better late than never

i stayed up late last night, wanting to make sure my sister's flight to Europe actually landed. it was delayed a couple hours and with the crazy ass weather... so, i didn't get to bed until sometime after 4.

when i woke up, the New York Yankees were in the process of going down 4-0 to Boston in London. they would be trailing until the 7th inning, when the Yankees exploded for 9 runs. DiDi extended the home run streak to 31 in the 8th inning. of course, the Yankees bullpen tried to make interesting... eventually, the Yankees won today 12-8. the Red Sox are now 11 games behind in the AL East. i won't count them out completely, but i will say they have little to no chance of winning the division now. the Yankees are off tomorrow and start a series at the Mets on Tuesday.

the Gold Cup was fucking crazy last night. Canada blew a 2 goal lead and lost to Haiti, 3-2. Mexico and Costa Rica went to penalty kicks and like always, Mexico ousted Costa Rica from the Gold Cup.

tonight, Jamaica takes on Panama and the USA plays Curacao.

Ramy Youssef: Feelings was fucking hilarious last night.

ROH was pretty good last night.

AEW Fyter Fest was good last night, up until the final 3 matches. those matches were fucking great.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Sermon on the Mount (HBO), Big Brother, Our Cartoon President, City on a Hill, Big Little Lies, Euphoria and Last Week Tonight.

the silly season for NBA free agency is about to begin. the NHL free agency begins tomorrow at noon.

i did listen to the bonus podcast from Notsam Wrestling this afternoon. you can find that by going here: https://soundcloud.com/notsamwrestling/eric-bischoff-and-paul-heyman

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. hopefully your Sunday has been even better.

i will probably be on here sometime in the afternoon tomorrow.

until then kids...

one of the craziest games i have EVER seen...

so, i decided to write about this on a whim, mostly because i don't want to try to remember all this shit for the blog tomorrow. the New York Yankees defeated Boston today in London, 17-13. the game took 4 hours and 42 minutes. the Yankees got off to a 6-0 lead right from the start. of course, by the time the bottom of the first was over, the score was 6-6. the Yankees home run streak is now up to 30 games in a row. Hicks, Judge and Gardner all hit home runs today. i felt pretty comfortable when the Yankees were up 17-6. of course, the bullpen did all they could to try to piss that lead away. thankfully, they didn't. the Yankees will play again tomorrow morning. hopefully, they will get some better pitching and another victory.

in the Women's World Cup, Sweden defeated Germany, 2-1. so that sets up the semi-finals.
USA vs. England and Sweden vs. the Netherlands

so now it's going to be a night of flipping between the Gold Cup and some pro wrestling.

and of course, it's 90 degrees outside and mom wanted the air conditioning turned up higher because she felt cold. i've got it at 74. i'm willing to bet i'll have to take it to 78 before too long. i suppose i'll just sweat myself to sleep tonight.

until tomorrow kids...

how i just love waking up to the sound of a lawnmower...

it never fucking fails. a Saturday morning where i feel like i could actually get some decent fucking sleep for a change. sure enough, 9 in the morning, i wake up to the sounds of a fucking lawnmower. god, how i miss these days on the fucking farm where humanity was far enough away i never had to hear them.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.

Los Espookys was excellent last night.

at the Women's World Cup, USWNT defeated France yesterday 2-1. this morning, the Netherlands defeated Italy, 2-0. Germany takes on Sweden here in a little bit.

in the Gold Cup tonight, Haiti takes on Canada and Mexico plays Costa Rica.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Ramy Youssef: Feelings.

the New York Yankees play the Boston Red Sox later today in London. with how the stadium looks, i'm expecting a ton of home runs the next two days.

i do plan on watching the AEW event tonight, Fyter Fest, mostly to see what should be one of the most violent wrestling matches in recent history, Jon Moxley vs. Joey Janela.

considering the Yankees play in the morning tomorrow, i will probably be on here after that game is over.

i hope everyone has an amazing Saturday. call if you need bail money.

hard to believe it's almost over already...

hard to believe June is almost over already. my mother said the same thing a few days ago. i joked that the fine line of adulthood is when life itself goes from a marathon to a sprint. and of course, death is the reward. good times.

i didn't get much sleep last night. for some fucking reason, i decided to run the latest Windows update last night. i guess you could say i'm a glutton for punishment.

both episodes of Lip Sync Battle were excellent last night.

the final two episodes of Life in Pieces were really good last night. hopefully, if the show ever comes back, it picks up right where it left off.

