that phrase has become a go to in the last few years for me. i try to apply that to everything i do anymore. poetry, sports, watching tv, anything... what i have found is my frustration has simply grown that others don't have the same philosophy. now, i have tried to mend my asshole ways and not take that frustration out on others. but, taking frustration out on myself is an old ass pastime that has never been as productive as i would hope. which leads me to the playoffs last night...
the New York Rangers lost Game 5 last night at home to Carolina, 4-1. considering they went into the third period up 1-0 last night, i'm a little pissed at the lack of urgency they showed in the last 20 minutes. with that being said, they are still up 3-2 in the series. Game 6 will be Thursday night at Carolina.
here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night.
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:
The Voice was really good last night. i have no damn clue who is going home tonight.
Monday Night Raw was excellent last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be NXT, The Voice and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon 10 year anniversary show.
the New York Yankees play tonight in Minnesota.
i'm sure i will watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight.
now, tomorrow, everything gets a bit tricky for me. mom has a doctors appointment in the afternoon. i will have to do the grocery shopping after that. that means i am going to try to get the blog done in the morning tomorrow. i also need to go to the bank tomorrow. plus, doing all this in the afternoon means i will miss watching Manchester United play the final home match of the season against Newcastle.
i need to get the trash picked up and figure out what i'm making for dinner tonight.
this rain has been just enough today to be fucking miserable.
until tomorrow kids...

that is an old adage i have heard since i was a child. i'm thinking about it as i recall the Rangers game last night. they lost 2-0 to Carolina. the power play failed them mightily last night. with that being said, Carolina had the best penalty kill this season. so, basically, the Rangers desperately need to win Game 3 at home tomorrow. if they don't, i don't see this series going past 4 or 5 games at best.
here are the highlights from the Battle of Alberta last night:
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:
Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both pretty good last night.
AEW Rampage was really good last night.
George Carlin's American Dream, Part 1 was excellent last night. hopefully, part 2 will be even better tonight.
Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.
Pause with Sam Jay was great last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be George Carlin's American Dream, part 2 and the season finale of Saturday Night Live.
i'm sure i will watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight, as well as some MLS games most likely.
the New York Yankees play this afternoon at home against the White Sox. hopefully, the weather is good enough to play today.
i should be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays their final game of the season at Crystal Palace.
thanks to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
so, i finally set up my cell phone today. i never wanted to have one, but my mother insisted and i finally gave in. of course, i have nothing to charge the damn thing on, so i know what i'll be buying soon. the first message i got on it was a link to a porn site. that made me laugh. it's going to take me awhile to get the hang of it, but mom was sort of shocked how quickly i figured things out. if you would like my number, send me a message.
WWE Tribute to the Troops was good yesterday.
NXT Takeover War Games last night was fucking great.
Euphoria was really fucking good last night. i guess the next episode will be in January.
the finale of Murder on Middle Beach was excellent last night.
Power Book II: Ghost was very good last night.
Shameless was fucking hilarious last night. can't believe it's the final season of the show.
Your Honor looks like it is going to be one of those holy shit shows.
both episodes of Moonbase 8 last night were pretty forgettable.
the New Orleans Saints defeated Atlanta yesterday, 21-16. with the Bears loss, the Saints victory qualified them for the playoffs. they are now 10-2 on the season.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Axios, The Voice, Industry and I Can See Your Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i think there are a couple of NFL games tonight i might watch some of.
i have to take mom to get a COVID test tomorrow. i suppose i will be on here after i get home and hopefully before the Dayton Flyers play tomorrow night.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

so, it's been a few weeks, so it was bound to happen again... some strange woman contacted me, sent me messages, all the beautiful pictures didn't produce any red flags and before you know it... here comes a conversation about someone needing some money. so, all my bullshit detectors went off, but the little bastard inside of me that so desperately needs to feel loved and needs attention, so badly wants it to be someone who is wordly, has a sense of the dramatic and gives off the vibe of danger... that little bastard wasn't willing to call it a scam. but thankfully, the cynical old fuck still runs the show... sadly, i know damn well i'll probably never get to fall in love again and have it actually mean something. i guess when the bottle starts turning me down, we're all in for a world of shit...
ROH was pretty good last night. it was a few matches involving Dragon Lee.
i helped mom make this big breakfast this morning that she got from Omaha Steaks. i was really surprised she handled the spices as well as she did. of course, it was a big enough meal that both of us ended up taking naps afterwards. i swear, anymore, if i put some ice on my back and get in my massage chair, i'm going to fall asleep.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be VICE, Hightown, I Know This Much Is True, Insecure, Billions and Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.
i'll probably watch a little of the golf today between Tiger, Phil, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
and i'll probably watch some of the NASCAR race tonight as well.
as of right now, i have no plans for Memorial Day. i know i bought some ribs that we're planning on making for the afternoon on Monday. i know mom has a doctor's appointment in the morning on Tuesday...
i hope everyone had a great Saturday, all things considered. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

