.

NXT was really good last night. whenever you have a main event that involves 3 of the best wrestlers on the planet, you can't go wrong with it. also, the segments they have been running on Finn Balor are top notch.

Lucha Underground was excellent one again. i really like how the show is building to Ultimate Lucha. enjoy some highlights:

i watched the main event from ROH again last night. you can never go wrong with the Young Bucks, AJ Styles and Okada in a match. i did watch the main event of TNA as well last night. honestly, it made me feel old:

here is some funny shit from last night:

tonight is another busy night on tv for me. the DVR will be busy. Big Brother is on tonight at the same time as the NBA Draft, the Yankees game and god knows what else. also tonight is the season finale of The Comedians.

another quick music break my friends:

give the Sam Roberts Wrestling podcast a listen this week. it is really good, especially if you are interested in knowing more about one of the men that are the future of pro wrestling:
you can listen on iTunes, Stitcher, notsam.com or on the right hand side of this blog.

thankfully, the rain of this morning has given way to some sunshine this afternoon. hopefully, it stays that way. we've been actually able to open some windows today and turn the air conditioning off. of course, the house is now close to 78 degrees and i'm wearing all black, so that might change before too long.

i hope this finds everyone drunk and happy.

hello anger, we have missed you

the New York Yankees pissed me off so much last night that i didn't even bother to realize that my DVR didn't record Tyrant, a show i truly love. i'm going to put the blame on myself and my relationship with technology, although a sane man would argue that the Yankees shitty pitching for the last 3 games is a good enough reason for anyone to blow a fucking fuse.

i understand that in the game of baseball, sometimes shit happens. but, when you lose to the worst team in baseball again last night, 11-6, it's fucking inexcusable. what makes it worst was they fought back to get the game to 6-6 and then pissed away chance after chance to go ahead. they blew the game in the 9th when they gave up 5 runs. i believe it's the first time the Phillies have scored 11 runs in back to back games in almost a decade. CC only went 4 2/3 last night, so i guess Ivan Nova, coming back from Tommy John surgery, will have to pitch a complete game when they play this afternoon. fuck me runnin'.

here's a little music as i clean my own damn pallet from the shitty taste of last night's game:

i wrote 5 poems yesterday while in the waiting room of mom's doctor's office. i think 2 or 3 of them are really good. i typed them up last night while i was drinking in anger. i guess i should actually check them to make sure i didn't make any mistakes.

WWE Tough Enough was pretty good last night. some parts were a little too much Jersey Shore for my liking, but oh well. the after show on the WWE Network was excellent. The Miz was truly in his element given all the times he has been on reality shows.

Deadliest Catch was excellent last night. it will be interesting to see how Jake does as a captain.

i planned ahead this time and made sure i have Tyrant scheduled to record. of course, i will have to wait until next Tuesday to catch up. of course, i might check later in the week to see if the episode i missed is on demand. fucking technology.

here's some funny shit from last night:

on top of tonight being pro wrestling night, my summer guilty pleasure comes back, Big Brother. it is the perfect show for insomniacs and evil geniuses. that will be on the DVR (fingers crossed), along with ROH and Lucha Underground. i will be watching NXT on the WWE Network when the other shows are on. i haven't decided if i'm going to watch TNA tonight or not. i may just check out the YouTube clips.

mom is feeling pretty crappy today. the heat does her no help with her disease. i was a little shocked when she told me yesterday she decided to go through with another procedure on her ear. it's the same one that nearly killed her last time. not literally, but she did look like she was being electrocuted at the moment the needle went in. she told me they are planning on knocking her out as best they can this time around. of course, i will be in the room like last time, so i can't wait to see how this goes. the first one did nothing for her. maybe this time will work. i won't get my hopes up, that's for sure.

if the Yankees do get swept today, i know i will end up shaving my head. i plan on leaving this funky beard i've got going, but the hair on top will be gone. that would actually feel nice in this heat. so, i figure the Yankees will win today to spite me.

that's really all for me today. i've got trash cans to go get and hopefully the mail is here by now. hope everyone is doing good. if not, you now have discovered the reasons for drugs and alcohol.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

and then the old bones start to ache

when i went out to get the paper this morning, the skies were slowly turning black. i figured that was why my body was feeling like one achy fucking pile of bones. that was about 5 hours ago. things haven't got much better. but, i figured i better get this out of the way as i need to take mom to her ear doctor this afternoon. that should be fun if it's storming.

enjoy some music my friends:

the New York Yankees got another game of shitty pitching, losing to the worst team in baseball, 11-8. talk about a fucking frustrating game to watch. i will hopefully have better things to watch tonight than the game.

team USA beat Colombia 2-0 yesterday in the Women's World Cup. they still haven't played a solid 90 minutes in the tournament. they will play China on Friday. sadly, due to yellow cards, the USA will be missing two key players. hopefully they can advance without them.