Baskets was hilarious last night.

Holey Moley was stupid funny once again last night.

Desus & Mero was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Real Time with Bill Maher and Los Espookys.

the USWNT face their toughest opponent of the Women's World Cup today, playing France in France. i have confidence the women will pull it out one way or another, but i know damn well it won't be easy.

i think mom is still compiling the grocery list as i'm writing this. joy.

i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before the Yankees play the Red Sox over in London.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully it's not as hot as it is here wherever you happen to be.

one of those days...

so, my doctor's appointment was interesting. apparently, my A1C is exactly the same as the last time. not exactly the news i wanted, but the doc decided to wait another 3 months before putting me on another pill for it. i wasn't expecting that. also, i wasn't expecting my liver enzymes to be up as well. so, in two weeks i get to have my blood drawn again to see if the numbers are still up or not. if they are, they will send me to a GI doctor to see what's going on. i know eventually, this is all going to lead to them telling me i can't drink anymore and my shitty response of like that will stop me. of course, it also could be do to the oven being out for a month and eating shit out of the microwave and fast food. basically, i'm going to drink more water for the next two weeks and maybe eat a few more vegetables. if the numbers are still up, fuck it.

the New York Yankees won yesterday to sweep Toronto, 8-7. i didn't think the Yankees were going to come back when they were down 5-0 early in the game. but, when you have the power they have in the lineup (29 straight games with a home run) anything is possible. the Yankees are now off until Saturday when they play Boston over in London.

the USMNT changed their entire team last night and defeated Panama 1-0 to win their group in the Gold Cup. Trinidad & Tobago vs. Guyana finished 1-1 last night.

here are the matchups for the next round:
Haiti vs. Canada, Mexico vs. Costa Rica on Saturday; Jamaica vs. Panama, USA vs. Curacao on Sunday.

in the Women's World Cup today, England defeated Norway 3-0. tomorrow is the most anticipated match of the tournament, France vs. USA.

both episodes of The Wrestlers last night were excellent.

True Justice: Bryan Stevenson's Fight For Equality was amazing last night. i totally agree with the sentiment that we as a nation can't move on until we truly deal with all of our horrific past. from the Native Americans, to slaves, Jim Crow laws, the racial inequality of the justice system, lynchings, etc. this documentary should be required viewing for everyone in this damn country.

NXT and NXT UK were both great last night.

Big Brother was pretty funny last night. i'm not sold on this season just yet, but i know i will be soon.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, two episodes of Lip Sync Battle, the final two episodes of Life in Pieces, Holey Moley, Baskets and Desus & Mero.

the plan for tomorrow is to get the blog and the grocery shopping done in the morning because of the fucking heat and the USWNT game tomorrow afternoon. anyone who knows this blog knows nothing fucking goes to plan in my life. so, i will hopefully get the blog done first tomorrow. no guarantees as i just looked and saw i have over 200 emails to get to. joy.

while i should have been asleep...

i mailed out 9 poems this morning. as in morning, i mean having a creative outburst around 3 in the morning. i sent 4 to Hobo Camp Review and 5 to The Writing Disorder. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

the New York Yankees won last night over Toronto, 4-3. they hit 4 solo home runs, which set the new MLB record for consecutive games with a home run. hopefully, they will get the sweep this afternoon.

in Gold Cup action last night, Jamaica and Curacao finished 1-1 and Honduras knocked out El Salvador 4-0. tonight, Trinidad & Tobago take on Guyana and Panama and the USA will face each other to see who wins the group. the winner takes on Curacao in the start of the knockout rounds.

the Women's World Cup has reached the final 8. tomorrow, Norway takes on England. on Friday, France plays the USA. and on Saturday, Italy plays the Netherlands and Germany takes on Sweden.

Smackdown was pretty good last night, as was 205 Live.

Deadliest Catch was crazy last night.

Songland was very good last night.