Sunday has finally arrived. this could end up being the biggest day in the history of U.S. Soccer. now, while i agree with it's so fucking stupid for FIFA to have scheduled 2 other finals on the same day as the Women's World Cup Final, it is what it is.
the USWNT takes on the Netherlands in the final of the Women's World Cup. i'm not cocky enough to think the USA is going to run away with this one. it should be a really tight game. that being said, i would love to see the women win easily.
the USMNT takes on Mexico this evening in the final of the Gold Cup. the men have closed the gap between the countries in this tournament a little, but i still think Mexico is the favorite. i would love to see the USA pull of the double today.
the New York Yankees lost yesterday to Tampa, 4-3. oh well. hopefully the Yankees win this afternoon to win the series. today is the final game before the All-Star break.
a storm hit right as the G1 Climax was starting last night, so i missed a little of the show. the matches were pretty good. the best match of the night for me was Kenta vs. Kota Ibushi. it was so good to see Kenta free from the shackles of the WWE.
the former muse told me that Bohemian Rhapsody was really good. i watched it last night and was very happy. Queen was always one of those bands that i loved growing up. i now see why all the interest in their music once again. and i can definitely see why Rami Malek won the Oscar.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Our Cartoon President, City on a Hill, Big Little Lies and Euphoria.
i suppose i should eat some breakfast before the match starts.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday is even better.
i will be on here tomorrow in the afternoon most likely.

so i've been up since 5 this morning, mostly because i'm not ashamed to admit that i love pro wrestling enough that i sacrifice sleep for it. and for at least two matches, it was absolutely worth it. more on that later.
happy July 4th to everyone. enjoy the fireworks, hot dogs, burgers, beers, and whatever else you do on this day:
last night was an interesting one. first off, team USA did not play that well against Guatemala, but still came away with a 4-0 win. hopefully they play better when the Gold Cup starts in a few days. i did like this goal though:
it's about fucking time...
the New York Yankees got behind 3-0 last night and i figured, given the pitcher they were facing, it was done. silly me. Tampa took their starter out and the Yankees offense finally showed up. Tex hit a huge 3 run HR that tied the game in the 8th. the Yankees pissed away chance after chance to win the game. and then the 12th inning happened. i'm fucking sick and tired of Girardi over managing this team. he brought in a reliever when he didn't need to and of course, Tampa goes up 5-3. thankfully, Tampa walked the lead off batter of the bottom of the 12th. then the inning goes like this: strikeout, hit by A-Rod beating the shift, single by Tex to score a run, and then boom. there was fireworks going off outside the stadium. Brian McCann made sure they went off inside as well.
easily the best win of the season. they play again this afternoon.
NJPW was excellent last night. hopefully one day the promotion will start airing matches in this country that are currently going on.
enjoy a quick music break boys and girls:
the WWE event this morning, Beast in the East, started off great. Jericho vs. Neville was a very good match. the ladies match was good, not great. i did like how they booked Brock Lesnar as he virtually killed The New Day. but for some fucking reason, the WWE put on the match that should have finished the show next. Balor vs. Owens was a fucking classic. and as much as i love Kevin Owens, this was the proper thing to see after the match:
hopefully this means Kevin Owens will be winning Cena's US Championship in 2 weeks. the "main event" ended up being Cena and Ziggler vs. Kane and King Barrett. who the fuck gives a shit about a match that you could easily see on television on any Monday or Thursday. stupid, stupid, stupid. if i was booking the show, i put Owens and Balor on last and tell the vets to suck it up, they are better than you are. get over it. all in all, i'm glad i was up to watch it. it just could have been a much better show if the 3rd match of the year that Kevin Owens has been in would have gone on last.
the rest of my day looks like this: watching the Hot Dog eating contest, watching the Yankees, watching some soccer, including the Copa America final between Chile and Argentina. i figure tonight i'll find some fireworks on the television somewhere and then watch ROH and god knows what else. in between all that sitting on my ass, i'm figuring there will be some food bad for me, a long nap, a few items put together that mom wants done, and some bird watching as that is what passes for entertainment in this glorified retirement community i'm in.
i did talk to a stranger on Google+ this morning. i know, you have heard this before. her name is Rose, single, no kids, etc. so far, she hasn't mentioned needing money or Nigeria, so things are looking up. plus, her picture looks nice as well. that is probably a red flag, but i have the dreamer's disease.
that's all for me today. hope everyone has a great weekend. be safe. have fun. stay out of jail.