Monday Night Raw was just sort of blah last night. other than the opening:
hell, even the interchange between John Cena and Kevin Owens just felt like everything was just going through the motions:

thankfully, there was some funny shit on tv last night. enjoy:

i need to remember to bring along some pen and paper when i take my mother to the doctor. i always get some interesting thoughts that come to me in waiting rooms.

tonight on the DVR will be WWE Tough Enough and Deadliest Catch.

at some point tonight i need to pick up the trash and get that wheeled down to the curb. that feels so weird to type after 15 years of loading the trash in the truck to take down to the road.

hopefully, if it does decide to rain, it will hurry the fuck up and get it over with.

following a day of misery

i spent most of yesterday laying in bed. my body was aching all over it seemed and i was just overall, in pure fucking misery. not even a futile attempt at masturbation could lift my spirits. thankfully, the pain started to lighten up later in the day and evening. and it figures, yesterday the sun was out for probably 90% of the day.

the New York Yankees had their asses handed to them yesterday, 12-4. that didn't help my mood much either. they had a few kids make their major league debuts yesterday. let's just say that was like pouring gasoline on a burning fire. they play the Phillies tonight. hopefully they can get back to winning, as they are only 1 game out of first place in the division.

i did watch a ton of soccer yesterday. between the Women's World Cup and the Copa America, there was plenty to choose from.

dinner last night was a little better than horrific. i made some hot dogs in crescent rolls. a true sophisticated white trash meal. the problem was the rolls were garlic butter rolls. with just cheese and pepperoni, not too bad. with the hot dogs, like puke on a stick. i'll have to file that one in the back of my mind.

enjoy some music before we get to the television of last night:

let's start off with the Showtime shows. Nurse Jackie was excellent. next week is the series finale and it looks like it should be a memorable one. Happyish was great once again. i always appreciate when a show tries to find the humor on suicide. Penny Dreadful was spectacular last night. the ending was one of the biggest oh fuck me endings of all-time. credits right as a fight is getting ready to start. needless to say, i will be super fucking ready for the next episode.

True Detective last night started off with a Leonard Cohen song as the main title credits rolled. that made me smile. there were definitely a few layers revealed in the first episode. i don't know if it will be as good as the first season, but it's surely something i will be able to sink my teeth into. Ballers was what it was. being a sports fan, i will enjoy it. sports stars and tits, what's there not to like. i'm sure most critics will hate it. The Brink made me fucking laugh. i guess it helps that i'm a fan of Tim Robbins and Jack Black. both of them were great. Last Week Tonight was excellent as always:

tonight is going to be a crowded one for me on television. team USA takes on Colombia in the Women's World Cup. at the same time, the Yankees will be playing. and not long after that, Monday Night Raw will be coming on. there will be some serious channel flipping going on as i refuse to put sports on the DVR. hopefully i will be ending the night with a few victory beers.

i got some FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll pass along the link below in the music section.

i never did like this day

this is my first Father's Day with the knowledge that my father is dead. i'm not exactly sure how i'm going to react to shit today. i've already seen commercials that have made me fucking sick to my stomach. it reminds me of watching my neighbor play catch with his son when i was a teenager, wondering why the fuck my father couldn't find the time to do that with me. this has a day of alcohol written all over it.

for those of you that had great fathers or still enjoy the company of your father, here's a touching music video for you people:

the New York Yankees broke out the whipping stick last night and beat the Tigers 14-3. that capped off a nearly perfect day at Yankee Stadium. Old Timer's Day was excellent as usual. the ceremony to honor Willie Randolph was good:
but, the moment that got me was the surprise plaque for Mel Stottlemyre:
as you might imagine, given how much cancer has played a role in my adult life, i was wiping tears for the next hour or so. thankfully, the Old Timer's game itself had a few laughs in it:

ROH was excellent last night. of course, anytime you have an episode with Nakamura and AJ Styles on it, it's going to be great.