Big Brother was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, True Justice: Bryan Stevenson's Fight For Equality, Big Brother and two episodes of The Wrestlers. i'll watch NXT and NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i forgot how backwards the city i live in is on my drive to the post office this morning. nothing quite like seeing someone proudly putting up their confederate flag. the ignorance in this town makes no fucking sense to me.

i go to the doctor tomorrow afternoon. i'm sure i will be told i need to go back on the one medication or be given a new medication as my blood sugar numbers have completely gone to shit. i will probably be back on here after that tomorrow. joy.

the feels like temperature was already to 90 before noon today. so yeah, i'll most likely be indoors for most of the rest of the day.

now it feels like summer...

i didn't sleep worth a shit last night. with the fan off and no music playing, i basically had my nightmares put me to sleep. good times.

i did go and get my blood drawn this morning. i went before i had breakfast, figuring that would give a more accurate picture of things. 3 vials of blood and a bruise later, i was on the way to get what mom wanted for breakfast. around noon or so, we went to her bank to make that deposit. and after that, we went to Lowe's because mom forgot to get the protection plan for the new oven. and of course, she forgot her Lowe's card. thankfully, i usually come to class prepared. it was hot enough today that i could feel a little sweat rolling down my back while i was driving. fasting this morning gave me the shits of course, just what i want on a day where it's approaching the upper 80's.

the New York Yankees won last night over Toronto, 10-8. it would have been a little easier on the pitching staff if Jonathan Holder would have done his job when it was 10-2. thankfully, he's been sent back to the minors. the Yankees are going with the bullpen today, so i'm expecting they might have to win another high scoring game tonight. they did homer last night, equaling the major league record for consecutive games with a home run. hopefully, they set a new record tonight.

i thought Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. still at the age of 43, i mark out for The Undertaker like when i was a kid.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

in the Women's World Cup today, Italy defeated China 2-0 and the Netherlands beat Japan 2-1.

in the Gold Cup last night, Bermuda defeated Nicaragua 2-0 and Haiti beat Costa Rica 2-1. tonight, Jamaica takes on Curacao and Honduras plays El Salvador.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Deadliest Catch, Songland and Big Brother. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i truly have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'd love to get the blog done before the Yankees play in the afternoon. of course, that depends on whether mom decides she feels good enough to want to do something.

she normally doesn't do well in the heat. it really fucks with her Meniere's Disease.

i need to get over to next door and get the trash picked up, so that's all for me kids.

not how i thought i would wake up this morning...

so i got to bed around 5 in the morning. i figured i would get a good 4 or 5 hours of sleep, shower, eat and take mom to her doctor's appointment. roughly, 4 1/2 hours into my sleep, that all changed. mom came into my room and told me she was getting ready to shower and she had already fallen once this morning. those words were like a record suddenly coming to a stop and you could hear the scratch a few thousand miles away. i got up and asked her, while still asleep mostly, if she was okay. i don't think i still have processed the whole thing quite yet. of course, she did her usual job of making me feel guilty because i didn't hear her calling for me when she fell. and like the asshole i am, i've been beating myself up for it. i tend to sleep with music playing and my fan on, mostly because it tends to calm me into at least a good nap. so, i guess that ends now. great.

her doctor's appointment was pretty easy. we were able to get back home before the rain started. this whole afternoon has been a dance party for arthritis. i'm really hoping mom doesn't feel any pain. if she does, we get to get some x-rays in the next few days. joy.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday to Houston, 9-4. oh well, they did homer again so they set the club record for consecutive games with a home run. they start a series with Toronto tonight.

i didn't get to watch the USWNT team this afternoon. by the time we got home, the game with Spain was over. thankfully, the USA won 2-1. they will now advance to play France. oh joy. in the other Women's World Cup scores, France defeated Brazil 2-1 and Sweden beat Canada 1-0.

here are your scores from the Gold Cup:
Canada defeated Cuba 7-0 and Mexico beat Martinique 3-2. tonight, Bermuda plays Nicaragua and Haiti takes on Costa Rica.

WWE Stomping Grounds was much better than i thought it was going to be last night.

Axios was very good last night.

Big Little Lies was short but fucking great last night.

Euphoria was excellent last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

Our Cartoon President was hilarious last night.

City on a Hill was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get my blood work done and take mom to the bank.

she won her battle with the insurance company over her disability insurance. i'm sure they didn't expect me to remember everything about the shitty doctor they sent her to. oh well.

i think i am falling in love with this sexy spanish angel. at least, i'm hoping that is what it becomes one day. i think we're both just weird enough for each other. should be an interesting time.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

i'm sure the birds are happy...

somehow, the rain that was supposed to come yesterday never did. that gave me the chance to finally get outside and feed the birds. i had to throw away the one feeder the squirrels destroyed trying to get to the sunflower seeds. and then there were some solar lights that the weather had ruined that needed to go in the trash. i did fill up all the good feeders with some seed and put out the hummingbird feeder as mom said she has seen a couple near the house the last few days. when i got up this morning, there was at least 1 bird on every feeder, so i'm guessing they are happy.