"I love living. I have some problems with my life, but living is the best thing they've come up with so far." - Neil Simon
we're under a flood warning or a watch or an end of the world type shit event going on now as it is fucking pouring rain. my mother felt good enough to go into work today by herself and is going to go to the grocery store afterwards. to say i'm a bit nervous would be an understatement. but, hopefully i'll be putting away groceries right after i finish this blog today.
i decided to clean the toilets and take out the trash today. i told my mother i would at least make an effort when we moved and i would like to think that is what i'm doing.
the New York Yankees lost 4-0 last night in Houston. i only watched the 9th inning, when they brought the tying run to the plate. at least they gave themselves a chance. hopefully they will get back to winning tonight.
i mostly watched the NBA Draft last night. it went sort of like i expected. i was really disappointed that Jordan Sibert didn't get drafted. Dayton hasn't had anyone drafted since 1990. god willing, that will change soon. Sacramento drafted Willie Cauley-Stein. if they keep DeMarcus Cousins, i love the pick. two Kentucky guys controlling the front court. now, just get a decent point guard and the team can start the climb back to being relevant.
Big Brother was interesting last night. the first twist to annoy the shit out of me is 2 people from the show The Amazing Race are now playing Big Brother. something like this will happen each week of the game. i did catch some of Big Brother After Dark last night as well. hopefully in a few weeks the alcohol starts flowing as there definitely seems to be some freaky people in the house this year.
the season finale of The Comedians was hilarious. i'm not sure if it will be back for another season, but hopefully it will be.
here's some funny shit from last night:
today is really all about the NHL Draft. the New York Rangers are trying to get back in the first round. they have been offered a first round pick for Cam Talbot, but they would have to take a bad contract back for that pick. this is a deep enough draft that if i was the Rangers, i'd bite the fucking bullet and do it. so, as you might imagine, i'll be glued to that tonight.
also tonight, team USA plays China in the Women's World Cup. i'm sure i'll catch plenty of that during the draft.
on the DVR tonight, weather permitting, will be NJPW and Vice.
i guess my sister is coming down tomorrow. we're planning on going out to lunch, so it looks like i may be taking a shower tonight.
my sister's friend came by the house this morning to get her furniture that was here. that cleans out even more from the garage. and thankfully they got here long before the rains came.
here's a little music to take you into the weekend:
i hope everyone has a lovely weekend. hopefully the rain stops here before i have to start building an arc.

i don't know what is, but the New York Rangers are a completely different animal when facing elimination. i was confident last night, but cautious. by the end of the game, i was fully convinced that this is the year.
the Rangers started off strong, scoring first. it was also the first of three goals for Derick Brassard:
the King was back to being THE KING:
the Rangers exploded in the 3rd period to take a 2-1 game they were barely winning into a 7-3 convincing defeat. yet another series for the Rangers that is 3-3. given their record in elimination games and Game 7's at home, i think i will go with the goalie that is on the verge of setting the NHL record for Game 7 wins. that game comes on Friday. i have no doubts that MSG will be the loudest building on earth that night. enjoy some highlights:
to double my pleasure last night, the New York Yankees got some strong pitching and got some timely hitting to win 5-1. this afternoon they go for the sweep against one of the best teams in baseball. such a crazy damn sport.
as you might imagine, i was feeling pretty damn good after two victory beers.
had some weather roll through the area yesterday. kind of eerie, the place that mom and i were at over the weekend got hit with a tornado. i'm starting to think maybe it's me. we just got some rain here.
Deadliest Catch was good last night.
on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground as it is on the same time as NXT is on the WWE Network. and seeing that the Yankees play this afternoon, tonight is going to be pro wrestling and some playoff basketball and hockey.
speaking of playoff basketball, i did watch a little of the Cavs sweeping the Hawks last night:
if LeBron leads Cleveland to winning a championship, you might as well name the fucking city after him. if you ever wanted to see what it would look like to see someone treated like an actual deity, we are 4 Cleveland wins away from seeing it.
the lawn company treated the grass this morning, so i'm happy i fed the birds yesterday. hopefully the new furniture gets here before the next round of thunderstorms are supposed to start.
that's all for me kids. i actually got a shower in early this morning, so i'm feeling pretty good at the moment. i'm sure once the rain gets closer, or the Yankees start losing, that will all change.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