Power was great last night. i loved the ending and how many layers this season has already started.

i wrote 2 poems last night, so that made 3 for the day. i typed those 3 up late last night and i think they are really good. not sure when i'll send them out, sort of depends on when other poems gets published.

enjoy another musical interlude:

it appears my breakfast didn't want to stay in my body as long as i wanted it to. thankfully, i made it to the toilet in time. i suppose, it would have been more appropriate that i didn't for today.

my afternoon today will be a mix of baseball and soccer. my evening will be jam packed with some new shows on HBO. i'm really looking forward to the new season of True Detective. the first season was damn near perfect, so i have high hopes for this one. after that, two new shows come on; Ballers and The Brink. hopefully i will enjoy both of them. over on Showtime will be Nurse Jackie, Happyish and Penny Dreadful. the night will close out with Last Week Tonight on HBO. given that i'm running on about 4 hours of sleep at the moment, you can bet that i will be using the DVR for all of that.

i really hope the Yankees win today as it is painfully obvious i really need a fucking drink.

for those good fathers out there, i hope you enjoy your day. for the pieces of shit like my own was, do yourself a favor and just fucking try. i know i would have respected my father about a trillion times more than i do now if he just would have put forth some kind of fucking effort. but, that ship has sailed. if you truly don't want your children to hate you until the end of time, take advantage of the present and be something resembling a man.

to all the single mothers out there who have to play both roles of parent, i hope you enjoy the day as well. god knows, you certainly deserve to do so.

i hope your weekend is going good. i actually got a few things done yesterday and it was dry enough to clean out the water logged bird feeders. there is nothing worse than bird seed that has gone bad. it's like trying to clean out pure shit. the kind of shit that stinks to high heaven. that smell and the smell of death are trapped in my head forever.

on that good note, i wish everyone adieu

these damn dreary days

i woke up this morning and it was still raining. everything outside looks like a wet dog. i'm really hoping the sun comes out at some point today. maybe just even to open the fucking windows for a bit.

i did write a poem this morning. i haven't typed it up as i'm hoping for more poems to come. nothing quite like having a line come to you when you're taking the morning shit. and when it involves jesus and boobs, you know you have something.

enjoy a musical interlude as i go get a glass of water:

the New York Yankees won last night, 7-2. Adam Warren pitched great, Brett Gardner went 4-5 but all the headlines are about A-Rod getting his 3,000th hit:
today is Old Timer's Day at Yankee Stadium. they will be honoring Willie Randolph with a plaque in Monument Park. today will be the classic nostalgia fuck i always enjoy.

i didn't get done what i wanted to last night. so, i'm hoping i can do that today. i also know i need to vacuum and probably help mom in the garage. and if it fucking rains all day long, maybe i'll sneak in a nap somewhere.

here's some funny shit from last night:

on television today i'll be flipping through some soccer as the Women's World Cup starts back up, the Copa America, some baseball, avoiding golf as much as possible and like i usually do, i'll find some music channel to just zone out to.

tonight on the DVR i will have Power and ROH.

i guess i missed one hell of a show last night from ROH. i'm sure i'll see some highlights from it popping up on tv or YouTube here soon.

since it's the weekend, enjoy another video:

i hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully you have better weather than i do. go enjoy it. get drunk in the arms of a stranger and remember to only fuck the ones that cough.

oh how i miss my afternoon naps

another day, another afternoon adventure. i believe this is my mother's way to slowly work me back into society. i feel like i am more comfortable in public but, fuck i miss my afternoon naps. today we went to Menards to get some shit that mom needed. she didn't find what she was looking for but got something anyway. it is heavy as fuck and guess who gets to put it together. and this is where my hatred for my father is the strongest as he taught me absolutely nothing as a child about tools, putting shit together, etc. so, this is simply an argument waiting to happen. good times.

after that, we went to lunch. i had a sandwich and fries and the absolute weakest lemonade i have ever tasted in my life. it was more water with lemon that anything. at least the sandwich was good.

at the grocery store, it appeared like since they were doing some reconstructing, they were testing the fire alarms. you can imagine with my mother's disease how happy she was at this. while we were walking around, i did catch eyes with this stunning black girl. that was the problem though, she had jail bait written all over her. i felt like giving her my card and telling her to call me in 4 years or so.

once we got home, i had 86 fucking emails to go through. seeing what little money i make is from online surveys, i have to go through each and every fucking email. tedious would be an understatement. at least dinner was excellent tonight.