the New York Yankees won last night over the Astros, 7-5. they will go for the sweep this afternoon. i did catch a little of the Old Timer's Day festivities this morning. it was a blast to see Mariano Rivera hit an inside the park home run during the game. he could probably still play if he wanted to.

i was pleased with what the New York Rangers did in the NHL Draft yesterday. i was a little surprised they didn't make any trades. this is going to be a very interesting off-season in the NHL.

the USMNT destroyed Trinidad & Tobago last night, 6-0. that was a pleasant sight to see.

in the other Gold Cup game last night, Panama defeated Guyana 4-2. tonight, Canada plays Cuba and Mexico takes on Martinique.

in the Women's World Cup, yesterday Germany defeated Nigeria 3-0. Norway ousted Australia in a crazy game. the game finished 1-1 and then Norway won on penalty kicks, 4-1. this morning England defeated Cameroon, 3-0. later today, France takes on Brazil.

ROH was pretty good last night.

i wrote 2 poems last night. i typed those up this morning. i really like them. i'm really hoping i find the time this coming week to get another round of submissions out.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Axios, Big Little Lies, Euphoria, Last Week Tonight, Our Cartoon President and City on a Hill. i will be watching WWE Stomping Grounds on WWE Network for most of the evening.

i'm not really sure when i will be on here tomorrow. mom has a doctor's appointment in the afternoon. after that, she wants to go to Menards if she is feeling good enough. if all that happens, i will try to write the blog when i get home. i'm smart enough to know there is little chance i will get up early enough to write one before i have to take her to the doctor.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

apparently, i used all my sleep up in a different life...

i got to bed at a decent hour last night. of course, it was raining just hard enough that i woke up every 35 minutes or so. joy. around 6:30, i decided to fuck it and just get up. i knew my sister was leaving early, so i figured i would see her off. she was going down south for a charity walk with her friends. i made some coffee, had breakfast, checked emails and wanted to write this blog then. my back was killing me, so i decided to go ice my back down in the massage chair. i finally got almost 80 minutes of painless sleep there. as i told my sister last night, the pain is getting to the point where i'm going to have to start using weed or heroin or something to ease it. good times.

the New York Yankees won again last night over Houston, 4-1. that's 7 wins in a row. hopefully, they can keep it going tonight.

i did watch a good portion of the first round of the NHL Draft last night. the New York Rangers got exactly who i was hoping for. i'll pay attention a little bit to the rest of the draft today, mostly because i think the Rangers might be trading a few players to get a little more salary cap space for a certain Russian winger that played in Columbus last season.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

NJPW was really good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty funny last night.

Los Espookys was fucking hilarious last night.

i did watch a little of the Gold Cup last night. here are your scores:
El Salvador vs. Jamaica finished 0-0 and Curacao upset Honduras last night, 1-0.

tonight, Guyana takes on Panama and the USA will be looking for some fucking revenge against Trinidad & Tobago. i will be watching that tonight.

as for the Women's World Cup, Germany is currently leading Nigeria 2-0 at halftime. i do plan on watching some of Norway vs. Australia later this afternoon.

enjoy some music:

i will hopefully have a couple victory drinks tonight and hoping that will ease the pain from the storms we're supposed to have at some point this evening.

the first day of summer...

well, it actually feels like summer today. plenty of sunshine, a little humidity, etc. etc.

i knew as soon as i left to go do the grocery shopping, they would show up with the new oven. sure enough, as i was coming back from the local grocery store, they were putting in the new oven. it's light years from the one that was in here, so it will take some getting used to. but, at least dinner won't be out of the microwave like the last month has been.

the New York Yankees won last night over Houston, 10-6. tonight, Aaron Judge makes his return from injury. and hopefully, the home runs keep on coming.

Lip Sync Battle was fucking crazy last night.

both episodes of Life in Pieces were good last night.

Baskets was hilarious last night.

Holey Moley was so stupid last night. it's like Wipeout meets Putt Putt, so of course i loved it.