enjoy a quick music break:

Smackdown last night was excellent. i really enjoyed the match between Cesaro and Kevin Owens.
enjoy the top ten highlights from the show:

The Comedians last night was excellent. next week is the season finale.

here is some funny shit from last night:

the New York Yankees offense came alive last night as they beat the Marlins 9-4. that split the series with them as they start a series with the Tigers tonight. they are currently tied in the 2nd inning. Alex Rodriguez got his 3,000th hit in the first inning tonight by hitting a HR. figures, he did it just like Jeter. hopefully i will be enjoying a victory beer tonight.

i figure i will be flipping between baseball tonight and god knows what else. i'd love to get the ROH ppv tonight but i'm being a cheap ass tonight.

speaking of being a cheap ass, if anyone would like to get ANYTHING from my Amazon.com wishlist for me, you are more than welcome to do so. there are plenty of items on it that are just a few bucks. a sure way to win my love forever. you can find my wishlist on the right hand side of this blog.

i'm sick of the fucking rain. and whenever the damn sun comes out, the whole area turns into a damn sauna. and my frustration is boiling over with the fucking squirrels. i'm at the point where i'm going to start poisoning the little flying rats.

that's all for me today kids. i hope everyone has a great weekend. i'm hoping to get shit done this weekend. hopefully my arthritis allows it. have a drink on me kids.

at least there was a few hours of sunshine

mom has decided to spend her birthday week going through all the boxes here at the house. have i mentioned that most of the boxes are in the garage and the garage doesn't have air conditioning. talk about working in a damn sauna. thankfully, we must have got enough done yesterday that she didn't so much out there today.

mom wanted to go out for lunch today, so we did. we had a guy do some work on our furnace and air conditioner today, so it ended up being a late lunch. after that, we did a little shopping. i'm trying to find a stand for wine glasses, not one that you attach to anything. of course, didn't find it. but, i did find a commemorative football about Ohio State winning the national championship. so, i got that instead. plus, i was looking for some frames. of course, they are all odd sizes, so no luck there either. but i did find some black construction paper that will allow me to finish another project i have for some autograph photos i have. if we would have made it back home before the storms hit, it would have been a perfect day. but that didn't happen. nothing like driving and seeing HUGE lightning bolts hitting the ground a few miles from you. the rain was coming down so hard at one point i felt like a damn storm chaser. i avoided the highway as i figured some fucker would cause an accident. so, i drove a little out of the way, but made it home.

now enjoy a musical break:

the New York Yankees finally won last night, 2-1. they got some great pitching and just enough offense to get it done. they hopefully get the split in the series tonight. they are currently leading in the game.

wrestling last night was very good. sadly, the storms fucked with my viewing for most of the night. so that means i didn't watch much of ROH and TNA at all. but what i did see was awesome.

the match on Lucha Underground last night was spectacular. hats off to Johnny Mundo and Prince Puma for some excellent story telling and some true HOLY SHIT moments. enjoy the highlights:

on NXT last night, Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe beat the shit out of each other. i didn't expect a clean finish as i expect these two will feud with each other for a few more months. plus, the package they put together about Finn Balor was top notch. enjoy both below:

while enjoying a victory beer, i came across some pretty funny shit on tv last night:

i suppose i will flip between some baseball and soccer tonight. on the DVR will be Smackdown (mostly because of Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro) and The Comedians.

if my arthritis allows it tonight, i'd like to get some writing done. or, get a project done with my sports collectibles. if the way i feel now is any indication, it most likely won't happen.

do give the Sam Roberts Wrestling podcast a listen this week. it's a very good show:

that's all for me today. i hope the weather is better wherever you are. i'm currently having a conversation with someone on Google+ who tells me she's this hot woman in Florida but currently is in Nigeria. gee, wonder when the money scam starts.

time to build the ark

we're under a flash flood watch at the moment. this is a time where i'm actually happy that i'm not on the farm. i know damn well that parts of the fields would be under water by now. it's been going back and forth from pouring rain like it's the end of the world to a constant drizzle that's more annoying than anything. the worst thing with all this is the fucking humidity. this isn't a cooling rain. this is a mosquito dream rain. and the animals out here have been going nuts. between the birds fighting with each other to get to the dry food to the fucking squirrels taking down a feeder and taking it up the tree with them. and to think, we might actually see the sun again on Monday. fuck me runnin'.

i didn't watch much of the NBA Finals last night. what i did see i knew the Cavs had nothing left. as LeBron said after the game, they simply ran out of talent. i still think he somehow brings a title to Cleveland, but he may have to sell his soul again to do it.

Deadliest Catch was excellent last night. it's one of the few reality shows that i actually believe what i'm seeing.

Tyrant was great last night. i though they might have done the bravest thing a show could do and kill off the main character in the first episode of the second season. by the end of the episode, i knew better. but it definitely sets up a crazy season ahead.

here's some funny shit from last night:

i did make it over to the bank today. i was tempted to keep a few $100 bills out of what i was going to deposit, but i didn't. it was a fun drive over to the bank with all the rain. nearly watched three assholes hydroplane when they hit a huge puddle of water. i played it safe, knowing damn well if i wreck the only car we have, mom WILL kill me.

other than the trip to the bank, today has been about sleep and arthritis. good times.

enjoy a quick music break:

tonight is turning into one of my favorite nights of television. i'll have ROH and Lucha Underground on the DVR. hell, i might even put TNA on it as well. i will be watching the WWE Network tonight to see NXT. mostly, because of this:
i would stop literally anything i was doing to watch those two wrestle each other. the cherry on top of my night is that Lucha Underground will be a 60 minute match between Johnny Mundo vs. Prince Puma. that will be off the charts great.

team USA did beat Nigeria last night, 1-0. they won their group but i still think they need to play much better if they want to win the Women's World Cup.

the Yankees game was basically over in the first inning last night. you're not going to come back when you give up 8 runs in the first. they lost 12-2 to the Marlins. they are back in New York tonight to play the same team. chances are, i won't be watching.

with the NBA and NHL seasons over with now, the silly season can begin. i expect trade rumors galore with the New York Rangers. and i actually think they will do one before the draft. and if they can get a pick in the first round in this draft especially, i would do a Cam Talbot trade in a heartbeat. this draft is fucking loaded this season.

i did see that Manchester United's schedule was released for next season today. hopefully it's one that has some titles at the end of it.

that's all for me today. i'm tapping out from the rain. my arthritis is beating the shit out of me right now.

hope everyone is good, dry, healthy, drunk, naked, enjoying a public park or perhaps the comfort of your back porch. anything to piss off your neighbors.

happy birthday to the woman that should have aborted me, probably

today is my mother's birthday. as i told her in her card this morning, 62 rhymes with fuck you, so you have an automatic response to any birthday talk. she liked what i got her, so that made me very happy. now, i just want her to decide if she wants to go out for a birthday dinner or if she wants me to cook (stop laughing) or go get something and bring it home. i figure she will tell me as i'm about 3/4 of the way through writing this.

i sent out 18 poems today. 5 to Carcinogenic Poetry. 3 each to Dead Snakes, The Camel Saloon and Rusty Truck. i also sent 4 poems to Janne Karlsson. those 4 poems i have never sent anywhere. i figured maybe his genius pen could figure something out with them. well, about a hour or so after i sent them, he emailed me back. he definitely wants to try to use the 4 together as a book of some kind. he said one of the poems i sent was one of the most beautiful love poems ever written. those are the kind of words that give me some fucking fuel to keep going. so, if any publishers out there would like to get their hands on this (with the thought of publishing it in 2016 or later), please let me or Janne know. when i hear back from the other places i sent to i will pass on the verdicts.

i'm really getting tired of this never ending cycle of heat and rain we are in. it's like we either moved to fucking Florida or Oregon. it's fucking nuts.

enjoy a quick music break:

Monday Night Raw had plenty of moments last night i didn't like. but, the ones i did like, i really liked. and most of that involved the best heel in all of wrestling right now, Kevin Owens. enjoy:
that right there friends is how you get heat and how you become one of the biggest heels in years on the big stage.
two other parts of Raw made me smile:
now, if they would only go back to making this a 2 hour show, it would be a solid 2 hours with no fluff.

the New York Yankees lost 2-1 last night as the offense decided to take the night off. they play 3 more games against the Marlins; 1 in Miami and 2 in New York. hopefully they get a win tonight.

here's some pretty funny shit from last night:

tonight on the DVR will be Deadliest Catch and the start of season 2 of Tyrant. the USA women play Nigeria tonight in the Women's World Cup. depending on what mom wants to do, i might watch some of that and the NBA Finals.