Desus & Mero was great last night.

i did watch a little of the Gold Cup last night. here are the scores:
Haiti defeated Nicaragua 2-0 and Costa Rica beat Bermuda 2-1. tonight, El Salvador takes on Jamaica and Honduras plays Curacao.

the Women's World Cup is off today. tomorrow starts the knockout rounds. Germany plays Nigeria and Norway plays Australia.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW, Real Time with Bill Maher and Los Espookys.

the first round of the NHL Draft is tonight. the New York Rangers have the second pick in the draft, so i am fairly confident they can't fuck this up. now, i do expect them to be busy trying to make some trades, but i will be shocked if they get back into the first round after pick #2.

i did watch a good amount of the NBA Draft last night. way too many fucking trades for my liking. and i'm not exactly thrilled with what the Sacramento Kings did, but i am so fucking used to that by now.

i guess my sister will be leaving tomorrow. mom kind of thought she was staying longer. oh well.

the grocery store wasn't bad today. you could tell it was summer, plenty of short shorts and plenty of leg in the store. i'm sure there will be poems.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone has an amazing weekend.

go enjoy it boys and girls.

apparently, the sun was taking the day off...

whenever it is rainy all the fucking time anymore, i get in a pretty bad head space. the pain from the arthritis is getting to the point where it's dragging all of me down. and i know on a good day, i can battle that and just move the fuck on. but, on the days where my past demons start to choke me and i don't feel like fighting for that next breath, i know what is coming next. and i really don't want to harm myself anytime soon, i just know that i won't be able to fight that forever. ah, the life of a poet. write about the pain. write about the pleasure derived from the pain. write about the bleak and the hopeless nights alone. write about a bit of sunshine on a day to commit murder. good times.

the USA women's team defeated Sweden today at the Women's World Cup, 2-0. that means they win the group and will face Spain on Monday. here are the others scores from today's games:
Netherlands defeated Canada 2-1, Cameroon over New Zealand 2-1 and Chile defeated Thailand 2-0.

in the Gold Cup last night, Martinique defeated Cuba 3-0 and Mexico defeated Canada 3-1. tonight, Nicaragua takes on Haiti and Costa Rica plays Bermuda.

NXT and NXT UK were really good last night.

both episodes of The Wrestlers were excellent last night.

i did get to the bank today and made a deposit. it looks like the bank had some roof damage and some windows blown out by the tornado. after that, i took a little drive down to the old Hara Arena. i saw so many hockey games and wrestling events there over my lifetime. to see the damage from the tornado and know the place will never exist again, it felt like a part of me was finally dead.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lip Sync Battle, Desus & Mero, two episodes of Life in Pieces, Baskets and Holey Moley.

the NBA Draft is tonight. i think the first three picks are pretty much a lock, so the draft really begins at number 4.

the New York Yankees start a series tonight against Houston. i really hope the Yankees just keep on winning.

my sister will be down here tonight. i think she's going to be here for a few days. joy.

my brain is somewhere around 25, my body is nearing death...

i wanted to write this blog in the morning, but of course, between arthritis, apathy and just pure fucking pain, i didn't get out of bed until 10. that left really no time since i had to get ready to take mom to her doctor's appointment. that appointment is about a 45 minute drive. joy. and of course, between the tornado damage and construction, everything around here is a clusterfuck. thankfully, i took the right back roads and got her down there on time.

i don't think she met any doctors today, more like a nurse practitioner. this one was like a dream woman, tattoos everywhere and stunning, i mean fucking stunning eyes. i was hoping she was going to pick up on the vibe i was putting out. of course, that never happened. the appointment went really well. after that, mom wanted to go to lunch at Rusty Bucket. they were a little crowded, but not too bad. the food was excellent as always. the drive home was a bit of a drag, mostly because of fucking horrible drivers and the heat. of course, now i feel it is raining again.

i got home in time to watch the rest of the Yankees game and some of the Women's World Cup.

the Yankees won last night over the Rays, 6-3. this afternoon, they completed the sweep, defeating Tampa Bay 12-1. that victory was CC's 250th of his career. it also means the Yankees are 3 1/2 games up in the division now. they start a series with Houston tomorrow night.

the USMNT won last night, 4-0 over Guyana. when it was only 1-0 at halftime, i was not happy. i was a little more pleased by the end of the game.

Smackdown was pretty good last night, as was 205 Live.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

Songland was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Wrestlers. i'll watch NXT and NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

here are your scores from the Women's World Cup:
England defeated Japan 2-0 and Scotland vs. Argentina finished 3-3.

in the Gold Cup last night, Panama defeated Trinidad & Tobago 2-0. tonight, Cuba takes on Martinique and Canada plays Mexico.

i hope everyone had a good Juneteenth. if you don't know what that is, please educate yourself and stop being fucking stupid.