congrats to Chicago on winning the Stanley Cup. i don't watch them give the cup to the winner anymore. it's too painful when you know the hockey team you have rooted for since you were a child was good enough to win it all once again, but came up short.

i will hopefully dodge more raindrops tomorrow and make it to the bank to make a BIG ASS deposit. i can't remember the last time i put in over $2,000 into my checking account. it probably hasn't happened since i got into a car accident when i was 23 that wasn't my fault. State Farm paid me off pretty good on that one.

surviving the heat

it rained like it was the end of the world this morning. in my utopia, that would cool things down. instead, here in hell, it warmed everything up. nothing quite like wearing the humidity. and since i'm a true asshole, i wore all black today.

i took mom to get her driver's license renewed. after that, she wanted to go eat. we went to my favorite sports bar. after that, we had some things we needed to get at Meijer, Kroger, etc. that started the adventure of shopping in the fucking heat. holy shit, it was hot. and since i knew i would have a ton of email when i got back home (76), i bought myself some alcohol. i've been wanting to buy some Jagermeister for awhile now. so, imagine my joy when i find a bottle that comes with a flask for $23. done deal. let's just say my intake of alcohol is going to go up from now until i die probably.

enjoy a quick music break as i prepare my thoughts on last night:

the Money in the Bank ppv last night was excellent. it started off with a very touching tribute to Dusty Rhodes:
after that, i knew everyone would put on a show worthy of the Dream. and they did. i did not enjoy that Kevin Owens lost to John Cena. i did enjoy Kevin beating the shit out of Cena after Cena's bullshit you belong here, great job, blah blah blah. i imagine they will wrestle again at SummerSlam. if so, hopefully Kevin destroys him for good. the main event of the evening was top notch. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose put on a show. these two are part of the reason why i am so high on the future of pro wrestling. all in all, a really good show:

we had some storms roll through here last night. that of course fucked up most of everything i was recording on the DVR. so, since i was running on high after wrestling, i just stayed up and watched everything. Nurse Jackie was really good. Happyish was great once again. Penny Dreadful was brilliant as usual. the season finale of Silicon Valley was hilarious. the season of Veep was great. i would love to see some political chaos like that in this country again. and once again, Last Week Tonight hit another out of the park:

the New York Yankees won yesterday 5-3 to avoid the sweep in Baltimore. they are playing down in Miami as i am writing this. hopefully they can start another WINNING streak going.

tonight i will be sort of flipping between baseball, the Stanley Cup Final, Monday Night Raw and god knows what else. mostly, i just want to sit back and enjoy the fucking air conditioning.

in the mail today i got a copy of Only The Dead by Wolfgang Carstens and Janne Karlsson. it is fucking amazing. i highly urge you to check it out. you can find more on it by going here:

maybe a shower will do the trick

let me put on the broken record... it's hot, humid, steamy, miserable, and it's been like that today since 8 am. lovely.

mom decided that we needed to clean out the vacuum cleaner. like take it apart and clean it. that's always fun in the heat. hopefully we got all of the dirt and shit. the fun part will happen tomorrow after everything air dries. putting it back together.

we went to Bob Evans for dinner last night. i probably haven't been there in well over a decade. i was a little surprised that the food was really good.

here's something to make you think:

the soccer yesterday was somewhat hit and miss. i left and missed Paraguay's comeback on Argentina. i did see most of the Columbia women's huge upset over France. of course, the mistakes by the officials have been horrendous. i closed my night out by watching the U20 USA team lose to Serbia in the U20 World Cup. they lost on penalty kicks. i was sad to see the fairy tale end, but i'm happy to see some real talent coming for team USA in the years to come.

Power was excellent. i ended up watching that this morning. i really love how many layers the story has this season.

i also watched ROH this morning. i love me some heel Cedric Alexander. that should help his career. plus, the ongoing drama between BJ Whitmer and Steve Corino via Steve's son has been damn near perfect. another great episode.

enjoy a quick music break:

i did find the Yankees on tv last night. of course, i stopped watching once they started having their asses handed to them once again. another day, another loss, 9-4. they have to be the worst built first place team in baseball. they try to avoid the sweep this afternoon. i doubt i watch much of it.

my arthritis has been killing me today. trouble typing, trouble turning the knobs of doors, trouble holding a fork. good times.

i will probably watch some more soccer today before the hectic night schedule starts. since i will be watching the Money in the Bank ppv on the WWE Network, these shows will be on the DVR: the season finales of Veep and Silicon Valley, Last Week Tonight, Nurse Jackie, Happyish and Penny Dreadful. i suppose i will keep track of the NBA Finals tonight on the computer as the wrestling is going on.

i guess depending on how the rest of my day goes will decide if i watch all that late tonight or spend most of my Monday catching up.

that's all for me today. i can no longer find any pleasure in the pain. i'm speaking in the now, not in a metaphorical sense of suicide or something. i do hope your weekend is going good.

summer isn't made for fat people

nothing like breaking out in a sweat when taking a few steps outside to go check the mailbox. and here i thought the storms that rolled through last night was going to cool things down a bit. so much for that.

the storms did knock out the satellite for a little bit. i didn't mind as the Yankees were getting pounded at the moment. but, i was trying to record NJPW on the DVR. that screwed that up. thankfully, i got to see the main event. that was great as usual.

the Yankees lost last night 11-3. the only bright spot was getting to see Mason Williams finally play in the big leagues. they play again tonight at Baltimore. thankfully, i believe the game will be blacked out for me.

VICE was excellent last night. if you have any interest in what is going on in the Middle East, it's a MUST watch episode:

i did manage to write 5 pretty damn good poems last night. i typed those up this morning. that should give me enough poems to send out a quick submission or two this coming week.

mom surprised me this morning and paid me the money i made in the auction. that should be an interesting look at the bank when i bring in a couple grand in cash to deposit.

here's some funny shit from last night:

i got a $15 code for iTunes yesterday. so, i tried to catch up on some songs i've been wanting to buy but i was busy being cheap. you'll see all that down in the music section.

i think most of my day today is going to involve soccer. from the Women's World Cup to the Copa America to the European qualifiers, i should have enough to keep me busy or put me to sleep.

the USA women played Sweden to a 0-0 draw last night. i'm not sure what's up with the USA forwards. i hope they realize they do need to score at some point if they want to win it all.

tonight will be a mix of some hockey, Austin City Limits, ROH and god knows what else. on the DVR will be Power, a very underrated show on Starz.

enjoy a quick music break:

my new chair is a radical change for me. everything is motorized. that should help me when my arthritis is killing me. plus, the massage on it worked pretty good yesterday. i figure once i get used to it, i should be able to nap in it pretty easily.

the trip to the grocery store yesterday was pretty interesting. about 5 minutes after we arrived, the bone spurs in my right foot went nuts. that was fun walking with a limp the entire time. the only thing that got me through was the lovely women. it might be the only reason why i tolerate the fucking heat. seeing women wearing next to nothing or something short and tight certainly helps me get through the day. as you might imagine, yes, one of the poems last night was about that.

that's pretty much all for me today. i do hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. hopefully you'll have a chance to lounge in the shade with a cold beverage that someone else bought.

waking up in a sweat

maybe it was the heat. maybe it was the underlying sentiments from my mother and sister. maybe it was death. maybe it was a sense that i'm entering a new chapter of my life. but waking up in a pool of your own sweat while the air conditioner and a fan is on overnight is a bit unsettling. of course, 45 minutes after waking up, i'm swallowing 2 pills of Imodium. good times.

the Cavs went cold last night and ran out of gas and Golden State finally realized they were playing in the finals. a recipe for disaster if you want Cleveland to win. Golden State won by 21 last night. the game really never felt that close. next game is on Sunday.

The Comedians last night was hilarious. i really think the show has found its legs now.

the Dayton Flyers got a good transfer from Bradley yesterday. best thing, he'll have 3 years left at UD. and he knows how to rebound. i have to love a kid who got 21 rebounds as a freshman. welcome to Dayton, Josh Cunningham. he chose Dayton over Illinois.

mom and i went to Waffle House for dinner last night. that could explain my morning.

enjoy some music while i think of something to say:

not that i actually watched anything late last night, but here's some funny shit anyways:

i have a busier than shit day ahead of me. before noon, i'd like to get to the bank and post office. after my chair arrives this afternoon, mom and i are going to the grocery store. we have the chance to get some heavy storms today on top of everything. tonight, i'm hoping to enjoy watching the USA women take on Sweden in the Women's World Cup.

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and VICE.

if i get a chance tonight, i'd like to get some writing done. i'd like to get enough poems to have some submissions to go for the next week.

that's all for me today. i need to get going. i hope everyone has a great weekend. if not, look in the mirror.
